Least Favourite Book of February 2022 Featured in my blog's February Wrap Up
I liked the The Alpha Queen Legacy series because the Heroine was the most dominant wolf, clearly surpassing each of the packs' Alphas. In other RH or paranormal shifter romances, when the Heroine is Alpha, it's rare that she's more dominant than every man in the book. But, Pack Claimed managed to seriously ruin this exciting approach to the Chosen One fantasy RH romance. Instead of the men respecting that she's their dominant, they agree to listen to some random Oracle (whom none have ever met) and force the Heroine to submit to them as a group through the mating challenge (essentially the Heroine vs. five men). What could've made the scene less toxic was having the men tell the Heroine was had to happen and get her consent but nope! They all decided they – and some random Oracle – knew better, which resulted in them blindsiding her and explicitly betraying her trust.
Also, while the Chosen One RH paranormal fantasy book has been done many times over, you can see from my reading shelf that I enjoy these books when there's a unique twist on the well-used tropes. However, the tropes used in Pack Claimed weren't unique and created a repetitive plot.
