Would have probably been better to read this while I was still actively working but I probably wouldn't feel comfortable applying the lessons. I agree with them, just probably wouldn't do them. This one was the first I read that explored the inner dialogue. Really interesting story and some good exercises to help when the inner dialogue is being a detriment. Ironically the only challenge I had was when my inner dialogue would interrupt my concentration when listening to the audiobook. Understanding parts of what really happening. Although getting reminded about how much of politics is negotiations and trade offs and personal benefits (re-election) is pretty depressing. I know that is how it works but it's tough to listen to that reality. It does have more of a feel of a lecture than a personal story. In that way, I think I preferred Michelle's book. Glad the audiobook was read by the President. Felt way more real that way....more

I will remember the memory palace technique. I can still remember pickled garlic, cottage cheese, salmon, 6 bottles of wine, and 3 socks listening to the description of memory palace and applying it to myself.
