I'm...conflicted. While not a bad ending by any means, it did feel rushed. I'm glad there is a somewhat happy ending with hope for a better future but I'm...conflicted. While not a bad ending by any means, it did feel rushed. I'm glad there is a somewhat happy ending with hope for a better future but honestly, I cared more about the fact that not all of the Scooby gang survived. I've always loved Fred and Daphne together so even though I was doubtful it would happen, I still hoped they'd somehow get a HEA.
I had such a great time reading this series and would love to read more like it in the future! As I said in my review of volume 1, the writer managed to capture the essence of the Scooby gang and that remained true all the way through. The artwork was absolutely beautiful and I'm fairly certain I drove my fiancé crazy constantly interrupting whatever he was doing to show him random pages. As a lifelong lover of all things Scooby Doo and a sucker for a good bit of horror, I can't recommend this enough!...more

Every issue leading up to this has been so much fun but damn. This was a punch to the gut. I really feel for Daphne. (view spoiler)[Losing Fred was awful but seeing him return as some sort of zombie? That's definitely not going to be easy. (hide spoiler)] Here we've got the return of an old friend/foe and the once abandoned mall is now filled with survivors while Daphne is on a quest to take out all of the monsters - or die trying. Certainly nothing the members of Mystery Inc can't handle...
I have to say I've been increasingly annoyed by the Secret Squirrel bits. I'd much rather read about the Scooby gang....more

Studios was going to be re-releasing them in chronological order. These were written during the late 90's while season 3 was airing so for me, some read as if they were filler between episodes. I can't say I loved all of the storylines but they were still enjoyable and managed to maintain the humor/interactions I love from the show. It should be no surprise that reading this made me want to begin (another) re-watch. That being said, they are far from perfect - Xander bugged me more than usual so I'm hoping he gets better as the issues progress. BUT this book served its purpose. It was entertaining which is something I definitely need right now and it was fun reading some - new to me - mini adventures of the Scooby Gang. I can't wait until Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Legacy Edition Book Two releases in August so I can revisit the series that I've loved for over 20 years!...more
