Exactly what you’re looking for in romantic fantasy. The spicy romance, the adventure, and the high fantasy! It meets the trifecta! It’s like a classic fantasy read. Grumpy meets sunshine. I don’t find this to be true enemies to lovers. They are mad at each other a lot, but I don’t consider that enemies to lovers. I don’t consider this a dark fantasy either. It’s in the night (on the borders of shadow fae) Wraith Fae realms if that’s what you mean by dark? Yes King Goll is brutal, vicious and morally gray, but is a complete cinnamon roll to Una. The Wraith Fae do have traditions that are unsavory and that does make it a darker theme. Maybe I’ve just read too much dark stuff lol!
One of the very few things I didn’t like about it is that the relationship happened really fast. I felt like they could’ve used a little bit more time to development. That’s why it’s not quite a five star but so very close!
Still excellent and one of my top favorite reads of this year! Right up my street!!!
Will I be reading the next one? Yes, most definitely yes!
tropes; Arranged political marriage… kind of… it was more like; marry me or I’ll destroy your people. Fated mates Dark mean, brutal shadow and Wraith Fae Sweet, loving, kind, Moon/light Fae Epic quest to save the people Pregnancy/ Breeding Dragon riders Ancient prophecy One dragon (like one horse) Kidnapping Found family Betrayal

This romantic high fantasy is fast paced, a quick read and very entertaining! Nicely written fantasy adventure that’s easy to follow with no plot holes. Just wish the book was longer. I felt like we stayed in the same spot for a long time. The book just focused on the kidnapping, the forced marriage because she became property of war, and the villain (MMC) trying to keep everyone’s hands off of her. There is more to it of course, with a couple epic battles and an interesting new Fae world. I just wish there was more lol! The ending opens up to a lot of possibilities! Looking forward to the next book! It opens up into a world with a princess surrounded by villains…. Tropes; Kidnapping, one unicorn(like one horse trope, but but on a fire unicorn) taken to the Fae realm, spoils of war force marriage, villain with feelings, touch her and you end, sword battles, Stabby MFC, find her sister, cinnamon roll MMC, one bed, spicy, but not too spicy. More intimate than super spicy. 4/5...more

It is full of political intrigue, a little bit of swords play, internal castle drama and a lot of a very beefy, very sweet half Orc cinnamon roll! It follows the story’s and shared POV’s with both the MMC in the MFC. I really love dual POV in a book because you get to understand the inner workings of both the characters and it just helps me fall in love with both of them. This is the second book in the monstrous world series.
We follow another halfling orc who is half human and half orc and wants to better his future and share his knowledge of blacksmith. He comes to work at a castle and for a young lady of the realm. Can he prove himself and show his worth? Wondering who is featured mate will be and his dreams are big! Then we fallow A beautiful young lady who is new to being an heiress, and who is shadowed, and mentally tormented by her deranged brother. Is she mentally strong enough to run her realms?
Friends to lovers with a slow burn at the beginning, but the spice once it kicks in is wonderfully placed! Nice and spicy I will tell you ...more
