I think we might get more about their respective family backgrounds (re: understanding how their families feel about their sexualities) in the next volume, but in this one we just get to see Kasuga & Nomoto get to know one another through sharing meals and cooking new things. I wish some of the food pages were in color!...more

I found it oddly sectioned - it starts with the first of March in "Spring" and ends the book with February 29th on Frog Legs Day in "Winter".
There's three to five recipes per month opposite the relevant "day" page, but they were disappointingly simple or boring (ex: "homemade hamburgers" next to September 18th, Cheeseburger Day, with nothing revelatory about the recipe except for an absurd amount of brown sugar in it). Why no recipe for Orange Blossom Day (June 27) or Penuche Day (July 22)? Not the choices I would have made....more

Action Bronson might have a weird Thing about ketchup, but he clearly knows his shit regarding good food. His enthusiasm specifically about natural wines has me curious.

Maybe I should bug Duo-La to translate a raw copy of this panel for me so I can know who fucked it up. someone is WRONG on the internet and must be brought to JUSTICE
ahem, anyway. We establish in this volume that English people fuck up curry on the regular due to their bland palates. Sebastian eventually proves himself as "one hell of a butler" with the cunning use of chocolate and pageantry.

I think that helped bring me into her (somewhat sparsely mentioned) setting....more
