Wenn du dies lesen möchtest, weil du Friends geliebt hast und mehr über die Show erfahren möchtest...leg das Buch weg… Es ist nichts für dich.
Dies ist eine Geschichte über Sucht, darüber wie eine Person sich mehrmals durch die Hölle gebracht hat und immer noch um einen Schritt davor ist.
Es geht hier definitiv nicht darum, wie ein süßer Kanadier Hollywood erobert hat, zig Millionen Dollar in der beliebtesten Serie der Welt verdient hat, sehr berühmt geworden ist und erfolgreich mit Julia Roberts (und hunderten anderen Frauen) ausgegangen ist.
Es ist genau das Gegenteil davon.
Der Kerl war süß, aber er hatte seit seiner Kindheit psychische Probleme. Er eroberte Hollywood ganz zufällig (in Wirklichkeit war er nur einen Schritt davon entfernt, Chandler nicht zu werden, obwohl diese Rolle wie für ihn geschrieben schien). Hat viel verdient, aber lest, WIE VIEL er für den Kampf gegen Sucht ausgegeben hat. Die Affäre mit Julia Roberts kann er immer noch nicht vergessen, doch die Art und Weise, wie er sich ihr gegenüber verhielt, ist einfach nur scheußlich. Jetzt ist er über 50 Jahre alt und weit davon entfernt, das ruhige Leben einer Berühmtheit zu führen, obwohl er alle Möglichkeiten dazu hat.
Kurz gesagt: Wenn ihr diese Memoiren in die Hand nehmt(und ich empfehle sie zu lesen) denkt daran, dass es sich um eine Tragödie handelt. Sehr lehrreich, mit vielen interessanten Momenten und Geschichten, mit einer sehr tiefen Offenlegung seiner Probleme und Abhängigkeiten.
Perry erschien mir als kranker, unglücklicher Mensch, aber mit einem inneren Licht, mit einem gütigen Herzen, einer gütigen Seele und mit einem super interessanten Sinn für Humor. Und hier ist eine coole Übereinstimmung, denn Chandlers Witze, für die wir ihn lieben, sind Matthew Perry-Witze.
Ich habe es relativ schnell gelesen, ich war sehr daran interessiert, etwas über Perrys Kindheit und sein Leben nach „Friends“ zu erfahren. Manchmal war es traurig, manchmal weinte ich vor Lachen. Manchmal ist es kaum zu glauben, WIE er in „Friends“ mitspielen und gleichzeitig 55 Pillen pro Tag nehmen konnte, sich wegen Alkoholismus behandeln lassen und gleichzeitig eine Flasche Wodka am Tag trinken und sich verschiedenen Entgiftungskuren unterziehen konnte, die einen umbringen können.
Es war für mich manchmal schwer der Geschichte zu folgen da es immer wieder Zeitsprünge ohne Jahresangaben gibt. Manchmal hat es einen halben Kapitel gedauert bis ich verstand welches Alter Metthew gerade hat. Aber er scheint mir ehrlich zu sein. Charismatisch. Ich empfehle euch, diese Memoiren zu lesen, in die Welt einzutauchen, wie Perry sie sieht, zu versuchen, sie zu verstehen und vielleicht Chandler Bing neu zu entdecken....more
