Olympic Mountain Pursuit is the fourth book in the Pacific Northwest K-9 series. This sone is Jackson's story. He is an ex-US Marshal who now works for the K-9 unit. He is called back to protect a witness who was in his care in his last career. Can he protect her and her daughter and still protect his heart?
I truly enjoyed this one. This is a second chance romance of sorts. Jackson and Everly clearly still have feelings for each other four years later, even though they never acknowledged them when Jackson was handling Everly's case. I loved that they had a history, so the love story didn't feel forced. There wasn't a mystery really because it's known who is looking for Everly. But there is non-stop action with several killers for hire. The ending was perfect. I highly recommend this one. It's among my favorites of the series.
l loved ❤️ the cover of this book. I loved ❤️ this book's storyline. I loved ❤️ the action in this story. I loved ❤️ the Christian ✝️ theme in this story. I loved ❤️ Everly. I loved ❤️ Jackson. I loved ❤️ Amelia. I loved ❤️ Rex 🐕. I loved ❤️ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Bailey.

Jackson was sent word the women he run from was in danger once again so was her four year old daughter.
Jackson had left the Marshall job he loved because he felt the feelings he had for one of his assigned clients had become so important to him he took his eyes off another causing his death. His guilt drove him to quit and now he is a K-9 officer in the national parks. But things have change, the women he had left behind had been outed and she and her daughter are back in danger. This time when they asked him to step in and take care of her he was determined to give it his all. So he and Rex stepped up and the battle to save was on. Lots of action and lots of drama keeps you reading.
Super intense and enjoyable read. Hard to put down!
Everly has been in Witness Protection since before her daughter Amelia was born. Jackson was the U.S. Marshal who originally helped her, before he left to become a K-9 officer paired with Rex. Then Jackson finds out Everly is back in danger and in his neck of the woods. He and Rex find her and save her from her first attack. When they try to get Everly and Amelia to safety with the Marshals, something goes wrong and they all go on the run. Now Jackson is trying to protect the woman he had fallen for before along with her sweet daughter who is winning him over also. Can he keep them all safe? What if she has to go into Witness Protection again? Read this to find out!
The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some brief kisses but no steam. The characters are vibrant and engaging. The Christian ideals are woven into the story in a believable way and move the story along. This is an exciting series for people who like tons of action as well as twists and turns in their Christian romances! Read these in order and enjoy!
This is a great romantic suspense story involving Jackson, a former US Marshall now part of the Pacific Northwest K-9 unit, and Everly, a single mother in WITSEC. Jackson protected Everly when she testified against Kassandra, a human trafficker, who had murdered Everyl's husband. Now Kassandra has escaped prison and is targeting Everly, and Jackson and his K-9 partner Rex have to protect her and her daughter Amelia. The storyline was wonderful, suspenseful, and action-packed. Everyl had her moments of getting angry with and questioning God because of her situation. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.
Olympic Mountain Pursuit ( Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit #4 ) Jodie Bailey Olympic Mountain Pursuit is a Love Inspired Suspense Inspiration Romance and book four in Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit. Jodie Bailey writes of action all around, mystery, suspense, and faith. This is one of those grab your seat and hold on till the end. A mom and her young daughter who both are in WITSEC protection is blown and they are in trouble. Can Jackson and his K-9 partner protect them? If you love a good suspense and face-paced story you will love Olympic Mountain Pursuit. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
“Olympic Mountain Pursuit,” is the fourth book in the Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series. It can easily be read as a stand alone. Jodie Bailey writes a fast paced, full of action story about a woman and her young daughter, in the witness protection program, that have been discovered and are now on the run. Everly Lopez and her daughter, Amelia, have had their identity compromised and must get to safety so they can be reassigned new identities. Jackson Dean and his K-9 partner, Rex, are called upon to keep them safe until they can be brought to the Marshalls for reassignment of new identities.
Great read with lots of action! Loved the characters, though I wished I had read the books prior to this so I would have understood some of the back stories. But you can read this as a stand-alone.
I received this copy from the author by winning a contest. I am under no obligation to write a good review.
Wow, not only was this book so constantly riveting and intense throughout, but the almost romance made me want to scream. I couldn't put it down until the end!
Always a joy to read one of Jodie’s books. This one is the perfect balance of suspense, character development, relationships (with people, dogs, and God), and growth. I love a good strong female lead and I’m always a sucker for a dog.
Her WITSEC life has been discovered. Will they find her and her daughter? Will she learn to trust God? How will it all come together? Suspenseful, action packed. Romance too! Excellent!
Jodie’s books never miss for me and this one was fantastic. I loved everything about this book-the mystery surrounding Everly was great and the continuing mystery that is the thread throughout the series was addressed well. Very much enjoyed this book.
When her identity is blown after 4 years in the Witness Protection Program, will single mother Everly Lopez and her daughter Amelia have to undergo the trauma of starting a new life with new names, etc.? Or will the drug matriarch who murdered Everly's husband before her eyes permanently end that "inconvenience"? Can former U.S. Marshall and Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit officer Jackson Dean, assisted by his Dobie partner Rex, protect them from seemingly innumerable assassins, or will he fail like he did for another witness he was supposed to protect? Is Jackson able to focus on his role of law enforcement, or will his feelings for Everly which kindled 4 years earlier become ... oh, you know the answer to that question?
This is the 11th novel of Jodie Bailey that I've read, several of which deal with the Witness Protection Program. As usual, she has an exciting plot that will keep you on the edge of your seats with protagonists you care about and adversaries that give you the willies, mixed with a definite but not preachy faith element.
"Olympic Mountain Pursuit" is the fourth of the nine part, multi-author Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series. Like most of these series, there are continuing Love Inspired Suspense sagas that started in the first book - in this case, concerning a member of the team in hiding, suspected in a double-murder, the search for three stolen bloodhound puppies, and which of four candidates can fill the two vacant spots of the team - so on one hand, it makes sense to start with book one and read them in order. On the other hand, as usual, the books are written that should you read them out of order, you are able to follow the long stories I mentioned and enjoy the main story of each book.
I highly recommend this book, this series, and any book by Jodie Bailey.
Another compelling addition to this continuity series, though it reads wonderfully well as a standalone too. There’s an overarching suspense plot that slowly builds through all the books and won’t be solved until the last one, but each book has it’s own suspense and romance that come to satisfactory conclusions so you aren’t left with too much of a cliffhanger. 🙂
I really loved the way this story developed. Not as fast paced as many Love Inspired Suspense novels, but no less captivating — maybe even more so because of the unique pacing. There’s still plenty of action — but enough ‘down time’ in between to really get into the intricacies of the romance.
An almost-but-not-quite second chance love story. Jackson and Everly developed a close bond four years ago when he over saw her protection in the WITSEC programme. But, of course, those circumstances aren’t conducive to romance and we fast forward four years to a time when so much as changed for both of them.
I really appreciated Everly’s very real struggle with her anger towards God. I found those scenes so honest — emotionally raw — and very relatable. Moving and inspiring.
I listened to the audible edition of Olympic Mountain Pursuit, expertly narrated by Cindy Kay. I’m beyond thrilled that the whole series is available on audible and I have them all pre-ordered and ready to start listening to the day they release. A special kind of bibliophile thrill.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Olympic Mountain Pursuit. This is book four in the continuity series Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit. I'm a huge fan of Jodie's work so I was thrilled to see she wrote this one. It's well-written, action-packed, and full of faith. I know you'll love it.
Black Bear Habitat Outreach Tech Every Lopez is watching a big black male bear and a cougar fit over lunch. When she turns around a man is standing behind her with a gun pointed at her. He threatens her! Holding a can of bear spray she uses it on her attacker and runs. As she runs across a wooden bridge another man approaches from the other end and calls her name. They have found her! She jumps.
Pacific Northwest K-9 Officer Jackson Dean can't believes she jumped. He jumps in after her. He catches her but has a hard time convincing her who he is. Four years ago he had been her handler in witness protection. He had been with her when her baby was born and helped her through the terrible time. He had fallen hard for her and the baby and quit the Marshal's service. Now he must protect her again.
A horrific journey to stay out of the hands of paid assassins. God has a plan for these two, a plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. A good plan of peace and not destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life
This is a gripping, action-packed story of a former US Marshal, currently serving with a K-9 unit, and the single mom witness he could not forget. Jackson and Rex, his K-9 partner, must protect Everly and her 4 year old daughter when she is found by her enemy.
Travel a journey of faith with Jackson and Everly as they try to stay ahead of the assassin who keeps locating them. Along the way, you will find examples of self-recrimination, forgiveness, and restoration. Faith in God is tested and renewed, reminding us He is always here regardless of what we are experiencing.
I highly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down!
A solid installment in the K-9 series. The hero was mentioned in the last book as having been on loan back to the Marshals for this case, and it’s set just two weeks after the events from the last book. I really liked both MCs and the folks after her just didn’t want to give up. There was very little progress on the question of Mara’s guilt or innocence, but a couple new developments cropped up.
I especially enjoyed the descriptions of the outdoors scenes since it made me feel like I was really getting a glimpse into what they were seeing. I think I’d move into that one lodge with the great view, if I had half a chance. :)
A single mom, who’s in the witness protection program, and her daughter face danger, but a K-9 officer tries to keep them safe through all the risks and attacks. The intriguing plot and compelling characters draw you in. The exciting, drama-filled story will keep you bound to the book until the end. And, of course, it has a growing love relationship included. I like that the main character studied bears and taught her daughter about them too. The Northwest setting, in my part of the world, is a winner in my view too. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
