I am so grateful to Bookouture for allowing me early access to read this books early. One of my favourite crime series, and this team of detectives always have me hooked on every page. Another late night finishing this one off, and I am not mad about it at all.
Kim and her team of dedicated detectives have their work cut out for them in 36 Hours. As the title suggests, they have 36 to solve this case. Reporter Tracey Frost is sent an email in the early hours of a Sunday morning to follow the clues of someone will be hurt. This killer is sadistic and there are some gruesome scenes.
I feel that zi am running out of words to describe how much I love these books. Always page turning, clever writing with characters that I really care about after so many books. This is book 21 and they just keep getting better and better. Is it time for book 22 yet?!

Anna and Elijah have been married for 10 years and on the outside they look happy and loved up. Elijah is obsessed with new tech and gifts Anna the new chip that is inserted into your body that allows you and your partner to hear each other waking thoughts. Anna is against it but feels she has no other choice, will this bring them closer together or tear them apart?
Now it wouldn’t be a good story if these people didn’t have any deep dark secrets that they were hiding from each other would it! This was a fun, page turner that really made me glad that this is. It a possibility in today’s world. Grab this book and just go with it.

A serial killer..and a copy cat killer. 30 years apart. Former Guarda detective Julia Harte is now living the quiet life in a small village on Irelands coast. Now in her 60’s, she is relieved when she hears that the serial killer she helped put away in 1994 has died in prison. She can finally relax..or can she? Soon she is summoned back to Cork to help stop a copycat who is following in the footsteps of this serial killer.
Told in dual timelines of then in 1994 and today, we learn about both cases and how they relate. We see what Julia risked for this case, what it cost her and why it still has a massive impact on her today. I don’t what to say too much, just read this and be constantly shocked and surprised. This is a brilliant police procedural. I loved that our protagonist was an older woman, who uses her experience in life and in her career to try to stop a ruthless killer. Really well done.

It is always nice to be back in Jenna and Dave’s world and now at book 24 these characters are all so familiar.
This time the team are working a cold case which was a nice surprise. The bodies of 2 teenagers who went missing 12 years earlier at Halloween are found when the constant rain causes a flood, bringing their buried bodies to the surface. It was a full team effort for this case, with some of their usual tactics unavailable.
I do love these team of detectives. Killers think that they are so clever but they can never get past this lot. I love seeing some different members of the team shining more and more as this series continues. With Jenna getting further along in her pregnancy, I look forward to seeing what will happen next.
As always this is a clever, pager turning police procedural that I found hard to put down. Bring on book 25.

Whilst I enjoyed this book, I did struggle with a bit part of the story. The main character when from one extreme to the other very quickly and it just felt off to me. It was a like a switch was flicked and she became a different person.
Despite that, the story was interesting, idea., I just feel that it could have been done better. I don’t want to give anything away about the story so it is hard to say anymore.

Adele and Jason are getting married in Refuge Bay on the South Australian coast. They have known each other for years, having holidayed in the area with their families when they were teenagers, but 12 years ago, a tragedy occurred and changed them all forever. Now, back at the same place, tensions are high, and somebody is trying to warn Adele off the wedding.
This was a quick and fun read that I finished in a few hours. We don’t know the full story of what happened in the past, but we get chapters in the present and 12 years ago, and we start to put the pieces together. I would have been happy for most of these characters to get what was coming to them, to be honest.

2 very different women. First we have Jasmine who has saved all her pennies to escape her abusive partner. Then we have Stephanie, a top TV executive on her way to a conference. These 2 ladies meet on a plane and what happens next is a wild ride. The way the story is told, with multiple characters points of view and timelines was so well done. It had me second guessing myself. There is twist after twist and has me turning those pages as fast as I could.
I will definitely be looking out for more from this author.

I just love these characters.. come on, private detectives called Poe, Holmes, and Marple… that are a crime lovers' idea of heaven. We learn more about our trio of friends this time, which was eye-opening, to say the least. Holmes is trying to stay clean after months in rehab, Poe has some life changing news, and poor Margaret is trying to hold them all together. This case will test them all, abducted babies from a secure hospital.. how and why?
There is a banging ending that left me needing more already, so here’s to book 3. One of my favourite parts of this book, without spoilers, was the 3 of them attending a crime writers conference and the appearance of another of my favourite authors. This really made me laugh and was a fantastic scene all around. There are Poe’s fast cars, Baskerville the dog, and lots of baked goods.
Absolutely loved it if you can’t already tell. It was a 2-sitting read for me. Comes out January 6th, 2025, a great way to start the new year.

They Never Learn is one of my all time favourite books, but this is a very different book but I loved it just as much. Not released until January 16th, 2025, this will be in my top reads of 2024. No it is not a dark crime thriller but I could not get enough of this book. It is long book but if I had the time I am sure that I could have devoured it in a single sitting. It was so addictive, so twisty and fun to read.
In 1984, UK team of Torvill and Dean won gold at the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, with their Bolero Program. I was 9 years old and mesmerised. Ever since then I have been a big fan of ice dancing. In June 2025, I will get to see my childhood heroes in person in Sydney, skating for their last tour. I could not be more excited.
Anyway, The Favourites. This book shows the cut throat world of ice dancing. Kat Shaw and Heath Rocha are the next big thing, but they don’t do things the easy way and emotions are high.. They have to scrape for every penny and their biggest rivals are the Lin twins, children of a former Olympic champion. The story is told through a documentary, with interviews from those who were in their world. It is a story of love, friendship, betrayal, ambition, revenge and much much more. A must read.

On their wedding night, Kate and.Charlie are finally putting their feet up and preparing to head off on their honeymoon. Kate is so happy, she is the CEO of a huge corporation and she has just married her childhood sweetheart after not seeing him for 5o years. That is until he drops a bomb on her, and then denies it to police, claiming his new wife is suffering from dementia and mental health issues. Her daughter Julie doesn’t believe it, her mother is a strong and independent woman, so what is going on.
This was a fast read, I read this over 2 sessions and it messed with my head. I loved the way it made me change my mind about everything and everyone. With a hurricane, a husband with secrets and plenty of characters who aren’t easy to like, this book is one to get lost in.

What a way to start my dive into 2025 releases. I was so excited to get approved for this early copy, having been a long time fan of this author and her amazing storylines. Camellia is dreading her day. It is her young daughters first day at daycare care and she is returning to work from maternity leave. And her husband Luke is nowhere to be seen. He is not answering his phone and she has to negotiate it all alone. She has a horrible feeling that something is wrong, and then the police come knocking.
This book is just so well done. Told in various timelines, we see what happens at the time, and then we jump ahead 7 years. How this day changes all of their lives and makes you think about how you would deal with what happens. How life can change in a split second, nothing is ever the same again.

I do like to have a laugh in my books, despite the content usually being quite disturbing. These 3 women were hilarious and so relatable. I loved that one was a librarian and book lover, so much of what she said made total sense.
Go into this without knowing too much. It is a story of women, and their power, their friendships and what they can achieve individually and collectively. Even with what they get up to, you will love them and be cheering them on.
Now I really need to grab this author’s previous book from my TBR, I loved the way she writes, so vivid. Great characters, great story with plenty of the darkness that I live.

I read this book in 2 sittings, which easily could have been one if I didn’t start it so late at night. As a parent it hit me close to home as what happens at this party could very easily happen. I really felt for the mother, Eve and her situation.
A 16 year olds birthday party and disaster strikes. Just like that, the lives all there and their families are changed for ever. For Eve, it is the start of her seemingly perfect life imploding. She is happy, a great husband, a clever son, the house she always dreamed of and a job she loves. But the more she tries to discover what really happened at the party, the more secrets and lies threatened to take all that away from her.
I am being deliberately vague here and I feel you just want to read this without knowing too much. This is a page turner that will draw you in and not let you go until the very last page.
