As much as is saddens me deeply to put a low review on something I have to be very honest.
I'm so confused by this book.. I understand that it's a second chance romance .. but there is very little about both of them together in the past so your basically thrown into reading about a couple you know nothing about.
Both Chris and jess are both likeable characters. They had decent chemistry and the sex scenes are pretty hot but due to there being giant blank spots in their past and the lack of background history and just a good storyline .. I felt absolutely no connection to any of the characters what's so ever.
It made it hard for me to read or even want to carry on because to me their insta love is so unrealistic when you know nothing about them other than she moved to California for school and he works with trees and basically just lived in limbo for a year. You get little crumbs of information through the story but for me it just wasn't enough to begin to believe it.
I'm super sad for this because I wanted to love it. I hate not enjoying a read. However this won't stop me from reading anything by this author again. I just hope next time there's more in it.
