Midnight Star (Vampire Girl #2) by Karpov Kinrade is a book I had to read along with the rest of the series in one night! This is such an excellent series! Fae, demons, and shifters, and more. The plot, characters, and twists, and romance. This is one of those series that is fresh, exciting, and one fantasy series that sneaks up on you and hooks you! It had me and I had to read all four in one night!

Holy crap this took forever to read because I kept falling asleep, not a good sign people! This series is supposed to be super long and if I'm already bored with the second one, there's a problem.

It's not like there was nothing going on, everyone is gearing up for a war. But this short ass novella literally could've been 5 pages and given me the same information.

It also seemed like all the characters were way more interesting before and now they had as much personality as cardboard cutouts. The only redeeming character was Yami, a tiny dragon almost no one could see and he didn't even have any dialogue.

Here's to the next one being good and thank god these books are cheap.

Midnight Star is part of the Vampire Girl series. It is the second book and cannot be read as a standalone. The story is available on Kindle Unlimited. You need to read book one first, and this instalment ends with... to be continued. There are four books in total.

Midnight Star dives straight back into the story. There are twists and turns at every point. Ari and Fen are separated. Asher requests to spend the month with the princess, and the King makes a new deal. This is a typical middle child book. We find out secrets and begin to see the bigger picture.

It's hard to rate this book as it leaves you wanting more. The pace is good and the story is interesting.

I received this ARC in exchange for a honest review. Midnight Star is another amazing read by Karpov Kinrade. The series has only gotten better and stepped up the game. It was utterly flawless. It answered some thoughts that only proved to be true and I'm even more excited to see the future and direction this series will take. Ari is an amazing character, you get to watch as the princes grow. Midnight Star is action paced and fast paced. I almost cried when it ended, not just for the end that had me jumping up and down but for the fact I have to wait for the next. I recommend this series wholeheartedly and quite religiously

"While I breathe, I hope."

Let me say to you that I'm not really into magic or Fae stories but this one? It's so good that with each page, it intrigues you to go on and on. I really liked this one. All the characters have been created as well. Ari is 18 years old but she is strong and very smart. She is such a warrior. All the characters have their own personality. Even you'll like the bad ones! I want to know what will happen to Asher in third book! I don't know he is bad one or good one, yet! Annnnnnd I was surprised at the ending!

I think what this rating boils down to for me is that the writing style is not one I connect with...there were moments when I thought I was engaging with the storyline, but then the descriptive nature of the writing pulled me from the emotional aspect of the moment leaving me disconnected from the scene...in addition, there were times when the dialogue seemed ill fitting to the character or situation, taking on an immature effect which gave me some eye rolling moments...in the end, I simply was not invested in the overall storyline or character development....2 Stars:(

This is the second book in "Vampire Girl" series....A "Definite Must Read" kinda' book. I would recommend to all readers to read the first book, so that you will know how this amazing story progresses.

This story continues where the first story ended. Ari continues to make good on her word, as well as, the contract that she will live a month with each of the 7 Princes of Hell.....7 Deadly Sins...She has been kidnapped and learns that all is not what it seems.

There are so many twists and turns in this story that just made me so engrossed in the story that I found myself at the end... As the story progresses, so does my opinion on the 7 Princes. They are changing within each story making them more personable. I find myself not hating them so much when I learn of new truths about them.

The characters are just simply put "Awesome". Though most are gruff, they can have their moments of being emotional and caring towards others they call family. I love the animals that are portrayed in this series. They are extremely loyal to those they care about and will do just about anything to bring some peace and happiness to their chosen owners. Lots of tender/tough love throughout and alittle sarcasm....my kind of facets that I enjoy in a story.

Can't wait for the next book in the series which should be hopefully by end of month or close to it..My finger will be on the "Buy" button.

This is an amazing series and it's just 2 books so far....I sincerely hope down the road that this will be made into a Movie or TV show.

So all readers, go to your local book vendors and get this book...You want go wrong...

This book is addicting, thrilling and magically creative!

You will want to finish this book in one sitting, and you'll want to reread it again and again! Karpov Kinrade does an excellent job at creating an epic sequel that leaves readers wanting more. You wouldn't expect a sequel to be better than the original, but KK keeps building on their story and leaving me breathless!

Arianna is a wonderfully built character who has a personality and a mind of her own. She isn't your cookie cutter YA or adult novel star, she's an earth shattering, beautifully written character! She has many layers and will surprise you on her journey!

The twists and turns of the plot will make any reader not want to put it down. This story is anything but boring, and that made me love it! I hate a story that slows down and creates a sense of boredom, this story makes sure you don't have that!

Reading this book is important for the series and I would suggest reading the first novel if you are going to pick this series up. This book contains important information regarding background history of our realms and main character, but it needs the background of the first novel to serve it justice.

Five out of five stars! Karpov Kinrade wows again! A must read for fantasy lovers!

The is something about this series. I don't know what, but I really like it.
The second book is just as interesting and intriguing as the first one.
Arianna is going through some changes, more and more responsibility and expectations fall on her. I can't wait to see her kick ass and prove she is worth something, even though almost everyone thinks she's a pawn.

Yami was so freaking cute and I can't wait to read more about him!
Asher is still shady. He seems sincere and he's nice and friendly to Ari but, I don't know, I just don't trust him. I liked that we get his POV, we find out more about him.
Fen. Now, he's really complicated. He doesn't really do much in this book, but the ending!

I did not see that one coming. A nice twist, one that I enjoyed. Bonus points for that.
The reason I did not give 5 full stars is because the book was kind of short and the ending was too abrupt.
I want more, damn it!

Rating : 3 stars
I feel like I'm being generous with my rating of this book. To me it seems like everything in this series was to follow a very similar plot line and layout of most YA books. But to me it seems forced. And, so far, to me, the endings seemed like they were pulled out of a hat...

This book is fast-paced, but too fast. Things were happening too fast and felt like they were falling out of thin air. It just wasn't developed enough.

Very honestly, I was very disappointed with this series...
I know I gave it 3 stars, but that was because I liked some of the characters and the world building wasn't bad. The plot though...

I didn't like this as much as the first one. The romance was the best part of the last book and that storyline was on the back burner in this. I didn't really care about the fae drama. Almost everyone was dead set on war, and the politics behind it all wasn't interesting. At least this was clear about who the LI is, but I'm sick of the spending a month with each brother crap.

Secrets In The Blood Revealed

•••NOT for the transphobic, homophobic or closed minded•••

This series must be read in order. The first book is Vampire Girl. This is the second book. I can't wait to read the next one!

Arianna had been slowly adjusting to life as a Princess meant to marry a Fallen in Inferni... Until she was kidnapped by the Fae. Just when she was starting to feel at home! Hopefully her feeding Fenris her blood saved his life... She is pretty sure living without him isn't much of an option anymore. Baron either. They are more her home than Earth ever was. She must be the unlukiest girl alive. Now the Fae want her to believe she is half High Fae... How can that even be possible?! Why did noone ever tell her? Did her mother not know her father wasn't human? Or was that another thing she kept to herself... Like the fact that she died and was brought back to life on the contingent she become Queen and marry one of the Princes of Hell? Can she figure out a way to bring peace to these two very disparate peoples? Before the world burns down around them all?

Slowly everyone touched by Ari changes for the better if they are at all open to change. Anyone with any good in their heart falls under her spell of wisdom and kindness. It is beautiful to watch... If only there were not true monsters out there who only see her as a tool, a pawn... to be used and abused, if not outright crushed. Can she survive her detractors long enough to make a real and lasting difference? Or will the monsters ruin her and turn her into one of them? I can't wait to find out!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy dark modern fantasy with plenty of intrigue and quite a bit of horror along with all the mystery, action, adventure, suspense, and magic with a dash of romance :)

Midnight Star is book 2 in the Vampire Girl series. It cannot be read as standalone. It picks up where book 1 left off.

In this book, we saw more of the Fae and their way of life. We watched Ari as she continued to grow and develop and really come into her own. She starts understanding more and more of her new world and starts formulating a plan for how to handle everything.

With this book came a lot of betrayal and behind the scenes plotting and scheming. I was very angry at one particular betrayal but maybe everything isn't quite as it seems. I guess I will have to continue reading to find out.

Midnight Star ended on a fairly significant cliffhanger. Something new and profound was revealed at the end and we are left to wonder what that will mean and what will happen next.

Yami was my favorite character in this book and I can't wait to see more of him in the next book.

Overall, I give Midnight Star 4.5 stars. I liked book 1 just a bit more.

I’m disappointed. I’m still not team Fen. I feel no connection between Ari and him, feels so forced.
And now I can’t be team Asher anymore.
Maybe I will be team Ace next.
Or Zeb.
Who knows.
The main thing that disappointed me the most is Arianna is a lot weaker. She just fell into the category of those heroines who stop using their brains once they found ‘love’.
I’m a bit skeptical will get better.

This was a PHENOMENAL sequel. I am literally filled with so many emotions

Arianna is a force to be reckoned with. She learns the truth of who she is and about the plans between the vampires and faes. She is still sassy and bold, but she has finally worked on her powers. With Yami she can become unstoppable. I truly love her! She knew what she wanted, always wanted to help and she didn't look to violence to solve problems. Ari can be a true queen in every sense. I'm curious if that man she saw at the hospital was her father...that would be freaking awesome!

Asher, Prince of Pride, is just so damn adorable and to find out that he swings the other way was freaking amazing. Asher is definitely fit to be king, but I don't think he should be. The whole secret thing with his dad pissed me off though. Asher knows alot more then he is telling everyone.

Fen, the Prince of War & Death, is hot damn!!! Finally recognizing his feelings for Ari and not holding back is absolutely amazing. Fen is strong in every sense. Not to mention the whole twist that was thrown about him. He is destined to be greatness and to be with Ari.

The other Princes seriously need to get they act together and go against their father. I like them all except the Prince of Envy. Dean, Prince of Lust, is just a major tool and jackass in every sense.

King Lucian shocked me! I get why Fen tried to poison him. I can't believe he wants the spirits. It's just all too much evil for me.

The Druids are seriously bitter. They need to protect their people and not try and have war. They won't have the demons to worry about, but Ari since she is the Midnight Star. Not to mention the druid of earth is half demon.

That ending...man oh man. All the possibilities for both Ari and Fen are freaking insane!!! I need to know how this works out for them! This is a MUST read if you're into paranormal romances.

Amazing follow up to the first book in the series Vampire Girl. Quite a few questions answered; lots of twists and turns. Can't wait for the next installment. Ari learns of her royalty as a High Fae and what that means for her; along with the hard choices she has to make. Side with the Fae people and kill the Demons or kill the Fae and side with the Demons. Ari wants neither and tries desperately to think, and find, another way for all to exist and get along.
Biggest twist is at the end when Fen finds out what he really is. Explains why Fen and Ari are so attracted to each other so quickly; however, it poses the same problem of how they will be together since she is to marry one of the Princes. I want to see Ari and Fen together. I immediately liked their connection just like they did in the first book.
Can't wait to see what happens in the next installment of this wonderful new series. Only thing I wish is that the books were longer and not so short; however, I do understand that when you want to produce a book every month, there are time and length restraints on each book. That being said......I love this husband / wife author duo. I've read all their books / series and this is already one of my favorites. If you like this; definitely need to check out 'The Nightfall Chronicles' series.
I received the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The first thing to note is that the Vampire Girl series is, to me, something akin to literary candy. It's enjoyable in a lot of ways, and you know there's some not-so-great-stuff that comes with it, but it's nice to have a taste all the same. I like a lot of the ideas in the series and appreciate the general tone, ethics, etc.--it's fun but not gross, entertaining but not soulless, toned down and simplified but overall well planned and executed, a sort of not-so-guilty guilty-pleasure-- but the reason this doesn't count for me as a serious fantasy or romance is that each installment is very short (around 200 pages) and everything unfolds at breakneck speed. I'm more for a moderator pacing that allows everything time to unfold--romances shouldn't be instant and explosive, secrets need to be set up for a shocking reveal, details need to be woven--but since I know this series is targeting a teenage demographic, was written in a more serial format, and kind of relies on the pacing to keep you interested with twists and action and plot development, I won't be too harsh on it.

That is kind of my whole criticism of this book and the previous one, and it will likely follow to the next two installments as well--it has a lot of wonderful ideas and an interesting story, but instead of taking a more traditional fantasy-romance path where it takes quite a few pages for everything to happen, things here are cut down to more of the basics so we move along through the major events very quickly. I can't tell if this is a deliberate choice so it appeals to a wider YA audience (though Arianna is 18) who maybe don't have the time or desire to commit to the heaviness that can come with fantasy by quickening the pace and cutting down the fluff to the details that are more desired (like the declarations of love, the attraction, the twists), or if the authors mastered a more simple style of telling fantasy and crafted a story to suit that.

Although one thing I did find really eye-roll-worthy was the fact that Arianna gets a baby dragon spirit thing and she's called its "mother" and I'm just over here like everyone and their grandma wants their heroine to be Daenerys Targaryen, don't they?

Another good installment of the Vampire Girl series - although I must admit - I still don't know why that's the series name. Guess I'll have to read until the end to find out. There are a LOT of characters in this author's world and I like the story more and more as the details unfold. But I'm a little disappointed that I don't feel more connected with the main characters. Personally, I fell Arianna and Fen had too little time together / scenes together to make their feelings seem genuine. And I'm not sure I would be as forgiving or trusting as Arianna is when she learns more about the past. Fen was spot on when he told her in book one not to trust anyone, leastwise him.

Still, I'm looking forward to book #3.
