First time I read it I could not put my finger on why I don’t like this. I think I got it. It’s not the nearly all female cast, that is to be expected from the writer who likes strong female characters, but it’s more that the combo of the writer channeling her inner Bendis and trying to out too many words on each page along with the artist not really having a good command over how to layout a page. Seeing characters react to so startling event and having the big reveal be a tiny frame not being able to tell even what was in the box. Just the flow between panels and pages is not there yet. And I hope it gets better

But because the concept of lament is so much bigger than I had ever thought possible so I am sure I am not up to it, that’s where the Holy Spirit will have to come in.
