I go straight to the point: - There is no character development - I can’t believe Roxy as a friend! She is uncomfortable around people who have problems?!? She doesn’t know what to say to them!? So what’s the meaning of having friends! I’d remove people like Roxy from my life! What kind of friend is that who wants to be there for you only in your happy times! - Teagan is a doctor; instead of a therapist, she went to a psychic!!! She said therapists don’t work for her, so what, a psychic works for her! With what logic!!! Unbelievable!
All in all, this one didn’t work out for me but I hope you enjoy it more than me!...more

No two stories are the same, not in this and not in anything in life. People tend to judge the world through their own experiences. If they didn’t suffer in the same way as someone else or deal with something in the same way as someone else, one of them is always wrong and one right, instead of realizing they’re both right. Just…not the same. Personal. How can it not be?
Gage & Joey became best friends when they were six. They were a pair, a package deal; whatever one was, the other was as well. But years later something bad happened which caused them to separate and it emotionally wounded them. Then they met each other but this time they both have their demons and struggle with their insecurities. Can they give each other a second chance and heal one another…
Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. It’s been years since I’ve read anything by this author. At the time I lost my interest in her stories but with this one, I think I will start reading her books once again. This is an emotionally second-chance romance and it’s angsty. Gage had the biggest heart, he was tough but knew how to be vulnerable with Joey and would do anything for his friend. For Joey, it always felt like Gage’s pain lived inside him... Overall, it was an enjoyable read, and hope you like it as well!...more

Once upon a time, Jackson & Lucas were best friends. They knew one another’s secrets and things had gone a bit over the friendship line. And then they were torn apart and they went their separate ways. Jackson left Lucas as if he were nothing and no one. After eight years Lucas couldn’t shake the feeling that some bad surprise waited around the corner. He was so scared of letting anyone in that he had resorted to self-sabotage. But now that Jackson has returned to the town on a business trip can they put their past behind and trust each other once more…
Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "South Haven" series and can be read as a standalone novel. This is a second-chance romance and it's low on angst. There is a bit of push/pull. I enjoyed the writing and I liked both characters. I loved their possessiveness toward each other. Overall, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

It’s the dents that make them special. That makes them them. Survivors. Molded by their experience. Be proud of your scars, Dove. Because where you see hardship, I see opportunity. Lev & Bailey are not friends. They are two people obsessed with each other, trying to hold one another back. Lev doesn’t want her to become a ballerina and she doesn’t wish Lev ever to find true love. She’s addicted to taking care of him, obsessed with making him need her. And when she tried to know who she was without him, she lost her pride. She is broken, lost, and hopeless and Lev is her sun, which she can only admire from afar.
Told mostly in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the fourth installment in the "All Saints High" series. It can be read as a standalone novel but because of the characters’ crossover, I think if you read it in order you’d enjoy it more. Damaged Goods is a full angsty, best friends-to-lovers story. I love Lev to pieces for his protectiveness and for always being there for Bailey, helping her, having her back, and loving her. This is a bittersweet story of what these two went through, especially Bailey. I’m not a big fan of Bailey especially not when she was under the influence… but their journey of healing is beautiful and an emotional mess. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, hope you like it as well!...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the second installment in "The Loan Shark" duet and should be read in order. Here, in this book, Valentina is no longer Gabriel’s captive, he’s hers! She awakens emotions he thought he didn’t have. She makes him feel gratitude, regret, joy, and fear, so much fear for what he did to her. These feelings scare him sh!tless. there is a twist here that I didn’t see coming. My only problem was that Gabriel was so soft with her and kind to her that it took the darkness within him away. All in all, it was an enjoyable read and I hope you like it as well!...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "Plum Valley Cowboys" series and can be read as a standalone novel. This is the story of Wyatt & Easton, two best friends from childhood to adulthood. Their friendship spans over decades and it changes over the time. It’s a slow burn story and a bit angsty. I liked both MCs. I liked Wyatt for not changing and for loving Easton infinitely. Still, I was a bit disappointed in him when (view spoiler)[he went into a relationship with Harrison for two years when he knew he was still in love with Eason (hide spoiler)]. Another thing is I got a bit bored toward the end. All in all, it was a good read and I hope you enjoy it as well!...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in "The Loan Shark" duet and ends on a cliffhanger. It’s a dark mafia romance. Gabriel is the king of the money lords, the Breaker. He’s a loan shark and Valentina’s brother is indebted to him. Valentina has to work for Gabriel for nine years to save her brother, no matter what he asks. And what he asks is depraved, immoral, and dubious. This is my first read by this author and I liked it! I wish it was a bit darker but still, it was enjoyable. Valentina went through so much but wouldn’t act like a broken doll, she is strong. Gabriel is damaged but dangerous. He is obsessed with Valentina and with his increasing obsession and protectiveness, everything goes hand in hand to make her fail but would she break!? Overall, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well but proceed with caution! ...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. I’m a big fan of Cara Dee and expected more from her. I couldn’t get it, why Ben wouldn’t accept help from his mom or Angie? And how easily Trace trusted Ben and took him to his house. Also, I wish there had been more drama or angst, considering a homeless person was involved. It was more like a sweet story. Overall, I still liked it and hope you enjoy it as well!...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the "Heroes and Villains" duet and ends on a cliffhanger. This was slightly different from Natasha Knight’s usual works when the alphahole takes the girls and torments her… This one was a bit mellow on the dark side. Don’t get me wrong it’s still dark but not as much as her other stories. I don’t know much about Silas, but still, I liked him; and his protectiveness of Ophelia. But I didn’t like her as much. She was a bit weak. I wish she had a backbone and could stand up for herself. This is an angsty read. All in all, I had a good time reading it and hope you enjoy it as well but proceed with caution!...more

Told in dual POV, 1st person, and it’s not cliffy. I wanted to enjoy this story as much as the "Until" series, but unfortunately, some issues didn’t let me. First, what was the point of these two being married?! Because it wasn’t relevant to the story, it was just mentioned here and there sometimes. Second it dragged at some parts and it became a bit repetitive. I think if it was a bit shorter it could have been more enjoyable. Another thing is I think this story could have been more angsty because of the stepbrother aspect, it had the potential but I don’t know why the author didn’t do a good work on that part. Despite the negative parts, I still did enjoy it and it’s because of the MCs. I liked them both. Ryker for always being supportive of Lake. Lake has insecurities, of being rejected, getting hurt, and being abandoned but Ryker with his behavior shows him that he won’t leave him and is always there for him. And this goes for Lake too. I liked his sense of humor and their banter. I think there will be another book of Ryker and Lake, I mean it should be another one because this HFN thing doesn’t really work for me. All in all, I enjoyed it and hope you like it as well!...more

Charlie knew he wasn’t like other people. He was an adult (29 years old) but people wouldn’t see him as such. They saw him as mentally deficient and broken. They treated him like a child. They called him crazy. There is a dark hole in his mind that whenever he pokes at it, the internal alarm bells rang. He is smart but locked inside his head most of the time with monsters from his past, he lives in a constant state of fear. And now his fear's got worse because he’s convinced that someone is after him, watching him, leaving gifts for him but no one believes him.
Takoda is aggressive, mouthy, and rude. When he’s assigned to Charlie’s case he knows it will be the end of him and his career so how can he help Charlie?! Is Charlie in real danger or is he paranoid and it’s just in his mind and imagination?!
Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. I like Nicky James' stories and her writing style. This one started off good but something was missing here. Told in dual POV, 1st person, it can be read as a standalone novel. I’m familiar with these two authors writing. And I’ve liked their stories so far but unfortunately, this one was a bit of a disappointment. It had the potential to be much better, more angsty, more emotional. The relationship development wasn’t good enough and I think the authors went over most of the things that happened in the story very superficially and the ending was rushed. All in all, it didn’t live up to my expectations but I hope you enjoy it more than me!...more

It started off good and I loved the feelings but I got a bit bored toward the end. I liked both characters; how they had each other’s back no matter what, how Lucky knew Ellis, and even with his selective mutism still he knew what was in his mind except for damn one thing!

This story starts with a gay couple beaten to death in the middle of the night in their own home. And one of them is Quaid’s ex (Jack). This case is not in Quaid’s specialty but he’s going to assist homicide and being Aslan’s temporary partner again to keep busy.
Quaid is learning how to deal with the heavy weight of loneliness. Aslan flirts with him, teases him, and knows it exasperates him, but he does it anyhow and Quaid is secretly enjoying it.
I was a bit disappointed with this story and in Quaid. I wish there was more info about the perp, like more bread crumbs maybe? Quaid is a detective so I don’t know how it is possible that Jack had a whole other life without Quaid knowing about it!

The Tragedy of Felix and Jake is the story of two addicts. Jake is a former marine who’s been dishonorably discharged. He lost seven years of sobriety when he found out his girlfriend broke up with him. Felix has been clean for over a year. He likes to be close with people, he likes the connection.
Unfortunately, between these two I didn’t feel any chemistry. This is a slow-paced story but the ending was rushed. I wish the author would shorten the story and spend more time on the ending. This was my first read by this author; at first, the sense of humor was enjoyable but in the long term it got boring.

Told mostly in single POV, 1st person, it’s the first installment in the Until series and can be read as a standalone novel. Briar Scott is a new to me author and I would read more of her books for sure! Both characters here are sweet and I loved both of them. Jude is emotionally damaged; he has trust issues. For him relationships are complicated and he doesn’t do complicated. Blake is loyal and his loyalty is to himself first but after meeting Jude everything changes a bit. They both have secrets and these secrets will put their relationship at risk. The tension and angst made by them I devoured it all. I liked the writing, Jude’s dry sense of humor put a smile on my face. I wish there were more of Blake’s POV. I prefer dual POV, I can have a better connection with characters this way.
