In short order, what she thought was a magical experience turned out to be something else, she lost her job, and her life slid into a downward spiral. The only thing she had going for her was a slightly fictionalized version of her life in an ongoing webcomic.
A year later, at a job she hates with an abusive boss, Ellie is essentially stagnating until she meets someone at work. She gets a very unusual offer that could solve all of her problems. Naturally things don't go smoothly, and there are a lot of twists and turns as the odd story progresses.
The narrator did a great job with this book, and there was some very well done character development. Sure, there were some unbelievable coincidences, but then there's the whole "willing suspension of disbelief" thing. It was a fun story. ...more
