The story starts off with Bluebell, the newly appointed Wish Fairy, buying some honey from the bumblebees that make the honey, in order to make some delicious honey cakes. But unfortunately, Bluebell ends up being arrested by Queen Caraway and it turns out that the Queen’s honey has been stolen. So, Queen Caraway wishes for Bluebell to find out who stole her honey.
Can Bluebell solve this mystery? Find out in this book!
So, after reading the first book in this series, I was dying to read more adventures from Bluebell the Wish Fairy and man, this sequel does not disappoint me! P.J. Reed did a fantastic job at writing this story as the tone of this story shifts to a mystery genre, rather than be a straight up adventure genre like in the first book. I really loved this change in genre for the second book because I always loved reading mystery books and this book does a great job at setting up the mystery of who stolen the honey from the Queen and how Bluebell and her friends try to solve the case. I also loved the relationship that Bluebell has with both Tobin the Gnome and newcomer, Billy the bee as they both provided some interesting dynamics with Bluebell. Tobin is as usual, usually stern with Bluebell, while Billy is much more playful towards Bluebell. Emma Gribble’s artwork is great to look at as they are simplistic yet beautiful and they greatly complement the cute and mysterious tone of this book.
Overall, “Bluebell and the Silver Palace” is a fantastic sequel to the first “Bluebell” book and if you love reading about mysteries and delicious food, then this book is definitely worth checking out! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing really inappropriate in this book.
So, I have been reading many fantasy children’s books over the years and I have read many children’s books that feature fairies in the stories. HoweveSo, I have been reading many fantasy children’s books over the years and I have read many children’s books that feature fairies in the stories. However, I have never read a book quite like this one! “Bluebell: The Wish Fairy” is a children’s book that is written by P.J. Reed, along with illustrations by Emma Gribble and it was quite a lovely book to read through! The story starts off with a fairy named Bluebell who becomes the new wish fairy and she is trying not to mess up on the first day of her new job. For her first mission, Bluebell will have to travel to the human world to grant wishes of little boys and girls. But unfortunately, since Bluebell has a tendency to be clumsy, many citizens in Therwen Wood do not believe that she has what it takes to become the wish fairy.
Can Bluebell prove everyone wrong?
Find out in this book!
So, I was quite surprised to be checking out this book since this is the first time that I have heard about this series. So, I read the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it! P.J. Reed did a fantastic job at writing this story as I found myself loving Bluebell as a character. Bluebell is such a relatable character, even though she is a fairy, because she tends to make a lot of mistakes, but always pulls through in the end, just like how so many people in real life tend to do. I also loved how the situation about the fairies trying to grant children’s wishes is being seen as a job for the fairies, which makes how everything in this world function much more interesting. Emma Gribble’s illustrations are truly beautiful to look at as the world and the characters look realistic yet beautiful at the same time. I especially loved the artwork for when Bluebell accidentally made a mistake by bringing in a dragon to a little boy and you can see the dragon blowing its flames towards the little boy, since it is something that I would have never expected to see in a children’s book about fairies.
Overall, “Bluebell: The Wish Fairy” is truly a fun and cute book that anyone who is a fan of fairies should definitely check out! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is not much frightening content in this book.

Hingorani, I was not expecting this book to suddenly have a massive shift in tone halfway through.
The book is about a famous comedian named Calvin “The Comic” Everswood and even though he puts on a funny façade whenever he is doing his stand-up gigs, he is secretly suffering in his life as he suffers from drug addiction and ended up pushing away all of his former friends. Now, not only is Calvin dealing with his stand-up comedy shows, but he also tries to recover from his drug addiction, while trying to rekindle his relationship with his old friends.
Wow…just wow again…. When I started reading this book, I thought that this was going to be a humorous book about the life of a comedian. Even though this book does have some humorous moments with Calvin’s stand-up act, the story suddenly becomes a tragedy once we are introduced to Calvin’s drug addiction and how it is ruining Calvin’s life. G. Hingorani’s writing in this book is spectacular as it details the downward spiral of Calvin’s life, as he gets addicted to drugs and he ends up losing his friends because of it. It really made this story extremely intense and sad to read through and I was always hoping for Calvin to try to turn his life around and become a better person. I also like the fact that this book did a great job at detailing the dangers of drug addiction and how it can ruin your life. I also loved the fact that G. Hingorani set up the book as a stage play as it made the book easier to read and it really made the story stand out to me.
This book does contain some strong and suggestive language that might be a bit uncomfortable for some people.
Overall, I really loved reading “The Comic!” It is such a dark and sad book about the dangers of drug addiction that many people should definitely check out!

The book So, I received a copy of this cute little children’s book called “The King Must Laugh” by Godwin Temisa and man, was this book a joy to read!
The book starts off with a dog named Sparky, who enjoys making people laugh and his dream is to become a clown for the King of the land. But unfortunately, Sparky ends up falling ill and he asks his friend, Mya the Cat, to go to the King and make him laugh in his place. So, Mya goes to the King’s palace and tries to make the king laugh, but she keeps on messing up her routine.
Can Mya make the King laugh and will Sparky’s dream to become a clown come true?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! This book was really enjoyable! I loved the way that Godwin Temisa made this book so cute and heartwarming to read through. I really loved the relationship between Sparky and Mya as they have a great friendship and I loved the fact that Mya was willing to help out Sparky, when Sparky got sick. Another thing that I liked about this book was the artwork. Godwin Temisa’s artwork was extremely unique, as the characters have odd and detailed designs and yet, those designs made the characters really stand out to me. The artwork reminded me of those 90s cartoons, like “Duckman” and “Rugrats” that have unique designs to the characters and the artwork in this book made me feel nostalgic for those cartoons.
Overall, “The King Must Laugh” is a truly adorable and heartwarming book for anyone who loves reading books that deal with friendships. I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

Thanks to author Daniele Vaccaro for providing me a copy of this book!
So, I had received a copy of a short story from author Daniele Vaccaro and this book was called “One Way Ticket to Earth” and man, it was such an emotional and fantastic read!
The story starts off with a young boy named Max who ends up dying and his death ends up badly affecting his parents. But suddenly, Max ends up being reincarnated as an alien being named Sveern and he ends up on a faraway planet called Anturn. During his time on the planet Anturn, Max longs to return back to Earth and go back to his parents, but the alien beings on the planet Anturn forbid him to return to Earth.
Can Max find his way back to Earth?
Find out in this emotional story!
Wow! I was quite amazed by how unique and emotional this story was! Daniele Vaccaro does such a fantastic job at writing this story, as this story is full of emotional moments and some surprising twists! I never would have thought that I would read a story that started off with parents grieving their child’s death and then, the second half of the story focuses on said child being reincarnated as an alien being who lives on another planet. This is such an interesting and unique premise to the usual story line about the death of a child and how the parents struggled with their child’s death, except that in this case, said child is reincarnated as someone else. I especially loved all the emotional moments throughout this story, especially the moments where Max’s parents are saddened by their child’s death as those moments hit me so hard since I lost a lot of loved ones over the years. Also, seeing how Max is homesick for Earth and his struggles with being on a different planet are also emotional moments that can strike a chord with anyone who has to move away from their homes to a new place and are struggling with getting used to their new location, while missing their old homes.
Overall, “One Way Ticket to Earth” is a truly fantastic short story about dealing with the loss of a loved one and also trying to get used to a new home. I would highly recommend this short story to anyone who wants to read a book about dealing with the loss of a loved one.

And lo and behold, this children’s book was quite a treat to read through!
The story starts off with a mouse named Newly who owns a turnip farm and he started out eating nothing but turnips for most of his life. But one day, Newly ends up going on a truck ride, but then he falls down a hillside and ends up dropping into a river. Newly then ends up washing up on shore and it was then that he finds a town and he ends up making friends with the people of the town and he would soon discover a new opportunity for himself that would change his life forever.
“Newly Turns Up” was quite a unique and heartwarming story that I found myself really enjoying! I loved the way that Terry Carbary wrote all of the characters in this story as all of the characters are extremely friendly and caring towards each other. I especially loved the fact that the people of the town just openly accepted Newly and his turnip farm and it was great seeing Newly make a good life for himself in a new town. I also loved reading about Newly’s farm life and seeing how he is able to do things on his farm, such as planting the turnips and creating bridges around his farm.
Overall, “Newly Turns Up” is a fantastic story about the importance of friendship and establishing a friendly community that many children will enjoy reading. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about the farm life and learning how to establish a caring community.

Bond, has given me an extremely intriguing mystery novel called “The Coyote” and man, was this such an interesting mystery novel to read!
The book starts off with a couple who were walking in the streets together when all of a sudden, the woman named Lana was murdered by a female passerby and Lana’s death ended up traumatizing her husband. It was then that Lana’s husband decided to go on a murdering spree to avenge the death of his wife Lana and he ends up murdering any woman who has blonde hair. This string of murders has attracted the attention of the police force and the police ended up hiring a young and capable detective named Choochai Sirisi, also known as Choo, and Detective Choo ends up spending most of the book trying to find out who has been murdering all of these innocent women.
David B. Bond has done a fantastic job at writing this book! I loved the way that the characters are written, as each character are extremely interesting and I especially loved the main character Choochai Sirisi himself, as he is shown as being an intelligent and nice detective who tries his best to get the job done. I also loved the fact that this story takes place in Thailand as I love reading books that take place in different countries and it was awesome seeing how the culture of Thailand is like. Another thing that I loved about this book was just how exciting this book was. David B. Bond has done a brilliant job at making the book both intense and exciting at the same time as we follow Choo’s determination in solving this murder case and trying not to get killed by the murderer. I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat, hoping that Choo would not get killed by the murderer while he was solving the case. I also loved the plot twist towards the end of this book as I did not see that coming and it really made the entire book even more enjoyable to read!
For anyone who does not like violent content, this book revolves around a murder and so, there are many graphic depictions of dead bodies, such as maggots crawling over the dead bodies, that might be a bit nauseating for some readers to handle. Also, for me personally, I felt that the ending of this book was a bit rushed as there were some plot threads that were left hanging. But, since this is the first book in the “Young Detective Choo Murder Mystery” series, it does make sense to leave some plot threads hanging in order to solve them in the next book.
Overall, “The Coyote” is a fantastic murder mystery that you should definitely read! Even if the mention of dead bodies might be a bit much for some readers and the ending was a bit rushed, this murder mystery novel does a fantastic job at keeping readers entertained from beginning to end and it is definitely a murder mystery novel that is worth reading!

So, over the years, I have read many children’s books that teach children about how to count numbers. But I rarely come across children’s books that teaches kids about what the highest numbers are and “Pebbles and the Biggest Number” is one such unique children’s book that teaches children about what the biggest numbers are!
Pebbles the Butterfly is on a mission to find out what the biggest number is and in order to search for the answer, Pebbles travels across the world and asks every animal he meets along the way. Of course, Pebbles’ journey is a dangerous one as he has to escape earthquakes, avalanches and tsunamis!
Can Pebbles find out what the biggest number is?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! This book was so cute and educational for me! Joey Benun has done a fantastic job at writing this story as we get to learn more about what some of the biggest numbers are such as, sextillion, septillion and octillion. I never thought that such numbers like sextillion and octillion actually existed and I’ve been learning numbers since elementary school! I had a lot of fun learning about what big numbers I haven’t heard about and I’m glad that there’s a children’s book out there that can educate children about what the biggest numbers in the world are! Laura Watson’s artwork is extremely adorable to look at! I loved the images of Pebbles the Butterfly himself as Pebbles looks adorable on each page! I also loved how colorful and energetic the artwork looks, especially whenever Pebbles meets up with a different animal throughout the story and whenever Pebbles tries to avoid any dangerous situations such as being around an earthquake or a tsunami.

Overall, “Pebbles and the Biggest Number” is a truly cute and educational children’s book for kids who want to learn more about numbers, especially what the biggest numbers are. I would recommend this book for children ages 5 and up since some of the detailed information featured in this book might be a bit confusing for smaller children.

Introduction:
Yes!!! I finally got around to reading “Saga Volume Eight!” I only need to get “Saga Volume Nine” soon to finish up this series! I found “Saga Volume Eight” to be a truly delightful volume to read from the “Saga” series!
What is this story about?
After the tragic events that happened on the Planet Phang in the last volume, the gang ended up in Abortion Town, which is a town that resembles the Old West. After Alana suffered a miscarriage when they were trying to escape the Planet Phang, they have to go to Abortion Town so that she could get an abortion. Also, it turns out that the miscarriage is temporarily giving Alana magic powers, but having these powers is slowly killing Alana. Can the gang help Alana abort the still born child before it is too late?
What I loved about this story:
Brian K. Vaughan’s writing: Wow! Seriously, Brian K. Vaughan just continues to write an amazing and bizarre series that constantly keeps me coming back for more! Brian K. Vaughan has done a brilliant job at making this story both exciting and emotional as I was seriously upset at the fact that Alana had a miscarriage and the emotional turmoil that she was going through during that situation. I also loved the fact that the rest of the crew were supportive of Alana and how they tried to help her deal with this traumatic situation as it showed us just how much closer this crew is becoming towards each other. I also loved the way that Brian K. Vaughan introduced the aspects of the Wild West into this story as it brings even more creativity to this series and I was interested in seeing how the Wild West would be portrayed in this series!
Fiona Staples’ artwork: Fiona Staples’ artwork is still as gorgeous as before, especially of the images of Abortion Town itself as it looks like a bizarre version of the Wild West! I also loved seeing all the bizarre alien creatures that inhabit this world as their appearances made the story even more interesting to read!

What made me feel uncomfortable about this story:
For anyone who does not like strong language, violence and nudity, there is quite a bit of all of the above in this volume, although this volume is surprisingly light on all of these aspects. Also, even though the rating for this volume is still pretty high, I could not give this volume a full six-star rating because the pacing was a bit slower here than in the previous volumes.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, “Saga Volume Eight” is a fantastic volume that really turns up the drama and excitement in this series and I cannot wait to read the ninth volume of this book soon!

Introduction:
So, let me tell you guys my history with “Sonic the Hedgehog” through the comic books. I grew up reading the Archie “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic books when I was a kid and I always enjoyed reading that series because that series tended to get pretty CRAZY and I LOVED IT! So, I was totally devastated when the series got cancelled after running for over 200 issues (which is quite an impressive feat for a comic book series based off a video game property). So, for many years, I thought that “Sonic the Hedgehog” would never come back to the wonderful world of comic books…until one fateful day, IDW announced that they were going to do a new “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic book series that featured the same writers and artists from the Archie series! At first, I was a bit hesitant about this announcement since I loved the Archie Comics and I did not want to see my precious series be replaced after all of these years. But the moment I picked up this first collection of IDW’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic book series, I was immediately HOOKED! I never thought that this series could actually be so good!
What is this story about?
Taking place after the events of the latest “Sonic the Hedgehog” video game “Sonic Forces,” the series starts off with Sonic the Hedgehog trying to take down Dr. Eggman’s remaining robot armies after the Doctor’s defeat in “Sonic Forces.” Along the way, Sonic meets up with some old friends (Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver) and some new friends (Tangle and Whisper) and they all help Sonic with taking down Dr. Eggman’s remaining robots. However, it turns out that Dr. Eggman had mysteriously vanished after the events of “Sonic Forces” and a new threat is actually the one controlling the robots.
Who is really behind all the robot attacks and what happened to Dr. Eggman?
Find out in this volume!
What I loved about this story:
Ian Flynn’s writing: So, for those of you who do not know, Ian Flynn is one of the original writers from the Archie “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic book series, meaning that he has been writing for this series for over 10 years! So, when I heard that he was coming back to write for this series, I was beyond excited since I loved his work in the Archie Comics. Ian Flynn has once again done a fantastic job at writing this collection of stories. I just loved the way that he portrayed each character, especially Sonic, Tails, Amy, Whisper and Tangle. I especially loved the numerous moments between the characters, especially between Sonic and Tails as we get to see their brotherly relationship with each other. I also loved the fact that Ian Flynn fixed a lot of the things that were controversial from the “Sonic Forces” video game (as that game seems to be extremely hated by the fans). For one thing, he made Tails into a braver and more enjoyable character like how he was portrayed in the “Sonic Adventure” games and I appreciated the fact that Ian Flynn fixed Tails’ character since Tails is one of my all-time favorite characters from the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise. Another set of characters that I really started to take a shining to are Tangle and Whisper. These are two new characters added for the comic book series and I already love these two characters! I just loved the way that these two characters were introduced into the story as they felt like they been a part of the Sonic cast for years, despite the fact that they are new characters. Also, this is a question I tend to ask myself:
“WHY WASN’T SONIC FORCES WRITTEN THIS WAY?”
One of my biggest gripes with the game “Sonic Forces” was how the story was so clunky and I was disappointed that we did not have any plot points about how the characters felt about the bleak situation they were dealing with in the game. In this new comic book series however, we actually get some good insight on how the characters felt about the events of “Sonic Forces,” like how Tails was worried that something bad will happen to Sonic again and whether or not he will break apart again. I just loved that moment between him and Sonic when they were talking about that situation and I just wished that “Sonic Forces” took the time to showcase such relationships between the characters.
The artwork: OH, MY GOODNESS! Probably the best part of this collection was the artwork itself! The artwork was done by several different artists who each brought something truly creative to the series. The artists are Tracy Yardley, Adam Bryce Thomas, Jennifer Hernandez and Evan Stanley. My favorite artwork in this collection is from Adam Bryce Thomas, Tracy Yardley and Evan Stanley. Adam Bryce Thomas’ artwork is probably the most epic out of the entire collection as I loved the way that the action scenes are drawn out and I loved that fact that his artwork has a more serious feel to them. Tracy Yardley’s art is a nice throwback to the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics since he was an artist from the Archie Comics. Evan Stanley’s art is so fun and amazing to look at since I loved the way that the characters have comical expressions on their faces whenever something funny or shocking happens to them.
What made me feel uncomfortable about this story:
One of the problems that I had with this collection was that I wished that the world that Sonic lived in was established a bit more. Now, as a long-time fan of the “Sonic the Hedgehog” series, I am already familiar with the world of “Sonic the Hedgehog.” However, if you are a new reader to this series or you are just getting into the “Sonic the Hedgehog” series, chances are you are going to be a bit confused about how certain events played out, like how did the war started in the first place? Also, one of the artworks from this collection was a bit off from the rest of the artwork. That artwork came from issue three and even though I did like the artwork from that issue, it stood out from the other artwork in the collection as the other artwork were smoother in style, while the artwork in issue three had more bolded lines for the characters.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, “Sonic the Hedgehog: The IDW Collection Volume 1” is a fantastic collection of stories that “Sonic the Hedgehog” fans will greatly enjoy! If you were a fan of the Archie Comics or you just want to jump into the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise through the comics, then you should definitely pick this collection up! Now, I am waiting for the second collection to come out soon!

So, after years of not being able to read any children’s books that dealt with animals (which are some of my all-time favorite children’s books), I finally came upon a children’s book that dealt with animals called “The Speckled Feather” by Johanna Ries. I must say that I really enjoyed this cute little story about friendship!
The story starts off with three birds named Ade, Emem and Nuru who all live on the back of an elephant in the savanna. One day however, a beautiful speckled feather is blown into their midst and when one of the birds picks up the feather and sticks it to themselves, the other birds quickly got jealous and they wanted the speckled feather for themselves, despite the fact that this is ruining their friendship with each other.
Will the birds stop fighting over the feather to save their friendship? Find out in this story!
Wow! This book was both fantastic and cute to read through! Johanna Ries has done an excellent job at both writing and illustrating this book! I just loved the way that Johanna Ries wrote this book as the narrative was simple yet impactful as the story shows the importance of friendship and how friends can argue with each other if something came between them. I was actually sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering if the birds will regain their friendship again, despite the appearance of the speckled feather. Johanna Ries also did a fantastic job at illustrating this book as the animals in this book look so realistic, especially the elephant that the three birds live on. I also loved the abstract look of the savanna as it has a simplistic look, but still conveys the appearance of the savanna pretty well.
Parents might be a bit concerned about one scene where the main characters are being chased by a predator. While this scene was pretty short, some smaller children might be a bit scared by the main characters being in any danger. Parents might want to read this scene first before reading it to their children.
Overall, “The Speckled Feather” is a fantastic children’s book about the importance of friendship and how your friendship is much more important than any materialistic thing. I would recommend this book to children ages five and up due to one intense scene in this book.

Wow! It has been a while since I last read a children’s book that dealt with sports! And I used to read lots of children’s books that dealt with sports when I was little! So, when I finally got back to downloading books from NetGalley again, I stumbled upon this interesting children’s book called “The Wolf in Underpants at Full Speed” by Wilfrid Lupano, along with illustrations by Mayana Itoiz and Paul Cauuet and man, did I have a fun time with this book!
Today is the day for the big race in the forest! But unfortunately, someone is ruining everybody’s fun as the posters have been vandalized! So, the other animals ask the Wolf in Underpants (yes, there is a Wolf running around in underpants in this story) to investigate this case and once the Wolf searches throughout the forest, he finds a little chickadee. It turns out that the chickadee is the one who is ruining the posters and the reason why he is lashing out is because he was born with one of his wings being shorter than the other and therefore, he cannot fly. Once the Wolf in Underpants learns of this, he decided that he will find a way for the chickadee to participate in the big race, one way or another!
Will the Wolf in Underpants be successful in getting the chickadee in the big race?
Read this story to find out!
Now, I will admit that I was a bit surprised to find out that this book is actually apart of a series called “The Wolf in Underpants” and this is the third book in the series! Seriously, NetGalley tends to only give out half of the books in a series and I usually find myself either reading the second or third book in a series first before reading the very first book in the series. Anyway, despite that, I really found this book to be so enjoyable and fun to read! Wilfrid Lupano did a fantastic job at writing this story as the wolf is portrayed as being a friendly guy who really wants to help out the chickadee with his predicament. I also loved how humorous and snarky this story is as all the characters, including the wolf himself, tend to make witty comments throughout the story, which really made this book fun to read! Mayana Itoiz and Paul Cauuet both did fantastic jobs at illustrating this book as the characters are humorous to look at and I loved the way that the forest is mostly in purple colors as it makes the forest look extremely unique from any other illustration that I have seen of forests in children’s books.
Overall, “The Wolf in Underpants at Full Speed” is both truly heartwarming and hilarious to read through and anyone who loves reading children’s books about sports and humor will definitely enjoy this book! I would recommend this book to children ages six and up since some of the humor might be a bit too witty for some smaller children.

Wow! It’s been a while since I last did a book review, hasn’t it? Anyway, I just recently received an ARC of this latest children’s book called “Far Beyond the Sun” by Dolev Zaharony along with artwork by Marian Naseif and I have to say that this was quite a cute book to read if you are into science!
The story starts off with a young boy named Brian who believed that he was the highest boy in the world. But then his friend Kelly tells him that he wasn’t as high as the sun. When Brian finds out that he isn’t as high as the sun, he decided to look through his books and see how he can become higher than the sun. He finds some of the highest locations on Earth, which includes the Pyramids in Giza and Mount Everest. So, Brian decided that he must climb the tallest mountains just to reach the sun.
Can Brian reach the sun?
Read this book to find out!
Dolev Zaharony has done a great job at writing this book as it shows that he has done some research on the different locations mentioned in this book, including describing how high these locations are, such as Mount Everest. I really liked the fact that we get to learn about the various locations in this story, especially about Mount Everest and the Pyramids in Giza because I always wanted to travel around the world and it’s great that we get to learn about these famous places. I also liked the fact that Brian is shown as a young boy who wants to be as high as the sun, which I found to be a cute motive. Marian Naseif’s artwork is adorable to look at as all of the characters’ expressions in this book are usually happy and excited which makes me believe the characters’ excitement at exploring this interesting topic.
Even though I like the fact that this story explored the various tall places around the world, I felt that there wasn’t a lot of meat to the story. While I understand that this is a children’s book, I wish that maybe they could introduce more locations in the book besides Mount Everest to help children see all of the tallest locations on Earth.
Overall, “Far Beyond the Sun” is a cute read for kids who enjoy reading about the tallest places on Earth. I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since the distance numbers of the locations might be too complicated for smaller children.

I was a bit familiar with Jan Brett’s “Gingerbread Baby” series and I was actually surprised that Edelweiss had a copy of the sequel “Gingerbread Christmas!” Since the Christmas holidays is around the corner, I figured that I might pick up a Christmas read and this was quite a cute book to read!
The Gingerbread Baby is back and this time, he wants to start a musical band to play with in the Christmas Festival. So, his friend Matti decided to bake the Gingerbread Baby a Gingerbread Band and the band ended up performing at the Christmas Festival. Everything was going fine for the band until the children started noticing how tasty the band smelled and this causes the audience to try and get at the band.
Can the Gingerbread Baby and his band get out of being eaten during Christmas?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! Jan Brett has one again created a wonderful story about the Gingerbread Baby and I found myself enjoying this book immensely! I loved the fact that the Gingerbread Baby wanted to start a band to play with at the Christmas Festival and it was interesting seeing how the Gingerbread Baby would escape from being eaten on Christmas since he is a…well, you know…a gingerbread cookie. I also loved the Gingerbread Baby’s relationship with Matti as Matti seems to be the only human being who does not want to eat the Gingerbread Baby. Jan Brett’s artwork is beautiful as always as all of the characters look so realistic! I also loved how colorful the artwork is, especially of the images of the Gingerbread Baby and his Gingerbread Band!

I have always loved reading children’s books that dealt with families and I stumbled upon this unique little book called “My Brother and Me” which was by Taghreed Najjar along with artwork by Maya Fidawi and it was truly an amazing and sweet read!
Aloush is the youngest member of his family and he has an extremely close relationship to his older brother Ramez. Ramez would drive Aloush to school on his way to work every day and he would allow him to hang out with his friends whenever they were watching a football game. But one day, Ramez started getting too busy to hang out with his little brother Aloush and it turns out that Ramez has actually fallen in love with a woman named Deema and is planning on marrying her. Aloush is upset at this because that would mean that Ramez would spend even less time with him and it was then that Aloush decided to come up with a plan to ruin Ramez’s relationship with Deema!
Wow! I never expected to enjoy this book as much as I did! Taghreed Najjar did a fantastic job at writing this story as I was interested in seeing Aloush’s relationship with his older brother Ramez and I even felt a bit sad for Aloush when his brother Ramez started spending less time with him. I always enjoyed reading books that dealt with families and Taghreed Najjar made me really love both Aloush and Ramez and their close relationship with each other. I also sympathized with Aloush as he was afraid of losing his older brother to Deema, even though he should not have tried to ruin his brother’s relationship with Deema in retaliation. I also loved the fact that this book apparently takes place in the Middle East since it is rare to read books from the Middle East and this book did a great job at conveying the culture of the Middle East. Maya Fidawi’s artwork was quite creative and cute to look at as all the characters have a scratchy yet adorable look to them and it made the artwork really stand out to me.
Overall, “My Brother and Me” was a truly cute children’s book about the importance of family and how you should not be afraid of anyone new moving into the family. I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

I have always loved reading various fairy tale retellings and I was in the mood to read another “Cinderella” retelling! So, I went on Edelweiss and I stumbled upon this unusual story called “If the Shoe Fits” by Deborah Guarino along with artwork by Seth Hippen and man, was it a truly hilarious and brilliant read!
Murray was a humble shoemaker who spent most of his days making shoes for the villagers. But one night, a large fairy suddenly comes to his house and begs him to make her a special pair of shoes for a certain maiden since her wand had ran out of powers. Murray then gives the fairy a pair of glass slippers and the fairy promises to reward him whenever she gets her magic back. But the next day, Mona, Murray’s clerk (and the woman he secretly loves) comes rushing inside his shoe shop and tells him about the prince trying to find the maiden whose foot can fit into the glass slipper that she left behind. And when Murray tells Mona that he was the one who made the glass slippers, Mona then begs him to make her a pair of glass slippers so that she can use them to present to the prince and marry him. Murray, who is actually crushed by this scheme, sadly makes Mona a pair of glass slippers and Mona goes to the prince to show him the glass slippers.
Will Mona marry the prince and will Murray lose the love of his life? Read this book to find out!
Wow…just wow!!! I never would have expected to enjoy this book as much as I did!!! Deborah Guarino’s writing is both hilarious and heartwarming and I really enjoyed this interesting twist on the “Cinderella” tale! I really loved Murray as a character as he was both hilarious and engaging and I really felt for him when he wanted to win Mona’s heart, despite Mona wanting to marry the Prince. I also loved how it was Murray who created the glass slippers for Cinderella since we get to see another character in this story that was not Cinderella. I also loved the twist of the story of how Mona wanted Murray to make the glass slippers for her and how the prince had nearly married the wrong woman. Seth Hippen’s artwork was truly hilarious to look at as most of the characters are drawn in exaggerated ways, especially the large fairy, who takes up most of the pages that she’s in.

Overall, “If the Shoe Fits” is a truly hilarious and imaginative story that takes the “Cinderella” mythos and twists it in a truly creative way! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up, since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

A few years ago, I had read a book called “The Fairy in the Kettle” by Pauline Tait, along with artwork by Debbie Bellaby. So, imagine my surprise when I found out that this book was turned into a series and I actually got my hands on the third book in the series “The Fairy in the Kettle gets Magical” and it was quite a cute read!
One day, Leona the Kettle Fairy was being awakened by one of the other fairies and it was then that she knew that something was wrong. When Leona met up with her friends and the elders, she finds out that the citizens of Fairy Glen were running out of fairy dust and they needed the fairy dust to maintain their powers. So, Leona and her friends decided to go out of Fairy Glen and find the fairy dust to restore the fairies’ powers.
Pauline Tait has done a great job at writing this book as it was both cute and interesting to read through! I liked the fact that this story is much more adventurous compared to the first book as the fairies have to go on a mission to save the fairies’ source of power. I also loved the great friendship that Leona has with her friends as they go on missions together and I love how supportive they are of each other! Debbie Bellaby’s artwork is adorable to look at as all the fairies look so cute and I loved the simplistic yet colorful look of the characters and the world that they live in.
The only problem that I had with this book was that the pacing was a bit slow at times and there was not a lot of action sequences in this book that would keep me interested.
Overall, “The Fairy in the Kettle gets Magical” is a great read for anyone who loves reading about fairies and magic in general! I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

I have been enjoying many of TaleBlade’s children’s books and I had just recently read their newest book “Don’t Drink the Pink” by B.C.R Fegan along with artwork by Lenny Wen and it was quite an amazing and emotional book to read!
Every year, Madeline’s grandfather would come and visit Madeline on her birthday and he would give her some special potions. However, Madeline’s grandfather would always tell Madeline to never drink the pink potion. Madeline would then start drinking the potions that her grandfather gave her, like drinking the red potion would make Madeline breathe fire or drinking the orange potion would make Madeline control the weather. But, when the time comes for Madeline to finally drink the pink potion, Madeline will soon discover the true magic of the pink potion that her grandfather gave her.
Wow! This was seriously one of the most unique children’s books that I had ever read! B.C.R Fegan did a fantastic job at writing this book as the narrative is told in rhymes and I loved the way that B.C.R Fegan involved both numbers and colors into the narrative. I also loved the fact that B.C.R Fegan made this story extremely emotional and heartwarming as it is about a young girl spending a lot of time with her grandfather and we get to see how close their relationship is with each other. I related so much with Madeline because she loves her grandfather and her grandfather loves her back and it reminded of all the times where I used to visit my grandparents. Lenny Wen’s artwork is adorable to look at as all the characters have rounded faces and eyes and I loved how colorful the images were as they captured the innocent and fun nature of this story.

Now, I had read a few children’s books that dealt with talking food and how they view human beings. However, “Snack Attack!” by Terry Border was an extremely unique case where we actually get to see how the food items fear the human beings due to them being eaten by them. “Snack Attack!” is definitely one book about food that children will definitely get a laugh out of!
The food items Cookie, Pretzel and Cheese Doodle had heard tales about Monster Kids who would come up and eat the food items for snacks. But these three food items decided to come out of their packages and play around in the kitchen. But unfortunately, the three food items stumbled upon a note from the Monster Kid’s mother that states that when her child comes back home, he or she can eat some of the snacks when they come home. It was then that Cookie, Pretzel and Cheese Doodle have to come up with a plan to save themselves from the Monster Kid.
Can the food items escape their gruesome fate?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! Terry Border’s writing and artwork was quite creative and hilarious to look at! I loved the way that Terry Border made the story both hilarious and intense at the same time as I was laughing along with the food items’ antics while being scared for their survival against the Monster Kid. I also loved the concept about what would happen if food items become sentient and we get to see from their perspective about how they feel about being eaten by human beings (which is terrifying)! Terry Border’s artwork was also highly creative as he uses realistic photographs of various food items and kitchen materials, while drawing some slight cartoonish expressions on the food items’ faces to give them some personalities.
Parents should know that there are some scary images in this book that might frighten smaller children. There are some images that portray what the monster kid would look like from the food items’ point of view and the Monster Kid is often drawn as a terrifying blue creature with a long tongue that slurps up the food items. Parents might want to read this book first before reading it to their children to see if this book would be okay for them.
Overall, “Snack Attack!” is a truly creative and entertaining book that children who love reading about food in general will definitely enjoy! I would recommend this book for children ages five and up since there are some scary images that might frighten small children.

I have been looking for some interesting children’s books to read for 2019. So, I went to NetGalley to seek out some children’s books and I found Marcus Pfister’s children’s book “Who Stole the Hazelnuts?” And man, was it such a hilarious read!
Everything in the forest was nice and quiet until a piercing scream is heard throughout the forest. The scream belongs to the squirrel and it turns out that his hazelnuts were stolen! So, the squirrel went around the forest trying to find the true culprit of this crime!
Will the squirrel find his hazelnuts?
Read this book to find out!
I have never read any of Marcus Pfister’s books before, especially the “Rainbow Fish” series (even though I have seen the TV series). So, this was the first book that I had read by him and I was pretty impressed by this book! Marcus Pfister has done an excellent job at both writing and illustrating this book as the story is both hilarious and mysterious at the same time. I was wondering throughout the whole book about who actually stole the squirrel’s hazelnuts and I was quite surprised by the ending! I also loved Marcus Pfister’s artwork as it is both gorgeous and hilarious to look at as the squirrel’s facial expressions are a bit exaggerated whenever he looks so surprised.
The only slight problem that I have with this book was that the squirrel started accusing his forest friends a little too easily. I would have thought that he would have given more thought to the situation instead of just accusing his friends without any evidence.
Overall, “Who Stole the Hazelnuts?” was a truly hilarious and mysterious book that children who love reading about mysteries with a hilarious twist will read over and over again! I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book, unless you find the squirrel’s accusations against the other animals a little troubling.
