I found the book quite boring and overall, really disappointing. I love John Green but this book really wasn't as good as the others I read from him. I found the book quite boring and overall, really disappointing. I love John Green but this book really wasn't as good as the others I read from him.
None of the characters were even remotely likeable (maybe Radar but that's it) : Margo is a low-cost version of Alaska (in Looking for Alaska ) ; Quentin seems to think that Margo is his for some reason ; Ben didn't seem to care that his classmate completely disappeared and Lacey was just straight-up annoying.
The book appears to be so philosophical and deep but at the end it was nothing of the sort : the only thing that Quentin "discovered" was that The Margo Ruth Spielberg® is in fact a person, that she could be depressed or sad, and that her entire existence isn't just a big adventure or a performance made especially for him.
I did like how the book was intertwined with Song for Myself by Whitman but that seems to be the only thing that I loved unfortunately ...
