A twisted neighborhood drama, thick as a bird's nest with secrets, I had an absolute blast reading On a Quiet Street.

Nova Glass delivered a super-compelling, twisted narrative that dragged me in from the very start and never let go. I was so impressed with this!

The exclusive neighborhood of Brighton Hills may look tranquil, but behind the scenes it is anything but.

Cora thinks her husband Finn is cheating, Paige, after losing her son, is angry and combative, Georgia is afraid to leave her house; and these details just brush the surface of what is happening on this one quiet street.

Our narrative cycles through these three perspectives and fills in all the gaps as they're lives twist and blend together, ultimately leading to one shockingly intense conclusion!

Y'all that's all I really want to say about the details of this story. It behooves you to go into this one knowing as little as possible, with no preconceived notions of what is going to play out.

I've read from Seraphina Nova Glass before, her 2020-release Someone's Listening, and I really enjoyed it, but this book is next level.

I thought the pace of the reveals was absolutely perfect. There wasn't one single chapter where I wasn't learning some new facts that steadily progressed the plot.

I really enjoyed all of the characters as well. I found them to be relatable and realistic.

Sure, taken all together their drama may seem a little over the top, but when I really thought about it, the things they were experiencing are actually somewhat common, such as infidelity, grief and loss of identity.

I started to become attached to this trio of women. They weren't perfect, but when it really counted they formed a kind of alliance that to me was uplifting. They found strength through one another and I appreciated that journey.

I would definitely recommend this to Readers who enjoy a great, twisted neighborhood drama. This one definitely delivers that vibe 100%.

Thank you so much to the publisher, Graydon House, for providing me with a copy to read and review.

I had so much for with this one and am definitely looking forward to reading more from Seraphina Nova Glass!

Finally a psychological thriller that took my breath away! The characters were so interesting and appealing, the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and the emotions it stirred up are still lingering.

I loved the complex stories and the connection between the different POVS. The whodunnit was always there, but it wasn’t what impressed me most. It was just part of a brilliant thriller. I loved every page and didn’t want it to end. Will probably have a serious book-hangover after this!

Wow! One of the best domestic dramas I’ve read in a long time! Absolutely glued to the pages.

I’ve never been one to really socialize with my neighbors. (Perhaps I just live in the wrong neighborhood?)💁🏻‍♀️. But that doesn’t stop me me from wondering what they are all up to!

In the gated community of Brighton Hills, wealthy families feel they are protected from the outside world. But are they safe from each-other?

Paige has recently lost her son and is now separated from her husband. She is grieving and maybe a bit out of control. But no one really blames her. Though, it might be a good idea to stay out of her way. Then again, she is the one you want in your corner if you need help.

Cora feels unloved. By both her teenage daughter (well that’s natural) but also by her husband. Could he be cheating? He has always denied it, but this time Cora may take a closer look.

Georgia. The beautiful English wife of the local judge. She is always seen on her porch with her baby, but never ventures further. And avoids chatting with the neighbors at all costs!

Can these women trust each-other enough to tell their darkest secrets. Will they end up helping one another or create more damage that will tear the neighborhood apart.

The storyline unfolds from the perspective of all three women. Their voices were clear and distinct and I had no problem following along. I loved all three, and my heart broke for what each was going through.

⚠️Be prepared there are dark themes of abuse, gaslighting and infidelity (among other horrible behaviors).

Another addictive, character driven domestic thriller: Three neighbors who suffer from dysfunctional marriages.

Paige lost her son at hit&run, spying on neighbors who were probable person of interests related her son’s crime. She lives secluded life, cutting off all of her social life, leaving their family restaurant as her husband moves to a new apartment. But now she has another task to concentrate: she will seduce her neighbor’s husband to prove he’s a notorious cheat!

The neighbor Paige helps is Cora: sweet, domestic, curvy, noisy, mother of Mia who is about to leave for college. Several times she attacked to her husband for cheating of her. She even busted him at a bar when she only wears bathrobe, her face covered in aging cream. Not a nice disguise outfit to catch your husband in the act!

She needs a solid proof for showing her husband restricted the clause on their prenup agreement and Paige is here to help with her seductive skills!

And Georgia: a young woman with a baby, seems like suffering from emotional breakdown, having panic attacks to leave the house. The very same woman was carefree young girl traveled around the world, working at temporary jobs till she tied the knot with her older husband. Why she cannot leave her own house? She’s afraid of something or someone!

Three women’s dysfunctional marriage relationships collided each other with surprising twists, shocking infidelity moments.

The conclusion is relieving!

Overall: it was definitely great kind of domestic/ psychological thriller with slow burn pacing. Three flawed characters are so different from each and it is easy to empathize with each of them.

Well earned four mysterious, abuse, secretive, cheating, dark stars!

On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass
Narrated by Imogen Church

Brighton Hills is where wealthy residents can know they are sheltered from all the chaos and unruliness of the outside world. A gated community that looks out for each other. But behind closed doors everyone has secrets.

A year earlier Paige and Grant lost their son to a hit and run driver inside these gates. Cora has been told by her husband, Finn, that she's paranoid and crazy every time she thinks that she has caught him cheating. Lucas's wife, Georgia, mother to their baby girl, is a recluse who is getting even more reclusive. Maybe this community really isn't all that peaceful.

Paige has been going to extremes to determine who killed her son. The cops and entire neighborhood know her son's death has knocked her off her rocker. Cora is a charity event powerhouse, along with managing the household and acting as a taxi for her daughter's busy life. Georgia acts like a scared little mouse, never venturing out of her yard and avoiding contact with neighbors.

But these women are going to come together in ways they'd never expect. What seems chaotic and funny becomes chaotic and seriously scary. Some men aren't what they present to the world. But then, some women aren't what they present to the world, either.

Some very distressing things happen in this book and the story doesn't shy away from having you right in the thick of things. One shock after another and it seems there will be no way to make thing right. But then some things can't be made right, really. Still, someone has to come out on top. It's hard to talk about the story since so much is hidden until it's not. And even then, some things aren't as they appear. I was entranced by this car wreck of a story and was never sure how it would all fall out.

One evening, on a normally quiet street, a man is hit by a passing car, during the torrential downpour of a booming thunderstorm…

The hit and run accident was never solved, but a man and a woman DO know something about that night…they just aren’t telling.

A year later, Caleb’s mom Paige is still grieving and still very ANGRY!

She is determined to solve this crime, since the Police seem incapable of doing so-convinced that it was one of her neighbors. After all-who else would be entering or exiting the gated community, late at night?

So, she has begin spying on them.

She lets herself into their garages. She watches with binoculars. And, she takes photos with her new Nikon D850 camera purchased specifically for her new task.

Doing some surveillance of her own, is Paige’s friend and neighbor, Cora.

Purchasing a camera from Amazon, with features like night vision that pairs with her phone, she is not only trying to catch her husband cheating-but she is also suspicious of her neighbor, Lucas. Something seems off about him. And, she has become concerned about his reclusive wife, Georgia.

And, why does Georgia never go any further than her front porch? She didn’t even thank Cora for the baked goods she brought over to welcome her to the neighborhood. Nor, has she reciprocated in any way. Cora sure does miss her old neighbor…

Told from the POV’s of all three women, nothing is what it initially seems to be…

YES, we have gaslighting, cheating and abuse BUT instead of the women drowning their sorrows in alcohol they ban together to right some wrongs!

In fact, Paige reminds me a bit of FINLAY DONOVAN with her “no nonsense, get things done” approach to things! Maybe, not quite as funny but very resourceful!

The author’s 2020 offering, “”Someone’s listening” was just a 3 ⭐️ (meh) read for me, so, I hadn’t tried another one of her books until now-but many of my friend’s rave reviews convinced me to give her another try!

And, it’s hard for me to pass up a juicy neighborhood, domestic suspense story!

I am glad that I did-as this one was fun!

My first by this author and I did enjoy her writing style. The snark and added humor gave some reprieve from the darker themes of domestic abuse and infidelity.

Paige was someone I loved and hated at times. She doesn’t mind calling the newspaper boy a f-ing psychopath after he hits her doggie with a newspaper and then she blatantly ignores the doorbell when the police ring. She hopes they “rub up against the poison oak” on their way to her back patio where she is leisurely having her morning coffee.

This isn’t a “cozy” story, but the I enjoyed the fun little scenes the author included. I literally laughed at some of the situations Paige got herself caught up in! She is certainly on a mission playing MacGyver as she tries to solve a crime.

Secrets, red flaggy behavior, and serial cheating, are just some of the bad behaviors of the neighbors on this quiet street. With friends like these, who needs enemies?! Maybe someone will get some poetic justice?

HAPPY PUBLICATION DAY!

Certainly not a quiet street when you pull back the curtains…

Brighton Hills sounds like the perfect family community. Wonderful families, wonderful activities…a murder…and more behind the facade.

The story is told from 3 POVs. Cora is a housewife with a daughter, and she thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating on her. Paige’s son died the year before in a hit and run. She hasn’t been the same since, but finally feels herself coming back to life when she agrees to help Cora prove Finn is a cheater. Georgia is a relatively new neighbor, and also mother to a newborn. She seems a bit odd and reclusive. What’s her deal?

Each of these women have secrets. Can they come together to resolve issues? Or will things take a deadly turn?

This is a domestic suspense that gets better as it progresses. I was hooked from the beginning, but initially thought some actions seemed silly. Thank goodness I kept reading…since those “silly” parts mostly made sense later on.

There are definitely some humorous shenanigans as a result of outrageous behavior. What surprised me is that this isn’t just another typical neighborhood, gossipy, soap opera (even though I enjoy those books). Certain reveals in the plot get pretty dark, and I was hooked!

There were a few surprises I never suspected, and there were moments of tension and unease that literally had me talking back to the characters: “OMG, why did you DO that?!” I cared about the women, and Glass does a great job of getting them to grow on the reader.

Will everyone love this? No.
Are there better neighborhood suspense books? Yes.
Are there worse neighborhood suspense books? Hell yeah!
Is this entertaining, and does it have some unexpected depth mixed in? Yep!
Should I read it? If the above sounds good to you, then absofreakinlutely!

“Nothing ever happens in Brighton Hills.” Really?

An affluent gated community in Oregon, Brighton Hills is home to “beige and plastic”, where few people know what goes on behind closed doors. Behind the polished exteriors and manicured façade is a web of philandering husbands and scandalous affairs, recreational drugs domestic violence and many secrets. There is a lot that is happening in this quiet neighborhood and we are introduced to a few of the residents whose stories are central to the narrative.

Cora suspects her husband of infidelity but is unable to catch him in the act. Are her suspicions baseless as her husband often alleges or is her husband carrying one with other women behind her back? She enlists the help of a neighbor who specializes in snooping into the lives of others.
A year after her losing her 22-year-old son Caleb to a hit-and-run, Paige Moretti is still looking for answers. The guilty party was never identified but she suspects that people in her community know more than they are letting on. She firmly believes that her son was murdered and in her efforts to find the truth, spends time spying on her neighbors to uncover their secrets.
Georgia is a quiet one. She hardly ventures out of the house and is seen mostly in her home taking care of baby Avery. Her husband explains her behavior as agoraphobic on account of past trauma. But is there more to her situation than meets the eye?

The third-person narrative is shared from the perspectives of Paige, Cora and Georgia. As the story progresses we get to know more about their lives, their relationships and their struggles and secrets. The plot is sharp and the three main characters are very different and interesting enough to keep you engaged till the very end. The author does touch upon quite a few sensitive themes but balances the narrative with moments of humor. We might not always agree with the logic behind some of the decisions our characters make in pivotal moments, but it does make for an entertaining read. I enjoyed reading about all three of these women who end up supporting each other through all that goes on in each other’s lives. With its fast-paced narrative and a final reveal that I did not see coming, On a Quite Street by Seraphina Nova Glass is a twisty domestic thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. I switched between reading and the audio narration of this book. Imogen Church does a fantastic job of voicing these three very distinct characters. This was my first novel by this author and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

This is the third domestic suspense novel I've read by Glass and I continue to be impressed by her ability to craft a magnificent, twisty story.

It's a quiet street in an Oregon coastal neighborhood. Except for the fact that a year ago, Paige lost her son in a hit and run accident on their street and she is still mired deep in grief, so much so that her husband has moved out, even though he continues to come over and help around the house. Another neighbor, Cora, suspects that her husband is cheating, but she can't seem to catch him doing so. Georgia is the mother of a young baby, a transplant from England and married to a judge. The other women find her to be stand-offish, and they have heard that she has issues that make it difficult for her to leave the house.

What transpires between these women is surprising and twists abound as their stories come to light. We hear the perspectives of all three women, and this helps the reader to know some of the things they are holding private until they feel safe enough to reveal them to the others. I really appreciated getting some insider knowledge because it makes the story move quickly rather than getting stuck in secret-keeping mode.

There is some gaslighting (a lot of it actually), but for this story it does work because it just solidifies the horrible behavior of many of the characters. It's pretty straightforward (at least to the reader) what is happening, and the women don't stand for it any longer than they have to.

Another thing that surprised me about this book was the humor that was laced throughout. The women come up with schemes to catch those doing awful things and although at times I was rolling my eyes at their bumbling detective work, it served to balance out the other more serious moments.

This book has solidified Glass in my mind as an auto-buy author for twisty domestic suspense.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Seraphina Nova Glass creates an ultimate domestic drama that should be on everyone's list this year!! I was so excited to receive this one after seeing how high the reviews were. I encourage you to read the other reviews as well. The dynamics of this novel is to never covet what someone has because it just might be an illusion. The neighborhood of Brighton Hills is located on the Oregon coast behind a gated representation of the very wealthy. The houses set on well manicured lawns touching the lakes edge. Each home is exclusively, gorgeous, as well as the occupants of each home.

**Cora & Finn have one teenage daughter Mia. Their marriage is a roller coaster ready to jump track due to Finn's infidelity. She assumes he is cheating on her and goes to great lengths for evidence with the help of her neighborhood friend Paige.
** Paige & Grant have suffered the loss of their only son Caleb in a hit and run accident. As Paige pushes through her grief, she also eliminates Grant from her life against his wishes. She is a hoot and I enjoyed her stints of "bitchy" behavior with accuracy of her loss. Even the police give up on her epic personality stunts and complaint calls for her son's killer. She is a dynamic super sleuth that I would want on my side.
**Georgia & Lucas are the most reclusive with their one year old daughter Avery. So much can be said about this couple. Lucas's side of the story says she is afraid to live the house and encounters are only made from her front porch. There are cameras inside and out which soon gives way to a spiraling, abusive relationship.

When describing their secrets: "Some big, some little, some deadly. And one by one, they're about to be revealed...."

At times, I cringed at these three women's plights, but it gave way to what lengths you would go to acknowledge the truth and the turn of events to get to that point. Who is to say what dysfunctional homes exist in the neighborhood which look so perfect on a quiet street? Such an enjoyable adventure with unethical twists and turns. I also laughed aloud at their ridiculous schemes and personalities!!! LOL

This was another book where I was lucky to have both the audio and ebook. I have to say again that I LOVE being able to switch back and forth between the two.

I thought this was a terrific read! I've read one other novel by SNG and enjoyed it too. However, this story had me hooked from the start. I found it gripping and loved the many twists and turns.

On the surface, it might seem like the residents of Brighton Hills, an exclusive gated community, live On a Quiet Street, but look again, and there is a strong undercurrent of tension.

Several months ago, Paige’s son died in a hit-and-run, and the police have yet to find a suspect. In her grief, Paige has pushed away her husband and begun spying on her neighbours, desperate to find the person responsible for her son’s death.

Meanwhile, Cora is sure her husband is having an affair, even though he adamantly denies it. Cora elicits Paige’s sleuthing skills to try to catch her husband in the act.

Then there is the reclusive Georgia, who remains a mystery to everyone in the community.

This domestic suspense (dramedy?) is evenly paced and alternates perspectives between Paige, Cora, and Georgia.

On the first page, the narrator states that the people in this gated community are too beige and plastic to be of much interest, but that tension is brewing beneath the polished surface. While reading this domestic suspense, I tried to keep this in mind because the characters did not give a great first impression. Then the first reveal came along, and it completely changed everything and had me reframing everything up to that point.

These women have all the gall, wealth, and privilege that allows them to do what they want with sometimes ludicrous results. Yet, I was still rooting for each of them.

Except for one glaring issue, it was a refreshing change reading about these women’s friendship and the lengths they would go to in order to support each other.

CW: gaslighting, physical abuse.

EXCERPT: I can't imagine being inside my house all day. We live on the Oregon coast for the exact opposite reason, in fact. The Douglas fir and hemlock dwarf the neighbours and make the minimansions along the coast look like hobbit houses beneath their majestic canopy. The houses on our side of the road have woodsy back yards that slope slightly to meet the lakefront. Each long dock stretches out into the clear water and most have recreational boats attached for lazy weekend rides up to Dockland's country club on the other side of the lake a few miles down. Georgia's side of the street backs onto a forest of Douglas firs with a clearing, which holds a picnic table and a swing set passing for a small park. The air perpetually smells like moss-covered tree bark, sandalwood, and pine, and it's paradise, if you ask me, so how she could be afraid of all of this and not leave the house is baffling.

I wonder what the thing was - the trauma that happened to her.

ABOUT 'ON A QUIET STREET': The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide…

Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Cora thinks her husband, Finn, is cheating—she just needs to catch him in the act. That’s where Paige comes in. Paige lost her son to a hit-and-run last year, and she’s drowning in the kind of grief that makes people do reckless things. Like spying on the locals, searching for proof that her son’s death was no accident. And agreeing to Cora’s plan to reveal what kind of man Finn really is. All the while, their reclusive new neighbor, Georgia, is acting more strangely every day. But what could such a lovely young mother possibly be hiding?

When you really start to look beyond the airy open floor plans and marble counters, Brighton Hills is filled with secrets. Some big, some little, some deadly. And one by one, they’re about to be revealed…

MY THOUGHTS: This was a great read/listen, BUT there's more than one hole in the plot leaving me a little disgruntled.

It took a while to get involved in this story. Initially it seems very 'Real Housewives of Wherever', and I found it difficult to warm to or relate to the characters. But slowly the three women began to intrigue me, the story gained some depth, and from thereon in, it became an interesting game of cat and mouse. These women turned out to be surprisingly clever, innovative, and resourceful. Justice is served in an unexpected but deeply satisfying way.

The plot holes:

I always enjoy Imogen Church's narration, but the voice she uses for Cora is really irritating. This also impacted on my pleasure, but by the time I had finished listening I had become reasonably accustomed to it.

Overall an interesting and entertaining read, but one that could do with just a little more polishing.

I have a penchant for gossipy neighborhood stories and this was perfect for my preferences.

Three unique women, each with a different perspective kept my interest throughout.

Cora suspects her husband of cheating and her friend Paige agrees to help by acting as an amatuer private investigator.

Next door, beautiful Georgia should be happy, but she’s not. Still close to being a newlywed with a young baby and a successful husband, there is trouble in paradise. Paige suspects that all isn’t right but Georgia is slowly receding into her shell.

I really enjoyed this! If you like reading about capable female characters, then this book may be for you too.

Brighton Hills appears to be the perfect neighborhood. A gated community on the Oregon coast, it boasts stunning vistas and luxury homes. Even the neighbors are seemingly perfect. Helping each other out and keeping an eye on one another. But are some watching closer than they’d like?

Cora Holmon is positive her husband Finn is cheating on her and she just hasn’t found the proof yet. So when her neighbor and best friend, Paige Moretti, decides to try and trap Finn in order to finally provide Cora with that proof, she agrees.

Paige, who is separated from her husband Grant, has just lost her son, Caleb, to a hit-and-run in their own neighborhood the previous year. In all that time, the police have come no closer to catching the perpetrator. Between the loss and not knowing who killed her child, Paige has been dealing with an all-consuming grief that makes her perhaps do things she shouldn’t. Like spying on her neighbors, searching for Caleb’s killer, and hatching the plan to catch Finn.

Across the street, however, things are perhaps just as, if not more, imperfect. Georgia Kinney, a young mother to baby Avery, seems to never leave her house and avoids the neighbors. But Cora is determined to befriend her reclusive neighbor. As the days pass though, she notices that Georgia is acting more and more strangely. What could she be hiding?

What each of them share are the never ending secrets that bubble under the surface. Because despite the beautiful surroundings and picturesque views, Brighton Hills hides some ugly truths. As those secrets slowly start to reveal themselves, life will never be the same. Just how much damage will they do?

What a truly terrifying tale. On a Quiet Street is a complex tale of paranoia, desperation, and women helping women. One that held my attention from the very first page and kept it until the very last. With twists aplenty and told in a three-way point-of-view structure that alternates between the women at the center of this story, it was one heck of a shocking tale. Included in that was an ending where even when you think it’s over, it isn’t—as there’s just one more huge surprise waiting.

From the very beginning, each of the women (Paige, Cora, and Georgia) have secrets they’re determined to kept hidden and scores they’re trying to settle. Between Paige’s reckless desperation to find her son’s murderer to Cora‘s paranoia surrounding her certainty that her husband was unfaithful, they all displayed characteristics that were authentic and believable. But perhaps a tad extreme. And I found myself swinging from sympathy to shock to horror at their actions that made me dislike them. But, by the end, I supported each woman and was cheering them on.

Independent from the cheating and three-way love triangle, this story focused on harder themes: physical and mental abuse, gaslighting, and overwhelming grief. The world Georgia inhabited was particularly shocking, one that is all too possible and realistic (which alone is horrifying). But I don’t want to say too much on this and spoil the plot. The only aspect I could have done without was the excessive focus on cheating spouses (with their friend’s husbands no less). All said and done, I absolutely inhaled this book and cannot wait for Seraphina Nova Glass’s next book. Until then, I’m heading to read all of her backlist! Rating of 5 stars.

Trigger warning: hit-and-run death, loss of a child, physical and mental spousal abuse, controlling relationship, infidelity

Do you ever read a lot of books that you really enjoy but you just keep looking for the ONE that lets you lean back and sigh...."ahhh, now that was the one I was waiting for"? I felt just that way when I finished this novel, letting out a huge sigh of satisfaction.

This is about one of twenty books that I have recently read, but haven't had time to review. Yesterday I wrote that although I was only 60% into the novel, I was afraid that I would not remember to write about the emotions this book has stirred in me. So, in a preemptive strike, I brushed the mess off my desk and committed keyboard to screen before I let yet another one slip past me.

....OAQS is a character driven domestic thriller, told in the POV's of three women bound together by circumstances, in a small affluent neighborhood. One of the women, Micaela, aka Georgia, is trapped in a relationship where she is severely, emotionally, and physically abused. I don’t know why this came as a surprise to me only at about 20% into the book. All the signs were there, but subtle, until the shocking horror reared its head. Of course, her husband is a judge and wields influence in the community. No one would believe he was a cruel and sadistic predator. You can feel the terror in the punishing scenes depicted (double entendre intended).

Another woman, let’s call her Courageous Cora, is emotionally abused in a different way. She is a highly functioning and genuinely selfless contributing member in her community but is being gaslighted by her seemingly amiable husband. She suspects he is a lying cheat (she’s right) and she suspects that something is going on at the house across the street (right again!). She makes continuous efforts to befriend Georgia, showing up on her doorstep on several occasions. The latter is terrified by this as the house (which is her prison) is wired with video cameras monitored by her husband, Lucas, who does not allow her to have any interaction with family or friends.

The third member of the troika, Paige, is an embittered women whose son was killed a year earlier. She suspects and hates her neighbors, believing that one of them had something to do with the killing. Her husband is the opposite of abusive, but rather collateral damage in the complicated relationship that has developed between the couple since their son’s tragic death the year before.

This book swept me in, reminding me a little of a Shari Lapena novel but with none of her dark humor except, perhaps, in Courageous Cora’s reflection on her marriage to a sleazy husband of circa twenty years and the actions she takes once she finally gets the goods on him. She would have left him long ago but for the prenup that she signed before they married…(chin up, help is on the way). There is also some dark humor in the character and crazy antics of Paige, as she spies on and sabotages the property of neighbors whom she suspects were responsible for her son Caleb’s death. But, for the most part, I found this book more chilling than a Lapena novel, and there were numerous sections where I held my breath, and my heart pounded, praying for delivery (sometimes it came and sometimes it didn’t).

This was a solid five starts for me…there was even a very short, satisfying epilogue providing closure for those who cannot do without. I listened to the audio on Hoopla (available add on to some library subscriptions). When I heard Imogen Church begin the narration I was immediately transported!

On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass is a novel of domestic suspense or one that I think of as a popcorn drama, so much going on you just want to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and watch it unfold. The story in On a Quiet Street is one that is told with multiple points of view between the key characters.

Brighton Hills is a beautiful gated community on the Oregon coast. Paige, Cora and Georgia all live behind those protected gates and all have secrets and lies they would want uncovered.

Paige has just lost her teenage son to what the police have called an accident but Paige knows better. Cora is at constant odds with her teenage daughter and believes her husband may be cheating. And that brings us to Georgia, the new neighbor who seems very antisocial only spending all her time with her young child.

On a Quiet Street by Seraphina Nova Glass is one of those books that once I picked it up I just didn’t want to put it down. The characters in this one certainly stood out on their own as the point of view changed and it was hard to pick a favorite storyline that I wanted to pick back up with as all points of view were engaging and kept the pages turning. This one definitely had me wanting some popcorn as I mentioned and I thoroughly enjoyed all the twists and turns that brought me to the end.

4+ stars!

A neighbourhood filled with secrets.

There are plenty of novels revolving around neighbourhood secrets, lies and drama. I found this story explored a fresh and captivating plot with unique and fascinating characters and relationships. I connected as soon as I started listening and my interest never wavered. This is an Edelweiss backlist title that I’m regretting not getting to sooner.

The characters snarky inner thoughts had me giggling and wanting more. There is a constant hum of underlying tension that kept me curious and invested throughout. The author offered just enough of the character side stories to become invested but didn’t add an abundance of detail to overshadow the main plot.

There are some heavy and uncomfortable topics covered within these pages, including domestic abuse, human trafficking and drug addiction.

Toward the end, as with many domestic drama/thrillers, there were some unbelievable aspects but nothing that took away from my connection to the story.

Overall, a fresh storyline that kept me engrossed from start to finish.

Audio narration rating : 5 stars! The narrators did a phenomenal job with this story and added even more enjoyment to the storyline! Highly recommend the audio!

Thank you to the publisher for my digital review copy! Thank you to my lovely local library for the audio loan!

On a Quiet Street gave me the best kind of thrill, that unexpected thrill!! I was expecting little when I started this one, and I thought I would be throwing in the towel after a few chapters. The story begins with what seems like stereotyped characters and overused, harmful tropes for crazy wives and hysterical women. However, Seraphina Nova Glass takes me by surprise, and the women of Brighton Hill are strong, intelligent, determined women ready to take on their own conflicts and help and support each other.

The Characters

The story explores some dark themes while exploring the friendship between the women who live in Brighton Hill. The heart of the story is the support they have for each other.

Paige is still mourning the loss of her son, Caleb, in a hit-and-run. She is convinced someone in the neighborhood murdered him. She is angry and lashes out at everyone and everything. She is determined to keep calm and find out who is responsible for Caleb's death.

Cara seems like that wealthy perfect wife and mother who is prone to cause scenes while suspecting her husband Finn is having an affair. This time she will prove he is and enlists Paige's help.

Georgia never leaves her home, and her husband paints her as having agoraphobia. Cara becomes suspicious and is determined to discover what is happening behind their closed doors.

Is it a page-turner with exciting twists, turns and reveals?

YES!!

Secrets, lies, stalking, and more. The exclusive community of Brighton Hills is awfully quiet, considering all that's going on inside the homes. If I were to narrow down this story to one word, it would be: intense .

This is my second book by Seraphina Nova Glass, and she's once again impressed me with the intricate web of lies and issues she could weave within one story. I read Such A Good Wife last year, and was happy to see she had a new release this year. Similar to the previous book, the tension and suspense are definitely palpable throughout this story.

4.5 rounded up

From the outside, Brighton Hills looks like a beautiful community along the Oregon coast. It’s a place that looks friendly and the people living there seem so happy. But open up the doors and behind them you’ll find all kinds of crazy. Cora is married to Finn who she believes is definitely cheating on her but he’s making it seem like it’s her obsessive imagination. Paige and Grant lost their son Caleb a year ago when he was killed in what the police described as a hit-and-run accident. But Paige is consumed with loss and the belief that he was killed by one of the residents and it was intentional. She spends almost every waking hour spying on her neighbors, determined to find the person responsible. And then there’s Georgia who never strays far from her house, caring for her infant daughter Avery and married to her overly protective, much older husband Lucas.

It might sound like all kinds of crazy but it’s incredibly controlled chaos. The narratives are provided by Cora, Paige and Georgia who all have compelling points of view. I changed my opinion of these women so many times that I gave up and just let them take me on the ride of their choice in the moment. There seemed to be one surprise after another, some small and subtle, others with more seismic impact. There’s nothing predictable about these people and the challenge is to identify who around them may be lying or hiding something.

Even though it took me a moment to connect with the story as I felt like I was dumped in the middle of their lives at the start, it didn’t take long for me to be utterly hooked. I wisely listened to the book because the talented Imogen Church narrated, delivering a performance that made me think there were at least three others helping out. She was amazing and made crazy sound almost normal. It was akin to a roller coaster ride in that I really couldn’t predict the next turns. This was an intriguing and fascinating listening experience, one I wholeheartedly recommend. No way am I even offering up a clue as to how it ends!

I had this one just chilling on my kindle for quite a while and I'm a little mad at myself for waiting so long to read it.

Featuring ~ multiple POV, cheating, domestic abuse, gaslighting

This one starts off with a heartbreaking, yet intriguing, prologue when someone is killed.

I love when my books are told in multiple POV's and this one follows Paige, Cora and Georgia who all live in the same ritzy neighborhood in Oregon.

Paige is having a tough time after her son, Caleb, is killed. It's been ruled an accident, but she's convinced it was murder and she's suspecting everyone in their gated community. She's quite the sneaky one.

Cora suspects her husband of 22 years, Finn, of cheating. Paige offers to help her see if it's true. Cora is, also, somewhat obsessed with trying to hang out with Georgia.

Georgia met Lucas while he was visiting his parents abroad. They quickly fell in love, married and she moved to the states with him. She suffered a traumatic experience and only goes as far as her front porch with her baby, Avery, which is becoming suspicious to her neighbors.

These 3 ladies eventually create a bond and work together to bring justice for a couple different scenarios. There were some exciting twists I didn't see coming.

Most of the characters were likable, except the ones we obviously weren't supposed to like. My favorite was Grant.

This was a well executed gripping domestic suspense thriller. I haven't read this author before, but I would be thrilled to read her work again.

(3.5 stars). Well for starters, I think the author needs to change the title of this book because this street was anything but quiet. Lol! My anxiety would get so bad, I had to keep taking breaks while reading this book. 😬

I really liked how this book started off, and I started off liking most of the characters. As the story progressed, I found most of the characters to be very unlikable or flawed in some way (aren’t we all though?). Cora was the only character who remained consistent throughout this story, and she is the only one who I kept rooting for.

This book has tension (lots of it), suspense, mystery, crime, adultery, domestic violence, and lots of nosy neighbors… I can’t say that there was a dull moment in this book. The ending had a twist that didn’t really surprise me, but it was still decent.

This was a new author for me, and I do plan on reading more from her. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a fast, entertaining, suspenseful read. Happy New Year my friends, and Happy Reading to you! 🎊💗

4 Stars

I really loved this 4 Star overall domestic thriller.

SUMMARY
Three women who live on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood in coastal Oregon each have their own issues.

Cora and her husband have been struggling for the last several years because she is always convinced he is cheating on her. He is tired of the accusations and she is tired of not being sure if she can trust him.

Georgia, a British transplant, has been unable to leave her house since experiencing a traumatic event. Now she cannot venture out past aside from visiting their mailbox or a small park directly behind their house. She rarely speaks to anyone other than her husband and baby.

Paige’s 23 year old son was killed in a hit and run accident in their neighborhood a year ago and she cannot move in. She and her husband Grant are now separated and she spends her days spying on all the neighbors trying to figure out who did it.

When Cora finally decides to get serious about figuring out whether her or not her husband has been cheating on her, Paige agrees to help her. In this investigation, Paige learns more about Cora’s husband and about her mysterious no neighbor Georgia. It turns out a lot is going on behind closed doors in this seemingly safe, beautiful neighborhood.

WHAT I LOVED
I really loved the plot. Nothing was what as I expected. Initially, I thought it was going to be one kind of book but it turned out to be something very different.

I liked the characters. I love the women helping each other out. It was more than just a domestic thriller come out a lot was going on behind the scenes.

The plot moved quickly. I couldn’t stop reading. I went through the book very quickly.

WHAT I DIDN’T LOVE
There wasn’t a lot I didn’t love, but it seems like there was a fairly obvious answer for one of the problems yet one of the characters just didn’t seem to think of it. I don’t want to say anything else because it would give too much away.

OVERALL
This is a very readable book. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good domestic thriller.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok, Seraphina Nova Glass, I see you! This was quite the page turner. And the opening scene? HA. I loved Paige from the start. At first, I started to wonder if this story was just about neighbor's having affairs but NO, the plot takes a left turn and is SO much more, I was hooked!

The storyline unfolds from the perspective of three neighbors, Cora, Paige and Georgia. Everything is not as as it seems on this quiet little street. Multiple story lines come together with twists I did not see coming. This is one of the best domestic dramas I’ve read in a while! Fast paced and full of surprises.

I’m looking forward to reading more by this author. Definitely an author to watch!

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, YAY my first approval, and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!
