Bailey Martinez had two left feet and a bad case of clueless mate syndrome.
Nothing a doctor couldn’t fix.
Only…the doctor he went to happened to be the clueless mate in question, and Bailey was tripping over himself, literally, trying to get noticed.
Sigh.
He needed the Doc to write him a prescription of himself. Stat.

Heath ‘Doc’ Nelson took pride in having all of the qualities a good doctor needed to have. He was smart, dedicated, kind and observant.
Nothing about his patients ever escaped his notice.
Until Bailey hurtled into his life and Doc started missing a lot.
Like why there was a quartet suddenly singing him love songs outside his office and why there were secret whispers about doves being released on company grounds.
Or even more pressing, why were people suddenly a mixture of cryptic and smug while around him. As if they all knew something he didn’t.
He just needed for everyone to go back to normal and for Bailey to stay on his own two feet for five seconds.
Was that too much to ask?

Look, this really wasn’t a bad book by any means, but I personally did find it a little boring. I think that might just be me though because, as I said, there’s not specifically anything wrong with this read.
It’s surely quite silly, but it could definitely be kind of cute at times too.

It’s a fated mates story, where one of the two, Doc, is completely oblivious to the fact that they’re mates, even though Doc keeps thinking about Bailey, keeps wanting to take care of him and constantly worries about his well-being. However, Doc doesn’t notice he’s doing these things, so Bailey is left with an unrequited kind of love where his mate is perpetually oblivious and where he’s left patiently waiting until Doc finally gets a clue.

I also want to quickly mention that I really loved all the cameos with Levi and Arne. They’re still so lovely together and I was very happy to see that Levi had come out of his shell so much!

The good
+ Bailey giving Heath all the time he needs to realize Bailey is his mate
+ Heath's subconscious caretaking
+ Bailey's conscious caretaking
+ Heath even being confused and oblivious when Bailey says they're friends, because it just hadn't occurred to him
+ Bailey not mentioning Heath's scars even once
+ Bailey getting injured all the time (not even on purpose!) and his fated mate being a doctor. A perfect match
+ Levi leaving Bailey's pen behind for Heath

The neutral
o I thought the black cover with the single golden feather was gorgeous, and I wish that had been the final version

The bad
- No nesting :(
- The way Bailey was tested was mean-spirited and unfair. Now, Bailey was hurt for no reason

Quotes
x "I possess all my mental faculties. And they all had a meeting and declared you're the prettiest. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules."
x "Do I like wine? Hah! I know all about wine. Red and white and that pink one. I'm a connoisseur, an expert, a sommil-whatever-the-hell."

I really enjoyed this book. Bailey indulging Heath's cluelessness, and greatly appreciating his caretaking was just great. He also showed so much maturity when he explained to Heath why he hadn't told him they were mates. That moment was so beautiful. I'm curious about the next book, and I hope it has nesting. The first chapter of Fire was included, and it contained Fire thinking "he looked like an extremely pretty toilet brush" about Levi. I want to read more!

Light hearted romance 💟

Another enjoyable read, in this entertaining series. The story flowed so well and kept me turning its magical pages til the end. I didn't put it down til I'd finished. Bailey only has one soul mate, and that's Doctor Heath Nelson. Doc, who always puts others first, is totally oblivious to any overtures from Bailey. However, Bailey has endless patience, and I loved him for it. Even when things are going terribly and his plans are crashing around him, Bailey never overlooks Doc's needs. There's a few twists and turns, and a lot of gentle humour which will have you hooked from the start. I loved Bailey and Doc's story. They're two of the sweetest MCs ever. I’ll definitely be reading Fire's book.

Bailey and Heath were just as amazing as I knew they’d be. Top tier #obliviotstolovers.

The idiot and the menace. The oblivious workaholic and golden retriever sunshine accident prone angel. #couplegoals

Golden Retriever accident prone Bailey in a nutshell:
no pretty, swirly snowflake playing around his head would deter him from reaching his goal… Oooh that was a huge one. He dove for it, sticking his tongue out. It was cold and left his mouth tingling. Fun. He amused himself chasing flurries, only narrowly avoiding the branches of a tall tree that, honestly, jumped in front of him out of nowhere.

Obliviot Doc in a nutshell:

Doc,” Pete said. “Listen to me very carefully. We have roughly thirty trainees and about three times that full-time employees. Some of those people are very close friends of yours that you care for greatly.”

“I have no idea where you’re going with this,” Doc said.

“You’re leaving for five days, and Bailey is the only one who gets special instructions and a detailed meal plan?”

Doc mulled the words over, trying to think if there was anyone else in their company who needed such close monitoring.

Their relationship vibe in a nutshell:
“C’mon. It’s not so bad. I was trying not to make it obvious, so how were you to know?”
“You hired a flock of doves!”
“Don’t say it so loud…Arne might hear!”
“And gave me coded messages in flower language!”
“Subtle, I know.” Bailey looked like he wanted to pat himself on the back.
“I thought you were joking! How did I think you were joking?”

*sigh*
While I continue to love the Kriilas and how much focus is on their wings .. this story didn’t rope me in as much as the others.

Kriilas can apparently sense their mates when they’re close and get hit by a very strong feeling upon setting eyes on them, except for Doc. It’s been 18 months of Bailey endlessly flirting with Doc and Doc has these impulses to take care of Bailey, cherish his presents and remember his favorite color but he doesn’t recognize him as his mate. It’s a little too unbelievable for how long this lasts for, especially since it’s already been 18 months of Bailey unabashedly flirting with Doc when the story starts, even after a drunk kiss, even if Doc has no recollection of it, we’re meant to believe his instincts haven’t gone haywire but instead turned into a slow simmer of wanting to spend more time together.

I was expecting more of an ‘aha! moment’ when Doc FINALLY realized Bailey was his mate, to be honest I kinda wanted to see Doc out of his mind and in a frenzy, in a lot more panic than we got with the possibility of Bailey moving away.

On the plus side, they finally mentioned condoms in this one! With both of them agreeing it was safe to skip it because neither of them had been with anyone after meeting each other and were both healthy which just makes me question the other two reads, especially since Levi was a virgin, couldn’t they have just gone without too? Speaking of Levi it was really nice to see him and Arne again and seeming to be doing so well. 🥰

Still is 2.5 in the Inescapable series and is Bailey and Doc’s story! Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one for what feels like forever! Bailey the klutz is always needing to visit Doc because he’s somehow hurt himself. But he secretly knows that Doc is his mate, but he realizes that Doc hasn’t figured it out yet. That’s ok, Bailey can be patient. Heath/Doc is smart and dedicated to Bailey. I seriously loved when he realized that Bailey was his mate!! Loved, loved, loved everything about this story! My only wish was that it was longer and had more Bailey and Doc interactions. Overall, a phenomenal addition to the series! Well written and addicting to read!

This was possibly the most adorable book I have read this year! Bailey really is so physically clumsy that he does need a full-time doctor! Good thing he is fated too one! Heath is so smart and skilled but somehow completely clueless about Bailey being his mate! But never fear his natural instinct has him taking good care of Bailey. I could not put the story down waiting for the magical moment! Loved these guys and their sweet and fun romance.

This lovely little novella finally gives us Doc and Bailey’s story–two characters that completely stole my heart in the previous book, and it was so satisfying and entertaining to watch these two get their happily ever after.

I think what I loved most was Doc’s absolutely precious obliviousness to Bailey’s very dramatic flirtation and various attempts to display his feelings. Doc is an absolute gem of a character, with his care going far beyond that of a simple doctor, something that was very clear in *Dream* and his treatment of Levi. I loved the way he looked after all his patients but especially how tender and attentive he was when it came to Bailey–and Bailey certainly needed lots of caring with his harebrained antics and general chaotic existence. He too has such an interesting arc packed into this novella where he has to come to terms with his exact role within Arne’s company and what that means for his future. When the two of them finally come together it is so precious and sweet with the signature swoon I have come to expect from these authors.

With lots of soft feelings, comical shenanigans (on Bailey’s part) and two loveable MC’s, *Still* was a really fun read!

CN’s: A novella in a fantasy series that takes place in an AU world with Kriila (winged beings), with one character who has lost one wing prior to the start of the series. This is a fated-mates story but one where all characters still have to put in the work to make their relationships successful. There are elements of discrimination between humans and Kriila that are alluded to but not explored in this particular novella (although it is quite prominent in the preceding full-length novels). This novella is low heat with one scene of on-page sex and lots of fluffy, swoony romance. It takes place after the second full-length novel and must be read in order.

A novelette in the Inescapable universe, following Doc and Bailey's journey to their HEA.

This one is a bit tricky to rate for me. To be quite honest, I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous book, though it's mostly a matter of expectations set too high. Bailey and Doc were a breath of fresh air as side characters in Dream, and I was very much looking forward to reading their story. Only I was hoping for something closer to a full-length novel, definitely more complex in terms of plot, and it turned out to be sweet and cute, but short and not very complicated. Beyond Bailey tirelessly trying to get Doc to notice him as his mate (which is a full-time job in and of itself) and get hired at Arne's security firm, there isn't much else going on.

Another thing is, what I enjoy most about A.M. Rose books is a perfect balance of hurt and comfort, which makes the hard-earned HEA so satisfying. This one, on the other hand, has a mild case of 'cuteness overload' going on throughout the whole story, which is great if you enjoy that sort of thing, but a little tiring after a while if you prefer stories with more action or some heavier elements mixed in.

On the plus side, the characters are still engaging and delightful, and it was a genuine pleasure to see them getting really together. Bailey is an interesting mix of overeager puppy and mostly harmless chaos monkey, a walking disaster practically radiating (often unfounded) optimism and boundless enthusiasm, while Doc is incredibly focused on taking care of his patients and not much else, certainly not on the heart eyes Bailey is making at him all the time. How such a competent, considerate, and caring person can be so selectively attentive is beyond me, and as much as I have nothing against clueless characters in general, Doc's brand of cluelessness was at times frustrating enough to make me want to reach out and shake him to open his eyes. But again, YMMV. I'm still glad he finally did get a clue.

All in all, if you're looking for a sweet fated mates romance with 'clueless and sunshine' dynamic and a lot of doctor visits, this is definitely a book for you.

ARC provided by the author, I have chosen to read and write an honest review.

Still is an adorkable fated mates story with a slow burn, very low angst romance. I'd say a companion novella to the Inescapable series that you don't have to have read but does help with some background regarding characters.
Bailey is a total sweetheart, extremely clumsy though which just happens to work in his favour as he gets more visits with favourite person, Doc, who just happens to be his clueless mate. Doc, for all his intelligence when it comes to the medical profession, is oblivious to what's right in front of him.
They're around each other for two years when we catch up with them in chapter one and Bailey is extremely patient. It's so lovely that he wants his mate to have that moment of recognition that he did but that means he has to let him work it out himself. Meanwhile he has tests coming up to see if he'll be staying with the company, not something he's fully confident due to his regular mishaps but he has to stay to be near Doc. Doc is the nicest guy and would do anything for anyone, and it's clear to everyone but him that Bailey is special with the attention paid to Bailey's diet, training, etc.
There is nothing else going on in this book except for the romantic storyline, which is a nice respite from the drama. It's a lovely story to read and gives a bit of escapism for a short time. I look forward to hearing more from the Krilla.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

As far as I can remember, I've never read a "fated mates" story like this, where one mate is completely oblivious to the fact that they are mates. If I have then I am sure there was drama and angst over the second mate not knowing. But here, Bailey has a few moments of despair but then tosses that all away and settles in to give his mate time to come to his own realization. When Heath does finally realize it, towards the end, he asks Bailey why he didn't say anything (or allow anyone else to say anything, because at this point ONLY Heath doesn't realize) and Bailey tells him about how he felt when he realized that Heath was his mate, the wonder and joy, and that he wanted Heath to be able to experience that too, so he was content to simply be by Heath's side and wait for him. And I thought that was just really fucking lovely.

This is not an action-y story and there isn't really any drama or angst (thank you, thank you so much for the no drama, no angst, I needed that) so it might not be for everyone, and if you have read the first book in the series, this one has a MUCH different feel to it - to me. Not with the romance so much as the surrounding world, but this also takes place AFTER books 1 and 2, so my assumption is that things in this world have settled and/or improved a bit at this point.

After meeting Bailey in book 2 of this series I couldn't freaking wait for his story. That clumsy man totally stole my heart with his scenes and how adorable he was with his clueless mate Doc. The verdict? I totally adored this book! My only complaint is I wish it were longer and not just a novella. I could have read about these two forever. They were just so cute!

Even though Doc spends much of the novella still oblivious to the fact that Bailey is his mate, it doesn't stop his subconscious. He's constantly doing things for Bailey that he doesn't for any of the other trainees in the Miller Security program. It's rather hilarious how out of touch he is with all the little things he does. Bailey has the patience of a Saint I swear. And when the moment comes when Doc finally pulls his head out of his butt? Perfection!

We also get a sneak peek of the next full length book in the series and I already can't wait to get my hands on it too! The MCs are new, with only one showing up briefly in Still, but it definitely seems like its gunna be quite an interesting pair. It can't come soon enough!!

This novella is a perfect addition to the Inescapable series. Bailey and Doc's story is incredibly sweet and heartwarming. We get to meet Bailey and Doc through the previous story and Bailey made a big impression with his heart eyes at a clueless Doc. I'm super happy that they get their own story and happy ending. Bailey is a super sunshine character with his optimism and genuine happiness. Doc is incredibly focused on his work that he tends to be a bit dense when it comes to anything outside of taking care of his patients. Bailey is incredibly patient with Doc waiting for it all to click with him while still taking care of Doc in his own way. Meanwhile, Doc takes care of Bailey without even realizing it. I loved these two and couldn't have asked for a more perfect story! I do recommend reading the previous books in this series (and at a minimum Levi and Arne's story) just to have a good understanding of the world and background of this story. This one also sets up the next main character and I can't wait to see how that will play out! I absolutely love this series and seeing all the uniqueness of each Kriila's wings. This whole series is not to be missed!

I have been wanting to read Bailey and Doc's story since finding out about them in the second book, Dream, of this series. And I was not disappointed, I loved it from beginning to end.
Oblivious characters usually begin to frustrate me after a while but not Doc. He was too darn cute and adorably oblivious. He might not mentally realize he's Bailey's soulmate but his heart knows it. Doc went out of his way to care for Bailey, making sure he was ok, had what he needed, and ate healthy. And this gave Bailey, with the patience of a saint, much needed hope. I also loved that accident prone Bailey's soulmate was a doctor, who better than to take care of his heart and his boo-boos.
There isn't much suspense and action as in the previous books but it was not missed. I was too invested in Bailey and Doc. But it did have the sweet/tender and hilarious moments. And now I'm anxiously waiting for the next book, which will be a briefly mentioned but intriguing character.

I love this series and it's unique and imaginative world and characters this author duo created. So I couldn't wait to read Doc's and Bailey's story and it didn't disappoint - quite opposite - I couldn't put it down. What can possibly exuberant, outgoing and walking disaster waiting to happen (well not really waiting, because he has two left feet and wings), have incommon with Doc who's clueless about anything around him besides his work. Well, they are fated mates but one of them doesn't know it yet - by now you've already guessed who that might be ...
Opposites attract has reached a new level in this story full of feelings, banter and humour.
Keep in mind that it can't be read as a standalone. You'll need introduction to this unique world so start from the beginning. Each book is about different couple, but in the same universe. So if you like urban fantasy, family found trope this series is a must read.

Still by A.M. Rose is a fun short story in their Inescapable series. Rather than dealing with a threat to the Kriila world, it is instead the tale of Doc and Bailey finding their destined mates in the setting of Arne’s security company. The book references many happenings in the second book of the series, Dream, so that needs to be read first. It follows both main characters from their first meeting to Bailey’s final tests in his training program. While the book is character driven, that is not to say there are no crises to be faced on the way to HEA. Since this is a romance, the ending is not in doubt, just how many hurdles the pair encounter on the way to happiness. Still is very much an opposites-attract story, as are the other books in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love this series and this book did not disappoint. I devoured the book and can’t wait until the next one comes out. This is the story of Doc and Bailey and how one oblivious doctor takes forever to realize that Bailey is his mate as they work to a HEA. The characters in this story are wonderful in a world where the Kriila reside and find their fated mates. This was Doc’s story of being oblivious to the relationship until the threat of Bailey leaving brings it all to the surface. This story made my heart melt and chuckles slip out as clumsy Bailey goes through training to become a protector. This book brings smiles to your face and warmth to your heart as you watch the relationship develop. A must read as with all of A.M. Rose’s books. They do not disappoint, and I can’t wait until the next story out so I can sink my teeth into another world where love is love and dreams come true!

Adorable and Sweet
This is the third book in the Inescapable series and it’s so freaking cute. The first two books were action packed and full of danger. This novella is a bit of a break from the tension and is just a sweet and funny love story. Bailey knows Doc (Heath) is his mate the first time they meet. Doc, on the other hand, is completely clueless. He sees nothing unusual about doing little extra things to take care of Bailey. After all, Bailey tends to get himself hurt all the time, so Doc has to take care of him, right? Watching how Bailey woos Doc, how he never gives up or gets mad at Doc for being clueless is just swoony. And when Doc finally sees the light, it’s so lovely. I really loved this story. I highly recommend it.

Bailey and Doc are just too stinkin adorable. Bailey is a ray of sunshine, while Heath would forget his wings if they weren’t attached to his back. I already was pulling for Doc to get his act together and realize Bailey was his mate from Levi and Arne’s book. It would be funny he is so clueless if it weren’t for the fact that it makes Bailey sad. These two are mates in all the ways that count except for the actual physical relationship and it was sweet to watch. But I kinda wanted to just sit Doc down and explain everything to him. These two are all things sugar and spice, sweet with a dash of heat…well, once Heath figures it out of course.

Gahhhhh, this book is adorable! Like, Doc and Bailey are just so completely perfect for each other it’s ridiculous! Bailey is so charmingly clumsy that he basically needs a full-time doctor. Thankfully, he has that with the Doc! And although Heath has mega protective instincts towards Bailey, he somehow remains clueless about their fated mate connection for so long. Bailey honestly has the patience of a saint. I couldn’t put this book down, waiting for that light switch moment. But even before we get that far, it’s all sweet and tender, and utterly hilarious interactions. A perfect addition to the Inescapable series.

Still is a wonderful addition to the Inescapable series. I enjoyed touching base with characters from previous books and getting to know the main characters in this one.
Bailey and Heath (Doc) are an adorable and perfect couple (after they figured it all out). Bailey's patience and fortitude in the face of Doc's cluelessness are beautiful. Doc unknowingly cherishing Bailey is heartwarming and just a little bit frustrating but in a good way.
I kept smiling throughout this book and stayed blanketed in the warm fuzzies; I was so sad when it was over.
I look forward to more from this author.

Simply adorable! I have to say, I had so much fun reading this little novel.

Bailey was the epitome of sweet walking disaster. His sense of humor and endless optimism didn't fail to make me smile. And Doc, oh you sweet dumb man. How he didn't notice is anybody's guess, bit it was entertaining nonetheless.

I also liked the narrative. It was fast-paced given the length of the book, and I would've liked a few things to be more developed (like Doc's previous injury), but it was solid and kept my attention. There is room for improvement; both Bailey and Doc could've had more depth to their characters but still, it's a book that I really enjoyed.

In terms of cuteness, this book ranks up there with the best I've read this year. Indeed, Bailey requires the services of a full-time physician due to his extreme physical clumsiness. It's a good thing he's destined to win! Heath is highly intelligent and talented, but he has no idea that Bailey is his mate. However, you shouldn't worry because his protective nature will ensure that Bailey is well cared for. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next because I was so excited for the ending. Adored the charming and entertaining relationship between these two.

Doc is SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think anyone that oblivious could be that cute, but here Doc is to prove me wrong. I couldn't stop smiling and laughing everytime he was obsessively fussing over Bailey without noticing the why. And what can I say about Bailey??? Being a clumsy person muself I fully identify with him and his trips to the hospital. And I fell in love with how he is and cares for Doc. The way that he showed up for him and cared for him and let him make a choice for himself? That's relationship goals right there! I love this book so much amd can't wait for the next!

Bailey is on his way to an interview at Miller Security and runs into a tree. Bailey is a Kraiila that is a bit klutzy but has a great big personality. As he is usher into the Doc’s office at Miller Security he believes he has found his mate. Unfortunately for him his mate is clueless. After two years of training the class is going through testing to see if they made the cut. Everyone is nervous, but Bailey doesn’t make it as a securities person and has to retest. I adore these stories, they are romantic, angsty and unpredictable.

"....trying to sound pathetic. Internally he was screaming and dancing in happiness, streamers exploding and confetti flying."

This is a very charming and a very frustrating story ...... and oh so very sweet !! There are sooo many d'oh moments that it's funny and adorable. Bailey has the patience of a saint and is a total ball of sunshine ! And Doc…. he's just absolutely clueless, even with everyone else dropping hints. But when Doc finally realises.... swoon.... Quite simply, this is a very adorable novella. Great story - brilliant series!!

I really enjoyed this book. It was such a sweet romance. I loved the first two books in this series and was happy to get a new addition. Great world building and wonderful characters. The first two books were fast-paced, with danger and suspense and tension. This one is far more laid back and I enjoyed the pacing of it. Bailey and Doc were opposites, but suited each other so well and balanced each other out. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship develop and grow. They were so sweet together; I had a big smile on my face half the time. Can't wait for the next book in this series. 5 stars.

I fell in love with Bailey and Heath and couldn't wait for them to get together. I enjoy the fated mates trope, but can sometimes get irritated when one of the mates doesn't realize what is happening. That never happened here with Heath. I laughed with him, and at him sometimes, but he was always endearing in his obliviousness. I did feel for poor patient Bailey but his patience finally paid off. It was also interesting to watch other characters reactions to what was happening. A wonderful entry in a very enjoyable series.
