I've not heard of any of these books except for The time travellers wife which is the worst book ive ever read. My votes: Replay and the end of eternity are the best time travel romances ive read.

Are you kidding me!!! I dont care for most of these books, but I have to say that The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon are my FAVORITE BOOKS to read! You will cry, laugh hysterically, throw something at the wall in anger, and the characters will become part of you. If you read none of these, read those. You will not be disappointed!
I have NEVER read better romance books than The Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon! I totally agree with Linzy (message 3) Laugh, cry, anger is so true! I laughed so hard I almost p**d my pants & cried so hard I couldn't see the pages & had to stop to get myself together! I've never read a book that made me SO angry I could have hit something and yet was so full of love it makes you believe in it all over again.
You begin to think of these characters as your family & each book as a diary of their life. Never is there enough, your always left wanting more & to me THAT'S a great book! Diana Gabaldon is the absolute best historical romance author I've ever had the privilege to read and I hope she will continue to write more about these characters!
Ohh and if my history books in high school would have been this interesting I would have payed attention, learned a LOT more & gotten A's! LOL

For people who like time travel books - read Ferney by James Long .. I read it long, long ago but it has stayed with me all these years, so I figure it must have been pretty good!

Please forgive my inability to write an appropiate comment. This is my first on line comment...however very mouthy in person so figure I'll catch on. Now then, I loved !!!!! everyone of the listed books, which I have read, except The Time Traveler's Wife. But, was thrilled to see Ferny, which is wonderful!!! I just came upon it browsing through used books on a sale table while on vacation in Maine several years ago. I have never heard anyone else mention it. I loan it out with a chain attached to it and add and delete people by their response to reading it. I was very disappointed with the couple of others he has written, just not up to Ferny.
I am thrilled to have found you all and hope I will be able to get back in the future to 'hear' more of your comments. Totally agree with Robin and Outlander series. Even got my husband (yeah, really!!) to read them. Diana is keeping him alive- he says he has to live long enough to finish the story. We've had our own romance for 46 years and believe me, even though he is a voracious reader of history novels-Cornwell, etc. romance fiction was never an option!
Again, love finding you!! Suzanne

I started Outlander....... AND it was melting my brain so I stopped. Time Traveler's wife is a good book. A good time travel book is Kindred. It just celebrated 25th anniversary reprint. Good book.
Time Travel Romance is one of my all-time favorite genres to read. They're so much fun and fantastical, you can't help but wish you were there.
That being said, Outlander is hands down the best book I've ever read- time travel or no. It pulls you in and sweeps you up in the story. It's not hokey but believeable and you empathize with every single character that appears on the page.
It's a very long book but when the 800 pages are over, you can't believe it was so quick of a read. I've read Outlander twice and I'm currently reading the rest of the series.

I really wish there was a way to add a few more to this list! I absolutely LOVE Time-Travel romances. Especially the one's with the big hunk of Scott that is in some of them! To be placed in Scotland's history would be terrifying but to have a big sexy highlander just might make it worth the trip...lol!

Since I have read all seven of the Outlander books, I am desperately searching for something else I can really get into. Any suggestions?
A new time travel book that I really loved was "Marking Time" The Immortal Descendants, by April White. It is very well written, fast paced, lots of humor, and best of all, characters well drawn that you want to see again and again in years to come in many more books!

Absolutely Yes! Diana Gabaldon has mastered the art of writing this genre. I could never get enough of Jamie & Claire. When will the story continue?
I discovered Susanna Kearsley and her time travel romances are incredible- I highly recommend Winter Seas. I also adore the Outlander series

I LIKE THE HIGHLANDER BOOK AND WOULD LIKE TO FIND MORE AMISH BOOKS FOR FREE I AM 76 YEARS OLD AND MY SON AND DAUGHTER JUST BOUGHT ME A NOOK LOVE IT LUCILLE lfw1937@frontier.com
Lucille, you can check your local library. Many actually have ebooks and audiobooks for download for their patrons.
where are Heinlein's books. Time enough for Love and To Sail beyond the Sunset? And can't wait for the next book in the Voyager series.
I have been looking for a time travel book can't remember title or Author a present day female gets sent to past is surrounded or captured by a group of I believe highlanders, or normans , she was on vacation when it happened, it was around some rocks not sure if it was stonehenge or not, (it's not the outlander)
Can any of you help me find a series... several books. Time travel. The books cross characters. If I remember correctly in one books there is a present say and an alternate universe with doppelgangers. A witch can bring people forward or send them back. In one book the female character is brought to the alternate world and the lesser of the tribe wants her so he fights members of his tribe trying to claim her as their own. She and the leader fall in love and she gets pregnant with twins, a boy and girl. Anyone know the series I'm taking about?

What is it with time travel and Scotland? Seems like there is an endless amount of books with a similar theme as Outlander; Scotland, time travel and highland warriors and/or lairds. Is Outlander the original and the others inspired by it?

I think it's more about the Scotsmen. They're sexy to romance readers. I like them too. Although I'm not an Outlander fan. No flaming please. *grin* I've tried to read the book about three or four times. Each time I couldn't get past 55-60 pages. I don't think Outlander inspired time-travel. A Knight In Shining Armor was in readers hands Two years before Outlander. Outlander is more a historical fiction book than romance, but the romance elements has captured readers hearts.

I love all of Diana Gabaldon's books. I have for about 20 years now. Never read a better book than Outlander...Voyager comes close. That being said...Suzanne Frank's Reflections in the Nile series are pretty good. The leading characters Chloe and Cheftu are easy to get attached to. There are 4 books in this series so you don't have to let go right away. I love series books. Going to start Song of Fire and Ice series soon. I have two of the five....

I'd like to suggest my time-travel novel, IN TIME. This is the book description:
"It never occurred to Allie Winters that there was something different about Evermore—the small town that she was forced to spend five days in because her car had to be fixed. Yes, it was quaint and yes, it seemed maddeningly out of step with the current times, but it was nevertheless like all those other “remember when” towns she had visited—people in different era clothing, out-of-date music playing on the radio, roads that were only semi-standard and no modern conveniences to be seen or heard. In other words, just another tourist trap.
But was it? The clues were always there for Allie but in the beginning she misreads them and thinks she has come upon yet another “restored” town that Americans like to visit during summer vacations. When she finally understands that by some strange trick of fate she has actually entered a time warp – it’s only August, 1941, in Evermore – it’s too late for her to just leave for she has already fallen in love with the editor of the town’s weekly newspaper. Noah Wilson, in the course of nly a few days, has won her heart in a thousand small ways – from his low-key acceptance of life to his extraordinarily old-fashioned ways of loving her.
IN TIME is a love story of two people who, through some “window in time” are able to meet, get to know each other, fall in love and then understand that that love—though they don’t know how—will be bound forever and ever throughout eternity."
I hope you enjoy it.

I've just discovered that my book Advance is on this list. Time travel romance set in a dystopian future. Great reviews from book blogs so far. Please have a look if you're looking for your next read!xxx
Hi I'm trying to find a book i read i couple of years ago its about a young lady who went out into a clearing to watch a meteor shower and fell only to fall in the past where she meets a man with two kids and she helps them on the farm
I loved the Diana Gabaldon books; I've read every single one of them and was bereft when they finished. It was like losing someone I loved.
I first discovered Anya Seton's Green Darkness when I was a teenager and I've read it so many times since then that my paperback copy is in tatters and I've had to get an e-version to keep me going.

Can someone help me find two time travel romances? I wasn't sure how to find them as it's been so long, but here it goes.
The first one: The male MC is a ghost who wanders around in modern times. He's able to get the female MC's help to travel back in time to find out who murdered the MC. I believe his name was Devin/Devlin. In the end, they found out who murdered him (some sort of scam artist), and the female MC stayed with the alive MC in the past, thereby living HEA.
The second one: I think the male MC was named Adam. The female MC went back into time and met the male MC and his family. Eventually, she stays in the past, but the male MC's sister (Lydia?), goes to the future as she is 23-- young in our time, but a spinster in her time. The male MC's sister ends up meeting his wife's sister in the future.
Thank you so much, but that's all I could remember is someone could help me find the books.

Thanks! I'm looking into them, but I don't it's hers. The one I'm looking for, I'm pretty sure the MC died from a gunshot wound so anything set in the Scottish highlands is probably not it.
