This will definitely by in my top 10 for 2024. This story is super sweet, extremely clever and absolutely hilarious. I am not exaggerating when I say that I laughed out loud multiple times. I’m giggling now as I think back on some of the scenes including the fishing date and subsequent drive home where Neil torments cyclists. As funny as the book is, I love that it also dealt with some tough issues like divorce, co-parenting, bullying and more. I could gush on and on but will stop except to say that Kerry Gilbert was the absolute perfect narrator. She truly brought Anna to life for me. ...more

Skye and Dante have both carried so much pain and the weight of heavy responsibilities at a young age. They are both old souls who are guarded and heartbroken and not willing to get close to many people. It was inevitable that they would bond over the heartbreaks they’ve both experienced. Their story isn’t smooth sailing but it’s beautiful, passionate and worth reading/listening to! The narrators were both wonderful. ...more

Plus my dad was a pharmacist for 40 years so it was an added bonus that Augusta and her father were both pharmacists. I would have loved this book even without these synergies though. It was such a beautiful story about love, loss, family drama, second chances and so much more. The dual timelines worked perfectly. I adored Augusta as a teen and loved her no nonsense ways as a senior. The narrator was perfect for her! I have deep respect for Andrew for all he did to shine a light on the atrocious happenings and for the countless hours he has spent helping so many children in the system. They used the word astonishing multiple times and it is incredibly appropriate. I am disheartened and disgusted by the gross abuse of power and the number of officials who have overlooked bold facts and hard evidence time and time again just to get a conviction and then to make the convictions stick. Thank God for groups like Centurion Ministries and The Innocence Project. I am thankful that books like Framed shed light on the serious problems in our justice system....more

I knew that this would be a must read for me when I read the synopsis and when I saw the following quote on the first page I knew the book would exceed expectations!
Napoleon Bonaparte’s quote: “Champagne. In victory one deserves it, in defeat one needs it.”
This book was really well written and Rebecca Rosenberg is an incredible storyteller. The historical aspects were very interesting and the character development was wonderful. Barbe-Nicole was a tenacious and courageous forward thinker who forged ahead against countless obstacles. The additional characters were unique and entertaining as well. I didn't know much about Napoleon Bonaparte or his role in history so that angle of the book was interesting.
Loving champagne isn’t a must to enjoy this book but it is an added bonus. I definitely enjoyed my fair share of Veuve Clicquot while reading this delightful book!

Elizabeth Stone and her daughter Juliet will both be unforgettable characters for me. I was intrigued by the Elizabeth Stone that everyone thought they knew and grew to truly respect the "real" Elizabeth as her story unfolded. I can't imagine the shock and pain and anger Juliet must have felt as she started to learn about all the lies and secrets as she dug into her mother's life. I absolutely devoured this audiobook and Jenn Lee was the perfect narrator to bring it to life. The parts of the book that took place in New Orleans were an added bonus. She seemed like such a realistic character as she juggled the responsibilities of being a wife, mother, sister and daughter while also exploring career opportunities. On the work front, I sympathized as she dealt with a narcissistic colleague and also discovered that a former friend (who has become very successful) stole some of her work. The pressure of the upcoming holidays added to the frenzy and Kate was forced to examine her life and consider changes. Although Kate was dealing with some heavy issues, this book was very entertaining and quite relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed it! ...more
