This was a delicious slow burn with age-gap and what I liked the most was that the story was developed in Germany and part in Spain. Different settings that I'm not used to read, it makes this author so unique and more appealing to me.
4 stars because I didn't find it as amazing as The Layover and because Chris annoyed the hell out of me going behind Alexander back to read his work when he clearly said 'no'. I know he meant well but that's a way of betraying someone's trust and I just can't accepted and let it go that easily.
*sigh* Anyway... I highly recommend it because it's a short story worth reading and what bothered me might be nothing for someone else, so don't mind me :-P....more

My Dark Knight starts around 3 month later were Laurent and The Beast left. I guess it can be as standalone but I strongly suggest you not to do it because there are important details in the previous book you need to know.
Leaving that out of the way, I’ll start with my ramblings.
I met Knight in the first book, as a side character he stole my heart because he’s not only extremely good-looking but he also is super smart and he’s fascinated with history. He’s Beast best friend and a very attentive person. He owns his nickname for a reason because he’s always helping those in need.
Elliot aka The Count. We never saw him in the previous book but Knight mentions him because he has a Youtube Channel where he claims his love for William Fane, the serial killer who tried to kill our precious Laurent in 1800.
Obviously, Knight considers Elliot as his nemesis because he has an unhealthy obsession with the person who tried to kill his ancestor. Let me get this clear, Elliot considers that William didn’t do anything wrong. All those dead? He thinks they were amazing and that Williams did what he had to do to defend himself from those boys he killed and Elliot just want to be consumed by him. Uhmm, yeah…
[image]
At the beginning is hard to see past Elliot’s obsession because it’s kind of unnerving (and funny) but I got to know him better… Yeah, he has a nasty taste in men but who hasn’t? At some point in our lives, we wanted a bad boy, though Elliot’s tastes almost cost him his life and let’s just be grateful that Knight likes to save people.
I liked him very much because he was smart, innocent and gorgeous. He and Knight challenged each other and connected so quickly that it was obvious they were meant to be together even if Knight didn’t want to accept it. They couldn’t keep their hands to themselves, this book has more steam than the previous which was pretty nice but it was something I didn’t really enjoy and I tell you about this later.
I like what K.A. Merikan did with this story. The darkness continues, the devil still lives in the walls (or mirrors) of King of Hell’s club. This story took a twist I didn’t see coming! I’m a fan of the paranormal and ghosts and what K.A. Merikan give us is great.
They deliver a different form of a ghost story because the possession doesn’t happen in the way I’m used to watching on TV. I like they don’t sugar coat what happens here and they don’t shy away of hurting their MC if it’s necessary. As hard as it was to read it, the things that happened to Elliot were necessary to make this story even creepier and scarier.
Why did I say that I didn’t enjoy the sex scenes? (view spoiler)[Well, Elliot was possessed! How on earth do you want to fuck when you have something evil inside you? And knowing that thing was watching… (hide spoiler)] It just made me cringe and made me so uncomfortable. I like creepy and pervy things but I guess I have my limits.

Overall, I recommend this story. It’s totally worth it. It is sweet and angsty, it gives you goose bumps and it makes you laugh. I don’t know how all that works so well together but it does.
I hope this darkness and paranormal things continue in the next book because I just realized that’s what makes this story so appealing to me.
I read this book a while ago but I had completely forgotten to review and to rate it.
Another amazing romance story from Santino. I didn’t know I was I read this book a while ago but I had completely forgotten to review and to rate it.
Another amazing romance story from Santino. I didn’t know I was going to love it so much but Caleb hooked me from the very beginning and believe me when I say I didn’t see that coming because I hated him from Sunset Park. I thought he was a pretentious prick but Oh.My.God. I just clicked with him so fast… I guess it was a combination of Santino’s amazing writing style and Caleb’s thoughts. His pain and the way he felt so lost sucked me completely into the story, it gave me so many explanations of why he behaved that way in Sunset Park that made it impossible for me to keep hating him.
I was already curious about Oli since I met him in the previous book and If I’m honest, I started reading this because of him but I won’t keep saying how much I loved this book and how I don’t regret a single second of this book, I promise.
Santino certainly knows how to write hot sex because Oli and Caleb together were on fire! These two had so much chemistry and the best thing of all is their relationship doesn’t spin around hot sex only; we get some serious relationship and personal development, which I absolutely adore!
Besides, those who are not a fan of Santino’s work, you should know that he usually gives us characters that aren’t perfect, that have flaws and that sometimes are pretty messed up. This wasn't heavy in the angst department, but yeah, Caleb had some issues to resolve to be completely happy, so you won't get back-to-back sex.
To end my praises to Santino I’ll just say that I enjoyed side characters of this story, they were pretty awesome too. Aidan is by far my favorite; he was funny and pretty laid-back. I liked to read more about him because he obviously had a rough past.
I’m looking forward to rereading it pretty soon. It’s one of my favorite books from this series, Oli and Caleb go directly to my ‘best-couple’ shelf....more

As usual, I starteSantino Hassel is my weakness. No. Scratch that. Santino’s writing style is my weakness and his collaboration with Ais was splendid.
As usual, I started this without reading the blurb, I was almost blind. I only knew the little things that my beautiful friend Vir told me. I didn’t know what the hell was going on; I just was sucked into the story thanks to Santi’s beautiful prose.
I already have my fair share of dystopian stories by now so I’m quite taken aback by how perfectly this story worked for me. I flat out loved the world building and the characters development. This book is like crack, I couldn’t put it down. I’m writing this and all I can think of is in the next book and how anxious I am to start reading it, so I’ll be quick.
Short story long: this story takes place in a world that has been destroyed by a World War III and after this event; the world hasn’t been able to completely recover. There are a lot of crimes and terrorist attacks, mostly done by one organization called Janus. There’s this other organization, that is called "The Agency” and they exist to stop Janus. The Agency is a fuck up place that has a unique weapon: Agent Hsin Liu Vega or also known as “Sin” or “The Monster”. He’s an incredibly hot and well-trained assassin with spectacular green eyes. Sin has this new partner, Boyd Beaulieu, he’s not a well-trained assassin but he’s a pretty good agent and he’s also a hottie and broody guy with long blond hair. *drooling*.
God, this book is intense and bloody. Sometimes, I had to stop because the images were so real in my head, the way they were written was so vivid that most often than not I closed my eyes as if I were watching a movie and I waited that the moment was going to be over when I opened my eyes but NO. Silly me, I constantly forgot that I was actually reading a book and not watching a movie… So imagine how well-written this book is.
Characters.- There were some side characters pretty fantastic, like Carhart, Ryan, and Luke, but that's it. Because the rest were... OMG, I just wanted them all dead. I know the world would be a better place without them. They were so mean and psycho, seriously dude. That’s why I said the Agency is a fucked up place because they hire psycho and uncontrolled people that I still don’t understand how that place is even still functioning… Boyd’s mom is a bitch. I had to say it. Otherwise, I was going to explode. And Harry… dear, you got what you deserved and I’m so happy.
Sin and Boyd.- Ok, I don’t even know what to say about them. Saying that Boyd and Sin are messed up is an understatement. They had their fair share of horror to last a lifetime and the saying ‘old habits die hard’ is very appropriate to them. I’m not saying they don’t change or whatsoever but they try and it makes their character and relationship development really enjoyable and realistic. They are good to each other and you can tell there are significant changes in their behaviors at the end that are pretty great in comparison to how they were at the beginning.
And these two were definitely visited by the miscommunication elf who raised his ugly head to make their life (and mine) so difficult. They don’t learn and I hope they will learn how to properly communicate in the next Volume because I’ll lose my mind. They need to stop looking into each other’s files when they want to know something about the other, they need to stop making assumptions and they need to stop criticizing without giving a useful solution. But, I was amused by their bickering, so that wasn’t a problem for me. Seeing them pushing each other buttons was the best thing ever.
Finally, this is the slowest slow burn ever and I’m pretty happy about it. I love the tension, I love the stolen glances and I can’t wait to see was going to happen next *sigh*
What else can I say? This was intense and heartbreaking at the same time, Santino and Ais did a splendid job with this story and I highly recommend it. I don’t know why it took me so long to start this book, don’t make my mistake and read it now, seriously....more

Do you want a rollercoaster of emotion? Read this series.
Happiness, awe, shock, anger, tears, screams broken hearts. Name it. I’ve done it all. I’ve felt it all.
This second book is the best so far. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because it definitely deserves so much more. It was fast-paced, full of action and never left the romance behind.
Enemy of my enemy continues with Ethan and Jack’s journey as the most controversial couple in the world. I won’t get into the plot because I don’t want to spoil anything. You gotta suffer the same way I did *muahahaha*. If you want: read the blurb, it tells you enough about what you are getting into.
Ethan and Jack’s love just take my breath away. I adore the way they interact with each other and the way they *show me* how truly and deeply in love they are. That’s always a "must-have" for me when I’m reading, especially when it’s a sequel.
“I’m with you all the way”
Again, it hovered over the edge of being way too cheesy at the beginning but with everything that happened AFTER, I’m glad it was like that because I just grabbed myself to those words that were said at the beginning to continue reading through my (and Ethan’s) broken heart.
“I love you,” he breathed. “Know that. No matter what. I love you. And I’ll do anything for this love, Ethan. Anything”
God, seriously if Ethan hurts, I hurt even worse. And I didn't suffer only with him. There are some new side characters introduced by Bauer in this book that I immediately connected with. That’s what I like about Bauer, his writing style sucks you into the story and he makes you feel so much and so connected with the characters that it doesn’t matter who, as long as they are good people, you’ll feel their joy or pain. That’s what happened to me with Adam and Faisal *sigh*. Those two made the story way better for me… I was constantly waiting to read more about them and hoping they’ll stop hurting. They almost steal the show from Ethan and Jake. ALMOST.
And don’t get me started with Sergey and Sasha………….. AND DOC! I love that sarcastic bastard. Adam is a lucky one having him on his team. I hope none of them turns out being the bad guy or I swear I’ll lose my mind.
I’m so thankful for the several POV. It improves the reading experience, it makes you feel like you are watching a movie instead of reading a book and it helps you to get to know more things about different characters.
I like how Bauer continued developing this story. I’m utterly impressed by everything he had built till now; I’m envious of his mind, of his imagination. There are lots of thing going on and there are billion of things he has to take into account to put this story on the edge of realism that............ *gasp*
I’m kinda afraid this will happen on RL now…

I was nervous at first because I’m not a fan of politics and I was afraid I may put it down, but I just needed to give it a chance and dear lord!
I… couldn’t… stop… reading...
I was in the mood for something with a little bit more of action, that's why I ended up with this book. So happy it didn't disappoint me!
Love, action, suspense, conspiracy, betrayal, angst. It has it all!
Right now I can barely hold myself awake because I stayed up till 2 am finishing this. So I apologize for my ramblings. I was like: ‘one last chapter’… and then BUM! Something happened and it made me keep reading it. I was on the edge of my bed the whole night!
I wanted to scream, to laugh, to cry, *screams* I felt too much.
The beginning was a bit slow, but I get it because it's the first book and there were lots of introductions to be made. At 30% is when the romance starts to pick up and God, this was a sweet torture!!
I’m a sucker for slow burns and this completely did it for me! I adore their relationship, they’re super cute and their texts were so adorable and I couldn’t stop grinning like a high school girl.
The tension and the longing between Jack and Ethan were so intense and the plot just thickened with every page which made the story way better!
Bauer created a great story and all his characters were amazing, really well developed. I really like Collard and Daniels, those are really good friends man!
His writing style just sucked me more into the story and the banters were good! Silly and cheesy at times but those are my favorites so I really enjoyed them. Though I did some skimming, especially on politics moments that I truly didn’t get and on some in-depth description that Bauer gives because I just couldn’t keep up with a number of details. (It’s not a bad thing, now that I think of; I may have skimmed a bit mostly due to my lack of sleep.)
*4.5 stars!*

I was thinking, how am I supposed to write a review about this? My mind has been completely blown by this book so I’m pretty sure I don’t have any coherent thought for this.
This obviously isn’t a standalone because it continues where Enemy of My Enemy left off. Ethan and Jack are trying to stop the evil plans of the former General Madigan and they both continue being amazing together and I really enjoy seeing Jack being a badass.
“Their love has redefined our entire planet.”
What can I say that I haven’t already said with the other two books? Action-pack, plot twists after plot twists, secrets, betrayals, lies but multiplied x 1000. And I spent the whole book worrying about what was going to happen next. (The whole freaking series actually)
Of course, all those things are mixed with some swoony moments because Bauer never left the romance behind.
Again, we get to see some really tender and frustrated moment with the other couples – Sasha, Sergey, Adam and Faisal.
When it comes to favorite couples you know Adam and Faisal are fighting for the first place against Jack and Ethan. So, I was so happy seeing some relationship development for Adam and my dreamy prince.
“I love you, habibi. That love gives me strength. I won’t hide it. I won’t hide who I am. Not anymore.”
Sergey and Sasha. I was really curious to see how these two were going to end up together, I was afraid it was gonna be just like Jack and Ethan because they had some pretty similar situations but I’m glad with what I got. It was another sweet and *painful* slow burn. God, Sasha couldn’t be more stubborn.
“I am stronger with you because I love you. You are stronger when you love me, yes?” He nodded. He couldn’t speak. “Then let us be strong.”
But *there’s always a but* it wasn’t an easy read at all. It was more difficult to read than book 1 and 2. Maybe because my heart was still healing from what happened in book 2 or just because everything that happened in book 3 was so… AHG.
There’s no coherent word to explain everything that happens in this 3rd book, you gotta experience it on your own.
What got me on the edge of my seat and constantly fidgeting was the betrayal thing. There’s no one they could trust and I was losing my mind trying to figure out who the fucking mole was. The whole book I was “No, don’t say that! Don’t say he’s alive! You don’t know if you can trust him/her!” (view spoiler)[And I hate that Bauer made me doubt about Levi and Scott. You know I like them both very much because they’re really good friends to Ethan and I was gonna end up completely destroyed if they’d have been part of Magidan’s plan. (hide spoiler)]
Bauer did it again; I can’t stop saying how impressed I am. This was a contemporary story with a touch of futuristic aspects that I enjoyed very much.
I consider it was a long book, not because of the 400-ish pages it has, no. It’s long because all the things that happen. There are like 10 different situations going on, with different characters and it’s very hard to keep up with everything without going crazy. It was kinda of distracting because while I was reading what was happening with Adam and Faisal, I wanted the story to go back with Levi because I wanted to know more about the things he was doing.
Alright, the end… There are some loose strings that I think gives Bauer the power to continue this story if he wants to. Jack and Ethan conclude their journey in this book, they finally got their HEA but I’m afraid it can be an HFN. Those who already read this book knows that the world is a fucked up place and we saw how delicate happiness and peace is.
The world definitely is far from being restored after what happened with Madigan. Faisal and Adam have a long way to accomplish their HEA. (view spoiler)[ Faisal is going to be king and his kingdom hates gay men, so there’s no HEA for them yet. (hide spoiler)]
Sasha and Sergey, they also don’t have an HEA. They may be the next to get their own story *I hope they get their own story* (view spoiler)[ because Russia still has some work to do. Sasha is going to train with the NASA, they’ll have a long-distance relationship and they aren’t outed yet. We don’t actually know what will happen to them, we don’t even know if Russians are going to accept or condemn them. (hide spoiler)]
Though, if Bauer is going to do a story with them, I hope Faisal and Adam get theirs first.
What else can I say…? What happened on Enemy of the States is finally resolve so there’s no excuse for you to not start this series right away.

I had a hard time warming up to this story at the beginning. I was hesitant and I considered pausing it and coming back later but hey! I didn't. I continued because I knew I was going to start liking it at some point and I was glad I did it because once I was sucked in, I couldn’t stop reading. It was a really enjoyable reading.
Percy Freedman moved in with his Aunt Abby when he was 17 and that’s when he meets Callaghan Glover, his neighbor. From the very beginning, they considered each other nemesis. Fake nemesis, I must say. I never thought there would be a frenemies-to-lover story but hey, Anyta did it quite well!
Percy is 22 now and after his aunt’s death, he’s grieving and back at her house wishing she was still alive.
From the very moment he sets foot in his new inherited house, he has Cal next to him and the way he offsets him is a great way to keep him from falling apart in that house. I love their frenemies relationship. It turns out that Percy had a bigger motive to have Cal at arm’s length. That way he could stop himself from crushing on his straight and snarky neighbor.
They were super adorable together and I had a silly grin on my face almost from the beginning. Their snarky comments and sarcasm did it for me after I was sucked into the story (before it was kind of 'meh' for obvious reasons.) Their attraction after 30% or something was insanely strong and when they start admitting their feeling I couldn’t stop swooning with what they said to each other.
I think Leo loves Aries was better and I adored seeing Theo and Jaime again. That’s why I can’t give it 5 stars, besides I didn't actually find it funny at the beginning. I felt like I was missing something from the humor, I don't know. It wasn't as smooth as always but fortunately it got better, otherwise it would have been a strong 3 stars from me. Though, I felt their slow burn drag a little too long, it sort of worked for me. It added a sense of sensuality I thoroughly liked. Even if there aren't many sexy scenes going on, the feels and the passion when they finally get together make up for the lack of steam. It was intense and adorable!
I laugh and sigh a lot with the definitions you find between chapters and the ‘excerpt’ of the last word -commitment- was definitely my favorite and worked perfectly as a swoony epilogue. Those words were definitely my favorite part of the book.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a great and easy read.

Athletes + BDSM + age gap = a Dani very happy. YEY!
Andrews nailed it with this story. I don’t even care that I didn’t understand a shit when they were talking about baseball (I know, my bad. Not a big fan of baseball.)
If you are not a big fan of baseball either, let me warn you that the first 35% is mostly about that. The beginning is SLOW and after 45% is when the romance starts to pick up. However, that didn’t stop me from enjoying this story.
Andrews wrote beautiful characters in this one. The MCs were splendid. Jake is 35 years old baseball player that is not so eager about baseball anymore… until he’s traded and he starts spending time with Nico. God, those two together are hot and sweet! Jake is super overprotective and he cares so much about Nico’s well-being that melts my heart. Nico has lots of issues but he kinda overcomes them thanks to Jake.
This story involves so much more than just sex and romance. It’s about acceptance. Accepting who you are and accepting those that are around you. Even if you have some retrograde thoughts *cough* Nico’s Dad *cough*. It’s also about healing and reconciling with those you once hurt (because you were being a completely and jealous asshole.)
Jake and Nico’s journey is not easy. There’s angst, guilt and self-loathing. So be prepared.
Finally, I have to say that the writing was fantastic, everything felt so real that it made me enjoy this story so much. Andrews did an awesome job with Nico’s family. I liked their interactions. I adored Val, she was so supportive and sweet and I liked learning more about Nico’s dad.
This is the second book that I read from Andrews and I must say she doesn’t need to write about zombies to do a great job.

I'm so getting late to the party so I will keep it short because there are tons of amazing reviews out there. True Colors was utterly amazing, I devoured in one sitting. This kind of enemies-to-lovers story was angsty, insanely hot at times (something I'm not that used to with Anyta, but it was a really refreshing change) and sweet (obviously, as all Anyta's books).
I have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this book. This story is full of colorful prose, Marco's view of the world was unique and it added evocative feelings to the narrative.
A poignant story about friendship, first love, and forgiveness.
