The images at the beginning (and end) of the chapters were adorable and sent reminders to me throughout the book which was so cute and unique! There were so many great tropes in this book, and it was long, so we really got to explore all of them, get the full angst, great character development, and great story progression without feeling rushed or having plot holes. I’ll definitely be reading more from this series! My biggest wish is more MM!! She alluded to some MM scenes, but I wanted more! To balance it out, we got a sweet FMC who is spoiled rotten by 4 vastly different MMCs who are all obsessed with her ...more

There was no cliffhanger, but I still need more into to tie up loose ends and I think we’ll get that as the series goes on. This was a fun, fast-paced, fast-burn book about Dom/sub dynamics and BDSM/kink exploration with Irish Mafia darkness. I loved the caring scenes with him washing and taking care of her to show his contradicting personalities.

This book blew me away. New book boyfriend alert. I LOVED the dynamics and character growth between the MCs in this book! The MMC was attentive, great at aftercare, a communicator, supportive, and interesting. The FMC was strong, vocal, a communicator, and interesting. I loved having both MCs being strong and interesting. The spice was SPICY, the plot was great, the side characters brought depth to the story… overall this book was so good, and I’ll definitely be adding more books from these authors to my TBR! I need more findom/spoiling books in my life- bring on all the billionaires! THE EXTENDED EPILOGUE!!!! That on it’s own is a 5 star read… I mean come ON. The only thing that could’ve made this better was to be first person POVs which is my personal preference for a romance

While this is a standalone series from the Transformation trilogy, there are some similarities in the characteristics of the MCs and I’m so excited to see where the story goes. This series is a slowburn but faster burn than the other series (thankfully!). This series is Wall Street/Mafia with moderately dark elements so please view trigger warnings. I love the BDSM elements in this book and the MCs “meet cute”. There is so much mystery that was introduced in book 1 and I can’t wait for the next book! I knew to expect a cliffhanger from Cassie for this series, but I still didn’t believe it!

Book 2 is full to the brim of angst and emotion. This book was somehow a slow read (not in a bad way!) because of the emotional content and a fast read because of the relationship building. The pacing felt right for this storyline and added to the instability and unreliability of Hunter. While the plot wasn’t driven forward too far, since it’s dual timeline and the “now” takes place over a short period of time, the connections between the characters (old and new) were a major plot. We get to see the different connections not only between the love interests, but parents/parental figures as well. A highly, highly emotional read with lots of triggers, lots of spicy content, and another huge cliffhanger. I’m anticipating the next read to see how this plays out… I know me and my buddy reading friends have our theories but I’m DYING for answers!!

I love a morally dark MMC who would burn the world for his FMC while being soft just for her. This was another huge twist and plot change from book 2 (just like book 2 was for book 1) that kept me guessing, nervous, and giddy. Persephone is a badass who gets to know herself all while fighting an internal battle and falling in love with Hades all over again. The side characters, once again, make this book amazing. I’m excited to read the novella of Mellie and Helios since it takes place during the same timeframe as The Queen & The King. A great wrap-up but I didn’t want their story to finish!

So much adventure and banter continued in this series into book 2. This book focuses a lot more on the adventure/war/world building aspects with the romance taking a backseat… but definitely still very prevalent in the story with many spicy scenes throughout. We get a lot more of Cerberus and Mellie in this book and I love the side characters just as much as I love the main characters.

I felt like I was missing some context and had to keep checking that this was book 1 of a series and not book 2. I wish we got Kira and Maxim’s story first so we could have their background since he seems to be the top guy, but I really enjoyed them as side characters. I look forward to seeing where the rest of the series goes with Nikolai- I think that will be a great book too.

The tension, suspense, and pacing were perfect. The characters, story, and spice were memorable.

I liked the MCs and the side characters, there was plenty of spice, and there was enough plot to keep me engaged in the story surrounding their love affair. Characters from the other Off-Limits stories make appearances in this book and it would be helpful to the story to know who they are and their background, however this can be read as a standalone without any plot holes. Note: The MCs engage in a Dom/sub relationship, but do not follow typical and safe BDSM practices like after care but, as with 99% of fiction, these shouldn’t be scripts to follow at home.

POV: multi 1st person POV (Briar, Rhys, Gavin, Hollis) spice: several open-door spicy scenes TWs: cheating, catnapping (LOL), left at the altar, divorce, parental abandonment, death of a sibling, chronic illness (cystic fibrosis), death of a parent standalone: book 4 in the My Hockey Romance series (interconnected standalones) final thoughts: one of the best things about a why choose romance is the FMC having different personality types in her MMCs. This book brings that front-and-center by having Briar use qualities and personality traits from all 3 leading men to write a column about what makes the perfect boyfriend. I laughed, I cried, I swooned- I loved every minute of this book and really loved each of the MCs. Brair was a great FMC- confident, friendly, driven, and a great friend Rhys is the lovable cheeky British boyfriend who has been unluckily in love and isn’t looking for romance, until he realizes he might have a shot with his friend and yoga teacher, Briar. Gavin is the broody boyfriend who isn’t sure where he fits in but is willing to learn as he goes and give some direction along the way. Hollis is the prefect golden retriever boyfriend who helps Briar lower her defenses and keeps her head leveled when she’s feeling overwhelmed. Combined, these guys show Briar what she deserves in a boyfriend all while woo-ing her and showing her that their happily ever after can last beyond the week.
