A thrilling read!!
I’ve enjoyed previous books from Alice Feeney. I just had the audiobook this time but thought it was excellent. A great story that was very well performed.
The storyline had me gripped and kept me guessing (I had many guesses but they were almost all wrong). The story is told from the many characters point of view. I found it easy keeping everyone and their individual stories straight. The plot was implausible at times but I still found it very enjoyable. I loved how the story and characters all came together.
A complex and exciting mystery about difficult relationships, love, loss, revenge, grief and more!
I'd like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this novel. All opinions are my own....more

Alexis and her husband Sam have just bought a new home. The historic home at 51 Shadow Road is being sold “As Is” and calling it a fixer upper would be putting it lightly. However, it is in a terrific and exclusive neighborhood. Homes in this area are almost never put up for sale and never at the price Alexis and Sam paid. Alexis thinks it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The family moves in and are warmly welcomed by the neighborhood. But the unexpected death of one of their neighbors has Alexis wondering if she may have made a big mistake moving her family into the home on Shadow Road. And as more neighborhood secrets are revealed we will see just how far some people will go to maintain the status quo. For some people it’s all about keeping up appearances.
“Doing what looks good and making sure everyone walks away with the right impression.”
The story is told from the two main characters, Alexis and Blair’s point of view. There is a lot going on with many of the characters and at times I had a hard time keep all of the couples (and their issues) straight. But the plot was intriguing and I was excited to read what would happen next. There was lots of foreshadowing and red Herrings. At times I found the direction a bit hard to follow. However, I enjoyed the twists and liked how things came together in the end. Overall, it was an enjoyable read. A very good debut novel.
I look forward to reading more from Melissa Adelman.

Night Will Find You was an exciting and engaging read.
Vivvy Bouchet is an astrophysicist with a very special gift. Vivvy hates when people use the word psychic. When Vivvy was ten her gift helped her save the life of a local boy. That boy is now a Fort Worth cop who believes in Vivvy and hopes she will help him solve a very cold case. A little girl disappeared many years ago. Her mother was convicted of the crime but has always maintained her innocence.
Vivvy agrees to help with the cold case. But she’s up against many who don’t believe in her gift. Especially a loudmouth conspiracy theorist podcaster named Bubba Guns. Vivvy also butts heads with a detective who isn’t thrilled to be working with the “psychic to the cops”. It’s not long before followers of Bubba Guns begin harassing Vivvy. It quickly starts to get out of control.
What will happen when Vivvy decides to fight back?
This was an excellent psychological thriller. It has a missing girl, conspiracy theories, revenge, and more! Filled with suspense, it held my interest and there were a few twists that I never saw coming.
The audiobook was narrated by Karissa Vacker. I was thrilled when I saw she was narrating. She’s absolutely one of the best.
I’ve heard that this may not be the last we hear from Vivvy Boucher. I will be thrilled if there is a sequel!

Suspenseful, fast-paced, and entertaining with complex characters and great twists and turns!
I was thrilled to receive a copy of Windfall. The description really intrigued me. I’m a sucker for “rags to riches” stories. So a story about three friends winning a billion dollar lottery was an automatic must read for me.
Leila, Molly, and JJ were once the best of friends. They were all the same age and born in the month of September. They haven’t seen much of each other since college. They decide it’s been long enough and make plans to celebrate their 40th Birthdays together in Las Vegas.
The three friends buy a lottery ticket carefully picking numbers that mean things to each of them. Lightening strikes and their winning numbers are pulled. They have won a BILLION dollar payout. They make a decision to contact a wealth management agency. The Los Angeles agency is called Windfall. Windfall is run by Shea Daniels who promises to make the transition easier for all of them.
They decide to meet Shea at her property in LA. Windfall is a beautiful place with a huge waterfront mansion and terrific views. But many say the property is haunted after a famous actress mysteriously disappeared. No one knows what happened to her.
And now it seems like history just might be repeating itself…
This was a great summer read!
An exciting and gripping thriller that I read in just a couple of sittings. I especially enjoyed the chapters with the transcripts from the podcast, Disappearing Acts, which helped to increase suspense.
This dramatic read about three old friends, an unexpected windfall, a haunted mansion, disappearances, plus California wildfires was totally engrossing.
They say everyone has a book in them. Wendy Corsi Staub has many many more. I’ve read and enjoyed quite a few of Wendy Corsi Staub’s stories. This talented author has written almost 100 novels. I am very excited to read more of them!

I've enjoyed this author's previous novels. I was really looking forward to reading this one but feel a little bit let down. It wasn't a bad read by any means but I guess I just had higher hopes for it. Still it was an easy read and a good time killer. I'm still looking forward to reading what the author comes up with next. ...more

Twenty-four-year-old, Catherine Sterling is very worried about her mother, Ruth. Ruth has started forgetting things. Catherine tries to tell herself that everyone forgets things now and then. But it’s been happening more and more frequently. So Catherine and Ruth are going to see a neurologist. Catherine is sure the neurologist will reassure them that everything is okay. He’ll have an easy fix.
Catherine knows almost nothing about her mother's past. She doesn’t know where she grew up or went to school. She hasn’t seen any photos of other family and doesn’t even know the names of her mother’s parents.
It never bothered her before...
What Catherine doesn’t know is her mother isn’t just keeping secrets about her past. And what her mother doesn’t know is Catherine is also keeping secrets.
What will happen once these buried secrets come to light?
I was riveted by this page turning and exhilarating domestic suspense!
I really couldn’t put it down. I flew through the novel especially since I had both the ebook and audiobook. Both were fantastic. The audiobook was wonderfully narrated by Kate Mara.
The story is told from Catherine and Ruth’s point of view. The addition of diary entries from Ruth’s teenage years added an extra layer to the plot. The story was loaded with suspense, emotion, twist, turns, and terrific characters.
This was a truly unique and exciting read.
I honestly can’t wait to read more from Sarah Pekkanen.
