It's managed to completely destroy me and reduce me to a barely functioning human being. I'm pretty sure everyone's mad at me for completely ignoring them these past few days. I couldn't put it down. I was up till 2 am reading it. Until my eyes were so tired that I couldn't read the next paragraph.
I can't believe it's finished! I'm in shock with everything that happened. I don't even know if I'm in the best state of mind to write a review. Everything is too fresh and I just want to start weeping of sadness and happiness all at once. Though, I don't think I have more tears on me. This book left me dehydrated.
I can't even think coherently right now. All I can say this was an amazing experience. A such well-written story that touched so many aspects that left me speechless. Kudos to the authors.
It's addictive. As I said, I couldn't put it down. Many times I will wake up at 6 am to keep reading. Yes, that's the only way I can voluntarily wake up at those ungodly hours.
I mean, how cannot I be obsessed if it's full of romance, soul-shattering moments, action, suspense, comedy, hotness and of course, "OMG, I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT HAPPENED","PLEASE DON'T LET HIM BE DEAD" or "Fucking die already, bitch!" screams? All those factors create a mind-blowing story, impossible not to want to devour it.
I didn't know what to expect with Fade, but the whole series certainly ruined my life. I still can't shake the feeling of terror and heartache I had from the very beginning. This book is +10000 stars for me and I'd undergo all the pain of reading it again because it's totally worthy and who knows if I missed something the first time around?
I'm completely in love with these books and with Boyd, Hsin, Emilio, Zach, Ryan, Kassian, Owen, Harriet, and so on... ;)
(view spoiler)[I just can't believe Boyd lost his eye. My only comfort is to think that a pirate look might work perfectly on him. Still, as I told Vir: Es mejor tuerto, que muerto. ;P (hide spoiler)]...more

This book was delicious, there isn't any other way for me to describe it.
Yes, it was a rollercoaster of emotion, but omg Hsin and Boyd.
I'm so proud of Boyd, he certainly went through a change in this book. Nothing too big to make it feel unbelievable, but it was significant enough for you to see that he isn't the same selfish brat he was since book one.
"I live you more than I've ever loved anyone. I think about you all the time. It's been hell trying to keep myself away- every time you're close I just want to touch you. I would do anything for you. And if I could have anything in the world right now, I would be in a relationship with you."
He loves Hsin, he has his priorities well established now and that's all that matters to me.
Hsin, my baby. He's still amazing in everything he does, he's not suffering so much anymore and he's crazy in love with his little blond.
"It doesn't change that I still want him, I still want to be with him, I still feel like the fucking air has been sucked out of the room when he walks in and I still think about him all the time."
Interludes felt totally different from the other books, I don't know if it was due to the change that the characters underwent but even Hsin and Boyd's relationship felt different. It was more intense, honest and hotter. Gez, they wanted to be just like in Monterrey but I feel like this time is way better than anything they had before!
And omg, I laughed so hard with Hsin. His sarcasm and his witty crack me up. It's good to know that those kinds of stuff were genetically inherited ;).
"I have occasional nightmares about us having a threesome with that meat-head. I'm far from being easily shocked."
(For him was a nightmare, for me is something I need in real action now.)

Sebastian Cruz is the hot and scowly professor that had my heart at full speed. Tristan Holt is a professional hockey player that decided to go back to school to have a backup plan in case things go south with hockey.
From the first pages, I was hooked. I don't know if it was because this was partly Avon's work or what, but I loved every second of it. The dialogues were witty and the plot was fast-paced. I never got bored. I sighed, laughed, blushed and swooned almost the whole book.
I haven't read Piper's work so I wouldn't know how she added her magic here but I think these two meshed their writings and ideas pretty well.
I flat-out love how Tristan went back to his study even though he knew it was going to be difficult because of his hockey stuff and I love he wasn’t discouraged because of his hockey mates who didn’t understand why he bothered. He’s brave and hard working and you have no idea how I adore those kinds of people.
And oh my god, KINKY SEX ALERT!!!
The sex was hot af. It was bossy and dirty, though this kinky stuff of humiliating someone during the sex isn't my cup of tea I have to admit it was hot as hell and I could stand it because I *cough* love bossy men in bed *cough*
I enjoy the way the relationship developed: it was smooth and real -just like the characters -and I must say the UST at the beginning was the best part for me. I always love slow build-ups. aaaaaaand just like every couple they obviously had issues. The way these two authors kicked those problems out of the picture was perfect. No unnecessary drama or rash conclusion.
Another fantastic hit on the sports romance department. Highly recommended.

I have no idea what I’m going to write but this book deserves some kind of rambling where I say how wonderful it was.
Autoboyography made me cry like a baby.
This is a beautiful and heartbreaking love story about a boy writing about his life and how he fell in love with a complicated guy. The story was complex, it was funny, it was sad, and it melted my heart. Oh gosh, this was a rollercoaster of emotions.
Tanner is the bisexual boy from California that moved into a Mormon’s town. Sebastian, as the blurb says, is the Mormon prodigy. Both MC are completely different and that is what makes this story so appealing.
Tanner has never been a believer and after his parents best wishes he falls for the last person he should have. Sebastian’s religious choice doesn’t stop Tanner from trying to understand him and accept him, even when the “not-judging thing” was so difficult thanks to all the injustices of the church.
“In summary: love and respect, but only if you’re willing to live by their rules… and if not, then exclusion is the only answer.”
The author made a great job researching the religious stuff and working inside Sebastian and Tanner’s head. They had so much to accept and to grow and I flat-out loved watching them going through this journey. And right now I am ignoring so hard my thoughts about religion, otherwise, this review will end up being a ranting about this controversial issue.
This is a story about friendship, family, and finding who you are and accepting it.
The family plays an important role in this book, which I adored. Tanner’s family reminded of my own and more than once that put a smile on my face because they were super awesome! Supportive, loving, funny. Everything you could wish for.
Oh gosh, I finished this like a week ago but remembering and rereading my highlights make me want to cry, laugh and swoon all over again.
Tanner’s voice captivated me. It was amazing, genuine and full of life and innocence. The MCs were complex and well developed, every situation felt real and they were reliable. This book made me travel through time and remember all the thing that eighteen-years-old-Dani did.
“Give me a molecular modeling kit and I’ll build you the most beautiful organic compound you’ve ever seen. But ask me to pull something straight of my gut and share it with the world? Mental mayhem.”
Sebastian and Tanner’s relationship is complicated but their love for each other, their words, their moments, made me swoon and sight. The slow-burn was delicious, I enjoy every second of them falling in love.
Christina Lauren has a way with words so spectacular that I highlighted almost the whole damn book.
“His smiled ruins me.”
“My heart belongs to him right now, and until he decides what he wants to do with it, I can’t take it back.”
Aaaand I’ll stop right there. I want everyone to read this story and to love Tanner as much as I did.
So many feelz that my heart was ready to burst from chapter 1.
AHG, so many things happen in this book thatI BLOODY LOVED THIS BOOK. SO, SO PERFECT.
So many feelz that my heart was ready to burst from chapter 1.
AHG, so many things happen in this book that I don’t want to spoil anything! I’ll just pour my feeling randomly.
As the book says, Monty is supposed to be a “gentleman.” He’s suppose to run a state or something like that but instead of learning how to do that he’s taking advantage of his good looks to fool around with boys and girls, drinking until he can’t stand upright or remember his name and disgracing his family’s name by being spelled from school for his inappropriate behavior.
Monty is a walking mess with a complicated life and if you read the book, you’ll understand that there is so much more than the façade he shows to people. And as if all that wasn’t enough, he’s in love with his best friend, Percy, who has always been next to him in every shenanigan.
“The great tragic love story of Percy and me is neither great nor truly a love story, and is tragic only for its single-sidedness”
Oh man, did I love this book *sigh*
I adored Monty’s voice. He was funny, witty, sarcastic, and thoughtful at times.
“We're not courting trouble," I say. "Flirting with it, at most.”
Besides, you can’t leave here without me telling you that Percy and Monty were spectacular. AND FELICITY!!! Monty’s sister, who was a pain in the ass sometimes, but a great character as well. I LOVED THEM ALL.
And you know, the story… There’s this thing that Monty calls “the Grand Tour”. It’s a tour around the continent with Percy and Felicity. This is his last chance to live his life before taking charge of his father’s state and marrying some girl his dad decides but obviously, things aren’t quite easy. Everything messes up because of Monty (dah) and they are now are separated from their company in an unknown country, without money or papers, and with some bad guys chasing them to kill them.
And you may say that there’s nothing else that could go wrong but those are famous last words, my friend. There’s a secret to be told, there are pirates, fortune tellers, alchemists, a sinking island, everything you imagine! Or that you cannot imagine. This book certainly is quite a journey.
And as I said, full of feelz. My heart aches for Monty. I was so mad for the injustice that he went through because of his dad and sometimes because of his sister. Granted, he earned the way he was treated because of his behavior, but it if he just had had a chance to just be… So, so unfair!
Mackenzie did an excellent job writing an authentic character. I love watching him grow. The way Monty develops during the story is absu-freacking-lutely amazing! My favorite character development of all the time!
“We are not broken things, neither of us. We are cracked pottery mended with laquer and flakes of gold, whole as we are, complete unto each other. Complete and worthy and so very loved.”
and oh my, my… the UST is strong. Lady and gentlemen, this is a YA book, you won’t find sex in here. Kisses and groping is the most you’ll find but that was enough to drive me crazy and make me sigh and swoon because Percy and Monty are just pure perfection.
I had fun reading this, Monty is so funny and his interactions with Felicity just cracked me up.
“I think I broke my hand.” “You’ve not broken your hand,” Felicity says. “I should know, it’s my hand.”
The resolution of the book was something I kinda see it coming but not in the way it happened. It was fantastic, really. It was necessary what happened to Monty at the end. It’s creepy but I think it humanizes him more. After all that time acting that way to drive crazy his parents, he needed to be brought down to earth.
AH! I can’t recommend this book enough. Everyone must read it. Be ready for the best adventure of all!
Those are the words that come up to my mind after reading this story.
Saying that I wasn’t an emHeartbreaking.
Brilliantly written.
Endearing.
Barbaric.
Those are the words that come up to my mind after reading this story.
Saying that I wasn’t an emotional wreck at the end of this will be an understatement. I do admit I didn’t cry because I’m a tough girl but I won’t lie saying that I didn’t feel like it either.
This book is one of those that haven’t stopped popping in my feed and I’ve inevitably read thousand of reviews. I didn’t want to read it at first because I didn’t want to have my soul crushed and after a while Ky came to me and asked me to buddy read with her so I agreed just because I thought that I already knew what was going to happen and that ‘knowledge’ was going to help me not to be a crying wrecked at the end. Geez, I shouldn’t have underestimated the power of this bloody book.
It was both beautiful and brutal and let me completely raw at the end. My heart doesn’t only aches for Axios and Eryx but also for Quill, Theon, and Haden. *gasp* Even thinking about then after having 3 days that I finished it takes my breath away and waters my eyes.
This book was so much more than only Axios and Eryx's relationship as I let myself believe at first. It also is about loyalty, honor, discipline, friendship, love, and family.
The former completely swept me off my feet. That is a soft spot for me. Seeing all of them becoming friends and then realizing they were brothers was what did it for me.
I want to write more, to share everything I thought of this story but I can’t even look for my highlights without having a meltdown. I didn’t cry after finishing this but I may start right now so I’m leaving this as it is.
I can’t give it 5 stars because even though it was a beautiful story it wasn’t perfect. It had dull moments and it was a bit repetitive at a time. And the King was something I felt totally unnecessary.
Sorry for not being capable of writing something that resembles more a review instead of a bunch of random words with half spit feelings.

I didn’t want this story to be over. I wanted it to be endless, I absolutely loved it and I’m completely in love with Cam, Brady and Lucy. I even started liking the Faceless!!!!
This story picks up where ‘Dark Space’ left. After being abducted by the faceless, Brady and Cam are back to earth to take care of Lucy, also to try to build a life together and to get over the horrors they went through.
Brady is still a work in progress, his attitude has gotten even worse because he's really unsatisfied with his ‘professional’ life, he feels useless next to Cam and he has a hard time understanding why Cam is with a f*cking reffo from Kopa. But that’s not all. The government still has its claws in Cam and Brady’s live. Pocking and studying them every now and then to make sure they aren’t still sharing a connection between them and the faceless.
They have pretty big issues to overcome in this book to really get to their HEA.
The romance keeps flowing beautifully in this second installment. I was afraid at the beginning because I wasn’t feeling their love connection. I thought that was gone along with their mind connection but thankfully it was still there. I just got overwhelmed by everything that Brady was going through in his head. Saying he got issues is an understatement. Thankfully, he works to overcome those issues and I couldn’t be prouder! His character development was something I really enjoyed in this story. Besides, he needed to fix his fucked up mind because the problems they got themselves into in this book are even worse than in the first book. (Let me say that not all of them are because of Brady, hard to believe, hu?)
I hope there would be a third book because this can’t be the end, can it? I need more. I need the friendships that are developed in this book to be further explored! Besides, I can’t get enough of Brady and Cam!!! They are bloody adorable, hot, endearing, hot, lovely and hot…. Did I say hot? Even if the steam is lower in this book I still think they’re hot and insanely perfect together! Mind connection or not, they are meant to be together.
This is one of those books I’ll give more than 5 stars if I could.

THIS WAS BLOODY AMAZING. Cam and Brady took my breath away. Books with MCs able to read minds are my crack and if it weren’t for Vir, I wouldn’t have found this gem by my own.
3 generations ago, the earth was attacked by aliens –aka. The Faceless- and now they have created space station where men are conscripted so they can fight against the Faceless when they’ll decide to return because they are obviously coming back, aren’t they?
Brady Garret was enlisted when he was 16 and now he has to spend 10 years of service. He’s 19 now and he’s sick of being in the space. After 3 years, he can’t help but hate everything about Defender Three (the space station), he has some good friends (as Doc who is able to see his potential as a doctor) but he doesn’t care, he can’t wait to be back to earth because he can’t stop worrying about his little sister and his Dad. He has a case of really bad attitude, I mean, I get him. He’s a recruit against his will and he’s afraid as hell of the faceless. And if things weren’t bad enough, Cameron Rushon is back.
Cam was kidnapped 4 years ago by The Faceless and out of the blue, he’s back to Defender Three and he’s in a weird alien pot. Brady is called to help to get Cam out of that alien pot but things go wrong in the process and Brady seems himself in a precarious situation where he’s the only one capable of keeping Cam alive by sharing his heartbeat through touch. And as the blurb says, they are connected not only by their heartbeat but also by their thoughts, dreams, and memories.
I loved every single page of this book. Everything was brilliantly built and written, I was sucked into the story from the beginning; I adore MC with a bad attitude! Not to mention that when Cam enters the picture things get even better for me! I just couldn't put it down. It was hot, passionate, the plot was really great (aliens! there's nothing better than aliens!) and it had a sense of doom that added the perfect amount of angst.
Brady and Cam go to my shelf of the 'best-couple'. I'm head over heel with them.
I must add they are very different and that's what made them fit so perfectly. I’d say Cam is pretty lay-back even after everything he went through and Brady is very pessimist, he hasn’t seen the good side of life until he meets Cam and he improves his mood just a little.
Besides, their connection goes through a whole new level. Sharing thoughts, feelings, and memories is a unique way to know and to fall in love with someone. The sexual tension at the beginning was so great, I liked seeing how Brady started to lose himself in Cam, I mean, it’s almost impossible to resist this hot Lieutenant. Not to mention, that having wet dreams about Cam’s ex-boyfriend made a Brady very horny…
I’ll shut up now! If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?

Besides, this is a story that contains so much more that it was almost impossible for me not to love it. It’s my first book of K.A. Merikan and you can consider me a new fan of them.
Beast – 2017
Twelve years ago he was in an accident that left him disfigured. He’s 32 years old now and he has covered all his scars with tattoos that give him a look of a mean and badass biker (which he totally is but he’s also a great man underneath that horrible layer)
Laurent
He’s a 19 years old man who works as a servant in 1805. He has a long and gorgeous hair and he has always been attracted to men but due to the time, he can’t give in his desires so easily. He’s a bookworm and when he finally finds someone who shares the same passion for books as him and also seems interested in him, Laurent doesn’t hesitate and goes for it ignoring that people aren't as nice as they claim to be.
Things don’t go as expected for Laurent and he suddenly finds himself doing a pact with the devil and traveling to 2017 where he meets Beast… I won’t keep saying more of the story because there are several things that you must find out by yourself.
What I will say is that this goes directly to my shelf of favorite books. I was engrossed from beginning to end. The writing was just amazing and they were constantly quoting Inferno from Dante Alighieri and that was definitely a plus for me.
The characters were so well developed and the concept of time travel was well created. Laurent captivated me. More than once I burst laughing so hard because of him that I needed a few minutes to compose myself. His innocent and ignorance of 2017 hovered over the edge of being too funny and too endearing at the same time. Besides, Laurent’s obsession with plastic was my undoing. Tbh, now every time I see my mom’s Tupperware I’ll start hugging them because Laurent made me realized that plastic actually rocks! (and almost everything is made of plastic nowadays, how didn’t I notice that?)
Obviously, I won’t ignore Beast. He also took a part of my heart and made this story so much better because he was so freaking real! His attitude, his fears, his insecurities were so real that took my breath away because I have shamelessly thought the same way as him at one point in my life. Just like Beast with Laurent, I’ve got to resent the person I love even for the most stupid thing, which I’m not proud of. This book reminds me we are humans! We aren’t flawless and we can be mean to others just for all the wrong reasons! Sometimes, he also used to put himself first just for his own sake (just like we sometimes do) and because of that, he ended up doing some stupid shit. Thankfully he knew when to take his head out of his ass and amend things. So yeah, Beast was a reliable character and that made me loved him so much and it helps me to understand where he was coming from.
Also, I adore that Laurent was capable of seeing beyond Beast’s scars and the way these authors made them fall in love was so smooth and natural. It wasn't forced, it was so subtle and well written that you can almost miss the moment they finally fall for each other.
Another plus for me was the creepiness! The whole thing was developed in a building that used to be an asylum! Oh man, you don’t know how much I love story that gives me goose bumps and makes me want to look around to check if I am still alone in the room. Those stories are so worthy! Besides, it was like watching a horror movie. So, so great!

The blurb wasn’t so appealing and reading the reviews didn’t give me much hope about it but I’m glad I gave it a chance! I thought Henry’s cluelessness was going to pull me out of the story but this feature of him turned out to be so fricking lovely! Besides, characters that are socially awkward are my jam! I always have a blast with this type of stories.
I can’t give it 5 stars because the scene almost at the end with Henry and his brother didn’t convince me. That admission was kind of harsh and it made the ending way too abrupt for my liking.
The rest was just perfection to me. Ash is the man of my dream now.

Another amazing romance story from Santino. I didn’t know I was going to love it so much but Caleb hooked me from the very beginning and believe me when I say I didn’t see that coming because I hated him from Sunset Park. I thought he was a pretentious prick but Oh.My.God. I just clicked with him so fast… I guess it was a combination of Santino’s amazing writing style and Caleb’s thoughts. His pain and the way he felt so lost sucked me completely into the story, it gave me so many explanations of why he behaved that way in Sunset Park that made it impossible for me to keep hating him.
I was already curious about Oli since I met him in the previous book and If I’m honest, I started reading this because of him but I won’t keep saying how much I loved this book and how I don’t regret a single second of this book, I promise.
Santino certainly knows how to write hot sex because Oli and Caleb together were on fire! These two had so much chemistry and the best thing of all is their relationship doesn’t spin around hot sex only; we get some serious relationship and personal development, which I absolutely adore!
Besides, those who are not a fan of Santino’s work, you should know that he usually gives us characters that aren’t perfect, that have flaws and that sometimes are pretty messed up. This wasn't heavy in the angst department, but yeah, Caleb had some issues to resolve to be completely happy, so you won't get back-to-back sex.
To end my praises to Santino I’ll just say that I enjoyed side characters of this story, they were pretty awesome too. Aidan is by far my favorite; he was funny and pretty laid-back. I liked to read more about him because he obviously had a rough past.
I’m looking forward to rereading it pretty soon. It’s one of my favorite books from this series, Oli and Caleb go directly to my ‘best-couple’ shelf....more

In this still apocalyptic world, Sin and Boyd go to an undercover mission to México where both experience things that put their lives upside-down. What an adventure – I must say. Going to México with Sin and Boyd was a hell of a ride. I was on edge on my seat almost the whole book.
This second volume took a different approach in comparison to Volume one. We saw how this miscommunication elf didn’t stand a chance with Sin and Boyd wanting to work things out so they could live in ‘peace’ and be better partners to each other. You have no idea how happy I was seeing my boys talking to each other, sharing feelings, and memories. It was just what I needed. And learning what a sweet talker is Sin just killed me.
“You have no idea how much things have changed, how much you changed me and made my life worth a damn. Without you, there’s nothing.”
This journey added many obstacles in their way but at least something good came out of it and it was Boyd and Sin relationship, I said it in my Volumne’s 1 review: they’re good to each other. In this book, I saw how they become more intimate, how they started to support each other and how they unconsciously help each other to heal. That’s good, especially to Sin, who has never known love –which breaks my heart, btw– and Boyd is teaching him something precious. I know they’ll have more difficult moments in the future but I'm not worried about it because as Wendy told me ‘they are meant to be.’ (She said in a more poetic way but I can’t remember exactly her words)
This slow burn is undoubtedly my favorite. It’s certainly one of the best that someone had ever written and I can’t help but love it. The tension between them was so well built that got me on the edge until they finally got together and man…. There were explosions, sparkles, and fire!!!!!!
The writing was amazing as always and I really enjoyed the Spanish and French dialogues, they were amazingly written and they had the accents were where they should! So, well done Santino and Ais.
My only problem was that I couldn’t understand some Mexican's slang, (Vir had to google some of them because that shit ain’t easy unless you’re Mexican) and I can’t imagine how difficult and annoying were those dialogues for people who don't know Spanish/French.
To end my babbling, I just have to say that the way this book ended makes me uneasy because I know that bitch Vivien will make my life (and Boyd and Sin’s) miserable. Not to mention, that was the weakest HFN I’ve ever read!!!!!! But I’m so ready for what is coming next, I’m ready to suffer, to hate, to cry, to yell and to have my heart broken. Someone give me the booze, please!
I mean, Sloane Kennedy put her touch in here. I’ve already tried one book from Sloane and I can say her stylFEELS, so many feelings with this book!!!
I mean, Sloane Kennedy put her touch in here. I’ve already tried one book from Sloane and I can say her style works almost perfectly for me. I’m pretty sure the angst, tension, and drama were all her doing and I think Lucy was the one who lightens the story with her awkward trademark of the weird naked lady (Xander’s aunt), the cuteness and corny moments.
The writing of these two women meshes perfectly, the way they manage the story was just amazing and you can tell these ladies did their research about nature and wilderness because everything was so well explained and precise.
This actually isn’t a second chance love. Before going on differents path, the MCs were too young to have a romantic relationship. Even when they had feelings for each other, things happen and they just didn't get a chance to explore their attraction.
Basically, the story is about Bennett and Xander, they’ve been friends since they were 5 years old. This is the typical story of the “rich and poor boy”, but they don’t let those lables to get in the way of their friendship. Their parents used to get along until Xander’s mom leaves and his dad starts to work for Bennett’s dad in their house as a gardener but the new status of Xander’s father didn’t affect their friendship until they started high school. They start to grow apart and I won’t say what happened because I don’t want to spoil the story.
Along the way, they developed feelings for each other but one night things go to hell between Bennett and Xander and that’s why they couldn’t explore their attraction.
Fifteen years later they encounter each other again when Bennett hires the wilderness expedition company where Xander works. Xander comes off as bitter and rash with Bennett at first and what pissed me off was that he was being an irrational resentful in the middle of nowhere with kids under his care, and I kind of hate that he got his shit together after Aidan (Bennett’s best friend) complained about it. I mean, he was right because Xander was being completely unprofessional.
And I guess Bennett shouldn’t have accepted all the crap that came from Xander but objectively he felt guilty about what happened and I guess that was a ‘self-flagellation’ thing.
I always pay special attention at how the MC will fix things between them and I liked that Bennett and Xander’s progression was slowly and before they could start to forgive each other they made a truce. I mean, things weren’t forgotten at first, they manage to get things right in a way I think was credible.
I hate when the MCs let their issues aside just to fuck like bunnies; in here, as I said before, they made a truce for the sake of the travel and the kids. With the truce, they were capable of talking, catching up with their lives, joking for the good old days, and after a while, fucking like bunnies.
Bennet had a piece of me I’d never be able to give to anyone else. A big piece.
Bennet and Xander melted my heart, they were so sweet together, and sometimes they were even funny! And when they stopped fighting and started being good to each other I couldn’t stop grinning because they were so freaking adorable!
I’d loved Xander from the moment I’d spied him through the car window, sitting on that swing, his sad eyes on his faded Transformers sneakers.
I really enjoyed this book. Even the side characters were amazing. The one I mentioned before, Aidan, was an asshole at first, but when I realized that he just wanted to protect Bennett, I started liking him. Eventually, assholes buy my heart *sigh*
Lucky was such an adorable kid and along with Bear, Xander’s dog, they were the most adorable thing in this book and I hope Lucky will have his own book too.
I’ll keep reading this series because I’m so intrigued by Jake (Xander's friend) and Aidan, especially Aidan because the sneak peak I read from his book was my undoing. I can’t wait!
I saw not everyone loved it or they had some things that bothered them. I don’t think I had had any inconvenience with the story and if I did I can’t remember because the things I loved about it don’t let me think about anything else. Kennedy and Lennox wrapped up the plot pretty well and I’m so pleased with the ending. I certainly adored Lost and Found and I couldn’t be happier that my 100th book of 2017 was a success for me.
A Way With Word melt my heart and kept a silly grin on my face the whole book.
This is a story about coming out and being the real you.
Tony is in hisA Way With Word melt my heart and kept a silly grin on my face the whole book.
This is a story about coming out and being the real you.
Tony is in his 30s and he’s been living a lie all his life. He’s gay and he struggles to keep this as a secret from his very large and noisy Italian family. He wanted to keep with the straight façade but his meddling family couldn’t stop setting him up with random women from time to time and he started to get sick of the lies he’s been telling and sick of pretending something he’s not.
Besides, he can’t stop ogling the cute guy who plays the guitar for tips near his construction site. The moment when Remy and Tony you can’t deny the sparkles they ignite.
Tony and Remy are the sweetest things ever. Tony is not very good with words except when he’s with Remy. Everything he said to him melted my heart and left me speechless. I’m pretty sure Remy and I agree that it was almost impossible not to fall for Tony who’s adorable, funny and caring.
This was a pretty short book, fast paced and undoubtedly the one that has a way with words is Lane.
Also, I enjoyed this story pretty much because Tony’s family reminds me of mine and that was super sweet.
I knew without a doubt that my sexuality was part of my truth. Remy was part of my truth
One morning I woke, but the two halves of my heart did not.
That’s the very first line of this book and it was exactly what made me read it.
Loved it.
One morning I woke, but the two halves of my heart did not.
That’s the very first line of this book and it was exactly what made me read it.
Loved it. This book was so perfect in many ways.
This is not a fluffy story at all, it deals with lots of dark emotions and it is not an easy read.
As I already said it is such an emotional story that wraps you from the very beginning. Summers has a way with words that makes you feel Archer and Mallory’s pain as it was your own. You’ll get one or two tears rolling down your face at very least.
"People could see the storm cloud hanging over my head and the phantom at my back. They could hear the shattered glass clanking in my throat when I spoke, see a void in my eyes when my gaze met their own. I was broken now, and I was utterly unfixable."
Angst. It definitely has its dose of angst but you won’t drown in your own tears with this book, those who are not an angst-junkie as me, you won’t have any problem. It’ll just remind you that happiness is not so easy to get and you sometimes have to be strong and determined enough to fight for it.
Now, the story. We have two moments in this book, Before that is told by Archer and After that's from Mallory's POV and both POV are really difficult to read at times. I’ll try to this review as spoiler free as possible.
Archer is a 21-year-old guy who’s grieving a lot by the loss of his parents and Mallory is around 38 and he’s trying to move on from the death of his wife.
These two meet each other thanks to Danny, who is Mallory’s son and Archer’s best friend. And after a terrible incident, Archer is forced to live with Mallory and that’s when their story begins…
I gotta say that Danny is awesome, he’s the only good thing that Archer allows himself to have before he meets Danny’s dad. Danny and Archer relationship is pure brotherly and I like seeing that is that way the entire book, I adore how Danny loves and cares for Archer’s wellbeing. Even after some issues, Danny is still there for him.
“You’re like a brother to me, Archer. You’re not perfect, but no one is. And if I met a billion people on this planet, I’d still choose you. You and your silent fucking depression - you and your quite heart and your fear of living.”
Archer and Mallory are very similar. Both are in pain and both are reserved people who liked to deal with things alone. Let me say that this slow burn was incredible and Summers did an excellent job writing a love that feels so real. It was refreshing that we didn’t have insta love/lust in here; their attraction grew little by little and when they just fall into each other arms was delicious.
“People fall into each other in different ways. Some people fall together in laughter, surrounded by energy and joy. Some fall into each other in passion, unable to keep their skin from touching. But Mallory and I fell into each other slowly, gently, tentatively, like almost everything we did. We were quite and fluid.”
Summers give us a story so well written, her prose is so captivating. Both POV were brilliant, they help you to connect better with the MC because they are so closed off that it was kinda necessary and I adore Archer and Mallory have their own voices that are pretty easy to differentiate in their POV. I also liked very much the time jump; it added more realism to the story.
Overall, the author makes it difficult to put the book down to continue with RL, you just get lost in the story and the characters that the only thing you want to do is devoured the book in one sitting and then after you finished you can’t stop thinking about it.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a story about grieving, love, and healing....more
