It's been awhile since I've read a book I loved this much! It was honestly fantastic! The whole setup felt very "You've Got Mail" with a super spicy side. These characters were so easy to love. The pace was perfect. I almost did a one sitting read with this one, but I had to put it down to get a few hours of sleep. Only to immediately pick it back up when I had more time later in the day. Avery's book is next. And I gotta say I'm a little frightened for that might entail! I definitely recommend this one and I'll be on pins and needles until I can get my hands on Avery's book. ...more

I hadn’t read the first two, but I would still consider this a standalone. I was able to piece together the information about the other couples mentioned throughout the book. I did feel like I was missing some crucial information on Becka’s mom. I’m wondering if some of that may have come in the first book about Becka’s sister, Lucy.
We start off the book at Lucy and Gideon’s wedding, where our hero and heroine meet. It was a little too instalove for me. But, mostly, I struggled with liking either of the main characters. Becka was really bitter, and nasty a lot of the time, and so hard to like. Aaron was more commanding, and controlling; a typical alpha. I thought the two characters were really similar and so they fought a ton about doing things their way. I liked the one night stand ending in unplanned pregnancy trope and them handling that. It was entertaining. There was a great ending too. I think if you enjoy that trope, you’re going to like this one.

There wasn’t enough information given; I felt like I’d been dropped into the middle of the book and was trying to piece together who these people were to each other. I hated the main characters. Chantelle felt way too innocent. The things Granger said were shady, and cringeworthy, almost predatory. I felt like I was watching sexual harassment take place in the workplace. I’m wondering if maybe things just didn’t translate quite as well to the U.S.? Also, their whole relationship moved way too fast. And what is up with Chantelle’s weird roommate, Neil? A male roommate who watches her shower… WHAT?! I, unfortunately, cannot recommend this book.

This was the last in the Stiletto/Oxford series but can be read as a standalone. Layne does a really good recap within the chapters so you know who these side characters are from previous books.
It was a friends to lovers story. Their friendship was so cute. Their banter and chemistry was great. It was super slow burn.
With this being the last in the Stiletto/Oxford series, I think those exchanges were my favorite parts of the book. Layne got every single character in there. I loved the friendships both the girls and guys had with each other. And that epilogue was amazing and the perfect end to the series!

This was my first book by the author and I didn’t feel confused at all. In fact, my favorite parts of the book were the friendships, and I know most of them have had books in another series, and I will going back to read those soon.
Awkward and weird are absolutely the best adjectives to describe this book. Tess is eccentric, socially awkward. Cole also has his own quirks, likes things need to be in order, doesn’t like change. He’s also pretty hung up on his ex girlfriend who broke up with him 7 months ago. These characters were difficult for me to relate to. They meet at a wedding rehearsal dinner, and she ends up pregnant that night. It felt super fast and we really didn’t get any details about this, so it felt even more sudden because of that. I never really fully got on board with their relationship. However, the ending was super sweet and convincing. It didn’t completely work for me, but I’m definitely in the minority about this.

But, I had absolutely no reason to be nervous at all. This book was seriously the sweetest. It gave me all the feelings.
The book starts us out by introducing us to Aubrey as a female director in Hollywood at the top of her game. I already knew I was going to love her character from the beginning. She’s strong, smart, independent and a truly likable character. She receives some medical results that causes her to put her life in perspective. She decides to set off on a bucket list trip to do all the things she’s ever wanted to do. One thing that keeps coming up is her regret over leaving her first love, Cole. Thus begins the second chance romance trope, which admittedly I’m not usually a huge fan of, but this couple and this situation worked out phenomenally with this trope. I loved these two characters as individuals and especially as a couple. The supporting characters all had great character development. I adored Bennett and Emilia! My favorite part of the book was all the traveling and checking off items on the bucket list. I've got to check a few of those things off on my bucket list!
If you didn’t already guess, I highly recommend this second chance romance!

This was a new to me author and I was a little nervous from the blurb. It’s definitely a forbidden romance, in that Taryn is Violet’s roommate and best friend, and Violet was dating Oliver. When Violet breaks up with Oliver, Taryn agrees to help him try to get her back. They have tolerated each other in the past, more enemies than friends. This made for great banter, and some serious sexual tension.
From the very beginning, I LOVED Oliver. He was funny, sweet, protective, nerdy, and loved a good plan. Oliver assumes Taryn is the exact opposite. She comes off as a party girl, pageant queen, and seems like she has no real plans for her future. But, she is not what she seemed. She was a positive, good person just trying to survive her life. I adored her. They were so great together, and I rooted for them the whole story!
Obviously, with this being a forbidden romance, some extra drama ensued toward the end. While this was necessary for the storyline, it did feel a little drawn out. But, then that ending, and epilogue were exactly what I hoped for! I really enjoyed this one, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next books in the series!

I've read many of her romances so I was intrigued when I saw a thriller from her. This was really good. The main characters weren't particularly likable. Everyone was a mess. But, I can tell you I was riveted from the very beginning. The past was definitely more interesting in the beginning and I needed to find out what had transpired then. The present got a little boring in parts with all the therapy sessions. I pushed through and the final chapter of the story, particularly that final line messed with me! I finished this book almost a week ago and still can't get it out of my head. You should definitely pick this one up. Hold on til that final chapter when that crazy twist is revealed and you will not regret it! I look forward to more thrillers from this author....more
