[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Futuristic Romance, M/M]
Shaikh Bogden Dhal Wuher Al'Abdalha couldn't forget Anjali or the time they spent together. If it hadn't been for the death of his father, Bogden never would have left his mate. And he knows Anjali is his mate. They dream together.
To get Anjali back, Bogden buys his contract and sends for him. But Anjali isn't overjoyed to see Bogden. Instead, Anjali thinks he is a slave, bought due to his training as a pleasure slave. And he's pissed when he discovers who his new master is.
Before they can settle their differences, someone betrays them, attacking their desert camp. Chaos reigns as Bogden and Anjali try to fight for their people, fight for each other, and fight to stay alive. But can two men win against insurmountable odds, or will they lose the love they share before they know they have it?
About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

I loved the first two books of the Katzman series, and the third volume was no different. The additional background to some of the Katzman planet and culture was delightful, the continuing story of modernisation and interplay with the Federarion was fascinating. I thought the idea of modelling part of the Katzman society on that of Earth desert cultures, including the title of 'Shaikh' for their leader, was fun. It leads to some interesting possibilities when playing with the plot and interpersonal dynamics.
Anjali, the man who thinks he's been left behind by Bogden, is a strong character. He stands up for himself despite the seemingly hopeless situation when his father sells him, then again when his new home gets attacked by bandits. He desperately wants to be with Bogden, even though he doesn't know they are mates. His giggling when he's happy was a nice contrast to that.
Bogden is the fairly typical alpha male, leader of his tribe, and very protective of his mate. Of course I liked him as well, especially since he had none of the overbearing arrogance some of the 'sheikh'-types have in other stories.
This is a fun read, with lots of adventure and some hot sex thrown in for good measure.
Stormy Glenn is a bit of a conundrum to me. She's not a very good writer, but her stories are interesting. Maybe she's one of those people who would be great at telling a story around a campfire, but she runs into trouble when she has to put the words on paper. I'm constantly finding mistakes in her books, not just typos, but the wrong words being used. For example, she once used "perspective" when the correct word would have been "respective", then used "prospective" when it should have been "perspective". I've also spotted several incomplete sentences. It's frustrating and happens frequently in her books. On top of that, her characters tend to be rather stereotypical and sometimes insulting. I love her ideas, but her writing is so mediocre that I can't in good conscience rate her books any higher than two stars. Are they worth paying money for? Definitely not. But if you can borrow them from a library source or friend and are into m/m (and sometimes m/m/m) paranormal or sci-fi romance, then you might enjoy them.
Congratulations to Ms. Glenn for this wonderful additon to the Katzman series. If you have been waiting for Bogden and Anjali's story, you're in for a pleasant surprise. When I read the previous book, Dream Mate, I thought it could not get any better. Pride Mate has got everything I admired in the first two and more...in spades.
One of my favorite things about this series is that the mating bond is a sacred thing to the Katzman race. I love how each couple, once accepting that fate has brought them the perfect match for their soul, has become such a rock solid team. Commander Chellak Rai and Demyan's happily ever after is continued from the first book in the series, affirming that their love is forever. This lasting bond makes the love scenes even more intense as their connection is strengthened. Do not let the sweetness of the lovemaking fool you, these encounters are also highly erotic and melting hot with sexy dialogue.
Bogden and Anjali have to deal with misunderstandings, and hurt feelings before they can deal with the outside forces that threaten to tear them apart. Ms. Glenn is a master at playing up the angst to the level that I wished I was there to “counsel” the pigheadedness out of certain people. If you enjoy being totally caught up in a book, this is a great read for you.
This story, like it's predecessors, takes place in other worlds that are described in perfect detail. I loved that she created a completely different setting for this romance to develop. Like any other planet, there are so many different types of environments and cultures. In Pride Mate Ms. Glenn explores the desert, its people, and customs. I was extremely impressed by the obvious research that went into creating a believable and captivating story. She even went so far as to create a new language for this particular tribe of Katzman.
There are violent elements in this tale which are to be expected as it is about a warrior and his mate. This series also deals with issues that cannot possibly be approached outside of the fantasy realm, but will make you wish it could happen all the more. While this book can be read by itself, the experience would be more complete if the previous books were read first.
I have enjoyed reading this book many times and have eagerly recommended it to my friends. Bogden and Anjali have become one of my favorite m/m couples and I look forward to hearing more about them in the author's next book. My favorite quote from this book is not in English, which testifies to Ms. Glenn's versatility in writing: “Entya haby, entya hyety, entya a'lhabby...you are my love, you are my life, you are my heart.”Originally posted at http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...
This was a good addition to the Katzman Series. I was sorry to see that uniqueness of the Katzman kind of forgotten in this book. Maybe it is because it is the third book in the series and the assumption is that you already know what Katzmen look and feel like.
I think this one was much better than book two. I enjoyed the introduction to the rest of Katzman and their people. The set up was good, the characters were more complex and the world easily imaginable. Since there is no explanation of what went on previously and the use of characters from both preious books, if you haven't read the two prvious books you may be lost trying to read this as a stand-alone.
Well. An alien furry sheikh. That’s new. Although I wonder. It does fit with the secret baby plot. *snicker*
We have inconsistencies within this book as well as in conjunction with the earlier ones. (I especially have to wonder at the hero and his family who are supposedly of the Katzman race, yet they appear to lack their feline features. And apparently they can’t scent people’s emotions anymore.) Again the blatant lack of using the telepathy as a means to facilitate plot.
Most annoying, though, I can’t really like Bogden. He makes little sense to me. Weird.
Towards the end, when the action picked up, things improved a little. So I’m good.
typical stormy glenn romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical stormy glenn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
laziness dictates i will use this as my template for all books by the following authors unless a book is remarkably good/bad : stormy glenn lynn hagen scarlet hyacinth joyee flynn carol lynne gabrielle evans
This was a fun tale. I really enjoyed the first two of the series and this just added to the series. I enjoyed the story being different from the other two in that it is started after the relationship was already begun. It was an interesting story and quite enjoyable.
3.5 stars. This one was even better than the second one. I really loved the desert setting and could have read much more about it. Even the characters were much more mature than they were in the previous books.
Still like this one as much as I did the first time, though on a second reading that hated word "snickered" stood out like a sore thumb, and a few too many times. Still I love mpreg and this is one of the best series about it. These are always on my "read again" list.
I have enjoyed all three stories in this series i'd enjoy it note it'd the ones that were pregnant gave birth. I hope this series continues there is so much more that could be entertaining about these people and their matings and stories.
I am still enjoying this series. Anjeli and Bogden's story provide an interesting peek into another sect in the Katzman culture. Hopefully there will be more stories in this series.
I really like the Katzman series. This story seemed short. Love the family aspect it. Would have liked more interaction with the chartered of the previous 2 books.
