Wedding hookups never amount to anything.

Those who partake in this wicked little activity know the rules. Get in. Get laid. Get out. There's no expectation of a relationship. It is what it is.

Dylan Sparks knows the rules. She’s familiar with the protocol. And she engages in the best sex of her life with a complete stranger at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding.

Reese Carroll doesn’t care about the rules. He wants more than just one night with Dylan.

And Dylan finds him too addicting to pass up.

Sweet Addiction is the story of one woman’s struggle to keep things casual, and one man’s desire to never let her go.

Warning: This book contains adult themes. 18+ only.

Reese--5 Stars!
The Banter--5 Stars!
The Steam--5 Stars!
Dylan--4 Stars!
The Angst/Drama/Conflict--3 Stars!!

Honestly, up until the 85% mark and the conflict I would have given this book 5 Stars! It was funny, it was fun and it was SMOKING HOT!

But the conflict killed it for me. So I had to give a star deduction for that. Me no likey miscommunication, making assumptions, not having a conversation.

However, I loved the rest of the book. All of the characters were fantastic and I was literally LMAO most of the book.

Dylan is attending her ex-boyfriends wedding. No not as a guest, she made the wedding cake (which I personally would have poisoned). While making her way to her seat she falls in the lap of Reese. Only to end up later having slutty wedding sex with him in the bathroom.

They start a monogamously casual relationship...and so the story goes.

Let's face it....both Resse and Dylan are in

Pretending it's casual when we all know otherwise. Reese makes it pretty clear that he's willing to go for more but goes along with what Dylan wants. Why she's adamant about it being casual is beyond me.

The sexual chemistry between these two...

But with two people in denial comes silly drama leading up to an even sillier conflict. There was some jealousy, insecurities, crazy exes....most everything was resolved rather quickly.

But then when it came to the conflict--the big misccomunication, the big misunderstanding--ugh, it just made me mad.

BUT, with that being said, it wasn't enough to ruin the book for me or not want to recommend it to others. And like I said, aside from that I would have given this one 5 stars. So...

It's perfect if you're looking for something light, fluffy, funny with a high steam factor! Just be prepared for the drama going in! :)

Also, this is listed as Sweet Addiction #1 and there will be a second book concluding Reese and Dylan's story. HOWEVER, I feel like this one COULD BE read as a standalone. And depending on the blurb for the next book, I may or may not read it. I don't want another book of more drama created between the MCs. But I would definitely read other books about other characters....personally I think Joey and Billy need a book. Just saying!

FOUR TELL ME YOU LOVE ME STARS.

"you've competley captivated me. My heart, my soul, my entire being."

description

This author has made it so easy for me to fall in love with this novel. Jessica Daniels has written a deliciously naughty romance novel with plenty of 'giggle at your kindle' moments to make it a story that is not only swoony, but comical and sexy too. I did not want to put this book down, it was so addictive everything from the undiluted raunchy action, to the friendships and love action had me hooked. I adore it when I read a book and then instantly want to read other books by the same author. This debut novelist has made it in my 'must have all future books instantly purchased by this talented writer' list and thankfully I think I may have just found a brand new, smutty book best friend by the name of Jessica Daniels. I can't wait for other readers to fall in love with this insanely hot but sweet novel and I'm already ready to read more.

Nothing appeals to my reading time than a book that is an all-rounder, one that has the romance but with added bonus bits such as; funny, sexy and plenty of storyline. Jessica Daniels has effortlessly (or so it seems) created a storyline that didn't force itself to be something that other writers have achieved, instead I felt instantly at home with this authors own style and story. I doubt that you will be able to read this book without falling in love with at least one if not all of the characters, creating characters and using her imagination must be this authors forte. Who knew a corporate accountant could be so demanding and outright gorgeous. Reese Carroll will have most readers grinning at their kindles like a loon, his dirty talking and equally romantic side had me blushing and drooling. Thankfully this book also delivers a likeable heroine, Dylan Sparks this lucky lady is a complete fire cracker and yes at times drama followed her like a spot light but for me it just made the story telling more fun. Gorgeously witty and at times insecure I really liked her inner dialogue and funny traits. Luckily for this novel we even get a fabulous gay best friend and girly side kick that are fantastic additions to the story telling as secondary characters. What hit home mostly for me was winning combination of friendship and like-ability of all the relationships that are developed in this book and as for readers who have a sweet tooth you'll be desperate for a cupcake (or maybe five) after getting to the end of this loveable story. The novel is told from first person single point of view and even though it was amusing to hear the inner dialogue of the heroine I would have loved to have had more of Reese's inner thoughts and motives, however I think that the author played the conversations and developing story well. All in all this book captivated me almost right the way through with plenty of smut and laughter along the way and I can't wait to see what this author will do next.

Why not five?
This book was lining up to be a full out-I-can't-help-but-fall-head-over-heels-for-this-book stars book but unfortunately the unnecessary drama towards the end of the story took over and stole some of the enjoyment factor right from under my nose. That's not to say that I didn't adore this book I just needed less arguing and more communication between the hero and heroine. I also would have preferred if this book was a standalone novel, instead it has been struck with the happily for now label. Authors very rarely hold my attention with a series that continues with the same couple but that is it be discovered. Overall I think you can guess from the rest of my review that I was won over by this author and her gorgeous novel but sadly I couldn't hand out the full five stars.

description

Final thoughts ...
'Sweet addiction' is accurately titled for my thoughts towards the book, I felt completely addicted by it's sweet theme and quite honestly I didn't want it to end. Perfect for my reading tastes I instantly knew after just a few pages that this book was a winning combination. Bravo Jessica Daniels or should I say thank you, I love books just like yours and I'll be thinking about your characters, cupcakes and frosting for a little while to come. Readers if you like a book that doesn't take itself entirely too seriously but is well written, a whole lot of naughty and a novel full of sweet then I don't want you to miss out, I can see a re read in the near future but until then I will happily day dream about the extremely handsome Reese and his talented tongue. Go get your tasty fix readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

This is my first J. Daniels book and it won’t be my last. In fact, after reading this super hilarious and sexy book, I want to go and gobble up all her others. I love laughing out loud when I read. And this book had so many laugh out loud moments. The friendships in this book was one of the very best parts, along with the hot sex. Oh, and the romance too ;)

Dylan Sparks is the owner of Dylan’s Sweet Tooth. She loves to bake. Because of this, she happens to go to a lot of weddings. She makes the cakes, it’s only natural. But as a rule, she doesn’t ever hook up at weddings. She’s just not the type. But when she meets Reese Carroll, that changes.

 photo 416829a5-cd55-4ff5-a67d-49e885af8d2b_zps4d65136d.jpg

Reese doesn’t do girlfriends and he doesn’t do commitment. He never has and no one is going to change that for him. Then he meets fun and spunky Dylan. Dylan is not like the other women he’s normally with. There is something about her that sparks something in him. Makes him feel differently, want different things. Thing’s he is not used to wanting or feeling.
“You make me want different things, things I’ve never wanted before.”

 photo c5619dae-31a5-41a2-b179-d45adae8fef5_zps1892c78c.jpg

Reese… you sexy, dirty talking sweetheart. Nothing is better than a man who says he doesn’t do love, but is really a romantic with a fantastic dirty mouth. Reese was so easy to fall for. And then Dylan. I can’t even keep track of how many times that girl made me laugh. Throw her and Joey together- it’s a hoot!
“Jesus Christ. It was way too early to talk about dick sizes and which way they cure.” I pause. “But for the record, he’s massive and as straight as you pretended to be in high school.”

See what I mean??? I loved their back and forth banter.

I love when a friends with benefits type scenario turns into so much more. Both try to fight their feelings, but can’t help but fall farther and farther. This book really did have the perfect amount of steam, humor and romance. It was a tad angsty with some miscommunication towards the end, but besides that it was a very fun and highly entertaining read. I am very much looking forward to jumping into book 2!

I have never ever been more relieved to have received a book for free from kindle! Because If I had paid for this, I would be distraught over being out of the Amazon 14 day return period.

For all those who have not read this book and are thinking of doing so, let me give you the basic plot, mainly in picture form.

First off though:

Gay best friend - √
Horrible ex - √
Stalker insane ex of new guy - √
Massive misunderstanding due to the heroine only hearing half of a conversation - √
Heroine with an unexplained and unbelievable low self esteem, despite her actually being super hot - √

But onto the story.

annnnnnnnd that is basically it. With the addition of the odd idiot ex mixed in there somewhere

So again, making your heroine a slap happy twat, is not making her "cute" or "fiesty" or whatever else you thought you were writing her as.

She is an abuser - just because she is female does not make it any less true. It is not funny or sexy. It is just wrong.

And how the heroine actually made any money is beyond me, other than the odd wedding cake, or cakes for herself, she did zero baking, yet seemed to have an endless supply of cakes and pastries out the back, that I assume the magical cupcake fairy made.

I will not be reading the next book about these two, unless I read a review that the hero actually dumps the heroine due to her habit of slapping him hard across the face for every perceived slight. Not that he was much better in all honesty, sleeps with his secretary (who ofc turns out to be insane! duh! she is an ex girlfriend, she was never going to be much else) then fires her, due to I assume it being awkward to fuck your current girlfriend up against your office door, when your recent hook up/employee is sitting on the other side. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen I am sure.

So basically:

I had this book hanging out on my TBR list for a long time and kept seeing wonderful reviews for it, so I finally decided to give it a whirl. I listened to the Audible version, and it was a good listening choice for me.

I don't like to choose audiobooks that are too dirty because let's just face it, it's a little awkward to have a narrator talk dirty to you in traffic, especially if their voice is off-putting. I also don't want to pick one with an intricate plot that has too many twists and turns. After all, I have to reserve some mental capacity to pay attention to the other cars on the road.

That being said, this was just the fun, light-hearted story for my commute! The storyline was humorous and sexy, but also predictable. I liked the characters, despite a few irritating traits. The supporting characters were also fantastic. I found myself wanting to know their stories as well.

In a nutshell, this is a story of a wedding hook-up, turned into a "casual" fling, turned into love. Emotions run thick. The two main characters, Dylan and Reese, let their insecurities get the best of them. Eventually, a colossal misunderstanding breaks the two apart temporarily. However, not to worry, they do find their way back together.

Overall, I thought it was a fun, entertaining read. It kept me laughing with the banter between Dylan and her friends. I thought it was great.

I pretty much loathed this book. The characters were ridiculously immature. They were like foul mouthed teenagers who had nothing better to do than talk about their sex lives. There wasn't an ounce of depth to any of them.

Also, let me make this perfectly clear, physical violence in a relationship is NOT sexy! It's unhealthy behavior. Just because it's a woman doing the hitting and not the man it does not make it ok. The h in the story slapped the H numerous times and over things that she either overreacted to or jumped to conclusions over and the author wants us to believe the H was simply ok with it and found it sexy.

How sexy would it be if he slapped across the face?

42 days, 1008 hours, 60480 minutes .. since this book has been in my TBR .. but whose counting! I regret not reading this right when I got my hands on it. However I am ever so greatful to have atleast read it now. WOW! Jessica Daniels is a pretty freaking incredible writer if you ask me. That dialogue was comical, those scenes were steamy as f*ck (no pun intended), and those characters were flawless. I'm impressed. I was not expecting to love it as much as I did. I can most definitely see myself re-reading it.

No, we're not a couple.
We're monogamously casual.

#SluttyWeddingSex .. what the ever so perfect couple participated in .. where it ALL began! I'm so glad that Dylan fell for Reese .. Sparks were certainly flying (HAHAHA see what I did there). It was extremely frustrating when they were underlying there relationship however actions speak louder than words. It was lust in the beginning for Reese but then I fell in love with him the moment he dropped EVERYTHING to be with Dylan. That right there is a freaking #Keeper .. I salute you Mister Caroll. They supported one another and built a strong foundation which resulted in a beautiful relationship.

No, we're not a couple. We're monogamously casual.

If you were to tell me this time last year that I would be perving over a CPA, I would have pulled a Dylan and slapped yo' face and called you crazy. I mean, a CPA? Hot? Sexy? If we're talking about dirty talking CPA Reese, the answer to that is an unequivocal FUCK YES.

Ha! See what I did there? If you've read the book, you'll know ;)

This was my first book by Jessica Daniels, and I can definitely tell you it will not be my last. I really enjoyed Sweet Addiction. It was sexy and funny and had many of the elements that make for a 5 star read for me.

Unfortunately, I also happen to be a reader that if the heroine bothers me, it will bring down the enjoyment of the book for me. And slap happy Dylan? Well, was a little too slap happy for my particular tastes.

I wanted to love her as much as I loved Reese, but then she would go an do something that would have me feeling like I wanted to reach through my kindle and throttle her. It wasn't that frequent, but it was definitely enough where I found myself zeroing in on the times that she did.

The biggest highlight aside from the scorching romance were the fabulous secondary characters. I couldn't get enough of Joey. The only way it could have been any better is if the author gave us a secondary story of Joey and Billy. I think I would've been in pervy heaven. True story.

My other major quibble was the drama at the 85% mark of the book. One of my biggest pet peeves as a reader happens to be drama that could have easily been avoided with just ONE conversation. The entire book Dylan and Reese are miscommunication central.

And I didn't even mind that. But the big drama all the way at the end was a touch too much, at least for me. It did have a fabulous HEA and a swoony epilogue, so that did help a little.

Jessica Daniels is definitely an author to watch out for in the future for me. I'll happily read any of her future releases. While Sweet Addiction may not have been my perfect 5 star read, it was still an enjoyable and solid 3 star. If you're looking for a quirky and steamy romance, definitely give it a go.

I went to the trusty listopia list and got me the first 10 or so entries in "funny romance" and this was one. I am questioning the trustworthiness of listopia now. It wasn't actually funny at all. I guess they were trying to be funny when they said things like the gay man had a "gay emergency". When he asked why it was a gay emergency, she says they all are. Because he's gay? Can't gay people have straight emergencies or, oh I don't know, emergencies? Whatever....
It had the humor that bitchy, catty girls who talk trashy have. You know, where everything becomes a sex joke? Eventually it gets really old and you feel like you need a shower to wash off the ick.

Yeah. Hilarious. Again.

The deal is that Dylan, our heroine, wants to hook-up with someone for wedding-sex at her ex-boyfriend's wedding. She talks a dirty game, but we later learn that she's never hooked-up with anyone anywhere before, and has never had an orgasm, and had only slept with one guy - the ex. This all puts her into that "special virgin" category for the guy, Reese, who gets to alpha-out on the fact that he is the only one. The man who OWNS her body. Blah blah blah...

Reese is a man-whore who has done more girls at a wedding than David's Bridal. But, when he finds Dylan, and screws her in the bathroom, he realizes she's special. Bathroom sex - the birthplace of many beautiful romances. My parents met that way, and my grandparents before them. It's so sweet!

Let's celebrate our engagement with alcohol. No, not drinks, I mean Purell.

So, our couple decides to get into the worst, stupidest, most drama-laden relationship ever. Their relationship consists entirely of misunderstandings, angst, and her slapping his face - multiple times.

It's ugly, but won't be ignored.

Basically, what I'm saying is that this book is a trainwreck. And, like most crazy people, I am indeed going to read the next book. A. because I have it. And B. I can't look away.

Sweet Addiction is my favorite type of story, it is crazy sweet and crazy hot - I am a fan of the crazy! Based on the cover I knew this would probably be a sweet read, but don’t judge a book by a cover because it is also so freaking hot.

We first meet Dylan when she is preparing to go to her ex’s wedding. My first thought was why would she be going to this wedding, well she owns a bakery and is in charge of the wedding cake. This has disaster written all over it, but instead of it being an epic fail we get our first peek at just how funny Dylan is and what adventure she will be taking us on.

“Jesus Christ. It was way too early to talk about dick sizes and which way they curve.” I pause. “But for the record, he’s massive and as straight as you pretended to be in high school.”

We also get to meet Reese at the wedding and people I loved Reese. Obviously Dylan was a fan as she decided to have her first wedding fling and had a little too much fun in the bathroom. This was the point I knew this was the story for me, because in the very beginning I found I loved Dylan's humor, spunk, and style. Then we have Reese and it was over, I loved how he was direct, sexy, and charming.

Dylan and Reese fall into a friends with benefits type situation, but decide to be exclusive. I say fall into as neither one of them really say what type of relationship they want, instead they make assumptions. I loved watching their relationship build and unfold. These two are absolutely perfect for each other and I loved how they felt like real people. Their life was full of mishaps and misunderstandings, but it felt real to me. I could empathize with Dylan and her thoughts, so even when things were on the rockier side I still enjoyed the story.

Overall, this is a definite 5 star read for me. I love fun, sexy stories that also offer depth and of course hot sex. In a lot of stories I feel like we usually get one or the other, but this story delivered on all fronts. This is my first book by J. Daniels and I cannot wait to read more. Highly recommend!

 4,5 Addictive Stars!

Dylan is a baker and the last job she had to do, was the wedding cake for her ex-boyfriend. So she's decided to enjoy it the most and have one crazy nightwith one of the hot guys invited.
Enters Reese, the hot aaccountant she meets there and they immediately hit off and well, they have a pretty crazy night together. But was supposedly to be a one night thing turns into something more and feelings they don't want to have, start to appear.

description

And as their romance evolves they'll have to figure out: how does two commitment phobics make a relationship work, when they dont want to admit they're in one?

description

 Rating: 4,5 Stars.
Storyline: Sweet, romantic and so, so sexy. I loved how this was a nice story with normal characters and no unnecessary drama. The twist near the 80/85% mark were what I really didn’t like. I don’t like how the story were turned by a cliché misunderstanding. Other than that, this was a sweetly addictive story.
Writing Style: First person. Female POV. Engaging and addictive with pretty sexy moments.
Character Development: I loved Reese! Not only he was sexy as all hell, he was honest and a great guy. Dylan annoyed me at some moments but in general I liked her. I didn’t liked however how she was so determinted for some things but wasn’t when she really needed to be. The supportive characters were really good. I loved how both of them had really nice group of friends.
 Steam: So HOT!

"One hundred and thirty -two days. That’s how long I’ve loved you."

How better else to cope with the wedding of your ex, that you are not only the one baking the cake but going as a guest as well, than to have hot dirty wedding sex… The rules are simple, Get in. Get laid. Get out. But out of all the men she had to choose, she gets the man who is determined to convince her to give more.
"Oh my God, you’re a game changer. He wants more than just slutty wedding sex.”

With unique thoughtful gifts delivered to her bakery, she can't help but wonder what else this sexy man has up his sleeve. There is no question that Reese wants more but all she wants to be is casual.
“No, we’re not a couple. We’re monogamously casual.”

But as Dylan realizes there is no stopping Reese when he wants something and he is just too addictive to give up.

Sweet Addiction is a funny sexy read with a complete cast: you have your scrumptious Hero who doesn't understand the word "No" and a sassy Heroine that suffers from word vomit, not to mention her hilarious besties. This was a complete feel good kinda read that is just what I needed after all the darker reads I've been consuming. You can't go wrong with laughter, sweets and sex.

**Although there is a second book, this does have an ending so there is no cliffhanger, but with that said there is also no epilogue so if you want to follow up with them, you're gonna have to get the next book.

Dylan is attending the wedding of her ex boyfriend.. Her ex is a total douche but she is there because she is the baker of the wedding cake.. And she is also looking for slutty wedding sex and free booze..

At the wedding she meets Reese.. You ask how? Well, how normal people meet nowadays..
She falls in his lap

(Thats exactly how it happened... :D)

Since she is only looking for a fling she suggests Reese..

and he says

after that follows

They agree to have casual monogamous sex.. and since she is a baker it gets a little messy one time...

Reese is soo sweet you really can't help falling in love with him. I have a sweet spot for panty thieves anyway :D But Dylan isn't sure if Reese is feeling the same for her.
Even when he gives her a hint
"Have you heard the song “Do I Wanna Know?” by the Arctic Monkeys?
I can’t listen to it anymore without thinking of you, not that I’m complaining or anything."

Here some lyrics...

Lets face it.. she was a little slow off the mark...

The story had some silly drama in it and in the end

Even with the stupid drama I think this book is worth the read. It was funny and light and totally steamy.. The Characters in this book were amazing and hilarious.. I really loved each of them... but my favorite is of course Reese..

It has a HFN ending.. I hope that Dylan learns to hear people out in book 2.
I know drama, jealously and angst keeps a story thrilling. But it is possible to write books
without unnecessary drama and break-ups in and it can be still an amazing and funny story.. I hope the author will focus on that in book 2. I don't want to read about how Dylan makes the same mistakes again...

Once again, it appears I’m in the minority. I wasn’t wowed by this one with all its monotonous porn-like sexual encounters throughout. Most of it felt like page filler porn without adding anything positive to the storyline. For the late twenties and early thirties set, the immaturity level was off-balance and downright childish and juvenile.

The book blurb and the cover attracted my attention to this one. But that’s just about where it ended. Oh, the male lead was physically appealing , and I found myself more drawn to him as the story went along until I hit the silliness continually playing out between him and Dylan, who I had expected to be a favorite character. She was not.

I had a difficult time warming to Dylan, who drank and trash-talked more than her fair share. Her fetish for slapping Reese in the face every time she had a problem with him completely removed her from the radar. I don’t like physical abuse and this seemed over the line. I was also surprised that Reese didn’t seem to let it bother him – he either laughed it off or walked away. It seemed out-of-character for him.

And once again, I ask the question: Why can’t these couples have a normal face-to-face conversation and resolve these ridiculously meaningless conflicts between each other? The major conflict here was pretty pathetic and overplayed. Communicate people!

Although this one ended with a happy for now, Book Two, SWEET POSSESSION is scheduled for release in July 2014, and will complete Dylan and Reese’s story. To be quite honest, I was quite content with leaving the story here. Another book may be overkill.

If Dylan Sparks has to attend her stupid ex-boyfriend's wedding then by God, she's gonna get some hot, no strings attached sex. And the minute she walks down her pew to sit she knows with whom she wants said sex, Reese Carroll. Since when are accountants so freakin sexy?

After a quick fuck in the men's bathroom which he leaves in a hurry with a mumbled sorry she's quite determined that this was the end of their adventure. That is until she is mistakenly informed that he is married and decides to confront him.

Now they seem unable to stay away from each other but Dylan needs to keep the rules in place if she wants to walk away from this with her heart intact because she has been warned that Reese doesn't do serious.

But if he doesn't do serious then why is he pushing the boundaries all the time?

The book started strong. For the first 60% I was confident that it would be a 4 at worst and most likely a 5. There was plenty of hot sex and sweetness between Reese and Dylan but what stole the show was Dylan's friendhip with Juls and Joey. The three of them together were the group of friends everyone wants. Fun, sweet and completely innapropriete most of the time. Joey, the gay best friend and bakery asssistant, seemed to have no filter whatsoever in the things that came out of his mouth. The scenes at Dylan's bakery were hilarious.

And then the book became a cheese fest full of miscommunication. Silly arguements, ridiculous misunderstandings and a Dylan that went from awesome to pathetic. Instead of confronting Reese with how she felt about him and learning how he felt about her she just assumed that he wasn't there for the long run despite all the signs he gave that pointed to the opposite. She took the word of a third person on the fact that Reese didn't do relationships and rolled with it.

And Reese trying to pull of the "possessive Alpha male" didn't work for me. He just came across as an asshole. Especially the scene with the dress was ridiculous. And Dylan just went ahead and forgave him like nothing happened. Like he didn't insinuate she was a slut. Thanks for the drama fest but no, thanks.

Anyways, started great but didn't keep up that way... More's the pity. It did have an awesome playlist though. The author hit the mark with her music selection.

3.5 Rounded Up Because A Lot To Like Stars
* * * 1/2 FREE
It can be so hard sometimes when you like so much about a book... and then certain things just creep in and annoy you. I try really hard to be open to the Big Picture of books and most of the time I think I accomplish that goal. But every once in a while... no matter how much I love the story, characters and humor....a repeat situation can just kill my buzz.

Now it was a personal thing for me... so... I am saying from the beginning... this book had great humor... smart, sexy banter... with characters who had a lot going on for them.
They were interesting... accomplished with real professions. There was a tight support system of friends and it all worked perfectly. The set up of meeting the main characters was cute and I was prepared for insta lust... no problem. The attraction was there with the both of them... there was dirty, sexy banter... perfect... everything was all systems go. The sexy times were fantastic...and overall I can really understand how many just love this book.

My hiccup has to do with his use of an endearment for her... all of the time. It just ruined the moments FOR ME.... probably not for others. There were also some issues with how she would assume negative stuff and then not accept his communication. Again... I understand... stories need to be told... and these are important parts of tales...

So overall, a terrific story... really smart writing and great romantic sexy times for all....so I rounded up to 4 stars giving credit where credit is due... because the hiccups, as I said, were My thing...

4 Sweet and Sexy Stars

 photo PicMonkeyCollage_zps216c996d.png

I was hopping on a plane for a quick weekend getaway with the hubby and I was looking for a fluffy but sexy read and I definitely got it with Sweet Addiction. The only negative thing I will say was there was just a little too much drama. I could see it coming, the misunderstanding, the miscommunication, it just bugged me.

Here is the gist…

Dylan is a baker and a sexy one at that. She is heading off to her ex-boyfriends wedding with her gay guy friend and assistant Joey. She’s not going as a willing guest but she is there to deliver the wedding cake she made and to meet up with her bff Juls.

Dylan ends up meeting Reese. He’s is a good friend and co-worker of Ian who is dating Juls. He is also an extremely HOT CPA. After their rather clumsy meeting and a few cocktails, these two hookup for some scorching hot bathroom sex. All this hotness leads to Dylan and Reese having a “monogamously casual” relationship. Right…

The sexual chemistry between these two was crazy. I loved it. The sexting, the little deliveries and all the sexy times had my heart racing. As much as they both want to have this “casual” relationship things slowly change.

Yup and this is where the conflict comes into play and lack of communication which ultimately drove me batty. I loved them together but it just seemed that there was one misunderstanding after another. Reese was stepping up to the plate, trying to make more of their relationship but Dylan just had too much crap floating around in her head.

Ahh but there is light at the end of this “monogamously casual” tunnel and I did end up a happy girl. :)

Overall it was an enjoyable read. It was funny, sexy and sweet. Her gay friend Joey was great. He had me laughing and rolling my eyes too. Her best friend Juls was great too.

4.5 'Do I Wanna Know' Stars!
 photo 860511_zpstsugypl4.gif

I've been wanting to read something by J. Daniels for a long time and when a fellow blogger friend recommended this series, I knew this was a great way to start. Boy.. this definitely was more than I expected!

This will not be long. The best part? Of course, fucking REESE. The man is sex on legs, dirty AF and just the best! One of my favorite book boyfriends, definitely! Loving this man and this series! <333

3.5 Love Stars!

This was totally fun! J. Daniels always has a unique way of making you smile and pant when reading her books. What better than a man with a deep timbre calling his woman "Love"? This was quite predictable with the one time hot wedding hookup turning into a forever kind of thing. The problem is the fighting of emotions as keeping he "casually monogamous" fling from getting serious.

My faves: Reese...not much to complain about here. He is quite the perfect standard when it comes to book boyfriends. He is sweet, sexy, dominant and a swoon-worthy romantic. And, I cant forget the bff club...Jules the gal pal, in love, hottie extraordinaire and Joey, the outrageously fun and perfect gay bf! The banter alone is worth the read.

My 2 second rant: Dylan... while I loved this chick's feistiness and sass...I am not a fan of the dramatic face slap! My girl belted her love interest not once...but 3x possibly 4...I lost count! I am all for the one time slap to someone being completely inappropriate and hurting you, but ummmm...slapping someone over some miscommunication? It just doesn't work for me. Reese was pretty amazing and if Dylan wasn't so damn horny and hot for him, he should not have taken her wrath! Let's be real, it was Dylan who set the rules and it was Dylan who was always struggling with those rules!

Ok ,so that's a me issue, and! Ok...moving on and looking forward to the next in series!

5 Surprise Sweet Stars

For the longest time I didn’t want to pick up Sweet Addiction. I think the summary kind of turned me off, but this is the book that just couldn’t get off my mind.

If you want something, funny, great, hilarious, cute and just all around awesome, then sweet addiction is for you.

I gobbled this little sucker up

Dylan

Dylan owns a bakery and she’s crazy adorable, awesome, strong and smart. Think about those Heroines, who are insane, crazy and kind of just silly, well Dylan is the opposite of that. There’s so many times I thought Dylan would go cliché and do the things that is most obvious and annoying, but nope, it’s nip in the butt and the beautiful story moves forward.

I loved Dylan.

Reese

Do I like Reese because I have this crazy obsession for CPA’s? Well maybe, but that’s not the only reason. I love how Daniels makes geeky number guy, crazy awesome and swoon worthly. Yeah, I said it, he’s swoon worthly. Reese is the guy you want to meet, fall in love with and make babies with. He’s just sexy, smart and very readable.

Review

Dylan attends her ex’s wedding because she made the cake. She accidently falls into Reese’s lap and there the story begins. Dylan has crazy wedding sex with Reese in the bathroom and from there a non-serious relationship forms. Basically friends with benefits, but with only each other.

I usually don’t go for the friends-with-benefits storyline, but this one worked for me. Dylan tries really hard to keep her distance. She knows Reese is known to play the field and she can see that falling in love with Reese would be a very bad thing.

Reese just goes with the flow and I simply love it.

I wouldn’t say Sweet Addiction is too angsty, but just the right amount of steam and tension, two main things I look for in a read. I love how witty and funny the writing is. I read this in one sitting, it just simply perfect for me.

If you looking for another Seduction and Snacks, then Sweet Addiction s for you.

Well well well...
What an unexpected surprise this book was!

When Dylan went to a wedding and wanted some slutty wedding sexy times... She didn't know what exactly is going to happen.

A bit cliché when people say that sex is just sex because it never really is....

No one follows the 'rules'

When the girl is having the sex of her life and the time of her life... She basically has to talk herself into NOT falling in LOVE.

Well... You can guess how this played out...

A funny and sexy read with lots of cake eating (pun intended) and a sexy sexy man I can only picture as my fav boy!

4.5 Sweet Alpha Stars!!

I don't know what I was on thinking when I first read and reviewed this.

 photo drunk_zpsprodmgqm.gif

I loved it the second time around. It was fun, flirty, funny and HOT!!

I loved Dylan and Reese, they are super steamy together and sure do like a good romp in the bathroom. Reese is the perfect mix of sweet and alpha and had me swooning. It's not fair that Dylan runs a bakery and gets to sample all the goods but she also gets a man that sends her love letters and presents all the time, swoon!!

It just goes to show how tastes change, I can see how this story may have been too sweet for me six years ago when I first read it. Now life is more serious, there is definitely a need for sweet reads.

***OLD REVIEW***
3 - 3.5 stars. This book was written with a lot of humour which I like however there was just not enough of a story for me. Give this author a good plot and I'm sure they would come out with a best seller. The female lead in this gave me the shits as she was just dumb. This was just not enough for me sorry.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. In fact, until close to the end, it was a 5 star read for me. It had everything I love in a romance... humour, off the charts sexiness, swoon-worth hero and great characters.

I really enjoyed the instant chemistry between Dylan and Reece. Dylan was hilarious and I found myself laughing out lout constantly at their banter. They were so great together.

There was little drama holding these two apart. So why only the 4 star? Well, like so many other books, the heroine brought down the rating for me. She was beyond clueless to what was happening in her relationship with Dylan, which seemed out of character for her. And Can you say COMPLETE overreaction?

Luckily, this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. Loved loved loved Reece. Loved Dylan's potty mouth. Loved Joey's potty mouth EVEN more. Loved the friendship between Dylan, Joey and Juls.

Okay. This really pains me, because it don't like writing bad reviews. I guess to start out, because of the blurb, I was expecting a female version of Wedding Crashers. I thought it would be a funny concept for women to go in and have one-night stands. This was not that. Every page after 30% I almost DNF, but I powered through because there were a couple of sinister characters that I kind of had to see where they went. From about 60% on, I just skimmed, getting the gist of the story. The heroine was bad. Extremely immature for being 26. I can't even describe how annoying and juvenile she was. I think the 2 stars are all for Reese. He was sexy, smart, and slightly possessive, which was really hot. I honestly cannot fathom why there are so many 5 star ratings. Maybe it's me, I dunno. It just wasn't for me, I guess.

description

description

4. Empecé a leer el libro porque descubrí que estaba gratis en Amazon (todavía, por si alguien se quiere arriesgar) me sonó un poco a la peli Wedding Crashers pero en versión femenina. Así que dije: Wow, eso suena súper genial… But it’s not. ¬¬ #Shame

5.
Sweet Addiction is the story of one girl’s struggle to keep things casual, and one boy’s desire to never let her go.

description

8.

“Your ex is what happened to my hand. I told you that I’d make sure he never touched you again and I fucking did. Now explain to me why the fuck you’re wearing that? You knew I wouldn’t be here until later so don’t fucking say it was for me.”

#GoDieInAHole #DeboPensarQueEstoEsHot? #WTF

description

#Meh #PleaseTellMeMore.

11. Todo es tan conveniente. Meh.

description

12. La relación sexual JAMÁS deja de ser eso, una relación sexual. El amor aparece de la nada.

description

13. Todos los problemas que se presentan entre los protagonistas son por falta de comunicación y porque en realidad no se conocen nada de nada.

14.

Reese looked at me differently when I wore dresses. He still had that raw animalistic stare that could melt the panties right off me, but there was also this sweetness behind it, a gentleness that I saw when I’d worn them around him. He looked at me like I was delicate and I liked that.

#QueAlguienLeRegaleUnaPersonalidad

description

15. El arma secreta del protagonista es el sexo. Cada vez que ella quiere protestar él pone su boca/pene en su vagina y se acabó. Y ella cae. Cada. Maldita. Vez.

description

16. Él se acostó con su secretaria y la despidió porque ella no aceptó que la dejara. ¿Pero qué clase de PROFESIONAL SE ACUESTA CON SU SECRETARIA? #AssholesEverywhere #DondeLaboresNoEnamoresFolles

17.

“You haven’t called or texted me since Friday afternoon, I get topless in front of you and you barely react, and you’re not looking at me the way you look at me. You don’t even want me anymore. You just want your stupid game.”

#WTF #TeenagerMoment #HowOldAreYou

description

18. Todas las mujeres se convierten en amenazas para la protagonista y todos los hombres en amenazas para el protagonista. Qué clase de relación es esa?

19.

I dip my finger into my mouth. “I love it when you mark me.”

#FuckThisShit

20. El uso excesivo de la palabra FUCK es tan FUCKING molesto. So, para cerrar, también lo usaré… because I can

FUCK. THIS. SHIT.

FUCK. THIS SHIT.

FUCK.

FUCK.

FUCKING FUCK.

FUCK THIS FUCKING BOOK.

#FuckThis.

After re-reading this 2 years later, I don't like the writing style. It's quite cringey but bearable. I'm so not a fan of Dylan. She annoyed me this time. And the nicknames were so not appealing but y'know what I love about this book? Reese Carroll...*dreamy sigh*. That man is the perfect mixture of romantic and possessive. And I quite like Joey too.

Sidenote: This book has my favourite sex scenes. None of the sex scenes made me uncomfortable (minus the sickly sweet nickname quite literally).

"Just my face?"
❤️❤️
I thank my dearest sister for recommending this superbly erotic and an amazing read♥️

I was so so drowning into it from the very first page. I devoured each and every sentence of this book. I loved the emotional web they all created around them.

Characters are exceptionally portrayed. The protagonists have their own set of qualities which makes them so dear to me.
Reese is oh-so-alpha yet a soft-hearted man. I approved him the moment Dylan fell into his lap.
And Dylan is my typical favourite. Her fierceness reminds me of those girls who makes their own choice and don't follow a certain group. She is so protective of people around her which makes her even more special.

I loved their scorching chemistry. It was so so hot everywhere 🔥🔥

Storyline and plotting too was amazing. I loved loved loved it❤️
Finally a romance which made my toe curl.♥️
