This book was honestly amazing. I liked how fast-paced it is. It grabbed my attention from the first sentence and kept me invested until the end. The magic system was so unique and intriguing. As for the main character, Nim, she's strong, independent, and inspirational. Oh, let's not forget she's a total badass.
And let me tell you once I met Warrick, I immediately loved him and shipped him with Nim. The side characters were awesome too, especially Allister and adorable Wesley. Can't wait for book 2!! ...more

Well, Kennedy Fox definitely has the power to get me out of the worst slumps.
I. NEED. THE. NEXT. BOOK. NOW. WHAT. THE. HELL
THE ENDING. I can not even begin to comprehend….just WHY???
Actually, that’s the problem. I understand the ending PERFECTLY, and HOLY MOLY I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!!
Now that I’m calm, let’s talk about the book….
This Is Dangerous hooked me on the first page and I didn’t look back up until I finished the book. I love books like that. Where they totally consume you and make you forget your surroundings.
The characters in this book feel so real! Logan and Kyla are written too perfection. Kyla, though mature for her age has the same immature moments as the rest of us. Logan is just so sweet, speaking in a way that will have you swooning all over the place. As the characters develop in the story the story itself grows into something so hard to capture in words. I thought that the insta-lust that happen right away was going to ruin this book for me. But at the end, I realized that this story might have involved love but it’s not the love you expect. Even tho Logan was bothering me when he was introduced in book 3 & 4 in the series, I absolutely love him now!!
“I wish you could see what I see.” She places the palm of her hand against my chest, my heart beating rapidly. “You have a kind heart. you’re a protector. You’re always here when I need you. Whether or not you see it, you’re a good soul, Logan Knight.”
Overall, this book is nothing short of perfect (And I definitely prefer this book than book 3 & 4). It’s complex, has outstanding characters, and diverse. Kennedy Fox is such an incredible writer and even though I’ve only read two of her books, I’m so glad I have discovered her books.
Falling in love with Kayla Sinclair would be reckless. Allowing her to fall for me would be dangerous.

So it took me forever to finish this book because I was in a huge reading slump.
Before I continue with this review, you need to be aware that This Is Effortlessis book two and picks up where book one, This Is Reckless left off. That said, there was one heck of a cliffhanger so you need to read book one first.
I swear, every time I read this author, I AM WOW’ED. To the point that I have NO IDEA what to say in a review. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever managed to finish a review on one of Kennedy Fox’s books because all I have is “OMG! OMFG! OMG! OMG! OMGGGG! OMG!” at the end! She leaves me speechless.
“You want to have a family with me? He nods his head and returns his lips to mine. “The truth is I couldn’t imagine a family without you.”
In my opinion, this book was not as good as the first book. I was a bit annoyed with how cliche some parts were and the way Drew called her sweetheart in every sentence, BUT I was still surprised by how much I ended up liking the story in the end.
There were many twists and valuable lessons featured in this book, that really make the story stand out. And despite a tad bit of predictability, it was by far an enjoyable read. Did it completely blow my mind and render me speechless? *shrugs* …Not really. But it was definitely a page turner, and a story that I couldn’t bring myself to put down. I definitely want to say a big “thank you” to Kennedy Fox for writing a story that kept a big goofy smile on my face throughout every page....more

Oh my GOD I was so blown away by this book.
AND I LOVED IT!!! I’d classify this book as Best Friends-to-lovers, for those who like that theme. What I really, really liked about the story is the low level of angst. It really is a simple, slow-burn romance. Nothing is rushed, and though there is a lot of focus on the plot, the romance still felt very real to me.
What caught my heart were the characters and not just the main ones. I have to say all of them were lovable and well depicted, I want all of them in my life because they can make it better like they did with Courtney’s (well except for Mia, I hate her..).
“Thank you.” His words take me off guard. “For what?” His lips tilt up in a genuine smile. “For waiting for me.”
Things really heat up between this pair. Holy hell Drew Fisher is one heck of a sexy man. I loved the two of them together. They are just figuring out that their friendship is changing and how to go with these changes when something big happens. I’m not going to tell you this story was completely all smiles and love, there was a touch of heartbreak and angst, but these two have known each other their entire lives. If anyone can make it through, it’s them… right?
“Are you gawking?” He tilts his head to one side, eyeing me.
“I’m looking at you like I’ve always looked at you,” I reply with a smirk. “You’ve just never noticed it before.”
I felt happy while reading this one. I read it very quickly, all in one sitting, and I was so relieved to read a romance that felt real and special and didn’t rip me to shreds. Kennedy Fox has a winner on her hands.
I’ve read a lot of books that went through the whole friends to lover transition, BUT this was my all time favorite. I just loved how I kept smiling and laughing through the book. If you haven’t read it, you need to. You would expect it to be a predictable read, but it had its surprises, I promise. Read this book & thank me later....more

Have you ever loved a book so much you simply have no words to explain your feelings for it? This is slightly like my feelings for “Kiss Me Goodnight”. I have no criticism for this book what so ever. I found it to be perfect in every way, and I am very excited for future works from the marvelous Megan Gaudino.
This book is one of the best angel books I’ve read in years, and I’ve read A LOT of them. The only other angel book on the same level is Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick which was also amazing. With “Kiss Me Goodnight”, it’s like Megan had a checklist of what makes a great young adult book and seamlessly blended all of these components together into this sensational debut novel. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn’t stop reading–it was another “wee hours of the morning” finish because this book was THAT GOOD.
There are so many cliches in young adult paranormal fiction these days, and Megan has an antidote for all of them. Tired of weak, whimpering heroines? You will LOVE Sophie. Sophie is witty, funny and sprightly. She’s vivid and distinct, easily liked, and easy to understand. Even in a tense situation, she breaks the tension with a wisecrack. What makes this is even better is many of them come natural and without thought—it’s simply how she is.
Then there’s Leo. Intimidating and creepy at first, but as the chapters went by his caring and charming personality warmed my heart. The way he was acting around Sophie was so sweet, you can’t help but just fall in love with him. AND THE ENDING IS JUST SO SHOCKING!
Bottom line, I loved this one. The concept is brilliant, the writing flows in an even exciting pace and the characters are filled with good wit and are ready to charm. It has all the elements I look for in a good read and then some. I can’t wait to see what happens next in; Never Kiss and Tell!...more

After reading two books that I didn’t love in a row, I was really really hoping that this one would do the trick and get me out of my reading slump. After reading the description of the book, I figured I’d give it a try.
I enjoyed HOOKED, but I didn’t fall in love with it..It started really good then everything changed and it started to get predictable which I hate. The problem is with the main characters.
First Cat: Cat isn’t an easy woman to live with. She’s not an easy woman to handle. She is strong and surrounded by walls, unbreakable walls -she thought so- I loved Cat, I connected with her. She was a passionate woman, about almost everything she loved. Aaaaand then she started to get annoying. Kept arguing about everything and making a big deal out of nothing.
Huck was different. I couldn’t predict which route he would be picking. He surprised me and amazed me. Meeting Cat was his turning point, from day one and he somehow admitted and accepted it. I loved Huck, a lot. But I always wanted more from him. I didn’t like it when he gave the chance for Cat’s dominance. It didn’t sit right with me. And let’s not forget the love at first sight!!
Jay was awesome!! I loved him and how he became fast friends with Huck. I loved him and the relationship between him and Cat. He’s probably my favorite character!
I understood Cat in the beginning although I never approved of her actions and that impeded my enjoyment of the book but as it progressed, I just became fed up and annoyed. It is so predictable and uses a formula common in YA contemporaries. The writing is lovely at first but afterwards I found it rather excessive and just started skimming parts....more

I really struggled to rate A Beautiful Sin. On the one hand, it was an intriguing, thought-provoking read. On the other, there were a lot of rough moments and things I didn’t agree with.I enjoy reading Taboo books, but this one? Didn’t really enjoy it. I think because religion is a sensitive topic to talk about according to me.
“My soul had been permanently cracked and scarred by the things that had transpired in the bowels of the church. The day I left I vowed never to return.”
Why didn’t I like this book? Because of the The heroine I couldn’t relate to the heroine. I mean, I did like her and sympathize with her but I felt like the hero’s character was much better developed. To be honest, I didn’t enjoy reading her POV (Told in ‘Dual Perspectives’ Canaan & Havenalso), the plot was kinda boring.
“For every action we take, there are always consequences. And my biggest one was I allowed my heart to get wrapped up where it had no business being."
All in all, though I had my issues with A Beautiful Sin, it was still an interesting read. I think perhaps the author relied too heavily on the concept and lost the writing a little bit, and the pacing was too slow as well, but I am not sorry I read it. If taboo is your thing but religious themes tend to bother you, this may be too much....more

To be honest I did not finish this book. This book was just okay for me. It deals with a very real and very intense subject. There is a certain darkness and some healing that is inspiring. I loved the love interest, Blake in this book. He’s sweet, caring, and would do anything for Evangelina .
I don’t care for Evangelina’s character very much. I certainly understand that she’s had a lot of crap delivered to her, but she seriously does nothing but cry (which is understandable in real life, but not something I want to read about on every page). It never seems to me that she grows into a stronger character. She’s also very needy. I don’t think the plot really delivers a message either. A terrible thing happens and the only person suffering is the victim. My other issue with this book was the writing. I found it really childish, from the way they speak and everything was kinda a lot for me.
The subject matter in this book is sensitive. So if you have a heard time reading about sexual assault, consider yourself warned. The reader gets to follow, Evangelina and her struggle after, and how hard it is to get over something like that. All in all there was a lot of potential in this book. I’m hopeful that book 2 will resolve some of the writing issues. I look forward to checking it out.
