I found the whole thing pretty cute and the fact that both characters pasts is somehow more or less explored. The kid and the main characters make the story very very cute, to the point I was thinking "It's too cute, I don't care about the incoherence or how unreal some parts are." I think it's a good thing though, sometimes I am so into the incoherence that I cannot enjoy a story at all.
I will surely give this author another try in the future.

While I like the main charactI read this book twice and actually speed read it a three time because I was really unsure how to review/rate this book. While I like the main character and their love story, a lot of thing in the book just didn't sit well with me.
My final note is 3.5/5, I'm giving it out 4* though because I feel 3* would be a rather harsh punishment for the author. The book is agreeable and rather well written. And I could see myself recommend it in the future MAYBE.
I'm going to start off by the negative points. There were two of them that really put me off: inconsistencies in the timeline, ages and details also Abby's age and (view spoiler)[ Abby calling Jillian mom after one month (hide spoiler)].
SPOILERS ALERT - I'm sorry cannot complain without mentioning the story.
First off, it's very easy to know that Jillian is 31 years old but it's so difficult to get Blake, Amelia or Jaime's ages. Amelia says that Jillian is COUPLE of years younger than her (and Blake) also it says that Jaime was younger than any other girls that were going after Blake. Blake was 17, Jillian was 16..... Doesn't that mean Jaime is 17 and the same age as Blake and Amelia? Meaning Amelia and Jillian are one year apart not yearS apart? I was very confused about this.
Secondly, there way too many inconsistencies in the timeline and the story. Almost every chapter (view spoiler)[ Amelia run away from Jillian for a week or more (hide spoiler)]. Nothing wrong with that right? Well is it, because supposedly, one month after Jillian and Abby's arrival, a mom and her son are supposed to join them and live in the house. It's mentioned at the start and in the middle of the book. Add to this that Amelia and Jillian's characters are saying they been flirting/being frustrated with each other for MONTHS (ref:(view spoiler)[ "spanned back to Julie's. "I've only known her for a FE MONTHS (hide spoiler)].) and then a few chapters AFTER, Julie drop this bomb: (view spoiler)[ Jillian last police abuse statement was less than one month old! (hide spoiler)]. Let's not forget that Jillian said to Coop (view spoiler)[ "I haven't seen her in months (talking about Kelly) (hide spoiler)]. None of this is making sense for me.
Details and timeline are very important to a story and such mistakes are a true turn off. There way too many of them for me to write all them down (though I took note of all of them and classed them).
The author and her character kept calling Abby a "child", a "little girl", she is fifteen she is a teen who will go to College in 3 years. So I didn't understand why they acted like she was 5 and like Blake or Jillian would raise her for a decade. While I like Abby's character most of the time, I was astonished by how quick she was to replace her mother, less than a month. I mean, come on, a fifteen years old (view spoiler)[ calling her aunt "mom" after a few weeks, one month at max. And acting like her aunt is her real mom and no one found it weird at all. (hide spoiler)]. Also, I was so surprised to know in America, you get a test on your first day of school when you transfer. I'm referring to Logan and Abby preparing for her geometry test before she was enrolled in school and that will happen on her first day.
I won't mention the whole Kelly or Suzie things, while I love the theme of abuse was touched, it was just...... a little too much.
Now you must be wondering "Why she is giving it a 4* and did she even liked anything in the book?".
I like most of the characters especially the main ones. They aren't perfect and they are stubborn and can be stupid but they were very real. I think both were written in a very realistic way. As well their relationship with each other and other people. I liked Darcy and Julie, especially (view spoiler)[ how they started their relationship at the same time as Jillian and Amelia and progressed on the same rhythm. (hide spoiler)]
As said before I loved how this book touched on the abuse, stalking but also on shelters for poor or abused women with children and on foster children. It was well written and I would have wished to read more about it.
Also as a non-English native, I learn a few new words thanks to this book and this author.
I'm going to end here before I say way too much and make this review even weirder.

The book summary is not the content of the book I read, which is surely why I am getting so disappointed. Still written in a dual POV but this time the two main characters are having way more scenes together.
I still cannot understand Jess and her story. Neither can I understand what her mistress, Lindsay, is for her. (view spoiler)[ Lindsay use her, abuse her, rape her, let other abuse her, rape her. She doesn't care about her slave at all. (hide spoiler)] This isn't BDSM at all, masters/mistresses do care for their pets/slaves while it's absolutely not the case her.
Also, Jess is 19, but have been with Linday for years it seems, which lead me to wonder why and how it happened but still no back up story on this.
As for Sara, I really liked how she worked on her seduction of Jess. These story and worksheets homework were very original and a good way to get Jess attention. I think I like Sara, she is honest, don't want to pay for sex, have some dignity (don't want sex with her underaged students even if she crush on them) and do work on getting the girl she wants.
It could be a good series if there were more plot and Jess character would be more worked on. It's leaking way too much of sense for me to truly appreciate it. Also, the abuse Jess is victim of are not BDSM. ...more
I was expecting something totally different when I started the book. The book is very short and pretty disappointing.
This is dual POV book. The main I was expecting something totally different when I started the book. The book is very short and pretty disappointing.
This is dual POV book. The main characters have almost no common scenes. While I don't have anything much against Sara Morgan's character, I have so much to say about Jess Cohen.
Jess Cohen is one of the two main characters, half the book is about her POV and the other half is about her being the sexual fantasies of her teacher. Yet, we know nothing about her: what she likes, what she is like, why she is in the situation she is right now...... We really a need a back up story of this character and her to 'think' and 'feel'. It's say the story is BDSM yet (view spoiler)[ most of the sexual encounters Jess is having in the book are no consensual and one is rape as she was abused while unconscious. (hide spoiler)]. I also don't understand the deal with Lindsay, her mistress. She has no love or want toward her slave and basically sold her to other.
As for Sara, her character is better wrote with thoughts and feelings. I actually found her very normal though he crush on student a little too much (one by year). ...more
My favorite book from the SoHo series, and my favorite couple to date from any Melissa Brayden's books. So I'm pretty happy we get to see them in the My favorite book from the SoHo series, and my favorite couple to date from any Melissa Brayden's books. So I'm pretty happy we get to see them in the two others books and they got a cameo in another one.
Anyway, took me years to actually post this review I don't know why because I did read the book like 4 times since I put it on my reading list....
Though I give it a 5* and said it was one of my favorite books, there a lot of things that disappointed me so I will start with it.
I wish the past and childhood of Brooklyn would have been more discussed/detailed. We kept reading about it but in the end, we know nothing about it at all. I believe more details would have help reader to understand why Brooklyn is so traumatized.
My second wish is about Brooklyn family. I find the whole thing too perfect? (view spoiler)[ Angry to give advice calling them mom/dad (hide spoiler)]. Only a few weeks/months pass in the books and she only met them once (okay twice). It shocked me and wish I could have know how Brooklyn was feeling about it.
Maybe me but I didn't really like Hunter and Mallory in this book. Hunter is almost non-existent and Mallory is being mean to Jessica even when Jessica tries her best to be nice.
About the main characters, I loved them both. None of them were perfect and they both committed mistakes. I know the whole "break up before the end to go back together" thing is typical in Melissa Brayden's books but I do think in this one it was actually justified. Though the whole Christmas party part broke my heart....more
How sweet is it is a very good book it contain everything I love: love, some angst, hot scenes, friendship, family......
My only problem with the book How sweet is it is a very good book it contain everything I love: love, some angst, hot scenes, friendship, family......
My only problem with the book is that most of the book revolve around Molly and though Jordan is a very interesting character that as some issues, and I would say more important issues than the one of Molly, we only see these problems but no talk about it or resolutions.
I kind of disliked how we, as readers, know how Jordan was in love with Molly since they first meet and Jordan did tell it to Molly yet the author never made Molly ask her about it or them have a talk about it. It's like it was very normally for Molly, that her ex-wife's sister crushed on her all of her life and compared the women she was with with Molly.
Another issue would be the fact her family doesn't care about her and make her feel like the black duck of the family. It was addressed in the book numerous times, her parents when all nuts when they discovered they were a couple because they think Jordan was jealous of her sister and that she was nothing as good as her sister. Then a few pages later Jordan was all ok with her parents. Like come on, if my parent would say to me I am nothing compared to my sibling all of my life then say I cannot be with the woman I love because I am more than nothing compared to her dead wife, I would be pissed off at them. But no, Jordan is not and once again the author let this hang out, problem is never resolved.
I would also address the big problem of their relationship, and no, it's not Cassie, it's the fact Molly take Jordan for granted and never even once is scared that Jordan will found someone else. In the end when they 'break it off' again, and Molly get, for once, Jordan back it was all so so easy. I would have appreciated it if Summer or another woman was more a threat.
I though Jordan character was way more likeable and awesome that Molly character and I feel sad it was a very Molly book.
Don't take me wrong, I like Molly, she is sweet suffer a lot but also give a lot of love to Cassie, Cassie's family and to Jordan. But she take thing for granted and is way to used to get what she wants without working when it comes to love.
Overall it was a very good book and I would not hesitate to recommend it. ...more

I really liked the first It's my first time reading an anthology and I really liked it, lot of authors I never read before were included in this book.
I really liked the first story, Pledge Night by Radclyffe. Okay there not much plot but it was very hot and I actually really wanted to read more of it. To see if the main character and her senior at the seniority will become something or not.
Study Buddies from Carsen Taite was my second favorite short story I think. I liked how the 'study buddies' were introduced and how the main character thought they were total idiots who ended up smarter than her. I regret not being in college anymore though, I could have tried their method to get A+.
Didn't liked some stories that much not because it was badly or poorly written but simply because it was not my style of read.
There stories for everyone in these, from the studies buddies, to teacher/student, people in love, butch/femme, threesome, more some (in some way)...... I would really recommend it if you are looking for different type of sexy stories.

I found Gemma character very cute and very well written while Tegan is the type of character that is a miss or a hit. I would say she was a hit with me until the end of chapter 1 then she became a hit.

And she is already flirting with a man - She thinks she is lesbian because she is now dating a woman and kind of put down Bisexuals - She only thinks about herself and no one else. (hide spoiler)]
That said, I totally adore Gemma, she is a very well written character and have all the patience in the world. I do like Jenny too, Tegan seems to think she is dumb but I beg to differ. She know about Gemma and them without Gemma saying a think.
I'm pretty sure in the next episode, Bernie will cause trouble to this couple and April too. Though Tegan dislike April, I would say the character is pretty interesting, yeah she seems to be a bitch but I'm almost sure she does have feelings for Jenny and is sad/angy that Jenny gave up on their fling. Also she asked Tegan's permission before trying anything with Erik. A truly heartless person would have gone for the guy without asking. ...more
