Aaron thinks he can have anything—or anyone—he wants, including me. But when I discovered I was the other woman, I vowed never to see him again.
Except he’s not the only one with a secret. When a chance meeting brings us together again, I can no longer hide the truth.
Now he wants what’s his—our six-year-old twins. And he insists I’m part of the deal. If I don’t marry him, I’ll be forced to give up my children.
I’ll do whatever it takes for the twins, only I’m not the innocent girl I once was, and there’s no way I’m giving him a second chance.
But when someone dangerous from my past comes looking for me, I start to see a new side to Aaron that makes me question what’s beneath his need for control.
Now the man I vowed never to trust may be the only person who can protect me . . .
Aaron’s Patience is book 1 in the Townsends of Williamsport series but is a standalone. The book contains graphic language, violence, discussion of assault and mental illness, and very steamy love scenes. Happily ever after is guaranteed in this BWWM romance.
Our hero is an big ogre and treats our heroine very badly. He is possessive and domineering, but not in a good way. He is much older and more experienced than she is. She was enchanted by him and was easily seduced. He is a great SOB who has a fiancée while courting the heroine and taking her virginity. The fiancée catches them both and the heroine discovers that she is the other woman. And the cheater discards our heroine and gives no explanation. She gets pregnant and tries to communicate with him, but OW interferes and offers money for an abortion on behalf of the hero. Our heroine moves out of town and has twins alone. She abandons everything and rebuilds her life. Six years go by and they meet by chance at a sex club. He has already chosen two women to have sex with when he sees our heroine. The two fuck and then he leaves her again. They only meet again because her father has a heart attack and both are partners in some business. Then the dramalhama begins. He discovers the children and threatens her with full custody and forces her to marry him or lose the children. In addition to having aggressive behavior and treating the heroine like shit the hero sees and communicates with a woman's spirit and the icing on the cake is our heroine having a stalker threatening her. I did not like the heroes, but I read until the end because I would like some answers that never came. Read at your own risk.
Someone reccd this book to me claiming that the H was deliciously J/P, the kids were adorable, the h wasn't a doormat and most importantly the reason for the breakup was as a result of others..... Well they were right, the kids were adorable...... That's it. That person has been blocked
Now here we go
This book goes from present to past at times for us to understand what came before. Aaron and his family do business with Patience's father and they meet at a dinner when she's a teen. She crushes on him but he regards her as a child. Some years later they meet again and hang out for months until things get physical. Patience is in love and confesses to him.....unfortunately his fiancee tracks her down the same day and storm in on them together. He breaks up with her. When Patience finds out she's *pregnant she informs Aaron who sends money for an abortion. Patience moves on with her life, until 5 years later she enters a sex club with her friend and finds Aaron there. Shortly after the truths of their past is exposed and Aaron refuses to let his family go.
*********** So very very very much to unpack here but I'll stick to my biggest issues
1)Sis tell me how do you have sex with a man who you believe not only had you as his side piece..... *But also sent you money for an abortion when you informed him you were pregnant? I was so utterly disgusted by her meeting this man (at a sex club no less) and just going vagina open to him! Bit*h if you don't sit your stupid ass down! strong h??!! Where??? (*now we later learn this wasn't true but at their first meeting SHE believed it was)
2)The H was at a sex club about to have sex with two OW when she walked in btw
3)I dig J/P males, I love the one step up from a caveman type of heroes and this H had lots of jealous moments but he was a domineering, stubborn, mean SOB who had a conveniently sad back story to explain away his meanness. He should've had to beg her forgiveness!!! Instead he acted like she deliberately kept the kids away from him!!!!!!!! I was so angry at his attitude and behavior so many times throughout this book!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr
4)It turns out the OW was the one who replied to the h about the abortion yet at no time during this we see the h get some justice and compassion from this asshole, not even gratitude that she worked her ass off and provided for their kids. Instead he threatens and bullies her into marrying him
5)WTF was up with the fiancee thing? His explanation was that "she wasn't you" and other words to that effect. What does that even mean!??? Was he sleeping with the OW and the h 5 years ago???? He claimed the engagement was because of business but he didn't say he wasn't actually with the OW!!! When I tell you I strongly disliked this arrogant bastard (not Keaton levels of hate though)
6)The h of course had one sexual partner in the years in between, one measly shitty sexual encounter in almost 6 years but asshole was in a sex club about to have a threesome! F*ck this tired and disgusting trope!
7)To add insult to injury a paranormal aspect is introduced as the H sees and communicates with the spirit of a dead woman? Like huh?? She offers wisdom and insight and is able to transport him through time like the ghost of Christmas past. 😂😂😂 I lmao at this tbh.
8)As if that wasn't enough drama the h has a stalker who eventually kidnaps her.....sheesh
9)This H had a bad temper, was irrational, disrespectful, domineering, rude and borderline abusive......
10)What is up with this family? Are they mafia or something?
I made it to the end and there's a devil on my shoulder trying to prod me to see if his brothers are as bad as he is but not today Satan, not today!
1.5* for the kids, some chocolate in the romance, and the one or two times I liked the H's jealousy
H/h were together for months when she was 23, his fiancee found them and he broke it off Almost 6 years later she's a single mom of twins and goes to a sex club where she meets him and they have sex. He disappears after Shortly after her dad got ill so they reconnect and he finds out the truth and forces her to marry him No others after that OW is dealt with
I should have DNF’d but I pushed through to the end.
1. First nope = surprise BDSM 2. Second nope = ridiculously cruel jealous/possessive hero 3. Third nope = ridiculous hero has a freaking fairy godmother 4. Fourth nope = a mob connection that goes no where 5. Fifth nope = a stalker 6. Sixth nope = let’s borrow from Jamie Begleys Last Rider... how to torture, kill and get rid of the body 7. Seventh nope = he’s a good man!??
Let’s count the tropes
1. He was engaged, business arrangement, when they were originally involved—cheating 2. The fiancée offers the heroine money to abort babies, says it’s per the hero—secret babies 3. First sex scene is in a sex club—BDSM 4. If she won’t marry him, he’ll seek full custody of their children—blackmail 5. Tracks down ex-fiancée, mobster’s daughter, and has her tortured—mafia 6. He was abused by his birth father—daddy issues 7. Her father was into all sorts of illegal activities, and he’s dies half way through the book—abandonment issues 8. He and his son have dyslexia, which leads to bullying—bullying 9. Children can see the fairy lights around him (proof he’s a good man—PNR 10. I really need to stop trying books rec’d in Help Name That Book!
This is the absolute worst book I think I have ever read! I didn’t DNF only bc it became so incredibly ridiculous and outrageous it became mildly entertaining. The total abusive pos mmc sees ghosts and that’s how he solves a crime and his wife fmc just can’t resist him after he continually abuses and manipulates her. Bonus, the writing is atrocious as is the grammar.
Aaron was a gruff over-the-top caveman/neanderthal and I would have clubbed him! There is a plot device that I'm not sure I'm sold on—I need to think about it before I write a longer review.
I liked Patience and Lord knows she had to have plenty of it to deal with Aaron. I love that the brothers all live in or will live in the same sub-division.
It sounds like Joshua's story will be next. I look forward to reading his story as well as his brother Tyler.
NOTE: Aaron is the CEO of Townsend Industries and cousin of Carter, Joshua and Tyler but raised as their brother after he was adopted by his father's brother, Robert Townsend.
I found this book to be incredibly frustrating. Aaron was so controlling and barely listened to Patience that I truly did not see a connection. He bullied her into doing what he wanted, and she just let him for the most part. The longer it went on the more annoying it became and made both characters very unlikable.
I also didn't understand the weirdly added paranormal aspect, it just felt out of place for this storyline.
It just wasn’t good all the way around. It wasn’t poorly written, you could tell the author was a good writer but the storyline was bad, the characters, etc.
The male mc was the worst. He wasn’t an alpha in a good way, he was a shit show. He clearly didn’t care about the female mc but kept screaming he did but it just read like a forced relationship with a control freak and a push over.
Like I said the writing wasn’t terrible but there was times it was questionable. There was a prologue yet the time kept jumping back to that time to explain whatever the author was trying to tie in at that moment. Like.. if there’s a prologue, everything from the past should be in that. We should not have to flip back in time 52 times. The author also failed to properly label when they were back in current time which was confusing.
In addition to this they decided to add this random pointless (and stupid) “supernatural” twist to it. Why was I suddenly reading about a man with the ghost of Christmas past / fairy god mother haunting him????? None of that should’ve been included. Oh, and the smut was super cringe.
I just finished reading this book. This story was like a breath of fresh air. I loved that there is a Who did it!! I can normally guess but I missed the mark this time. Aaron is a crazy Alpha, no one is allowed to touch or look at her with lust! He had me screaming 🤣🤣🤣 when he told that lawyer he will cut off his hand and feed him his fingers. Story is awesome sex scenes are HAWT! Can't wait to read the rest of the brothers stories particularly Joshua's!

Tiffany did her thing with this story. It was excellently written with lots of action, drama, suspense, and mystery. She hinted and teased the reader with just enough info and changed the plot to another scene with a build-up to another reveal. I loved this story.
Patience Thier always felt as though she did not belong anywhere, only feeling solace in reading books. Her father Gary Thier, could not bring himself to be a proper father to his daughter, as he felt that her birth was what took the love of his life away from him. To make things worse, Patience looked exactly like her mother being a daily reminder of her mother to him. When she met Aaron Townsend at a family dinner when she was only fourteen, her soul knew he was for her even though her brain could not understand that. Aaron fell for her then too. It was years later after her graduation that they consummated their relationship, only for Patience's heart to be broken by what Aaron was hiding.
Aaron also had a lot of hurt from his childhood he had to work through. His spirit guide helped him to widen his perspective. He was a beast in and out of the boardroom and bedroom. Those sex scenes were off-the-chain erotic. In his heart of hearts, Patience and the twins were his lifeline. They were his roadmap for having a loving and supportive family and for him to be a good man, unlike his birth father Jason Townsend, Robert's brother. Both Patience and Aaron learned how to grow in their love for one another, even though she felt forced to marry him. They became each other's compass. She was Aaron's Patience. She was his and he was hers. Always had been. Always will be.
Man oh, man! These Townsend men are just the bomb... Aaron, was...well no word could be better than "da#n" to describe him... I am not usually into any BDSM, but a light one is the best balance and these two, Aaron and Patience was so balanced out that it was surreal. To top it off, There was a little bit surreal happening in this book more than the other story that came out for these man. Nothing negative could be said except that Aaron was truly borderline diagnosed as being obsessed for Patience yet one could also said the same thing regarding Patience. But to be honest, I can't wait to see how MS. Patterson will spin Joshua and Tyler's story because Aaron is every lady's fantasy: alpha + alpha + badass = the best type of man to swoon over. Perfect, MS. Patterson! Just perfect
DNF. I borrowed this book sometime in the past I don't know when , but when I downloaded it took me to my last location. And I suddenly remembered why I DNF'D. There are so many problems with this book, this being an inter-ethnic story was chief among them. I am not say there's anything wrong with inter-ethnic relationships because I'm not. But, a black family trying to broker power was a statement in itself and the author , in my opinion, didn't do enough in this book to express the rarity of such an action. All that aside I didn't like the characters at all. Aaron was an ass and Patience was a doormat.
OMG! Tiffany Patterson knows what she is doing and doesn’t miss a beat. This book was everything. Everybody who likes the genre needs to read her work. She has created the right amount of everything. Aron has really a golden heart and Patience is a sweetheart. They are the perfect match. I am really starting to like TP books and I can’t wait for her new book.
Aaron is basically a controlling, aggressive bully. Being an alpha doesn’t mean everyone cowers with fear every time you’re around and must placate his temper tantrums. And the problems around Aaron are caused by him and his nasty attitude. I don’t know any black woman like patience.. whose been through what she has been through that just rolls over and appeases a white dude like that. One minute she is angry with him then all he has to do is look at her then she is turned on and all is forgotten? The whole cuffing her to the bed sex scene was horrendous and mind boggling. The sex scenes would have been so much better if he wasn’t just grabbing her and doing what she wanted and she just going along with it because it “felt good”. Patience never shows any normal responses to someone whose boundaries are constantly being pushed or stepped on. There is nothing sexy about a man who spends every waking hour playing cave man trying to possess you. That would be exhausting and frustrating. Everyone a man greets her or even stands next to her he would get angry, starts threatening to kill be and us generally unpleasant…. So how is she supposed to navigate life when half the population is male and she will come into contact with men? . The dynamics between the two were just weird and uncomfortable. His a brute who needs a mental health evaluation because his narcissistic tendencies are quite strong.
Tiffany, Girl you did your thing with this book, than you did it again. Aaron and Patience are a phenomenal couple. Tiffany, you did a fantastic job on revealing who Patience stalker was, and how a kind word can be misconstrue into something it's totally not. How a love can be one sided, until it's revealed. I love the fact that Kyle inherited, his father's gift. I also love the fact that Aaron's brothers Joshua, Tyler and Carter were with him, when he had to deal with the threat to his family! Each man in the family is willing to protect each other, and their family members no matter what the case may be. I'm totally looking forward to the next brother book in this series.
I read this after reading about one their sons, so so good.
I definitely like how the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, comes to their women and how they get their family.
I would highly recommend this, and I definitely want to get the physical copy, because I love their dynamic as a couple and the side of the H. He was such an alpha but very loving towards family and you saw that a lot and I love that!
When people ask “what’s the worst book you’ve ever read?” This is what I show them. I hate the characters, especially the mmc. And why on earth are we suddenly speaking with ghost AND the ghost literally transported the man through memories. This is false advertisement at its finest cuz I thought it was a second change romance with surprise pregnancy not a horror story.
I am currently reading.. and if I had known this book had the MMC talking to freaking spirits... I would have RANNNNNN to read this forever ago lol
The story doesn't really flow around that aspect too much so far.. its basically sprinkled in barely.. but its amazing...
this is such a great story so far... the guy is defn not a golden retriever lol OTT but i mean.. going into a story like this you gotta figure that will be the case.
Now, this book has an average rating of 4,5... Must mean it's amazing, right? Ha ha ha
Well, guess what. It all starts out with a non-consensual kiss. Then another one and another one. The heroine acts submissively but she slaps the Hero after he kissed her and struggles against him. Suffice to say, I am NOT a Fan of this freaking Hero!!
Not that the heroine is any better... Cause then they have sex - I guess that's what you do when you haven't seen each other in five years and when you have his TWO Kids at home whom you told their dad had died. #fu very much lady
Oh yeah, btw, they had UNPROTECTED sex. Cause again, not like anything happened between them in the past after which she has to raise twins on her own.
And of course she couldn't tell him that they have twins together during intercourse OR after cause she fell asleep (as it conveniently happened) and he freaking left!
I can't with this dumb and naive heroine and this Hero who doesn't seem to care about other people's feelings.
Don't even care what kind of miscommunication they had so that they split. Must have been a major one. Plus, as he works for his dad's multimillion company, I am pretty sure she would have had millions of opportunities to contact him...
