First of all, you see that title? Well, that “Diary” wasn’t really important and wasn't useful really! Second, the story itself was so repetitive, and asking repetitive questions over and over without revealing anything was on my nerves (in a bad way)! And it was a bit over the top, in my opinion! I’m not saying it was that bad, but it wasn’t really good either! Told in single POV, 1st person. Overall, it was an okay read for me and I hope you like it more than me!

Ten years ago, when Zoe was getting married to the love of her life (Toby) she fainted. When she was conscious she couldn’t remember why; maybe she fainted because of her nerves or she didn’t have breakfast or… now after these years she’s still married to Toby and they have 2 children but whenever she thought of her wedding day there was always a blank. Now with getting close to their 10-year anniversary there was so much happening and she felt something’s very wrong, she could feel it in her bones but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it…
Told in single POV, 1st person, it’s a standalone novel. It’s an easy read, fast-paced, unpredictable with a satisfying ending. All in all, I had fun reading this and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

This story is about two business partners who were dead in the same accident (falling from a cliff) but with a time difference of nine years. It's just a tragedy that repeats itself. Told in multiple POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. When I started reading it I was enjoying it; the writing style was new for me. It was like you were reading a transcript but then nothing happened. It kept going around and around. And then the ending happened. I read a whole story for nothing. I think the author didn’t know how to finish it! Hope you enjoy it more than me!...more

This is the story of two women, two unhappily married women. First is Detective Rowan who is struggling with the mess of a husband. Second is Amanda who is a therapist and her husband won’t accept that their child is unwell and there begins their struggle. There is a serial killer in the wind who is punching the ones who deserve to be punished and sending messages. So who is the killer and how does it connect Amanda and Rowan to each other? What is their role in this story?! And I assure you, it’s not that simple!
Told in multiple POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. Amanda McKinney is a new-to-me author and I enjoyed what I read. The second half was much better and more interesting. This is a fast-paced book with short chapters and I couldn’t guess the twist. Overall, I had fun reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

The Family Experiment is a reality TV show. During 9 months different couples and one single man will compete to raise an AI child from newborn to eighteen. And the public will vote on the winner. But the thing is each one of these contestants has their own agenda to win. Each family has secrets; some are creepy, some have dangerous secrets, and some have demons… So which of them will be the winner and at what cost…?!
John Marrs did it again, twisty, jaw-dropping read and I couldn’t see any of them coming! It’s well-written, well-paced, and contains short chapters, it’s an addictive read. Albeit I should say there are a lot of characters but after a few chapters I got used to them all. I think it’s safe to say you can read it as a standalone novel BUT if you read The One, The Passengers, and The Marriage Act you will enjoy it more given that there are references to these stories.
Overall, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

Told in multiple POV, both in 1st & 3rd person, it can be read as a standalone novel. This is my first read by this author and I loved it. This is a twisty read. The title couldn’t be more fitting, with this story you should LOOK CLOSER. It’s an addictive read, well-written, well-paced, contains short chapters, and alternates between Before and After Halloween. I think all thriller lovers will enjoy it if you dive into it blind. David Ellis is a very talented author who knows how to write a compelling story. All the characters here have their own agenda and nothing seems as it should be. All in all, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

Connie put her life on hold to take care of her mother, Gwen, who is suffering from dementia and Alzheimer. Then out of the blue, there is a handsome handyman, Paul, in their home. He has shown interest in both Connie and Gwen and he’s a good listener but with every day that passes Connie sees two sides of him and makes her think he has a hidden agenda, maybe money? She thinks of him as a conman but how far will he go? And what’s his ultimate goal?!
This is another enjoyable read by John Marrs, at first, I saw the story as a simple one but I should have known better, nothing is simple when it comes to John Marrs. Everyone here has their own agenda. This is a story of manipulation and revenge. In the end, I pitied Connie for everything that happened to her but she made her bed and must lie in it!
Told in multiple POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. It’s well-written, albeit a bit slow with short chapters and a twisty read. Overall, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

Told in multiple POVs in 1st & 3rd person, it can be read as a standalone novel. I like this author’s writing and so far enjoyed whatever I’ve read by her and this one was no exception! This story started at the end and ended at the beginning; it was exciting. This is a twisty read (most of them I didn’t see coming) and contains short chapters. It’s a slow-paced, domestic thriller but it didn’t reduce the enjoyment. Overall, it was a good read, and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

When one morning Dawn doesn’t show up to the office, Natalie is surprised because Dawn has OCD and it’s unlikely of her to be late or not coming without prior notice. So when Natalie tries to be a good coworker and discovers what happened to Dawn, she gets involved in a twisted game that leaves her wondering who the real victim is here…
Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. Freida McFadden is a new to me author and I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is a fast-paced thriller with short chapters and unreliable characters, it’s a twisty read and even though the main twist was revealed in the middle of the story it still didn’t diminish the enjoyment of it. Overall, I liked it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. I’ve read some of Minka Kent’s stories and enjoyed them and this was no exception. I enjoyed the whole story but not the ending. Honestly, I didn’t like the ending, it was a bit disappointing. I wished there was more suffering and I could see it but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. Told in multiple POV, both in 1st & 3rd person, it can be read as a standalone novel. I like the topics this author chose for her stories. They are almost unique, at least for me! This one is about two sisters ripped apart by the justice system. One stands as the accused and the other as the victim. Martha’s 8-week-old baby girl died while her sister was in charge of her. So the police say she is guilty but Martha doesn’t know what to think, doesn’t know to support her sister or seek justice for her child. This is not quite an easy read and it’s not for everyone! It’s a slow-paced thriller with short chapters. Not much happened and it dragged a bit. My only issue is that I guessed it early on. All in all, it was a good read, and hope you enjoy it as well! ...more

Someone You Trust is Amy’s story about who moves to a small town to be a nanny/housekeeper for a perfect family. In this way, she also can escape from her past. But what she doesn’t know is that her new employers have their own secrets just like Amy…
Told in single POV, 3rd person, it can be read as a standalone novel. Alternating between the past and now, it contains short chapters. It’s not an easy read (view spoiler)[abusive relationship and violence (hide spoiler)]. My major problem here is with Amy and her decisions. I couldn’t connect with her character and understand her decisions as a mother! I think she could have done much better! And also the story is a bit predictable. Told in multiple POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. This was predictable and I guess it early on. Told in multiple POV, 3rd person, it can be read as a standalone novel. It’s a VERY slow-paced story with short chapters. This is more a thriller than a mystery. And it revolves around witness protection. It’s about a girl who witnesses a murder and gives a false testimony in the court and then she and her family are placed in the witness protection and what an awful situation it is. I hadn’t read anything similar to this plot (at least I can’t remember) so it was a bit new to me but I should say not much happens in here and it’s not a twisty read but still it’s an addictive read. This story is way different with my previous reads by this author and still I loved it! I couldn’t put it down. I was addicted to it! I couldn’t extract their truths and lies, even at the end I was doubting myself "did I get it right? Maybe I made a mistake with my conclusion" but whatever my thoughts were, that ending was the best way to finish this story. This book will challenge you BUT it’s not for everyone, it’s NOT an easy read. So if you decide to read it proceed with caution. It’s a slow burn and still you will remain at the edge of your seat the whole time. If you want to read this book go in blind, Lisa Jewell is a talented storyteller for sure!
