This book was one of the most intimate and amazing books I have read. Definitely one of my favorites. While reading the book you feel like you are reading her diary because of all the drawings. I saw the movie the evening before I started reading the book, so watching the movie definitely shaped my opinion and experience of reading this book. It was interesting for me to be able to pinpoint the differences between the movie and the book so easily . I can really relate to the main character Maddy because her personality and her love of books is something that her and I have in common. She has also been very sheltered all of her life because of her mom and wants to experience life to the fullest just as I do. Her and Olly's relationshi0 is innocent and sweet. I found both of their sense of humors to be similar. The way they fell in love was amazing because it was purely conversational and was intellectual instead of physical.
