Leigh is a wonderful, relatable heroine. How I empathized with her. With the jaded loneliness it is to be single when all your friends are coupled up. Her dry humor and quiet cynicism were a gem. I also loved her sass and banter in the book world. I lived for her next encounter with Killian. And, oh, boy: Killian!
He was a dream literally the cocky billionaire side of him, his banter, his teasing. But the real him was even more…. All those moments when they almost kissed but didn’t had me on tenterhooks for the entire book… the tension was so high…. I loved their relationship the arc from fantasy enemies to lovers to real friends to lovers. He was smoldering as a cowboy and toe-curlingly amazing also as a regular guy.
All the situations they found themselves in had me laughing out loud.
I think this is honestly my favorite book I’ve read this year if not ever.
All the little references to tropes and booktok and inside jokes for us book lovers were just the cherry on this perfect book cake.

John is the perfect book boyfriend and Marissa the best friend we all want. I honestly loved them both. Yeah? John screwed up in the past, but he more than makes up for it in the present. And he’s a single dad, swoon!
Marissa is fierce and vulnerable at the same time, I just loved her. And it’s okay that she took her time to open herself up to love again…
The banter was perfection…
The whole Thanksgiving meal scene had me bent over laughing… and I kept chuckling from the beginning to the very end of the book…
I also loved getting more insights into Blake and Gabriel’s story from the previous book in the series, Not in a Billion Years—how they get back together and the surprise at the end of the previous book. Also the taco restaurant scene was another one of my favorites…

There was humor, action, tension, romance... this story really had it all!
I loved how feisty Winter was, how she didn't take any nonsense from Logan. And Logan was my kind of brooding, gorgeous hero. And best of all, his sidekick and best friend was just as charming and will be the leading man in the next novel! I can't wait to get my reading paws on that!!

The first meet-no-so-cute was hands-down hilarious, when she puts him on the witness stand for a mock trial (you can tell I watch Suits) and grills him! LOL, Priceless.

I don't know... other than the dreams, Ruby's switch toward Nick is bit too sudden...I didn't really feel the love. Also Nick is being mean to her and all of a sudden he's jealous...mmm, where did that come from? And why would he be jealous of a character as dumb as the rugby player. It didn't make any sense. Characters just switched attitudes with no reason other than the author wanting them to, but the reader definitely isn't shown the change. I didn't feel it. There were no emotions in this book.
I hate it when the main character is a young woman who's drunk for three-quarters of the book and says more times the f-word than hello. Eugh, like seriously, I know I'm not in my twenties anymore, but this book was just exaggerated on the getting trashed/language trashing side.
The fact that they kept calling girls "birds" was so annoying.
Joey the best friend is a huge D-bag, every girl's nightmare. It's horrible that Ruby seconds his behavior. I didn't like him one bit.
Also, when you have a villain or an obstacle in a story, Heather (Nick's girlfriend in this case), it's just not fun when the villain easily blows herself out of the picture, strong anticlimax. As was the final "big romantic" moment. Two long phrases from each protagonist, one kiss, and that's all folks. Again an anticlimax.
Then there were some parts that were just not very logic, like Nick agreeing to getting married out of politeness. That's a dumb plot twist. As is the way that gets resolved, too dumb, too easy, too unrealistic.
Anyway, this was a quick, light read all the same. With some good humor like mount clothesmore. but just not one of my favorites....more

I quite liked the spin the author gave to the story. I found this book delicious! I have a special preference for love/hate relationships and this book had the perfect one! I fell in love with Mr. Brandon, he was gruff, grumpy, moody and dashingly handsome. I wish I could look into his gray eyes. His banter was witty and smart. If that wasn't enough he's also a vet! It doesn't get any more perfect than this. I would like to give a special mention to Emily the Blackface lamb...she was so adorable...I wish she was here to pet her!
I would definitely recommend this book.
So why is the book not 5*: - It was my first time reading a Jane Austen adaptation in a modern setting, and I don't know exactly what the rules are, but the behavior of most of the characters felt a bit bipolar. I mean if they're modern, they drive cars, have cell phones, swear, spend the night away from home, then they can't behave modern half of the time and Jane-Austen-like the other half. It should be either one or the other. But maybe that was the beauty of the book and it was lost on me. - Elionor. What did she do all the time? Again if we're in a modern setting she should've been working or studying or doing something. Even if the sisters had only one car they could surely carpool, no? It took away from her character I think. - Every so often there were snippets of conversations repeated as this or that character thought them over in his/her head, for no particular reason this annoyed me to death. I didn't want to re-read all those passages....more

After going at the flea market (I just love flea markets) she discovers an ancient case and its unusual inhabitant: a gorgeous, mysterious gentleman who promises to grant all her wishes. Arthur, my latest book-boyfriend acquisition. :) He was so fun, when he tries to live in the modern word (he's been in the case for centuries), but he has also so much charm. I loved him.
The book kept me hooked with any unexpected (apart from the lovely ending) twists and turns. The mysterious reasons behind Ally's break up, Arthur's story (never saw that coming), and the way Ally uses her wishes. She was hilarious, the pranks she pulls on Vanessa were the best ever I was laughing so much.
I loved this book head to toe. It starts a bit slow so give it a chapter or two, because after that the pace picks up and it's like reading a Disney movie mixed up with Mean Girls! I loved it! It's a perfect revisited fairy tale and a romagic comedy to boot!...more

Tessa is fun and there's a lot of humor and funny moments. I loved this novel I immediately empathized with Tessa. She loses her job, which basically is her life. She’s helplessly in love with her best friend, and when they finally get together it’s another major screw-up. So then of course she assumes a false identity and flies away to Hawaii, where our wonderful, arrogant, incredibly handsome leading man makes his appearance. I don’t know how the story ends as the novel leaves us with a cliffhanger…so right now I’m heading to the library to borrow book #2 (being the thrifty buyer I am book #2 is a bit too expensive to buy.) All in all, Tessa is the kind of sarcastic, humorous heroine that I like. Nick is just the cocky, boastful guy with hidden depth that I love the most in RomComs. If you also read Baby Be Mine you’ll also have a pretty good idea of how this book ends… I had also read the summary of The Longest Holiday on Goodreads, so I had an even bigger spoiler on the story… Nonetheless, I enjoyed this book as much as the others I’ve read so far from Paige Toon, she definitely earned a place among my favorite authors because all her book are quick paced and engaging… they absorb you from the start and don’t let you go until the end… This book is no different. Another thing I like about this author is the fact that she takes minor characters from one book and develops them in another one. The setting of Chasing Daisy revolves around the F1 championship, I liked it … there is a lot of tension from the start and a lot of swearing in Italian, which, accidentally, I can understand …. It made me laugh (even if some of the swear words were misspelled and mistranslated, nothing crucial to the story however!) The only annoying part is where Daisy alias Paola complains so much about being a billionaire’s daughter, making it sound as such a weight to bear… Boohoo! ...more
