I simply loved the dedication at the beginning to motherhood - it sets the tone of the entire story. A woman can be a mother to a child without giving birth, love knows no boundaries.
The journey that Freddy and Millie take together was just inspiring and to see Millie grown as a young woman will melt your heart.
With sensitive subjects covered we are given moments of small-town humour and adolescent struggles. The story continues with so many rich layers of new families forming and solid friendships.
The menagerie of animals and children and the concept of different families strengthened the message in A Change of Pace of motherhood in all different forms.
These characters, in particular, the trio of Freddy, Newt, and Millie all had battle scars of loss. They all fought in their own way to want to live fulfilling lives and believe in love and second chances.
Newt's love of his daughter knew no bounds and his desire for her to find herself again by trusting others. Jim and Jordan's storyline is another I loved as father and son and what a surprise with Phyllis - loved that curveball.
Finally, the Epilogue gives hope and also wonderful closure for Millie, Newt and Freddy.

Then heartache happens because her mother has cancer and is taken from her. Whitney's mother's dying wish was for her to find love. Now Whitney has to learn how to love and live again.
Whitney who has poured everything she was into spending every last moment with her mother and then having to find out who she is now. She moves to the only family she has left and finds her heart there. She is learning to grieve and to bond with others.
Aaron is the brother of Witney's boss. He is a man who is trying to find the one girl who he would build a house for. So far he hasn't found a girl that he would spend more than one or two nights with. He wants to find what his parents and sister have. Once he met Whitney he found the first person he really wanted to get to know.
Southern Desire is a story of love, loss and the courage to live again. For Whitney it's about healing and staying true to who she is and allowing herself to grieve. For Aaron, it's about not letting his one get away even when she can't tell him all her fears. Whitney needs time to find herself again but there is a dark cloud that hangs over her that she has trouble telling Aaron. She's afraid of ruining his life. Instead of trusting the love that they have she gives into fear.
This story is beautiful in its relationships, between brother and sister, children and parents, and between friends. It is also beautiful in how much heart is shown in each of these relationships. They may sometimes be messy but they always shine through in the end.
I was given this ARC in exchanged for an honest review.

This author has a way of taking two people who have very different backgrounds and helps them to find a common ground. The two main characters in this story (Saylor and Rhett) were really special.
I love the fact that Saylor is such a strong character. She could have crumbled when her ex-boyfriend turned out to be such a jerk. And when her best friend decided to be more of a mean girl than friend. But she didn’t. Saylor seems to really want to find out what makes her happy.
Who wouldn’t want Rhett in their lives. He was brought up by a great family that taught him to respect everyone around him. I love the fact that family and friends mean a lot to him.
The secondary characters in this story were so much fun. Rhett’s Grandpa was perfect. Molly and Jack were exactly the type of friends Saylor needed in her life.
I really loved these characters. Kaylee Ryan got the balance perfect between the emotional parts and playful banter. There was great chemistry between all the characters. This was a nice heartwarming story and I can’t wait for what Kaylee has in store for us next.

Sebastian was for me a hard to love character with all his hang-ups. He was a master in the erotic moments though which made this very enjoyable.
Heather and Ava were my favourite part of this whole story, their history and how they became a family and Heather's immense love and loyalty to this beautiful child made my heart sing.
At times I just found Heather and Sebastian's connection not strong enough and their inability to communicate made this sometimes frustrating but I am happy I kept with them. Sebastian's family was another surprise that helped keep me entertained....more

My favorite parts of this story were both of their parents and how they included themselves in Luca and Eli rekindling their romance. Their son Aiden was beautiful and very funny and adorable and so adaptable to all the changes going on in his life.

This is a love story of Calla and Jonah but also that of Calla's parents, Wren and Susan. What an emotional story of regret, love lost and family. Moments of goosebumps and tears with the Prologue and do not get me started on chapter 25! Those last few paragraphs shredded what strength I was holding onto.
The way the author ended this story was pure perfection, the friendship between so many characters, their personal stories and humour just want me to go back to Alaska again by picking up this book.
Calla was beautiful, bold and honest in her emotions with her father Wren and her slow-burn romantic feelings for Jonah. Jonah is a male character that is going to stay with me for a long time as is Wren her father. Susan and Simon in the background do add another layer to this long lost love story. Simon's guidance with Calla and love for her mother is another standout storyline in this amazing tale.
I simply cannot stop thinking about the strength of Wren and Susan and the life choices they made and how their love never died - I have to stop now as the tears are coming........ ...more

Whilst I loved Duane and his brothers and their family moments, humourous brothers jokes and all coming together against a threat to their family. I really struggled with Jess. Her constant should I go should I stay in the end wore me down, when her personal story got interesting and I really wanted to find out about the partner to her Aunt, we actually got nowhere, although I do have a possible hunch to who her Aunt perhaps loved, that went nowhere. I am left to wonder are we going to find out more about this couple in the other books. I actually really loved Jethro and Cletus.

It was always on my mind but there have been such mixed reviews.
At Peace is one of my favourite stories so I was happy to be able to see so much of these Cal, Vi & the girls in this story. It probably made me forgive the pace and how this story was just too long.
I would have loved for her recuperation and mending fences with Benny’s family to be more in-depth and less of her living away from Benny, it really felt dragged.
The endless drama with Frankie’s family drove me nuts and I admit by the end I skimmed over their conversations as I was like I am over this drama.
Now I did enjoy this story however it did not rock my socks and I felt the ending was rushed. Then we were shown the wonderful life of Frankie and Benny, I would have loved to have less of their time apart and more of their life after.
A favorite character for me was Sal and how he slowly breaks down the barriers and mends fences. He really loved Frankie like and daughter and I loved that for her.
Benny did not disappoint in his alpha protectiveness.
Look I think because this series has two of my favourite books being At Peace and Games of the Heart that I had really high hopes for The Promise. Happy I read but will not be in my KA books that I reread endlessly....more

Quin and Teagan have great chemistry as friends and many times caused me to laugh out loud. Their one-liners are just so funny and light-hearted.
Teagan has some emotional moments where I felt true heartache for her, but I loved her determination.
Teagan and Rebel, well some moments are great and others I struggled with. However, once I knew his story I forgave and understood his silent treatment. The relationship with the brothers I enjoyed immensely and how they became attached and protective of Teagan.
Now I have to admit I am unhappy with her dad's story not being resolved. I did find myself smiling at the conclusion about how Rebel stood up and took charge.
This is not a college romance, it takes place over college break. There are some great passionate moments. The verbal Diahorrea between Quin and Teagan will make you laugh, cringe and fall in love with their friendship.

BOY TOY was sexy and fun, and it was refreshing to read a story about a younger man/older woman for a change, even if the age difference between Sadie and Liam was only five years.
I think Sadie is a character a lot of women will relate to. She was smart, hardworking and a wonderful mother to her adorable twin girls, Kate and Amy. I felt so sad and angry on her behalf at how her self-esteem had been knocked down by her douche of an ex-husband, who you wish was real just so you could kick him in the balls for his douchey ways.
Liam was an amazing man and it was no surprise that Sadie and her girls fell in love with him. He proved to all three of them that they could rely on him, that he’d always be there and that he’d always keep his promises.
I loved all the characters, with the exception of Douchebag Decker of course, and I liked getting a glimpse of the previous couples and where they were at with their lives. I LOVED the surprise party for Liam’s dad, which was both hilarious and gratifying. As with the previous books, the banter and inner monologue were quite amusing, like this little gem, which had me laughing out loud and saying “Ewww” at the same time.
“He wants to put ranch dressing on your Hidden Valley.”
The only complaint I have is that I was irritated by how many times Liam referred to his fourteen-year-old self. It was funny at first, but it got old pretty fast.
BOY TOYis told in dual POVs and comes with a beautiful HEA for Sadie and Liam. While it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone, though I would recommend reading the previous two books because they’re both very enjoyable.

Almost two years to be exact and I'm very glad the wait is finally over. As with any book from Elle Kennedy, THE CHASE was a very enjoyable binge read that left me wanting more.
It's hard to believe that two weeks ago I was excited about seeing Fitz. Now I'm dreading it. My unicorn is no longer a unicorn. He's a judgmental donkey.
I liked Summer and Fitz, but Summer was definitely my favorite character. She was a breath of fresh air and was so open and honest. A special mention also has to go out to Brenna, Summer's new best friend and the daughter of the school's hockey coach, who was just as ballsy and unapologetic as Summer was. Fitz was a good guy, but he did try my patience with how negative he could be towards Summer simply because her personality was different to his.
I've made more of an effort to be social, but deep down I'm still the guy who wants to remain invisible. Summer is the most visible person I've ever met.
THE CHASE is most definitely an angsty, slow burn romance, with Summer and Fitz pushing and pulling each other for more than two thirds of the book, which for me was a very long time to wait for them to get together. I was left with a lot of questions relating to both Summer and Fitz, and if those questions don't get answered in the following books, it will annoy me greatly. I was a little disappointed with the ending because it felt abrupt, came without an epilogue and came almost immediately after a very big scene had been played out.
THE CHASE is told in dual POVs and comes with a nice enough ending for Summer and Fitz. I'm very much looking forward to Brenna's book, THE RISK, which is scheduled to be released in February 2019, and I'm desperate to know who her love interest will be. Will it be Hollis, Summer and Fitz's roommate? Or will it be Jake Connelly, a rival hockey player from Harvard? Time will tell, and I for one hope time flies.
* Please note: This book includes talk about—and includes a couple of scenes of—sexual assault, so take caution if this topic is a trigger for you.

Throw in their two friends Anthony and Sandy and I simply devoured this in a day and could not put it down. I began reading and the next minute I looked down and realised I was at 60% and could not leave these characters.
The Blind Date was perfect, after that first night, I knew this was going to be a great romance read.
When Laney finds out her blind date is not who she thinks it was perfect and showed her sensitivity. Anthony and Candy provide humour at this point especially when Hunter is trying to rectify his mistake with Laney. The endless mentions of Tinder will make you laugh out loud, my favourite quote is by Hunter.
“These two …… I don’t even think Tinder knew what to do with them”, I say, looking over at them, “except to match them”
The story flows well and does take place over a few weeks, then we jump ahead 6 months and three years in Epilogue One & Two which I loved as we get to see not only Hunter & Laney but also where Anthony & Candy end up. Lots of beautiful moments which also include their family and I was left totally satisfied.

I’ve read a few books from Lauren Blakely before and my most recent reads did not win me over. But THE REAL DEAL sounded different from those books—it sounded light and fun—so I decided to give it a go. Boy, am I sooooo glad I did.
I really liked Theo and April. Despite the crappy hand life had dealt him, Theo was a nice guy. He was very down-to-earth and he had a wonderful sense of humor. April came from a more blessed background, but she never acted like a spoiled princess. She never judged Theo for his past and she worked hard to carve out her own life and successful career path. I really liked April’s family as well, especially her mother and father.
As the bulk of this story takes place over five days, THE REAL DEAL is most definitely an insta-love romance. But what I found interesting is that it didn’t feel like one. The chemistry between Theo and April was exciting from the moment they met, and watching that chemistry build as the story progressed made their time together feel a lot longer than just five days.
THE REAL DEAL is told in dual POVs and is currently listed as a stand-alone. If you’re looking for a read that flows well and includes a fake boyfriend, meddling but well meaning family members, competitive games, and some laughs, then THE REAL DEAL is for you.

I quite enjoyed DOPPELBANGER, which is the second book from Heather M. Orgeron that I’ve read.
“You burst into our lives like a bomb, when our world needed nothing more than to be shaken up.”
I liked Gina, who has a heart of gold but a mouth that gets her in a lot of trouble. I loved, loved, loved all the kids. Gina’s nephews⏤Landon, Lake and Kyle⏤were a handful and hilarious. Jeffrey’s daughters⏤Evangeline and Willow⏤were feisty and adorable. I loved the scene were Gina and Jeffrey meet, which was awkward and hilarious at the same time.
Unfortunately, Jeffrey wasn’t as likable. Some of the things he said to Gina were so hurtful and some were downright unforgivable. It was so disappointing to see a man—who loves his daughters and loved his wife—treat women so badly. That being said, he was a wonderful father to his two girls, and he did redeem himself in the end, but I still spent most of the book wishing I could kick him in the balls.
DOPPELBANGER is told in dual POVs and while it has a connection to BOOMERANGERS, you don’t need to read that book to enjoy this one. DOPPELBANGER was very funny, but as with the previous book, some of the humor did feel forced. DOPPELBANGER comes with not one, but two epilogues, both of which were lovely and sweet and perfect ways to end the book. But the extended epilogue—set twelve years in the future—was my favorite one for sure.
Catching Callie is a sweet New Adult romance but with some extra heat thrown in to keep you wanting these two lovers to find their HEA.
Both Gabe and CCatching Callie is a sweet New Adult romance but with some extra heat thrown in to keep you wanting these two lovers to find their HEA.
Both Gabe and Callie have heartache and family dramas to deal with along with trying to give their new romance a true chance. Many obstacles come their way and the author is true to their situation with the way this story winds up and the Epilogue, which I loved.
There are some great supporting characters, my favourite is Callie’s uncle who was simply such a great guy.
Surprising me was the emotion of both Gabe and Callie but considering what they are dealing with, the author gave them integrity and it felt so real. The last quarter of this book will have you tearing up and struggling with emotions, especially for Callie.
This story is told randomly from their POV and it even has a couple thrown in from an evil character trying to manipulate their relationship.
Finally, I loved how the author allowed these two characters to follow their individual dreams to eventually find their happy ever after.

This book captures everything that made the Wicked Lovers series so good. It picks up at the end of Holding on Tighter. Cutter and One-Mile definitely hate each other.
Cutter is a great guy who believes in loyalty. He is even willing to sacrifice is own heart to save his friend from small town ridicule and her fathers wrath. When he starts to fall for the woman he is protecting he has to make serious decisions.
Shealyn is also just a good person but she has been caught in a complicated situation with no easy way out. People are depending on her for the show and their personal lives.
I loved Devoted to Pleasure. It has great characters that just build on each other. It was fast paced and over too soon. I really liked the internal struggle that Cutter was having between what to do with his best friend and Shealyn. And I really liked the mystery in this story. The story continues on from MY DEFENDER and folMY ANGEL is the ninth book in the Bewitched and Bewildered series and was another very enjoyable read. The story continues on from MY DEFENDER and follows the mating of Etain (fae) and Vivian (vampire), and we’re still in Noctem Falls.
Quite a lot happened in this book, all of which was really exciting. I apologize if the below is spoilerish, but it was all so interesting that I can’t help but write it all down. 1 – The mysterious sickness plaguing the shifter children has now started affecting adult shifters and vampires, including Prince Magnus. 2 – The group is concerned at discovering that over 50% of the Vanguard units are unaccounted for. 3 – Two Royal families previously believed to have been extinct are reinstated in front of all the Noble and Founding family heads. Those two families align with the other two Royal families, giving Prince Magnus more support against those who seek to seize power and control of Noctem Falls. 4 – In that same scene, it was demanded that Gavriel prove he was royalty. Not only did he prove it, but he also revealed that he is over ten thousand years old and is also known as the Dark Prince from their history and legends. Without a doubt, this was my favorite scene.
In regards to the two main characters of this story, there’s not much I can say about Etain because apart from being Vivian’s mate and having a close connection to the Fae Queen, there’s really nothing else to him. Vivian stands out more because she was pivotal in quite a few scenes throughout the story.
I’m still having a lot of trouble keeping track of all the characters we’ve been introduced to so far, and the number of characters increases by at least two with every new book. It’s gotten to a point where if I’m struggling to remember who a character is, I stop trying and just continue on with the story, otherwise it does my head in. This does take away some of the enjoyment from the story, but the mystery of what is going on around them keeps me coming back for more, so I’ll just have to deal with it.
MY ANGEL is told in dual POVs, with the epilogue being told in Micah’s POV as he’ll get the next book. While each book is about a different couple, the books in this series cannot be read as a stand-alone and must be read in order.
