Sure, there's a reason/trauma for why she turned out to be so detached and cold but her actions were stupid and downright vindictive. However, the second half felt reasonable and content. And I finally made peace with Penelope (our heroine) for being compassionate towards the end.

This book was a pleasant surprise! Being her first book Ms. Young captives her readers into the world of warriors, where blood, loyalty, and survival are the ethical bases of their tribe. Sky in the Deep is a well-written and a well-balanced story with rich description, complex characters, strong emotional connections, violence, and deep-rooted morals.
This story takes us on the journey of young Aska girl , Eelyn who was groomed her entire life to be a ruthless warrior. Losing her brother Iri, in the battle against theRiki tribe five years ago, she is more than determined to kill any Riki she comes across in the battlefield. Now, In the middle of a bloody war, she sees the ghost of her brother and starts chasing him. This chase leads her to discover the truth of her brother, not only is he alive but she is baffled to find out Iri is now a Riki, her sworn enemy.
Being captured, broken, betrayed and away from home, Eelyn’s life will be thrown out of its axis once she becomes a slave to Iri’s adopted Riki family. She is stuck between love for her brother and his betrayal to her clan. What follows once Eelyn becomes a prisoner living with the enemy is the heart and soul of this story. This is where the author shines as a storyteller.
“I could still see a young Eelyn standing on the beach turned into the wind, a sword in one hand and an axe in the other. I hadn’t lost her. I hadn’t buried her. I’d only let her change into something new.”
Ms. Young seamlessly captures the struggle of Eelyn throughout the story. I wish the ending wasn’t as rushed. I wanted a different perspective of the story as we a have primary characters from rival clans keeping their hatred aside and uniting for a good cause.
Overall, it was quick and a compelling story.

After being totally blown away by Transcend I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the sequel. I was finally going to get answers to the lingering questions we had from the previous book and of course to find out if Swayze will end up with her perfect too-good-to-be-true boyfriend or the man who still holds her heart and soul in this life? But Epoch turned out to be a major let down for me. This is me being tough on the book or that I went in with a great expectation, either way, the story felt downright flat and pointless.
For the better part of the book, there was a lot of confusion, arguments, avoiding and all the drama you can find in a possible love triangle. I felt the story didn’t go any further from that, all the build-up from the previous book was for nothing. I expected for something concrete to happen, but all the while the plot kept dragging and scenes got repeated.
Pretty much everyone acted silly and immature expect Nate. The action and the consequences made no sense to me. Like for instance A)(view spoiler)[I never got to know why Daisy went to the Lake in the first place? (hide spoiler)] Also, B)(view spoiler)[Swayze for the better part of the story was adamant in finding more about Daisy’s death via hypnosis and she lost Griffin over it, in fact, nobody was happy about it. Turns out all this was for nothing as Doug was murdered (so unrealistic) and Nate asked the psychiatrist to lie about her hypnosis? (hide spoiler)] So, if my calculation is right the 85% of the story was nothing but a filler then? And C)(view spoiler)[ I still couldn’t get over the fact Griffin left her. He wanted to move to a different city to keep her safe but when she refuses to go with him, he left anyway, why? His family was here, he wanted to leave for her safety and he just uprooted himself for what purpose?! Just to get away from her? (hide spoiler)] This book has multiple POV, in some chapters we didn’t know whose thoughts I’m listening to until I was on page two or three. I would say this book is still work in progress and feels incomplete.
That being said, I still rated it 3 stars (which is still good enough for me) just for the beautiful poetic ending. The story for all its turmoil, the author justified the ending accurately. I am more than happy with whom she ends up with. It stands by the true meaning of love, that love has no boundaries nor requires any explanation and part of our soul is always bound to be loved by someone else.

My heart is all warm and gooey after reading this lovely book!
[image] To be honest I have never read from Darcy Burke before nor was she familiar to me. It so happened that I was in a mood for a historical romance when I stumbled across this gem on Netgalley. The blurb literally piqued my curiosity, I immediately knew I had to read this book. To my utter surprise I ended up loving everything about this book, the story, those characters, and the heart-warming romance was exactly what I needed right now.
The Duke of Ruin is a story of a widower who is accused of murdering his wife and a spinster who is seeking a husband desperately so as to get away from the clutches of her abusive father.
Simon Hastings, is a social outcast who constantly lives in guilt. It’s been two years since he lost his wife and unborn child, not a day goes by when he doesn’t blame himself for their death. He has no intention of taking another wife, but a playful kiss with a stranger awakens the deeply buried desire to be touched and loved by someone again.
Diana Kingman was groomed to be a perfect duchess, growing up in a strict household made her detached and guarded. She was betrothed to Duke of Kilve and was certain this marriage would make her father proud of her and bring him a lot of respect in society. However, Duke of Kilve is in love with another woman and pursue her to marry, leaving Simon in charge to break his engagement with Diana. This news should have broken Diana’s heart but deep down she always wanted to marry for love, she is nothing but happy for the couple. On the other hand, she is certain her father will be furious and would blame her for calling off the wedding.
Simon didn’t want to leave Dianna alone to deal with the mess and the upcoming scandal. Compassionate as he is, he offers to help her escape and get her settled in some place far away from her father’s wrath. Thus, starts a road trip of love, life, and emotional discovery. I love the way their relationship bloomed over time, developing an emotional connection, mutual adoration, trusting and falling in love all the way.
This was such a delightful read with a well-written storyline you’ll just breeze through. It’s kind of a story that will bring a smile on your face with its heart-melting romance, a definite re-read material!
FYI, I read it as a standalone even if it’s a part of the series, it still didn’t spoil the experience for me.

Talk about surviving a book which stole my heart, broke it into pieces, robbed me of breath, made me a crying mess and yet I can’t stop thinking of it!
“I'm a living proof that a heart can be broken a thousand times and still function, still keep you alive— desperately hoping that it won’t happen again, all the while knowing it will.”
This was such an unconventional poignant story, I’m quite not sure which category this belongs to? Was it dark? Was it a love story? A taboo? Coming of age? Or was it a survival story? Now since I’d plenty of time to process the story I can fairly say that this book is all about LIFE! The Boy and His Ribbon has to be Ms. Winters best-written story by far. If her previous stories had a riveting storyline this was all about human emotions and unbreakable connection born out of perseverance and necessity.
This is a story about of a boy named Ren and his Ribbon named Della. That’s all I’m going to say about the story because blurb doesn’t exactly reveal anything about the story and it rightly shouldn’t. This is mainly a character driven story in a literal sense, we are introduced to Ren and Della at a very tender age and this story is about their journey in a most unpleasant yet stimulating way. We get to see these two grow, nurture, survive against all odds, forming an indestructible bond that just resonant in your heart. Their passion, devotion, and commitment manifest into a beautiful and intoxicating relationship that will have to stand the test of time. And trust me when I say this, ‘The Boy and His Ribbon’ requires an empty and an open mind before you get involved.
Pepper Winters has a magical ability to bring her characters to life. I don’t know how she does it but right from the first page till the end, I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and calming my racing heart. She is not just a powerful story-teller, she casts an unbreakable spell on her readers, captivating us, destroying us and the same time showing the bitter reality of life in a most alluring way. Her writing is flawless and lyrical, her characters are raw, very much real and complicated beyond measure. They invaded my thoughts, resided in my heart and now it became a part of me. How I wish to hold them, hug them tight and assure them they will be okay, they are Ren and Ribbon, they have to find their way back
“She was every hope and dream I’d ever had and the fabrication of every future I’d hoped for, and If I had to say goodbye to that… Fuck”
There were certain scenarios that frustrated me while some absolutely gutted me, I for once am desperate to see how certain ungrateful ‘person’ is going to redeem themselves in their concluding book The Girl and Her Ren

Mon Dieu……this book left me breathless!
I had my doubts before but I am confident that Ms. Reisz is definitely from a different planet. I don’t think it’s humanly possible to create a dimension full of complicated yet perfect characters that you keep falling in love over and over again, falling so HARD it practically hurts to live without them. The Original Sinners has ALWAYS been special to me, they’ve attained such heights that no human can outwrite them except if you are Tiffany Reisz.
The Chateau was nothing short of spectacular, it was erotic, poetic, riveting, serene, yet exquisitely sadistic. This book gave me much-needed insight into unexplored years of Kingsley’s life when he was young and still in love with the blonde monster he can’t seem to forget.
If you are a fan of this series, the blurb is enough to seal the deal. So, I’ll be vague about the story. It’s been seven years since Kingsley last saw Søren, yet his every touch, his feel still haunts him. As a Lieutenant working for French secret military agency King’s current assignment is to retrieve the commanding officer’s nephew from a sex cult practicing sado-masochism from an unknown location in Paris. What follows once King is inside the château run by the dominatrix Madame is truly spellbinding. Madame, an enigmatic and a powerful character in this book, she takes sadism to a whole different level. Kingsley, as we know him today, is because of her. The very foundation of him and his kingdom was built in The Chateau.
The Chateau details the suffering and conflict Kingsley faces during his separation from Søren. Though this book is all about King, Søren’s presence was overwhelming in every chapter, in King’s every thought. This book was a truly a tribute to Kingsley’s unconditional love to Søren. And that’s why I loved it so much. Kingsley is not who is without Søren, the blonde monster who created him. This goes to show how much Tiffany is true to her characters. She captured the essence and beauty of submission with great clarity that one has to shed all the doubts about this being a dark lifestyle. If I adored her before now I worship the ground she walks on.
Don't disappoint our mistress people, READ THIS BOOK!

My eyes are welling up, my heart feels heavy, I’m rendered speechless yet my mind can’t handle what it just read. This book was powerful, tragic and emotional beyond words. I can’t remember the last I felt so empty and at loss after finishing a book.
I’ve read most of Alessandra Torre's books, some I loved, some didn’t appeal to me but The Ghostwriter is nothing like her previous work. This book was compelling and utterly depressing. It’s a mark of sheer talent that she created such a complex and a flawed character with a commanding voice throughout the book. Helena felt real, her guilt was gut-wrenching and her words were poignant. I’m still a bundle of mess and at awe that this simple book which had less story but more character-driven, shook me to the core!
I can’t talk about the story without spoiling its essence. All you need to know is, this book is one of a kind. You need to experience it and let the suspense consume you. This might feel slow at the beginning but the journey it takes you is the one you need to devour completely.
The Ghostwriter is the best book written by AT so far, Period! Highly recommend it.

Tiffany Reisz did it again!! I love that she keeps surprising her readers with a new element of twist every time. This was such a delightful read and a beautiful story from TR. I adore her writing, her stories leave a lasting impression on me and The Night Mark didn't disappoint me at all.
If you think of romance with a riveting storyline, passionate love story, endearing characters, and weaving together the different timeline then it’s got to be Ms. T. Reisz. Like seriously, is there anything that she CAN’T write??
• Grieving widow • Retired Priest • Deaf house maid • Former sailor/Lighthouse keeper • An abandoned lighthouse • Ocean waves • Camera • An unorthodox love story that transcends time?
Now tell me if you can think of any possible storyline connecting these random elements? that’s when the author blows your mind with the big twist- TIME TRAVEL!!!
I LOVE any story involving time travels, it’s simply overwhelming since you get best of both the worlds. Not going to talk about the story though, I’m just here to rave about this wonderful book.
Ms. Reisz is a phenomenal storyteller and a talented writer, she is not just your conventional romance writer, her books carries a wealth of knowledge in every aspect she touches upon. Be it her explicit description of the setting, or unveiling the emotions, she grabs your attention right from the beginning and the best part of her stories- the ensemble cast and a strong/badass female lead. All you got to know is that nobody writes a dreamy, swoon-worthy priest like Ms. Reisz. *Sigh* with a mind like hers, I don’t think she would ever get bored, all she has to do is put Søren and Pat in a room together! It’s a wishful thinking but two priests together would rather make a sinful read *wink**wink*

Only Tillie Cole can make you fall in love with her damaged characters over and over again, still leaving you begging for more!
'Save the best for the last', that saying feels right with Ms. Cole’s latest and final addition to the Scarred Souls series. Riot was by far the best story in this series. It was darker, grittier, and pumped with a heavy load of angst.
Scarred Souls series revolves around the mafias, violence, power and absolute domination. Child abduction, imprisonment, human trafficking, experimental drugs, trained killers, and forced prostitution remains the main theme. When you think, you’ve seen it all Ms. Cole hits you with Riot; the story of not one but two prisoners, abducted when they were kids, now they are just entities for Master Arziani’s sadistic and twisted entertainment.
901 is the most feared and powerful fighter in the blood pit, all his life he was under the influence of a drug, trained to be a perfect killer. In his empire, where everyone lived in fear, 901 became an undefeated champion, master’s priced possession. When everyone else was stripped of their identity, free will and happiness, 901 held onto his pride; pride as a warrior, pride of refusing to bend to master’s will knowing very well his dismissal would be master’s greatest loss.
Master Arziani is a sadist through and through, he doesn’t just inflict pain on his slaves, he controls them with his mind games. 901 is what makes his Blood Pit flowing with money but his lack of submission questions Master's authority. He gives away his slave 152, high mona meant for sexual pleasure as a gift to 901. If 901 can’t be controlled by any other means, having a leverage would be a game changer.
152 wakes up in a hazy state, she has no memory of who she is or where she is but a distant face of a young boy, a voice in her head keeps telling her to hold on a little while longer, that he will get her out of this hell. Once a slave to the mistress her beauty beholds the eye of Master Arziani. She is soon called to Georgia to be his high mona, meant for his twisted pleasure. Day in and day out she is used and abused, same routine every day and the hope of being rescued slowly fades away until one night she is locked up in a cell with 901
Riot wasn’t an easy read, it was dark to the point where certain situation leaves your stomach in knots. It was edgy, suspenseful and the anticipation of what’s going to happen is heart-numbingly palpable. All I can say is, this is a perfect ending to the series, beyond the darkness and disturbing events Ms. Cole still managed to add the essence of love, healing, and happiness.
“You are in my heart. You are in my scarred soul.”
I loved the ending, there is a sense of peace to see all the main characters under one roof, living as a family. The author always seems to have a cure for all the heartache she made us endure and I love her for that!
A phenomenal writer and a master storyteller indeed!

You know you’ve read a good book when it makes you live every moment of the story, when it makes you overwhelmed with the array of emotions and when it has lasting impression on you. The Butterfly Project is one such rare book which stole my heart and made me an emotional mess throughout; I just wanted to climb inside this book and live in apartment 2E with Zelda and Beckett (Creepy much!).
This is a story of Zelda and Beckett, two lost souls struggling to make amends when the guilt of their past makes it almost impossible to breathe.
Zelda Rossi carries the burden of losing her baby sister right in front of her when they were kids. Her life was never the same after that incident, memories of her sister and guilt of it drives her out of her hometown. She never had a normal life since then, all she wants to do is bring some sort of justice for what happened and the only way she can think of avenging her sister is to write a graphic novel. Her way of projecting her emotions, to right the wrong, to bring peace to her grieving family.
After series of rejection from the publishers, with no job or money, and being in a strange city, she sees her dream crumbling down. When she decides to give up, she crosses path with Beckett, a kind stranger who offered her cigarette and little of his time.
Beckett Copeland served two years in prison for armed robbery. While life as such was difficult growing up, being a felon in the big apple was a punishment in itself. But what haunts him most is the mistake which cost him his two years and life of a man whom he robbed. Even though he’s out early for good behavior, he doesn’t forgive himself for this action nor does he thinks he deserves to be happy after knowing he destroyed a family. He has no intention of getting attached to someone or be a help to anyone, but when Zelda asked him to share his apartment, his simple YES changed the course of their life.
This book was more than just a romance it was thoughtful in so many ways. The author did a splendid job with this story. To execute the ripple effect in such subtle and endearing manner was just heart-warming. The story wasn’t rushed at any point nor had a loophole. Instead, it was written in a way where one could savor and absorb every moment, where one’s action had a series of reaction leading to a fairy tale ending.
We have always been taught to be kind and help a stranger in need. Not knowing sometimes, a simple smile, a hug or even listening to them talk can make so much difference. And this story portrayed that message well.
“There is a power in forgiveness… and magic in even the smallest of kindness”
I could kiss Emma Scott for writing this beautiful story of kindness, forgiveness, healing and second chances.
Emma, if you are reading this I want you to know that Zelda and Beckett’s story will always be close to my heart. It gave me hope and strength to go on, that every one of us deserves to be happy. THANK YOU for The Butterfly Project, it made a difference to me.

What makes you feel alive?
Ruckus is second addition to the Sinners of Saint series and this time we venture into Dean and Rosie’s life. If you think you know everything about these two characters, you are in for a BIG surprise. Dean is not just a frenemy to Vicious, nor Rosie a sick little sister to Millie, these characters are brought to life on such complex level that you can’t help but root for them, love them or even hate them but for sure they will grow on you.
I was little unsure about reading their story. I mean, Dean dated Rosie’s older sister and Rosie on other hand was battling a life-threatening disease and one would wonder how can you make their story work. After having read this, I just want to go back in time and berate me for ever doubting L.J.’s crazy writing skills. This woman can make ANYTHING WORK!
“I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.”
They say when two people are meant to be together, no forces on the earth can stop them from ending up together. That’s what life had planned for these two soulmates. Rosie and Dean were always destined to be together, but life played a cruel joke on her. Of all the guys she could easily have, she had to fall for that one HotHole, who was forbidden in every way possible. Rosie owed everything to her sister, she didn’t want to do anything to hurt her even if it meant burying her feelings deep within.
Now eleven years later when they crossed paths, Dean is desperate to rewrite their story and this time he is going to choose the right sister, but will Rosie ever trust her heart with a manwhore like Dean again?
What I loved the most in this book was the depth of the characters. Dean being a HotHole was always portrayed as a fun-loving, partying playboy but as the story advances, we get to see the real Dean. The Dean who is dealing with a lot of issues, who buries his despair in alcohol and weed, the Dean who is still a little boy waiting to be loved. Their constant struggle with reality and yet them finding their way back to each other was such a delightful experience. This author knows how to create A-hole heroes who make you go weak at the knees *wink.

Are you contemplating on which new release to read? Are you looking for a book that takes you on an emotional ride? Do you love a book which gets you high on some drama, loads of angst and a love triangle?
If your answer is YES then you got to drop everything and READ THIS BOOK LIKE NOW!!!!!!!!
Can you believe I read this book in one sitting when I take nearly a week to finish one?
That’s how addicting this story is! The Evolution of Ivy is simply palpable, heart-wrenching, and beyond your usual romance with a strong protagonist who will steal your heart.
At the onset, this story is about a desperate woman on a mission to get the love of her life back with any means necessary…
[image]
As the story unravels, you get to see the pain and honesty behind her intention; it’s not what we usually see in a love triangle or a woman being obsessed with a guy but the brutal reality of Ivy’s past and chain of events which leads to this decision.
I know I’m being vague, this is one of those stories you need to just get on with and enjoy the crazy experience. What I will talk is this author’s great writing skills.
Lauren Campbell is a master storyteller, she has the ability to grab your attention from the very first chapter, put you through a whirlwind of emotions and make you part of it without your knowledge. Don’t get me started on the characters, she has written such complex characters that you might hate or love but even so, they will definitely stay with you after you’ve finished reading it. The best part of this story is it has multiple POV’s with a smooth transition from one’s perspective without causing any confusion and that dear friends happen rarely.
Ivy’s character is something which grows on you for sure. Her entire journey, a transformation from a helpless little girl to a callous, ambitious young woman is brilliantly executed. It’s more than a mere novel, the whole experience has been thought provoking; I kept asking myself - are you strong enough to do what Ivy did? Is love worth all the trouble?
Sometimes losing your innocence and being selfish isn’t a bad thing, well that’s what this book does to you, question your own principles and sanity.
With a fresh new voice and a refreshing storyline, this debut author is one to look out for!! Can’t wait to read more from Lauren.

Who else signed up for this book only looking at the title?!
I love everything about enemies to lover’s trope and the title sold it good. Nicole Williams indeed delivered a sweet and sassy entertaining romance, with its witty dialogues, laugh out loud moments, steamy scenes and a sex on a stick-brooding alpha male, Hate Story is a perfect book to kick back and relax this holiday season.
Nina and Max enter into a marriage of convenience. Max wants a green card to be a legal citizen of America and Nina is desperate to save her grandmother’s house. They entered into an agreement where both gets what they want; desire, attraction and love were not going to be part of it. That seems to be easy since Max’s arrogance and overachieving nature just push all her buttons and Nina isn’t exactly the type of a woman Max is used to; she stands her ground and not easily charmed. Theirs was a hate at first sight. Hate was all that they needed to survive this marriage for next three years until love waltz into their life unexpected!
“Nina was my sanctuary as much as she was my war zone. Peace and solace one moment, explosions and massacre the next.”
This was a delightful read, a light-hearted romance filled with hate, passion, laughter and love! The characters were superb. They were headstrong, charming and witty to the point of pissing each other off, this crazy love/hate equation was cleverly written by the author, I loved their banters so much. There was a slight hiccup that stopped it from making this a great read, the whole transformation from hating to loving was hasty. Though I loved their chemistry I didn’t see the development of their attraction/love. Also, the ending seemed rushed, I felt the family was just a filler contrary to how they were initially introduced even when there was a lot of room to add some angst to the mix.
Overall, a well-written feel happy kind of love/hate story!

This was quite an unusual story coming from CoHo. Honestly, I'm not sure how to rate it. For the first half of the story, I was really surprised at the premise of the story, not your typical angsty and heart-warming NA CoHo story but an edgier, twisted and a thrilling one. With Too late she was unapologetic at making her readers feel fearful and uneasy for the most parts and just for that, for coming out of her comfort zone, she gets a huge round of an applause from me.
The Ending ruined this book for me for sure. It was rather predictable, rushed and very dramatic. This was the first time I was rooting for the bad guy aka Asa Jackson. Let me justify this twisted sense of moral before you judge me. Asa didn't have any redeeming quality, he terrified the shit out of me too, however, I couldn't help but sympathize with him. He was dealt with a shitty life and it's not his fault the way he turned out to be. His delusion and crazy obsession over Sloan made a complete sense to me. Maybe that's why I didn't like how the story ended. Yes, Asa did a lot of bad things but he never got a chance at a normal life.
So yes, I'm in a pickle about the rating, it wasn't perfect or original neither, was it bad. Now since my thoughts are flowing in form of words, my feelings are rather clear. This book had an impact on me and I will be thinking about Asa for a while now (I don't care for the happy couple) and my heart still goes out to him. Not the best work from CoHo but this book proved she is one versatile badass writer.
