Everything this author writes is magic and The Scot just became my favorite. Yes I say that about every story Cecelia Mecca writes, but what can I say? Her imagination is endless and she knows exactly what her readers wants. She makes you feel you are there in medieval times with the characters, her descriptions are so vivid and the dialogue flows so smoothly. A widow desperate to escape her brother in law, after her cruel husband dies, she rides to Dromsley Castle to find her sister, and into the world of Terric, one of the Order of the Broken Blade. She instantly dislikes him with his frown of disapproval and judgment as she demands to enter the castle. She is happy to be reunited with her sister but anxious when she finds out they are all in danger. There is a lot at stake with the rebellion against the King and worry if he will strike those against him. So everyone is preparing for battle and a lot is at stake. I loved Terric and Roysa and could not stop reading until the end to see what would happen. Another exciting tale from a master storyteller that will keep you in it's grip until the end and long after. Perfect.

I knew it would be an amazing tale as all of her books! She has a gift for making you feel you are there with the characters and yes, feel their emotions. Hannah and her two sisters had gone to Scotland and on their last day, jumped off the falls to the water below. Even with her fear of heights, she wanted to be a part of this last adventure. But when she surfaces, she is washed ashore at Saxton Castle in the year 1394, where Tristan, lord of the castle finds her. Now what is a modern girl to do when she finds herself surrounded by knights and has no idea she has traveled in time? The adventure begins and does not slow down until the end. Hannah is strong and a very successful business woman, so it is fun to see how she interacts with everyone. Also I loved Tristan and seeing how he handled her and his people. I cannot wait to read the last book in this trilogy with the last sister and find out what happens. Trust me, you do not want to miss this story... Prepare to be Enchanted!!

"Knight or blacksmith, earl or mercenary...none of their titles, or lack thereof, would matter if they were exposed as traitors to the crown." An amazing start to this new series by one of my favorite authors in historical fiction. I fell in love with her Border Series and was sad to see it end, but she has captured my imagination and heart again with these beloved characters. A man on a mission, Lance Wayland has taken the job as blacksmith at Stanton Castle. His goal to find where loyalties lie with the Earl of Stanton and who can be persuaded to join them in the fight against King John. But wouldn't you know it? A beautiful woman gets in the way of his attention and he is having a hard time resisting her! Lady Idalia, middle daughter to the Earl! Perfection! Cecelia Mecca never ceases to amaze me with her descriptions of surroundings and history of the times that always make me feel I am there (oh I wish!). The characters become familiar and the emotions come off the pages! A strong, sigh worthy hero and a lady out of his league who is attracted to him as well. Suspense, intrigue and a brotherhood that cannot be broken. What more can you ask for? Another keeper that will go on my favorites shelf and not soon be forgotten!!

An unbalanced mother, almost deaf butler, a mad parrot named Caesar and Lady Fiona Chastain and her friend Mary! Yes I was laughing pretty quickly as Cerise DeLand always writes with such delightful humor and unique characters you never know what to expect! Marvelous, isn't it? Fiona was angry, but not heartbroken ( she had really been attracted to her cousin's soon to be husband), when she received the invitation from her aunt that her cousin Esme was to be married, when everyone was together for the May Day Frolic she attended every year. On her way with Mary to her aunt's they had a mishap and the coach broke down. Having lodged her foot and in pain, she was rescued by none other than the man she had met many years ago and had dreamed of... She wondered if he recognized her.. "Charlton sighed with the pleasure of a quest come to an end. This was she of his dreams, she of that night so many years ago in a ballroom and a card room. She of is heart and is salvation." Can I just swoon? Of yes and this is just the beginning!! There are so many delightful and sigh worthy moments that I want to tell you about, but you will just have to read for yourself! I am always look forward to a new story by this author because she always wraps me up in humor, adventure, romance and yes everything I love in historical romance! A widow with a small daughter, threatended by her father to marry an older man for money. He will harm his grandaughter if she does not obey. Fleeing from town with her daughter and the child's governess to hide away at her cousin Grace's estate, she stops her coach when she sees two bandits beating an older woman. Eliza jumps down and takes a whip to the blackguard and about that time, Nathan, Viscount Pendleton comes to the rescue. I loved this thought from Nathan "Fate definitely has a sense of humor." Well fate did step in that day as he took them home to see to their needs before they traveled on to his neighbor. Eliza is really damaged from the treatment of her father but has such a strong spirit internally. His attraction to her is immediate and she feels some definate flutters herself! But her father is not done with her yet and he is really a bad man and my heart ached with what happens. The writing of this author was so enjoyable and I even learned a couple of words or phrases I had to look up! Bumble bath and Johnny raw. So fun to see the expressions of the day even if it was only in the hero's thoughts!! Do not miss this wonderful story that you will not be able to put down once you begin!!

Amanda was going for an interview at an old winery that was starting back up, but she knew her chances were slim would get the job.. She was young and really did not have the experience, at least on her resume. But she was in for a surprise!
Garrick's knack for making money, was buying companies, hiring the right people and then on to the next project. The winery deal was personal for him though, in memory of his brother, who had know everything about wine but had not had the chance to realize his dream.
Amanda cannot believe it when Garrick offers to make her a partner. Of course it is a run down property that it will take all her hard work to make a go but she is terrified and thrilled!
Wowza, I loved the first two books in this series of three friends who met after several years at a reunion. They made a pact to honor lost loved ones and move forward. Lisa again brings together an a great storyline with two people that need each other.. Needless to say, their journey is filled with all the ingredients to make this a must read with a sigh on the last page (ok, on several pages, but you will have to see for yourself!)!

He can if he is Declan Sinclair whose dreams always come true and his clansmen know it. Declan has been dreaming of a lass that will be his bride for three years but the dreams have started to come closer together. Sitting in a tavern with his cousins he looks over and sees Caya Pendarvis, the girl of his dreams down to her yellow hair!! What Declan does not know is that she is with her brother Jack ,who has already sold her off to a merchant to pay his gambling debts and they are waiting to meet her betrothed the next day. Caya and Declan lock eyes several times and there seems to be a spark. As Caya goes up to her room for bed, Declan walks over to Jack and introduces himself. Well one thing leads to another and a card game ensues with the prize being beautiful Caya! How could Jack lose the game when Caya is already promised to another! Of course Declan wins! When Caya finds out what happened, Declan gives her a choice of waiting to marry her merchant or go with Declan to his home. She does pick him but Declan intends to woo her so she will want to be his wife. I loved this story with the adventure and the braw hero who is really a little shy but has a wonderful smile with a twinkle in his eye. Can Declan win Caya who only wants to be loved for herself and feel worth something? Jennifer Trethewey again tells a wonderful story of two people who were meant to be. I mean it is not everyday a man dreams about his future wife and that dream comes true!!

With five sisters that are left at their father's castle while he is away, Bran, a reiver manages to take over the castle. But he never expected Marin, the eldest, who had been trained as a warrior, just as all of her siblings. Marin was determined to outwit him and do whatever she could to take back control. A strong, courageous heroine and a determined hero who has his own reasons for needing to be the victor, clash together as this adventure unfolds. But there is so much more to this story than appears and I was gripped in the intensity with a few tears and emotions that wound it's way into a journey that was unexpected. Married? Yes they did but what was the reason and could it last? It seems that fate, which is often unexpected, brought these two together with a resounding spark that could light the sky! Prepare to be enthralled in the first story of this new series that only had me anxious to read about the next sister. Madeline Martin is a master story teller, who always weaves circles around my heart with her detail and wonderful characters that become real with their thoughts and actions! As all of her books, I highly recommend this one and know you will thank me later!!

Not that she had not had opportunities to marry. She had not once been tempted to accept and her own mother described her as 'not pretty enough to tempt a rake and not rich enough to tempt a fortune hunter.'" paraphrashed but it really set the story going forward. How can I best describe this utterly delightful story? Once I began the first page, I was immersed into one of the best stories I have read this year. I could only admire Miss Emily Henley as she would not settle for less than a real marriage to someone she cared about. She was to the point of setting up her own household and luckily she had the funds, where she could pursue her true interest. Political concerns of restricting child labor and extending the vote to women and many more. But she did enjoy her conversations with the handsome Lord Theo. Oh yes he was a libertine but their banter was so surprising and he did not want to get married anymore than she did! Little did she know his thoughts about her... "There was something about her-some restless, passionate, driving force he sensed just beneath the surface calm-that called out to him, as compelling as physical beauty." A slow journey of friendship and sparks of attraction that literally comes off of the pages. Julia Justiss has created such a memorable story with all the ingrediants that I adore in historical romance. I truly cannot wait for the next story in this series and know I will be revisiting this one again. Perfect.

Heather McCollum has immersed us into the Scottish Highlands in 1685 and takes us on a journey to deliver a precious infant to safety without anyone knowing what Laird Shaw Sinclair carries. As the first scene opens, we find Alana Campbell with a small group of Highland Rose school students making their way to the annual Samhain Festival at the base of Beinn Nibheis. There was a saber toss going on and all the girls were agog at the brawn highlanders. One stood out "He was broad and towering, the muscles obvious in his bare arms where dark lines formed a picture on his tan skin. He wore a kilt and a sleeveless tunic...". Yes, yes I can visualize that, looking at the cover and sighing.... Oh, sorry I digress! They figured out he had to be Shaw Sinclair, the chief who had won his lairdship when his horrible uncle had died ten years ago. But they needed to stay as far away from the Sinclairs as possible. Famous last words because it was not to be. Shaw was given the duty of delivering a bairn to the coast to be taken to safety in France. The problem was he had lost the wet nurse and trying to get the baby to feed was not going well. Alana ended up helping him get her fed and he determined she would be just the one to help him keep the babe well. Another awesome story full of danger, intrigue, great dialogue and characters that you get to know and love. Prepare to sit awhile and fall in love with Shaw and Alana. Thanks Heather!!

He happens upon a lady who is about to be run over by a carriage, jumps and pushes her out of the road. The woman is Miss Alice Morrowe, who is blind and could not see him as a wolf. As he shifts back into a human and goes to help her, it begins. This was really a fated meeting for two people who were very lonely and they needed each other, but that is not how it started for him. What I did not tell you is there is a possible way to break the curse but it is very specific and Alice might just be the way! First the title told me that our Heroine could never forget the Scot, I mean why would you! Virginia finds herself in a terrible marriage to a man who had only wanted her money. Unexpectedly she is taken in broad daylight and ends up a ship with several other women! But as luck or in this case fate would have it, she is rescued by a Clan of Scottish men and she meets Magnus. The two have a strong attraction, but of course she needs to go back to England to claim what is hers that her husband stolen. Magnus is determined to go with her and be her protector but England is the last place he wants to go. This story is fast paced and the plot will have you guessing and afraid to take a breath. Action, suspense, passion and love is woven together with great secondary characters that will take you to the end. Cannot wait for the next book by this talented author.

Unfortunately for Sebastian Sinclair, Duke of Wessix, Earl of Badington, and Knight of the Garter, it was the latter." From the first line I knew this was going to be fun and delightful and without hesitation I was correct in that I was laughing out loud on the first page!! The epiphany was that he needed to marry and begat a heir or all his holdings might go a bloody American relative! Plus he might die at any moment! He sent a not to Miss Eliza Benton to help him in his quest. Eliza had to smile as she received the almost indecipherable note from Wessix. He was going to visit tomorrow. She tossed it in the drawer with all the others he had sent, not sure why she saved them. In six months she would inherit funds from her mother and a cottage and truly be independent. They had met three years ago at a ball and he had been taken with her beauty and wit and she had been indifferent to his. It was the start of an enduring friendship. When he announced to her he was going to marry, he wanted her to draw up a list for him. Can I just say I adored this story? The relationship between these two and the banter had me laughing and smiling as Elizabeth Bright managed to wrap her characters around my heart! I could not wait to see what happened between these two to make them realize they were meant for each other and oh yes, they were!! Perfect!

Can two enemies overcome their feelings of hatred to come together? A man driven, William, Lord of Camburg who went by Court, was determined to reach his goal of the top of the mountain. He only knew he was being drawn. Finding the stone he was making he way back home. But Lady Marion had the same goal. She had been deemed keeper of the stone so she caught up with Court and demanded he return the stone. This was a wonderful story by Cecelia Mecca that continued a secondary character from one of the first books in her Border Series. Two people fated to be together with different goals for the power of the stone. But were they really ? The interaction between Court and Marion was heartwarming and the story had a couple of surprises that kept me turning the pages! This story was part of The Ladies of the Stone: A Scottish Romance Anthology. Which if you haven't read you should!!

Cecelia Mecca continues to set the bar high on historical romance with her vivid character and historical descriptions. Be still my heart. Readers of Cecelia Mecca continues to set the bar high on historical romance with her vivid character and historical descriptions. Be still my heart. Readers of this series have been waiting for the story of Graeme de Sowlis, who in previous stories, has been disappointed by two ladies who chose other men. With his confidence level low, he is determined not to fall in love and get hurt again. He has focused on being a worthy laid for his clan and promoting peace in the borders between Scotland and England. While visiting Kenshire Castle in England for the May Day celebration, he spies Gillian Bowman, who has been made Queen of the day. One thing leads to another and he is caught kissing Gillian in an unexpected encounter. Being the honorable person he is, he is determined to marry her. A handsome Scottish warrior and a beautiful young woman? What could be so bad? Gillian has agreed to marry the Earl of Covington, a rich elderly man, to please her father and help save their home. When she is caught with Graeme, she is mortified but has no choice but to marry him. This is were the story begins to tug at your heart. Can Graeme let go of past hurts and give his heart to Gillian? Can she trust him to be honest and help with her family while not breaking her heart? There were so many emotions and wonderful secondary characters that played important parts in this tale. I loved watching the story unfold as Graeme fought to stay distant from Gillian and not fall in love with her. They were so right for each other and passionate in their desires. With each story I have read in this series, I think it is the best one. But I loved this story and could not put it down. Yes I stayed up until 3:00 in the morning! This entire series is on my to be read again shelf and I cannot wait for the next installment!!
