WhSquire & Knight was fan favorite for a growing contingent of students last year, and one student would asked me each visit if book two was out yet. When I saw it was set to publish in October, I knew I wanted to read it. With a good mix of humor, adventure and some well placed thematic elements, I am sure book two will be a hit with students too.

Ten year old: I liked Dog Trouble because the character had a variety of challenges to face and learned a lot while volunteering at the Dog Shelter. I also liked that he made friends and strengthened relationships in the story through skateboarding. It was fun to revisit this classic film by Hayao Miyazaki in a complete comic book form. I have seen this graphic novel in a serial format in the past, but I like this one a lot more in terms of helping the reader flow through this wonderful narrative. The way Miyazaki captures childhood wonder, imagination, the uncertainty that comes with a sick family member, community and the natural landscapes of Japan are just a few reasons I believe this story continues to inspire people around the globe.
