I fully acknowledge that I'm not the target audience here but this book didn't leave me with good feelings. Now I listened to the audiobook version and missed the comic parts but this kid is a self centered monster who barely gets anything remotely close to consequences at the end of the book. The narrator was decent and I'm sure that a near 40 year old man isn't the aidyots written for but hey it was free on audible and knocked out a 2 hour drive....more

So I listened to this because it was free on audible and relatively short. I'd listened to the first one and it had been so long that I forgot why I didn't like it. What comes off as an amusing urban scifi comedy is actually a thinly vailed attempt at middle aged white guy out of touch Republican libertarian humor. We get it younger people are different than you. Stick with the creativity that made this story original and stay away from all the political humor. He attempts to poke fun at the former president which leads me to believe he's a never trumper but his jokes fall back on a young people are the problem I don't believe in science I'm a tough guy libertarianism that's just annoying. Adam Baldwin is great as the narrator. Almost every character is different and he flows between them with ease I just hope he doesn't believe half of what the author does....more
