Meredith Wilchester is not the poor little rich girl everyone seems to think she is. Ok, she’s way down on her luck… not forgetting down to her last buck, In any case, she’s resilient and determined to make her own way. Leaving the life and marriage behind in only the clothes she stands in, the only place she can think to go is to see her estranged step sister, Helen. With her outlook looking bleaker by the minute, If nothing but tenacious, Meredith manages to wrangle herself a job filling in for her sister whilst she’s away. She isn’t concerned that she hasn’t had a job in... well ever, but she’s excited about the door of opportunity being opened for her.
Jack McNight takes great pleasure in slamming the door in the face of the hapless princess on his porch. Overdressed and under qualified the last thing he wants to do is babysit his executive assistant’s younger sister. From the little he’s heard she’s pampered with a capital P, but he soon finds he can add persistent and pushy to the list too.
R.S. Grey once again delivers a devilishly good enemies to lovers romance filled with quirky humour and sexual tension rivalling the Texas heat. Although an enjoyable read, there where a few niggles that held me back from higher rating.

I am in a committed relationship with Sara Ney’s brand of sports romance. I mean, what’s not to love? Just like a titillating love interest I’m reduced to a giggling mess by the funny, sexy, addictive nature of it all.
Take "Rowdy" Wade for example; he’s unluckily drawn the short straw that is keeping straight laced “Sober Scarlett” from killing the vibe at any more of the infamous Jock Row parties. Far too sensible, she easily cuts through the bull spewed to save her friends from their future mistakes. The mistakes being Rowdy’s teammates.
As far as Scarlett is concerned she’s doing a her friends a solid, disgruntled jocks be damned. How they can be enamoured by the cheap gimmicks of the baseball players she’ll never know. She’s merely doing a service, so Rowdy Wade and his perfect face can think if they think they can stand in her way.
Every Friday night begins with the same impasse. Scarlett attempts to enter and Rowdy stops her. They’re having more fun than requires admission but the one thing they can’t deny is their flagrant attraction to one another.
It’s almost a book of two halves, what happens before they get together and what happens after. If I’m honest I still can’t decide which part I enjoyed more. I was hooked on the easy banter that flowed between them but it was the anticipation of the huge crescendo that really reeled me in.
With only a blooper here and there Jock Row is ‘the best bits’ of any sports romance story.

Brooke Simmons’ career is on the up, although the same cannot be said about her love life. She has an interesting list of priors when it comes to ex-boyfriends, and the latest in a line-up of disasters has led her to drowning her sorrows in a hotel bar. She has absolutely no business noticing the brooding guy in the seat next to hers but she does so anyway.
Detective Sawyer Matthews has suffered a loss that has impacted both his career and personal life. His best friend and colleague was recently killed in the line of duty and he’s struggling been to come to terms with the loss. He has every intention of drowning his sorrows alone but he can’t help but find his interest piqued by the firecracker in the seat next to his. The sparks of interest give way to a burning physical attraction, and the result is an explosive night that burns into both their memories.
Being the new girl is the least of Brooke’s worries when she discovers her partner is none other than the one night stand and starring role of her recurring fantasy. She’s worked her behind off to land a position on the elite undercover detective squad, so what’s a few moments of embarrassment? She’s fully confident that they can deal with the situation like adults and not allow it to distract them from their work.
Going undercover in a strip club is not how Sawyer envisaged coping with his growing attraction to Brooke would go. He’s torn between his desperate need to infiltrate the gang responsible for his best friend’s murder, and keeping the woman he increasing cares for safe, even though she can fully handle herself. The conflict between the two lead him make some decisions that compromise their safety but it’s matters of the heart that threatens to lead to the greatest fallout.
STRIPPED was my first read by Tara Wyatt and it’s a novel easily read in one sitting. I enjoyed the friction between work/personal life and it made the steamy scenes all that more illicit. The stripper element made for lighter moments but I’m not going to lie, I would have loved many more a scene of Sawyer in his glittery thong. The addition of the supporting cast gave a great segue into the next novels in the series, and I’m looking forward to Wyatt turning up the H.E.A.T.

For American, Ella Durran, attending Oxford University on the prestige Rhodes Scholarship is the culmination of years of hard work and determination. The idea was born during a tumultuous period in her adolescence so she fully intends to embrace this incredible experience and opportunity of a lifetime
Her visions of her first experiences in Oxford do not include a near miss with a local and his car, but alas that’s exactly what happens. Off to a false start, she hits refresh with the heady anticipation of her first day of lectures. She soon finds herself choking in the shock when standing in for her lecturer for the next year is none other than the local from the night before. He’s just as handsome and smug as she remembers, and with a reputation to match as she finds out from her newfound friends.
As an astute student the criticisms she receives from her piece of writing are hard to swallow, but more so is the way he challenges her thinking and permission she doesn’t give herself to feel. It’s an exchange that affects them both, bringing with it insight that scratches the surface of the many lessons they will teach each other.
What begins as a deceptively heart-warming tale and exploration of a new city becomes heartfelt story with depth and unfettered emotion.
My Year in Oxford is the wonderful debut from Julia Whelan. The love story stole the show but it has a wonderful supporting cast in the backdrop of Oxford along with the hilarious and lovable cast.

It’s impossible to have a conversation about Dark Romance without Pam Godwin’s name being mentioned. She has an incredible ability to combine barbarous and beauty, and as a result what begins as hard to watch transforms into a display one is simply unable to keep their eyes from.
Although the synopsis to Knotted eludes to a traumatic incident, such is the skill to Pam’s writing I still managed to feel caught off guard by the events that take place. So shocking and hard-hitting was it, I felt bruised by its impact and emotionally raw.
For childhood sweethearts Jake and Conor, life irrevocably changes on that night. In it’s wake is a path that leads their lives careening in two different directions. For Conor she feel nothing but abandonment, but Jake has been bidding his time to bring her back to the home where she belong.
You’ll find I am being purposefully vague but that’s because I feel it’s a story best to express blind. That said, I found it hard to stay in the spirit in the story when it came to Jake’s understanding of what it meant to help Conor heal. I personal didn’t find him qualified enough to this in that regard, so I couldn’t help but feel removed when it came to this.
With Knotted Pam cleverly plots a storyline that not only ties its characters together by their harrowing experiences, but she also paves the way for the rest of the Trails of Sin series.

Revenge is the dish of the day for college student, Jensen Graham. Bitter from being robbed of a life she could have had, it’s no coincidence her years of planning have led her to this moment and “chance” meeting with Rhett Montgomery.
Rhett is instrumental in Jensen’s plot. The “problem” is, he’s nothing like the image she had formed of him. The more she gets to know him, the harder it is to focus on her plan.
As a reader some things become clearer as the story develops but it’s still plain to see there’s a lot of mystery still surrounding the story. Rhett is sweet guy but there seems to be some underlying torment there.
By way of introduction it’s a solid one. Jensen has obviously had a hard life so I found myself making concessions for her when I otherwise may have not.
The story ends on a high note, and I’m looking forward to more with the next instalment.
