Darling Melody was a beautiful mix of the rockstar romance I loved of EL and all the emotions of Bitter Riff.
I absolutely loved Beatrix, Queen Bea, and the lead of the rock band Deity. We’re going on a world tour with them and this found family of rockers. We have the guys, Ronan, Maverick, Cole & Jordan, who Bea loves and who fit into a great found family.
As is the world of a world tour, there are some issues that the band has to face after a picture turns their worlds upside down. Addison did a great job with the drama being part of the plot but not the entire plot and I felt like I was a part of their story. We’re in the thick of it between Bea and the guys, it was emotional, but when we got to the *fun* parts, oh my gosh it was GOOD.
When we hit the heavy part of the story, holy moly I wasn’t prepared for how bad it would be. I honestly felt like my own heart was breaking with some parts of this story. It was true heartbreak for our characters that you could feel coming off the pages.
We go through a lot of emotions with this book, loss of a loved one, mental health issues, and a few other heavy topics. Make sure you check the TW/CW before starting this beautifully tragic and amazing story.

I am super picky about grovels, usually, they're not enough for me, but wow. Just WOW, Aly did an amazing job balancing the grovel, with forgiveness and "punishments". I won't give it away, but it's GOOD, like WOW I’m crying actual tears in a few areas good.
We pick up right after River comes into the conference room and mic drops that she’s in charge of them, and they’ve gotta suck it up. The band is in shambles, there are secrets coming out of the wazoo, danger, anger, wtf moments, and just an adorable 4-year-old little girl. I also wasn’t sure how Aly would be able to redeem the guys, I mean, especially after how they talked to her in the first “meeting”, I swear. I’d love to have throttled them into a different planet LOL.
River has grown so much since the guys up and left, and she is an amazing woman, wife, sister, and friend. She also knows that there are some things that need to get out in the open between her, the guys, and the daughter, they don’t know about… or do they? The amount of information that comes through between what the guys learn, and what River learns. It’s mind-blowing!
We also get to see a lot of different POVs at the right time, it was like Aly KNEW we needed to see a specific POV next and gave it to us. There are also a few plot twists that I didn’t see coming, and a crazy WTF moment lol. I loved seeing Kaycee and her guys, the kids, and all of the fun side characters.
I loved their ending, and it was perfect for them. Aly you did an amazing job with this book. I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us ...more
Oh wow, I've sat on this review since I finished the book and I had very few words. And it went like this "...Jenn you broke my heart..."
Because damnOh wow, I've sat on this review since I finished the book and I had very few words. And it went like this "...Jenn you broke my heart..."
Because damn does Jenn know how to beat up your heart really well with little reprieve in book 2. Let's get it started, everyone in this book is having an incredibly hard time, people are fighting their demons in whatever way they can. It feels like the darkness is swallowing them all whole and they won't find their way out. Lennon's mom and anyone that is in her "circle" is horrible and I just want to scream.
Jenn really knows how to get into the dark and real world, they truly hit rock bottom. And be mindful of the TW/CW that she has in this book because it is darker than the first. Even though some things are... put back together in a "sense" not everything is back to normal, as you can imagine. I am intrigued by Orion, I didn't see his entire character coming and I can only imagine what comes next with him. I mean honestly for all of them it's been a flipping roller coaster, Roark, Turner, Derek, and our poor girl Lennon. She is so damn strong, but everyone has their struggles.
I know that Jenn won't make book 3 without struggles but I am looking forward to their HEA. The continued redemption and all of the vengeance that is coming. Make sure that when you do read this have a comfort read that will bring some joy in your life.
Jenn btw my heart is still broken, and I'm side-eyeing you V hard. But Love you! ...more
Oh my gosh, I was so excited to be getting Kara's story! And the fact that it's with N'Pact! After reading her sister's story and everything they all Oh my gosh, I was so excited to be getting Kara's story! And the fact that it's with N'Pact! After reading her sister's story and everything they all went through I was curious as to what Kara would go through to find her HEA. It was a long road filled with action, angst, and the fun knotting, heats, and binding that comes with omegaverse.
After Kara doesn't receive a match despite being the "best" omega, she doesn't know how to react! She has wanted a pack all of her own and that's been her sole purpose, being the perfect omega for the pack of her dreams, that never comes. She finds herself in the pool of N'Pact after she escapes the omega compound to visit her sister, who lives right next door to the alpha boyband. These guys have had their own issues with omegas so they weren't sure what to do when Kara landed herself in their pool.
I loved watching Kara fall in love with the band, Alvie, Tate, Cal, and Avery. She really finds a way to bring them together after they've been pulled apart. I also loved the difference of stories between Kayla's and Kara's stories. We had some fun character crossovers and I liked seeing them! I am super curious as to what is going on with Omega Match, seems like something funky is happening!
Can't wait to see more of this amazing world that Maya created! ...more
