Juliet catches her hub with his pants down with his secretary, can you say cliche? Anyway, she's off to the UK for a fresh start.
Loved someone being murdered over a rare book and the clever title. Juliet did an okay job with her sleuthing.
Overall, I enjoyed this one well enough that I just might listen to more of the series since they're on hoopla, but probably only if they're a bonus borrow.
Narration notes: The synthesized voice wasn't awful, but our main character is American, yes I know she's in England, but I think she should have been American.

Lyndsay is set to open up a new bakery in town, but Claudio is not too happy as he thinks it a competition to his own bakery even though they sell different items. Then Claudio turns up dead and guess who is the number one suspect?
I didn’t care for Lyndsay too much, but I didn’t mind her amateur sleuthing. I love that recipes are added at the end, but obviously that shows better in the book and not on audio.
Overall, I don’t read too many cozies, but I liked it well enough. There was some repetition, which made it a bit slow moving, though. I don't see myself continuing on with the series unless it's another Hoopla bonus borrow like this one was.
Narration notes: I don’t have any complaints about her performance.

Eleanor is an author on tour in Italy, with a whole bunch of people, planning out her 10th book in a very popular series, which stars her 'friend', Connor. She's ready to kill him off in the series and he just so happens to think there's someone that actually wants him dead in real life, too.
Eleanor speaks directly to the reader (which was interesting) as we're along on the ride trying to figure out who the murderer is. With a cast of unlikable characters/suspects we are thrown for a few loops, but ultimately it's not super hard to figure out.
I can't remember exactly Eleanor's age, but I think she's in her 30's. I don't know if immature is the right word for her, but I just wish she had her act together more. She relies way too heavily on her younger sister, Harper, who is her assistant, for every little thing. The whole blackmail Connor bit was a meh, too.
Overall, cozy is not my go to for murder mysteries, but the humorous and fun moments kept me entertained, even if it took me an unusually long time (5 days) to get through it. So while I didn't hate it I'm not sure this is the right series for me.
*There are quite a bit of footnotes, which are not bothersome in the audio, and actually make listening quite fun, but I gather from those that read it that they cannot be read seamlessly. So take that into consideration if you choose to read this one*
Narration notes: Elizabeth did an outstanding job giving each character a distinct voice.

I can't say the book excited me, but it was a quick and easy cozy mystery that follows Millie as she investigates Ingrid's claim that she saw a girl being pushed off a roof. There's also the fact that there's a rumor floating around still a year later that Millie killed her own parents. Let's not leave out that there's been some black panther sightings to keep the book moving along. Although it was quick in time, it was quite slow in parts.
Overall, fine, but I'm not super big on cozy mysteries, so it's tbd if I'll continue on with the series.

Book 2 in the Pies Before Guys Mystery ~ I suppose fine as a standalone.
Featuring ~ single 1st person POV, cooking competition, cozy mystery
Daisy is back and making her deadly pies. She enters a cooking competition and the judge is the intended victim.
While I love watching them on tv, and it was a fun part of the story, I felt like it took up too much of the book. It was a bit slow going trying to figure out who killed Brian before Daisy was able to. I wanted more killer pies. There were some good concoctions made though and I like how recipes are listed at the end.
Overall, this was fine and if you're into cozy mysteries you might like this one.
I was fortunate enough to receive a kindle copy and the audiobook to review. Tanya Eby did an alright job for 7 hours and 43 minutes.
