’m not prince charming, Sugarplum. But I think I’m exactly what you need.
It was a freezing, dark night at a truck stop, When a rough, scarred truck driver dug me out of a blizzard. He fed me, took care of me. And then he hauled me back to his rig And made me his. One hot, debauched night, with a guy more beast than man. Not how I imagined my first time would be, But I can’t be sorry for the sweet-filthy memories. For the tingles that run through me every time I think about him… Then I find out I’m carrying his child.
Well, being a single mother was definitely not part of my life plan. But when my past catches up with me, he’s right there— ready to keep me safe from anyone and anything. Ready to take care of us all. People tell me he’s feral, too rough for Perdue Town, even. But they haven’t seen the protectiveness burn in those ice-blue eyes. Something deep inside me tells me he’s the one. Tells me he’s her daddy. But will I ever be able to trust him with our lives?
USA Today bestselling author Ariana Hawkes writes spicy romantic stories with lovable characters, plenty of suspense, and a whole lot of laughs. She told her first story at the age of four, and has been writing ever since, for both work and pleasure. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two huskies.
Or take a detour to a whole new life. Thankfully this trucker took the detour and saved his entire future. I love how he is just a man, okay a great big alpha wolf really, with his own problems and lack of a supportive family, but he still manages to get by and when he finds the one he truly finds himself. And Ava is a doll with her own emotional baggage, but she is perfectly imperfect for him. Together they work, and after some angst and danger and releasing of anger, they manage to wind up in the most phenomenal HEA. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
This was a fab story that took two rather broken people and matched them together perfectly. From the moment Stinger saw Ava, he knew she was his mate. They had a night of passion but it wasn't enough for them ;) Adding in a surprise pregnancy really ramped things up for them and I enjoyed the reading ride :)
This was an enjoyable quick read and just what I needed at the time that covers several tropes. Instant lust/love for our fated mates. Surprise baby, age gap, shifter romance. A nice light read with no angst, hero saves a damsel in distress.
I’m a sucker for low stress, fated mates, paranormal romances. The low stress part of that is ridiculously difficult to find. I was ecstatic to find this particular book and now I can’t wait to read this author’s other works. Stinger was everything I hoped for. Some people don’t like it when the path to love is short and relatively straightforward, but I read books to escape the stress of day to day life, so having a low-angst romance with no love triangles, no enemies-to-lovers, and few-to-none hurt feelings or misunderstandings was exactly what I’ve been searching for. Definitely worth your time!
the writing went down hill after the 3 month time skip, i think at that point the author just wanted to get the book over with, it had a lot of potential… I hate starting a book with it being good and you can tell time and dedication was put into it, only for it to get a half assed half way.
The heroine was insanely annoying, i loved her in the beginning but she became inconsistent really fast. She said she’s only ever sleep with the guy she’s marry but all in one day she slept with the hero and then they both decided to part ways after. The hero has said he regretted it and so did she but literally like the night before we the readers were promised love and after care 😭 it just felt heartless and it was so obnoxious that when they meet again 3 months later they don’t even address the misunderstanding? And the heroine doesn’t get a apology she just completely ignores the elephant in the room and doesn’t make the hero work for anything. God i’m just so disappointed. LIKE HELLO they literally didn’t say anything about the separation, did the author even remember writing the 3 month separation? they acted like it never happened. Just disappointed and bad writing, i notice the author doesn’t have a lot of patience for her books, i’ve read a few before and about mid way the writing becomes lazy and it ruins romance for me.
dual virgins? i’m not sure about hero soulmates (heroine didn’t even know they were soulmates but agreed to marry him, like is she dumb? So you’ll just marry a guy who has a soulmate out there? these heroines man…) shifter (wolf) no protection (okay why tf did he ask for protection but didn’t seem phased when she was a pregnant, again inconsistent writing. ALSO, she lied and said she was on birth control but that’s never addressed and after she hated herself for lying about it cuz they separated for 3 months and she was a single mom now but the fucking story insists she’s “smart” but keeps making dumb choices. Just say you werent using birth control 😭) no ow drama / slight om drama (some guys where harassing her) disappointing disappointing hero disappointing heroine annoying heroine push over heroine no after care 3 month loyal separation misunderstanding (are never worked out) bad writing rushed events/plots violence hea safe epilogue dnf 💀 sorry spicy lvl 2/5 waste of time
I give this three stars I was being nice I was going to give it 2.5 stars. The book was decent it was a pallet cleanser. Not quite as good as the first three books. First, I would have liked to have seen a little more drama with her family background. Her family were criminals and the doj was investigating them. Well what type of stuff were they into? Did they threaten her? Did she witness something? Those are items I would like to know about to really solidify her background. Second, his reasoning to go feral was not strong enough. I could understand if he was abused as a child physically or sexually but going feral because he had dyslexia and was teased and stripped of his alpha position in my mind didn't make sense for him to go feral. Yes it was bad that he was bullied and teased about it and his younger brother teased him but still for him to go feral out of like to see him maybe a little stronger issue or stronger reasoning for him to do that. Thirdly, they were too much in their heads. His constant going on that he wasn't worthy of her and her constant going on that she was a nobody and nerdy bookworm. It kind of got on my damn nerves. But the one thing I nearly gave it a two-star was the fact that she lied about being on birth control. That's a huge and I mean a huge no no for me. That, and not letting the father see his child ranks 1 and 2 for me and I nearly DNF this book. How can somebody lie about being on birth control? I know they're women that do it and they make the rest of us look bad. Yes I understand you got caught up in the in the moment but he asked and she said she was safe. And then got mad that she was pregnant but then realized"oh it's partly my fault too". And then she later on in the book before she runs into him again declared he was never going to see the child . What kind of douchebag person does that? I understand that the guy is violent or nasty then yes I wouldn't want him to see his child either but stinger never hurt her and never threatened her. I will continue on with the series hopefully it will get better.

"How could a person have suffered so much, but still wind up so good and kind and smart?"
"I can’t give her what she deserves in life, but I’ll be there to serve her. To please her."
𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:
Ava's car is stuck in the freak snow storm. Stinger passes by and can't get the feeling to help to go away. Once he reaches he her realizes one thing. Mate.
𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
Definitely don't judge a book by it's title. This was so much fun to read. Stinger was such a grump and I loved it. He was feral and was fighting feeling he's never felt before. I loved how he got another chance to be in town. He gets to stay and protect his mate and baby. The plot was pretty simple and to the point. Beginning, middle, and end. Very enjoyable.

HOLY JALEPENOS, this was HAWWWWTTTT!!!! First time reading this author and what a surprise!! Has a very Olivia T Turner feel to it, with a possessive, protective OTT hero, but with this authors own distinctive voice. The writing was smooth and tight and I freakin loved the characters. A rough and growly alpha hero who is so feral he’s been thrown out of packs encounters a sweet, gentle and innocent woman down on her luck and in need of being rescued from a blizzard. I absolutely loved how the heroines gentleness was strong enough to tame the hero’s roughness, be still my swooning heart!! Totally my jam!
I will definitely be reading more from this author if her books are like this one!
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned except to say he’s never even held a woman’s hand before so possibly a virgin. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No others (a brief scene where some douchebags try to kidnap the h) no cheating or sharing or abuse between MCs. HEA with epilogue
Stinger is near feral and was kicked out of the pack for his unstable ways, even going after the alpha, Vaughn.
Ava was on the run, trying to get away from her criminal family. When a freak snow storm causes her to lose control of her car she winds up in a ditch.
Stinger sees the the aftermath of the accident, keeps going but something makes him turn around to help. As soon as he lays eyes on Ava he knows he has found his mate.
I love that Ava was able to calm his feral ways and give Stinger the love that he never truly had. My favorite of the series so far.
This was not the typical shifter romance. The characters are not perfect and a lot of times they aren’t. But Stinger is definitely not your typical wolf in a lot of ways. we get some backstory, so we know why they are the way they are. But there’s no flashbacks or anything like that. They’re just two people trying to find their way in the world, and that’s what makes it a good book. I’m not going to say this is the best written book that I’ve read, but I will say that it was very enjoyable, and I recommend it.
Braving an unexpected snowstorm on her way to Perdue, literally leaves her stranded in the ditch with no hope of a rescue. Feral as Stingers wolf may be, when they see the car losing it's battle with the icy road, the feral side makes room for protection. Turning around his big rig is the only thing he can do. The thought, one look, one sniff is all his wolf needs... But will it be enough? Fast paced, full story, no cliffhangers and HEA, can't ask for anything more.
I loved every minute of this fantastic book. An insta love story but sometimes those are the best. A big wolf who has no pack because his wolf can be outta control. He drives a big rig and when he spots a little red car spinning of the highway it's his wolf who tells him to go back. And that's how he meets his wonderful mate Ava.
A wonderful story not to be missed. It's one of those books that gives you those wonderful good vibes.
Ava was heading to a new town, a new beginning. But a freak snowstorm thwarted her plans, and landed her in a ditch. Stinger was running a delivery when he saw her car go in the ditch. He had no intention of turning around. But his wolf....From the moment he saw her, he knew she was his. And one complete night of passion just wasn't enough, or was it? And her pregnancy might just change things.....Another smexy, steamy romance in the Obsessed Mates series by Ariana Hawkes
Typically I hate the secret baby genre, but I've been enjoying the series and wanted to continue. I didn't feel like the baby was so much as a surprise as irresponsible, but that aside, I enjoyed the story. I felt like Stinger wasn't nearly as feral as they talk about him being, although his backstory is a little sad. Not sure Ava's backstory felt realistic.
Again, I enjoyed the story, and really look forward to the next one.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved just how much stinger showed Ava how much she meant to him. He was someone who showed with actions and not as many words.
I loved how Stinger made her feel loved and she made him feel complete. He didn't need to be a lone wolf anymore and calm the wolf down.
If you love Andrea Hawkins books you'll love this one in her series I think it's number 3 I enjoyed it it's about a wolf trucker finding his mate on the road that's doorstorm it's a lovely read I enjoyed it very much and I know you will too give it a chance you'll love it
Stinger had such a hard life until he stumbled upon Ava. Ava was running from her own demons not knowing that a strong shifter was going to save the day. This story was sweet meats and cruel. But brought so much love and tenderness. The heats from both of them was incredible. Love this story.
So happy for Stinger and Ava, and now little Anabelle. Things surely happens fast in Purdue, there's now a Supermarket, slowly growing into a community. Life can change within minutes and this time for the good, because now Vaughn and Stinger are now good and everything is right as rein..so to speak..big fan as always Winzie19🤗💕.
ML is a wolf that is too uncontrollable to be part of a pack, so he is a solo wolf who drives a truck. A blizzard hits and he sees a car go off the road, he turns around and drags the FL out of her crashed car. She is his mate, they hook up, she gets pregnant. She is running from her mafia family and somehow knows and gets a job at a town that is for shifters hiding from the world ?? Only weird thing is one minute she is angry at him then he shows up and all is forgiven without a word. HEA no cliffhanger
Stinger and Ava are a lovely couple! Her bad boy trucker has a touching backstory, and I love how he ends up sharing her passion (no spoilers!). There's no imminent danger to provide excitement, but this story manages to supply all the feels.
Stinger is a surly trucker who rescues Ava in a snow storm. Ava is trying to overcome her fears and shyness with a new start in a new town. Stinger immediately knows she is his mate when he saves her. Wonderful story!!!
This is the 4th book in this series! Each book is truly a standalone! I've read every book in this series and I've loved everyone of them. Ariana did an amazing job and I LOVED this book! I read an advanced copy and this is my unbiased review!
A snow storm brings together a trucker with serious control issues and a young woman fleeing a family that is involved in shady dealings. An instant attraction, maybe?
It was OK not great. Idk if it's the style Ariana is going for for lazy writing or if it's a ghost writer, but I've read and loved a lot of her series but these just seem different and personally not in a good way. I really like the Shifters, just not keen on how there mates personality is written.
I really enjoyed Ava and Stinger's romantic adventure. The continued inclusion of previous couples also is nice. The authors Insta love stories are a nice break from my other books.
