This is one of those cute fantasy urban reads where you get to the end and sigh, satisfied with the overall cuteness. I liked the originality of it, tThis is one of those cute fantasy urban reads where you get to the end and sigh, satisfied with the overall cuteness. I liked the originality of it, too - she's uses mythology that I've literally never seen in any other fantasy book. And the two main characters are well fleshed out, and in many ways, an average Joe - they're utterly relatable.
Also, if you're looking for a good book with an asexual MC, this is your ticket. Angel handles that very well, too. ...more

(I binge read. I confess to this.) I wasn't sure what to make of the main two characters at first, I wasn't sure I liked either of them much for about six chapters. A lot of world building was happening. But in the end, I adore the whole cast. Both men are so wonderful complex and flawed and human that I connected well with them.
I wish to god KJ Charles would write more to this series. I feel like she could have some more wonderful adventures. I probably won't get my wish, though. ...more

It's not often that I find an M/M high fantasy that has good world building. I almost didn't try this one, as there were very few reviews for it on Amazon. I'm so glad I took the chance. It was lovely, how little internal angst there is between the characters. The main two MCs are just solidly good guys, I want to give them all the hugs. ALL THE HUGS. In fact, I loved the series so much I bought the paperbacks.
I haven't tried the author's other series with the Incubus but it is now on my TBR. ...more
