The author had me as confused as the main character. Without giving away spoilers... is he James or is he Carlos? Very interesting subject. It's a book that you want to fly through but unfortunately my shoulder replacement surgery didn't allow for that. But I found this to be a well written enjoyable book.

It was sad to think that women were treated like this in that time period. Post partum depression was treated as if they were insane. I can't imagine having it and going through what she did.

We continue fifteen years later when they all are back in town and a girl disappears like others have throughout the years.
It was a well written book with lots of action and suspense. There were so many options as to who was kidnapping girls, I really was unsure. Makes a book more fun to read that way. Definitely an exciting mystery!

I like medical mysteries and would probably enjoy a full length book more. This was good but didn't really grab me into the story. I can see the characters making the series humorous, especially Uncle Leonard! So I would give the author another try....more

I personally love Sherlock Holmes and his adventures. So this book fulfilled all my expectations! The storyline was very intriguing and interesting. Character development was great. Lots of historical info included.
This is a must read for Sherlock Holmes fans. An excellent 5 star book!...more

Growing up in Maryland, this meant summer to As soon as I saw the setting of this book was the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, I knew I had to read it! Growing up in Maryland, this meant summer to me.
The author makes the Bay, the Chesapeake Inn and the camp for children come to life with her words. The conflict of Lucy having to now work for her teenage crush at the inn was difficult. I liked her character a lot and could feel the different emotions she was dealing with.
A good book to read on a hot summer day. And I'm sure you will might just feel a bit nostalgic like I did. I definitely recommend this heart warming book!

I thought this novel had all the things I like in a book such as Irish folklore, a mystery to solve, and ghosts of both people and pets. Yet, at timesI thought this novel had all the things I like in a book such as Irish folklore, a mystery to solve, and ghosts of both people and pets. Yet, at times, the story seemed to drag along for me.
I liked that Mahony who was left at an orphanage in Dublin as a baby decided to find what happened to his mother. He went to the small Irish village looking for information about her.
At times, I really enjoyed the story and sometimes, not so much. That really caused me to lose interest in the story and I felt like it took me forever to finish. I never really connected with any of the characters either which didn't help.
