It was enjoyable and kept me reading, but I struggled at times with some of the plot being as extreme as it was. In all fairness nothing was going to be as good as book 1 was, but I wanted to love this one just a little more then I did. If you go in with expectations to just enjoy a fun book about royals and Americans, then you will be fine because that is what it was, a fun read.
I look forward to what else Kara has in store for us in the future....more

I really really loved the beginning of this book. Naomi and Knox were so good together. But I knew with it being such a long book that it would go off the rails at some point, and it did. Sadly that ending, or last 10-15% really did not doing it for me. It was bonkers and just didn't fit what I had loved about the start of the story.
I'm not sure how interested I am in the 2nd book, but I will definitely read the 3rd.
All in all a mostly enjoyable reading experience....more

I really did enjoy the chemistry between August and Natalie but again some of it was just a little too over the top for me and I just didn't connect with a lot of it. I appreciate how feisty Natalie was and how she stood up for herself but I wish we got more of that with her family/mother. Like some storylines started and they were either swept under the rug or got a nice quick fix. That is mainly my issue with this book. But again so many others have loved it so I recommend reading it and finding out for yourself how you will feel. That is seriously the best part about reading, everyone has different tastes....more

If there is one thing Sawyer Bennet can write, it is a hockey themed romance. That is why I have been reading her books for a long time and how I’m already on book 6 of the Pittsburgh Titans’s series, Cannon. I was really excited for this one as I love the story of coaches/managers finding love and I was not disappointed. Cannon and Ava has been one of the better books in the series. These two had amazing chemistry. On paper they should not work, but they were perfect for one another. Both of them had pasts they needed to work through before they were ready for any kind of connection and watching them both do made for such a great read. Plus I really liked Cannon as a person. He was just a good guy outside of his hockey world. By far my favorite of the 6 books. Add to your TBR....more

When I saw that Drake was getting a book and that the Titans owner was going to be the love interest I was immediately excited for it. Those kind of hockey stories have always been some of my favorite and I can say with confidence that Sawyer Bennet did not disappoint. Drake and Brienne’s story was really enjoyable. It wasn’t my favorite of the series, but I really liked a lot of it.
Drake is the story of Drake and Brienne. Once upon a time Drake was a player in the NHL, that is until they turned their backs on him thanks to a smear campaign and horrendous rumors by his ex-wife. Since then Drake has wanted nothing to do with the NHL and the owners. Enter Brienne. She is still trying to build the Titans into a solid team after the tragedy of the plane crash. She is trying to pick up the pieces of the Titans while also dealing with the grief of losing her brother. When she meets Drake she immediately offends him. But the one thing about Brienne is that she won’t back down and breaking down Drake’s walls and getting him to play for her team is a challenge she is will to accept. The question is, is Drake ready to let her…and hockey…back into his life?
Like I mentioned Drake and Brienne were great characters and I truly enjoyed their story. They played off each other really well. They were both dealing with a sort of grief, Drake grieving over the life he had and lost, and Brienne the devastation of losing her brother. They slowly started to lean on each other and it was a beautiful thing. Also they had chemistry off the charts. My only complaint was how quickly the end seemed to happen. It all felt really fast and rushed and I wanted more for this couple.
In the end, Drake was a great addition to the Pittsburgh Titans series and really let the readers get to know who the owner is at her core. It was a fun, enjoyable story and I look forward to reading more in this series....more

I think I say this every time I review a Sawyer Bennett book, but I seriously love her hockey books. I love how she lets her readers get to know all of the people that make up a team. From the players to the front office, we get to learn what makes each one tick and what drives them. So per usual, I was very excited for another part of the rebuild of the Pittsburgh Titans So far we have read 3 parts of their story and I knew eventually those 3 parts were going to lead to one of the most broken of the team, Coen Highsmith and that is exactly what book 4 of the series did. It gave us Coen’s story and explained why he was ready to give up everything. Was it my favorite of the series? Probably not, but it was a solid addition.
Coen is one of the remaining players that didn’t die on the plan crash that took the lives of almost everyone in the Pittsburgh Titans organization. But since that day he has not been the same. He was worked overtime to push people away and to not care about hockey. He has gotten into fights and got suspended. When he has finally had enough he takes Stone up on the offer to stay at his cabin and that is where he meets Tillie. Tillie and Coen DO NOT get along immediately. They are neighbors with opposite ideas of what they want from their properties. But as they get to know each other Coen starts to let go of some of the guilt he has been holding on to and might even realize that hockey is still what he wants in his life…but only with Tillie by his side.
I will admit that the beginning of Coen was a struggle. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book. Coen was surly and kind of over the top about it and Tillie wasn’t the greatest either. But the more I read the more I felt for Coen and loved Tillie. He was just a broken boy that needed to move on from the past. It is simple as that. He was holding on to guilt that he didn’t need to be holding on to. He just needed someone to listen to him that had nothing to do with the hockey world and Tillie fit that mold. As the two of them got to know each other the more and more my enjoyment grew until I loved the both of them and thought they were perfect for one another.
In the end Coen was a good addition to the series. His book added some more background about the team and left things open for the future. I look forward to more in this series from Bennett....more

I really had high hopes for this one. Sadly it fell flat for me. Both Hallie and Julian did not connect to me at all. I found a lot of their 2.5 stars
I really had high hopes for this one. Sadly it fell flat for me. Both Hallie and Julian did not connect to me at all. I found a lot of their dialogue over the top and at times cheesy and that made me sad. I loved Tessa last duology, but this one just didn't work for me. I am still going to read the follow up book. Maybe Natalie and August will be a better fit. This book may not have worked for me personally but it worked for may other readers and it may work for you so don't be shy about checking it out anyway....more
