Callum is a such a great kid and you won't believe what's his story. Especially after you've read the last 40 or so pages. Tamara reminded me of Hermione because she's witty and quick-to-temper but that's the only similary between Harry Potter and Magisterium. Aaron is so adorable and cute and I bet most of you will want to pet him. Jasper adds a certain hostility to the book and although most of you will find him annoying I just think he is a great kid who's acting out because he's been under a lot of pressure.
The flow of the book is amazing and it's really fast-paced. The book is actually on a timeline of 7-8 months and it's well-structured.
It's a great world and a great story and with this book, both Holly and Cassie managed to win me over as a fan of the series and it's certain that I'm going to read the next book in the series. I actually cannot wait. Let me just say that the cliffhanger in the end of the book is HUGE HUGE HUGE and it made me wonder what there is to be done from here on out....more

It's not about happy endings. It's just that we are so full of "happy endings" these days that I've come to loathe the very uttering of these two words when they are side by side.
It's a beautiful book and it has something to teach us all. It's not just Connor who has to face the truth. It's all of us who keep denying certain facts in order to fake live in a fairytale but the happy bubble is going to burst and all we are going to have left is our broken truths and our broken selves.
So, like Connor, we need a monster, someone to make us face the truth, our truth, before the hurt and struggle are irreversible. It's a very deep book, with lots of truth about it. It's a must for everyone....more

For me it was more of a fairy tale because it's adventurous and it travelled me to a very bizzare world which most children would find fascinating but adults would freak the hell out. Coraline is a small girl, petite if you'd like, who finds herself tangled up in a very dark and mysterious story. She comes face to face with her other mother, a being who's bleak and devours children for breakfast. She says she loves Coraline, but this kind of love is how cats love to eat mice. There were other children before her, and now they're all trapped inside a mirror forever. Coraline strikes a deal with her other mother and it's her only way out.
What I loved about this fairy tale it's the fact that the heroine isn't just a child. She's a wise child, she is not ignorant. She's quick-to-like and she's an adventurous kid with lots of love for exploring. If it was anyone else, other than her, I don't really believe she would have managed to come out of this unscathed.
By the by, I'll post a quote below which grew quickly to become one of my favorite lines ever:
"But how can you walk away from something and still come back to it?" "Easy," said the cat. "Think of somebody walking around the world. You start out walking away from something and end up coming back to it." "Small world," said Coraline."...more

I'm still struggling to find out who the reading order of Narnia is. I've seen that this is either the 2nd or the 5th book but then again I've seen it being named the 3rd book. I'm just going to read it however I want and hope it'll all be fine. At least, I don't there was any missing detail from the book, so that must be a good thing.
As to why I gave this 3 stars is because I found it less adventurous than the first one, I felt this one was a bit rushed and yes that's the way children's books usually are but it was a bit too much for me. I loved the characters, although some of the characters of the first book were missing, but we had a new one on the children side, and several new ones on the world of Narnia.
A journey in the sea on a ship named Dawn Treader. C. S. Lewis is a masterful author, very laconic but at the same time his words are utterly descriptive. I certainly hope not. It's Christmas and I feel like a little kid and I was craving something to make me feel like I am one, indeed, and this book travelled me to a wondrous world full of heroes and of course a villain. The ride was awesome and I found the characters warm and fuzzy despite the eternal cold that had been placed upon Narnia. Now, they're all free of the curse of the White Witch thanks to Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. The kings and queens of Narnia.
“Once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen of Narnia.”
This is remarkable. It's amazing how short it is, I only read it in one and a half hour, I simply devoured it. It's short but so detailed and concentrated. It's like a fairytale. I'll certainly be reading this to my kids in the future.

“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who live without love.”
The last stand.
Holy shit, this was definitely one of the best books I've ever read. It was interesting to the core and never bored me for even a second. This was through and through a pain in the ass. It pained me to read the last chapter, the last book. I didn't want this to end. Still don't want to.
(view spoiler)[Fred, Dora, Lupin... Snape... (hide spoiler)]Why is Mrs. Rowling so keen on killing? Holy shit, she's turned this into heart-break. My heart shatters every time someone dies, I'm emotional and a cry-baby just like that.
There were moments in the book when it reminded me how fun it all used to be. No matter how morbid it all becomes, Mrs. Rowling always manages to keep some things intact, like the humor. The humor is definitely reduced but not non-existent.
I laughed so hard when Molly Weasley screamed "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!" at Bellatrix (view spoiler)[and then killed her. (hide spoiler)] How can you not love Mum Weasley? She is mama bear. She'd protect her cubs at all costs.
The Epilogue is such an emotional thing. It wrecks your soul and then it puts it all back together... James. Albus Severus. Lily. Hugo. Rose.
I was crying because it just occurred to me that Harry, Ron and Hermione were like 11 in the first book and ended up having kids and being in their late 30's which at this point I had lost my shit and crying and did not know what to do with myself.
“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”
I just want to say that Harry Potter taught me to be brave and love rather than hate and not being afraid of even dying for those I love. Harry chose to be the better man and he defeated Voldemort not with power but with bravery and courage that only love can armor you with. He fought with friends by his side. Loved ones....more

“Wit beyond measure is a man's greatest treasure.”
Each time & every time I start an HP book I'm blown away by how much every book is different than the last one..
From the very beginning of the book, just like Harry, I was mad at Dumbledore cause he really seemed to ignoring Harry, which as a fact he was, but then at last when Dumbledore told Harry the reasons why he had been acting so distant I couldn't help feeling sorry for Dumbledore and the fact that instead of stopping Harry from shouting at him or shattering his office he egged him to do so, I felt my stomach churn, I simply loved Dumbledore from that moment on that much more..
This was huge, when I say huge, I mean huge. Every book gets bigger and bigger, this is unbelievably dark and so different than any other book. Reading the first book I never would have guessed how it all takes such a dark turn or that it'd come to this. This book is the epitome of plot twists.
The tyranny of Dolores Umbridge. The hunt. The ministry. The fight. The tension between everything and everyone. The suspense was real, I felt it in my bones every time something would happen or someone would get hurt. Near-death experiences. Harry and Voldemort.
The fight in the ministry between Voldemort and Dumbledore is one of the most amazing scenes I've ever read. It was breath-taking in all of its aspects. Whichever way you want to see this, it was incredible.
I loved and hated the fact that our heroes are being through so much pain. Not just Harry, or Ron & Hermione. I'm talking about every one. Event those in the Order of the Phoenix and those in Dumbledore's Army (coolest names ever, right?).
Mrs. Rowling makes a leap every time, she takes every book to an entire different level.

“It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.”
How did we come from the first book to this? How has this become one of the most emotional series ever? How has this become about pain, hurt and death?
This book was huge, just huge. I enjoyed every single page. Well, enjoyed isn't the right word because this entire book is pain in all of its glory.
Our heroes are grown, fully-grown. They have come face to face with their mortal enemy and have to stand up against him.
This book has everything, from twists and turns to death and pain and tragedy.
One word: White Tomb. If you've read the book then you know what I'm talking about. You know how it all affected Harry, not just his heart but his soul as well.
They have all realized how series this is and that it's not a game where if you die you can come back to life. If you die you stay dead and that's about it.
Coming-of-age isn't enough to sum this series. You begin with The Philosopher's Stone not knowing what you just got yourself into. It's all fun and the world sounds so fun, dangerous too, but fun is the one word defining it.
How should we know that the world of Wizardry would fall apart like this? How could we have guessed that pain would be the defining world for this now? Loss pain.
It's all about not being alone. Not working alone against the evil but constantly having someone to have your back and be there when you need them.

“If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”
This book and all its glory.. I loved this. It was simply extraordinary and unlike any other Harry Potter novel. This was considerably more mature than any of its predecessors. I loved the size of it. It was a book I couldn't get enough of even though it's actual the biggest so far and the most detailed one. Mrs. Rowling never ceases to amaze me.
I loved how in each and every book we see how Harry's changing to become the amazing grown-up man he is meant to be. Ron & Hermione & Harry. Our unbeatable trio. They are growing up so fast and it is amazing to read about them and how they overcome everything together. This one was mostly Harry working by himself because it wasn't allowed for him to have any help while participating in the Triwizard Tournament.
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
This marks the beginning of darker times ahead.. This was suprisingly darker and more morbid than any other book. Like Mrs. Rowling had said when this book came out: "Book Four's a very very VERY important book. Something very important happens in Book Four. But also, it's literally a central book. It's almost the heart of the series, and it's pivotal."
In this book we see Voldemort for the first time. The first time in his physical form. It's all amazing to read. How he is involved with the Triwizard Tournament and how it all becomes a big mess.
There is death and there is suspense, tons of it. There is a kinds-of prom. There is falling in love, and jealousy, for the first time in the Harry Potter series. And it's so breath-taking reading about our favorite characters falling in love, getting their feelings hurts, and tasting rejection for the first time ever.
If you've loved the previous books then you're bound to love this one just as much and maybe a little more. ...more

Wasn't this epic. Didn't this stun you into silence after reading it.
These are rhetorical. So, don't bother answering because I already know what you'll say. You'll agree with me that this is by far the best Harry Potter novel, and I'll add that I just couldn't put it down, nor did I want to.
This was great, this was stunning, this was grand. I loved it so much. This was a tad bit scary too, considering the previous two novels. I think Harry is growing up, so do Ron & Hermione. Our little heroes are no longer babies, they are growing up fast and I am gladly keeping up with them.
Is there any other way to say that I loved what J. K. Rowling did with Wormtail, I loved how it was all a big twist. I loved how things were so unpredictable and you didn't know what to get ready for next.
This was thrilling and exhilarating. I was just reading and reading and reading like a junkie addicted to their drug, that was my brand of heroine for sure..
I loved Sirius and I loved Remus. I loved everything about this. I love the relationship between Harry, Ron & Hermione. They all fit together, they need no one else. It's just them three and it's enough because they know that they'll always have together, and no matter what they'll stick together because that's what friends are for. And being different people, having diffent personalities doesn't bring us apart, it brings people together. It makes the friendship more interesting, more unpredictable.

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
While I think the movies are just awesome, I think they fail to capture the magic this book has. This book just enveloped me in my magic. Magic, magic everywhere. Surrounding me. Making me feel like I was a person living inside this magnificent world, but terrifying and dangerous nonetheless.
This is the second book in the series and I couldn't have been more satisfied with it, I don't know if there's anything bad for me to say about it. I don't know why I'd bother myself trying to figure out what are the flaws of the book and I enjoyed myself so much reading it.
I'm not one of those people who try to find every needle in a haystack. I can be satisfied with imperfection, and that's not at all imperfect. It met all of my standards I had set after reading the first book.
It was adventurous and the world grows more and more complex, just like I wanted it to be. Learning more about magic, was just as wondrous and exciting as it was for Harry, Hermione and Ron and all those other kids at Hogwarts. I almost feel like I'm a student there, which I wish I were. Take out the Basilisk & Voldemort though because I'd shit my pants. Not that the kids weren't afraid. Of course, they were and that makes it that much more real. The kids have a magnet for trouble.
It's so deep, it is a book any kid should be reading instead of reading and obsessing about instead of playing pc games all day and night long. I'll be careful enough to teach my kids how to read and appreciate what books give to us.
I love that in the end Harry stands alone and face the enemies without the immediate help of Ron & Hermione. They help him along the way, and that's just as important.
It was such a great read and writing this after almost 1 year I feel so drawn to just pick up the book and reread it....more

“With great power... comes great need to take a nap. Wake me up later.”
The world is ending and Grover is sleeping, oh my god. This was my favorite book in the series. My favorite satyr just slayed it all, okay.
Coming to its end, this book was epic. Truly, I loved it. I love how it all played out in the end. I remember strolling around my house with the book in my hand reading it because I was, oh, so anxious about how it would end and also sad because this was coming to its end.
In this book, the impossible happens. They all work together to bring down the Titans which is so awesome to read. Because Percy didn't save the world alone, he had help, he had friends who were just as important and vital to winning the war that threatened to kill everyone.
Percy declines a certain thing that is offered to him in the end which just blew me away because: A) I didn't see something like this coming, B) I was sure he would decline so I don't know why I was so surprised and in tears.. (???).
You'll also get your first Annabeth + Percy kiss, okay, practically that's a spoiler but technically it's not because okay, who wasn't anticipating for this moment to happen?
Thanks for reading my review pals. I know it's been a year since I read this and you'll probably be annoyed that you find this on your feed but forgive me. xD...more

“People are more difficult to work with than machines. And when you break a person, he can't be fixed.”
This is just so fun and I love how this one takes more dramatic turns than the previews novel. This book is an introduction to how dangerous it really is and we come to think of them not only as adventures and as heroes but as people who can die just as easily as a human being. They are mortal, our heroes, not immortal.
Like I said, this series just gets more and mature and I think I love this more than if it had stayed like the first two novels. We get deeper into our characters feelings and realize how scared they really are, how they don't know what to await. It all becomes so complicated and realize that they'd sacrifice themselves for each other. That's the kind of friendship there is between our heroes.
For Aphrodite's sake, Annabeth just grab and kiss Percy because he really is blind when it comes to you. How can he not see that you love him just as much as he does? Kids. Hahah, I love how their relationship reaches into a more subatomic level, they are friends who have romantically feelings for each other which is so cute and I just want to make them kiss. Am I making any sense? I hope so.
Like I said, this gets more dramatic. This one was the most dramatic yet, but still it didn't lose it's funny edge and our heroes kept it at balance without making me cry my eyes out the entire time. Summing it up: it's still just as fun as it was, but it's far more mature....more

“Love conquers all," Aphrodite promised.
"Look at Helen and Paris. Did they let anything come between them?"
"Didn't they start the Trojan War and get thousands of people killed?"
"Pfft. That's not the point. Follow your heart.”
Advice from Gods. You should follow it or Zeus will smite his mighty thunder upon you. Lol, kidding. This was another awesome novel in this splendid series which I so wholeheartedly love. I feel like a kid reading this series, I feel like playing with my toys and going out to explore the world and find my own Gods and my own destiny, I'm sure it's out there somewhere waiting for me to come and grab it by the hair and live life at the fullest.
They are growing up and it's so beautiful to read about it. I read about how they change their minds and how they start becoming more adult-like even though they are still little and think the world is against them, which in this case, it really is. That was a pun. Lol.
Can Percy tell Annabeth how he feels about her? I love that shyness of him, it makes him that much more human and adorable and I remember being like him, in fact, I'm 19 and still am like him, which is a little awkward, oops. I love seeing our heroes falling in love, trying out new things, beating villains and going on quests which they don't know what they'll bring them.
It's them against the world, really and that couldn't be more true. Most teenagers think they have the weight of the world upon their shoulders, being anxious about all kinds of minute things and thinking about their life in twenty years. Just follow your heart, like Aphrodite said, for fucks sake, that's what matters. Us doing whatever our heart feels like.
This series gets deeper and deeper, it matures and at the same time the readers mature along with it. ...more

“Families are messy. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we're related for better or for worse...and try to keep the maiming and killing to a minimum.”
Who doesn't love our dearest Olympian Gods? I love this book so much, it's like a mini Odyssey hence the title, 'The Sea of Monsters'. Who doesn't love a little boy who takes on quests and goes to save and explore the world of the unknown.
Once more this left me at a loss for words. This worlds keeps getting better and better, messier and messier, and yes okay it's not the most accurate book about mythology and all, so, if you're a huge fan of the Greek mythology you should avoid this unless you're up for some fun and joy and lots and lots of adventure to blow your mind away.
I love how it all mixes so well together. I love the Camp and I love our heroes, I love the mythical creatures that are so picturesque.
What I love the most though is the fact it has so many human involvement without really losing its most important detail; That our heroes are half human too and they're flawed and not perfect, and they'll make mistakes. This is so important, because it doesn't loses its touch with humanity and it doesn't deify everyone.

“If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself.”
If I want my child to be reading anything when they are still young and innocent, I'll try giving them books such as this one. Certainly, not shitty, erotica books because I don't want my child to lose its virginity by the time they are 13, yup, no thanks.
This book is so adventurous, it makes me teary just thinking about what an amazing experience it was. I didn't want this to end. Was it Rick Riordan's captiving prose and never-boring characters that kept me so interested? Or was it the amazing storyline and how this world was so smartly crafted?
I can re-read this anytime which I think is what every author wants to accomplish when their readers are reading a book of theirs? If I was an author, I'd just want my readers to be filled with emotions such as joy and satisfaction after reading my books. This book accomplished that one thing.
The characters are so endlessly smart, they are smart-alecks to be honest. They are all so young and I just can't help thinking about their inteligence and cunning that they so early started showing.
