Kade:

I did CPR on my mom three times before I was nine years old.

The last time, I failed.

So maybe I have a bit of a hero complex. And more money than god. Those two things combined make me irresistible to every messed up woman in the city. Been there, done that, failed to put humpty back together again.

I’m done. No more broken, needy women for me.

Except God must have a sense of humor, because I find a woman sleeping in a broken down car in front of my garage in the middle of the night.

I should send her on her way. Except she’s a little unhinged. And sassy. And has thick, biteable thighs.

So of course, I give her a job, and a place to stay. I’ve got a problem, alright. I already told you that.

But no way is her sunshine going to draw me in. I’m done with women.

Yeah, I don’t believe it either.

Becca:

So I got scammed, and ended up sleeping in my broken down car.

It’s par for the course since my dad died. Maybe I haven't been making the smartest choices, you know, like selling everything I own to pay the medical bills and moving to the city to be a waitress.

Stupid plan, since i've never waitressed and am more likely to punch someone out than smile and say "yes sir."

But the grouchy mechanic banging on my window at two in the morning turns out to be a knight in tarnished armor.

If he thinks i’ll let him pay to fix my car, he’s crazy.

I’m a badass, and I always pay my way.

Besides, he needs me way more than I need him.

He just doesn’t realize it yet.

CW: I write about characters from hard places. This book touches on addiction, loss of a parent, cancer, domestic violence. But mostly, this is a book about people learning how to get out of their own way so they can love and be loved.

So apparently, not everyone has entire worlds and a whole cast of made up characters living in their head.

I bought my first book on how to write romance fifteen years ago.

And did absolutely nothing with it.

Until one day, tired of all my wishing and doubting, I sat down and started writing. The plan was to prove to myself that I sucked.

Turns out, not only do I not suck, I tell really great stories.

And those people who live in my head? They’ve been desperate to get out.

I am an adoptive and foster mom. I have a soft spot in my heart for kids from tough places.

I was kinda underwhelmed. I liked the characters and their chemistry, but there was way less spice than I was anticipating, which was a bummer.

FMC was unbearably corny. MMC was indecisive and dull.
Felt like there was no progression, between exchanging sob stories, and the FMC ranting about how she is not good enough for him because of how rich he is … borrringgg.
Also, being that there was no progression, why is the FMC already in love after one date? Embarrassing

I read Colton first, but it's nice to circle back around and read where this story started. Though they can be read in any order and you'll understand things perfectly fine, it seems that this story is very connected. Each book flows nicely into the next, which I enjoy.

These found family vibes are immaculate.

As far as this particular story goes, I could take or leave Kade, but I want to be best friends with Becca.

What a interesting new world to jump into. These guys are gonna be a strange new brand of hot and sexy. Kade was an idiot a lot of the time but he was a big sexy one. I loved Becca though and she was a true badass. Can't wait for Micah and Holly.

love it!

Loved this book. Great story, slow burn romance. Well developed main characters that you can’t help but love. If you’re looking for a sex filled story, this isn’t it. But if you want a good story line with characters you root for the whole way through, this is it!

Kade has a difficult past. His mother was a drug addict and died when he was young and he ended up bouncing around foster homes, until he met 8 other boys in a group home together they built a family, a home and an entire empire now worth billions. Because he looked after his mother in his formative years, he now has a bad history with women, he seems to be drawn to women who need help, and he gives them everything… then they leave him and the cycle repeats. By the time he meets Becca, he’s sworn off of getting into relationships and helping women in need.
Becca has just moved to the city following her father’s death, or at least tried to move. She’s just lost most of her money to a rental scam and has nowhere to go. She hops into her old car with her last 300-ish dollars and sets off in search of somewhere to spend the night. Then her car breaks down. She manages to get her car into the parking lot of a garage and decides to sleep there and wait for the garage to open in the morning.
She’s woken up by a huge man knocking on her car window and telling her she can’t sleep there. Kade is unsure about helping her, given his history of helping women and having them cheat, steal and generally break his heart. He takes a look but there isn’t much he can do at 2am so after a bit of arguing he allows her to go inside and sleep on the couch in the break room.
Kade is clearly overworked and exhausted, and Becca can’t afford the $3000 it would cost to fix her car up. They come to an agreement that she can work at the desk in the garage to take some of the workload from Kade, in exchange for a wage and being able to stay in the empty apartment above the garage.
Over the next 6 weeks Kade begins falling for Becca, but is very hot and cold with her due to his fear of her leaving him once her situation gets better. After a lot of arguments they decide to give it a try once Becca decides to leave the job at the garage and go into teaching martial arts and self defence at the local dojo. Becca meets Holly at one of her self defence classes and decides Holly would be perfect for the job at the garage, and spends time training Holly for the job. Holly is on the run from her abusive husband, and somehow he finds out she is working there and shows up one day with a knife. Becca kicks his ass, Kade is shook and realises she doesn’t need his help and never has (which she has been telling him literally the whole time) and he freaks out and says it isn’t going to work. After a stern talking to from his brother Colton, he realises he messed up and goes up to the apartment to ask for another chance, explaining that he was just shocked and didn’t know she was a ninja. Becca gives him the chance and things end up working out.
Kade is a great story, but the writing could’ve used some work. I’d still recommend the book but would advise about the writing beforehand. It’s not too bad, especially as this appears to be the first ever release the author, Jenna Myles, made - but it is a little cheesy at times and could’ve used some editing. Overall though, it did get me hooked and I did buy the rest of the series so far and plan to buy the last two books upon their releases too, and the writing does improve as the series goes on, it seems Jenna gained more confidence in her writing and more momentum in the story of the Brash Brothers finding love, which is what we love to see!

Jenna Myles's first book Kade is a billionaire romance. Kade is a bit broken and a bit grumpy when it comes to anyone but his family really. Becca is grieving and right now is down on her luck and things just keep going from bad to worse.

They are a great combination and have some really great chemistry and moments.

Jenna made a story full of banter, and fun as well as some drama, and hot moments. It seems as if there are plenty of Brash brothers to come and I really look forward to watching them fall.

If you're looking for a new author to try I fully recommend Jenna Myles and her debut novel.
.

Becca is still grieving the loss of her father, she was so deep in her grief that her friends didn't know how to deal and ended up drifting away now she's pretty much alone. She was hoping to start over in a new town away from the memories that haunt her, but it turns out she was scammed and now she has her whole life packed in her car which has broken down. The only plus side is she managed to break down in front of a garage. It might be the middle of the night but she can wait it out until morning.

When Kade shows up at the old garage in the middle of the night trying to catch up on work he's surprised to see a car in the driveway. He thinks the workers left it out but when he spots the woman sleeping in the front seat he's taken aback. He has a habit of trying to fix broken women and this one has broken written all over her. He intends to listen to his brother's advice and move her on but one good look at her and he wants her. His protective/fixer side comes out and he's mad at himself for repeating the same pattern he always does.

The sexy grump who showed up at her window and shows her kindness is the first good thing to happen to her in a while. But now he's pushing his luck. He's trying to take over her problems and fix things. She doesn't need or want either. She might not be riding high at the moment but she's not a damsel in distress either. She's a lot stronger than he even knows.

Kade tries to keep his distance despite that Becca is now working in his garage until she saves enough to fix her car. When she finds a new job and wants to leave Kade knows how bad of a mess he's made of things. He pushed her away but now he doesn't want to let her go.

Happy Reading.

Funny!

I don't think I have read that was as funny as this one. It is so good, I loved it! Great start to the series, the foundations were laid out in this book for some of the others guys stories and books. It was nice to read about the vulnerability of a guy and his biggest issues. They helped eachother without realising it. Beautiful read!

This book was so so so good!!! I fell in love with Becca, she is hilarious and quirky which made her such a fun character to get to know. I found myself laughing throughout the entire book, getting angry for the characters, and feeling sad when the characters where in a slump.
The book wasn't spicy in my opinion, it did have some dark moments (the backstories of some of the characters) but overall I found it to be a lighthearted, easy read.

I highly recommend this book!!!

Kade

This is the first book in this series. Kade and Becca met when her broke down at his garage. He ends up hiring her for the office. But both have secrets and baggage. Can these two be able to connect even if they don't have anything in common?

Lots of love to our main girl, Becca, who’s a kickass (…literally: a ninja) funny, and proudly thick-thighed woman. The story gently and beautifully works through domestic abuse and childhood trauma. But, respectfully, this should be Becca’s book; Kade’s personality was as spicy as a banana.

First time with this author I saw a clip on instagram for the book Colton but was told to start from the beginning. So glad I listened Kade is a white knight personality but has been hurt by so many in the past, Becca is not a Damsel in distress she is just down on her luck because of a pain and hurt from loosing her father..It takes them some time to get to know each other and realise what they each wanted. I have also fallen in love with these Big Brawley men that have become brothers and family

when your cheeks hurt from smiling

I adore a powerful woman in a story add in a man that wants to protect her. I’m all in. I would like the story expended as felt like some things are rushed. But I honestly had my heart broken and smiled so much that you can’t help but love the story. Kade has the biggest heart of gold and he just has so much love. I just wanted to know more and if that had happened it would have been the easiest 5 stars of the year. Now I need the next book but I’m hoping the story continues from where we left Becca and Kade

Insta love, too many supporting characters, though I do realize it’s a series so for there to be more books you have to introduce the characters at some point. I feel like the plot was decent enough, but there was no detail. Everything was spelled out instead of described allowing your mind to imagine it, if that makes sense.

Another review by Kuro said it better so I borrowed theirs.
“I really liked how the author started off this couple, however, I really couldn't stand the fact that Kade kept ignoring her. At the beginning he avoided her for the entire 3 week period that he gave her to work in the office. Then when she said that she was going to leave her wants her to stay... Broooo you ignored her.
Also after when they started dating for about a month, he left her because she could protect herself.... when she was in a dangerous situation and anyone would need a hug after he iced her out.. AND she still took him back, I wish she made him sweat. While I understand why he was so broken, personally took away my enjoyment”

Absolutely love this book!

I have to admit that I read the book Colton and Declan as well and the Hooked me in to this author. This book has characters that you can relate to and sympathize with. What I also liked is that the story had an engaging plot to it was building the other characters in the story line. It didn't start with the steamy stuff until close to the end, and Bri g an older person that was okay. I feel too many authors dwell on that area way too much. In this story it is used to connect the two lovers together finally.

Becca just arrived in Chicago and was supposed to be joining up with another woman to be her roommate. Unfortunately it was a scam and the woman had taken almost all the money Becca had left. Needless to say this devastated her and on her way to find somewhere to stay her face started to die on her. She is tired and frustrated but lucky enough to be able to coast into Brash automotive where she decides to sleep in her car until they open. She has everything she owns in the car and she is determined not to loose what little she has left after selling her childhood home to pay off the medical bills after her Dad past.

Kade is one of mine men that bonded together in the roster system. They are brothers as far as they are concerned. Made liked working out of this location because it's where the started with their businesses. Made is the type of man that in the past always got involved with women that had some sort of addictions. He would try to fix them just like he did when he was a kid with his mother. Unfortunately each woman just used him and broke his trust. He is afraid that he will get into the same situation with Becca;but she is nothing like any other woman. It is just a question now of how many times can be shut Becca out before their relationship cannot be fixed. She is tired of people leaving her after her Dad past.

This is a great story, I couldn't put the book down and I can't wait to get started reading the next one.

Complicated Lives . . .

Kade and Becca are interesting characters who both have had a difficult background. Kade recognizes that he has developed a “hero complex” from his childhood experiences of having to rescue his mom. And now being financially stable, he tends to draw women-in-need to himself.

But Kade has decided that he needs to stay away from the broken or needy women. Having made that resolve, he finds a woman asleep in a broken down car parked at his garage late at night. (I loved her snark when he woke her demanding answers as to why she was parked there.) What does she expect from him? Will it surprise him that she is much stronger than he thinks and she wants to pay her own way as she always has? Her life is difficult, but she stands up to the hardship and does all she can to make it better.

So he offers her a job and a place to stay. He will give her 3 weeks and if it doesn’t work out, she will move on. But he staunchly ignores her for those 3 weeks, completely shuts her out, so she finds another job. However, when she tells him she is leaving, he is suddenly angry! She explains she will stay and train someone else to do what she now does for him. But that doesn’t seem to make a difference. And then he steps forward, pulls her into his arms, and at last he kisses her passionately! Expecting her to swoon, she takes him by surprise when she demands to know what that was all about. And then she proceeds to chew him up and spit him out. He is used to needy women, women who are broken so he can fix them. But this one is definitely not that type and he didn’t know how to deal with her! All he knew was that he wanted her that first night they met. Is it too late now? Can they start to see the real person beneath the outward appearances? Can they see what influenced the way they each turned out? And are they willing to fight for something better… for each other?

Kade and Becca

This is my first time reading this author and she did an amazing job with this story. These books were recommended from one of my many groups that I'm in on Facebook , so thank you to that person .
Now Kade and these brothers from another mother grew up in horrible conditions and faced many issues, but they all built an awesome company together.
Kade's main problem with the women he dated, was the need to fix them and hopefully they would in turn love him back, but sadly didn't happen.
Becca was trying to escape her devastation over losing her dad, who was always her biggest cheerleader, and her car broke down right in front of one of the garages that Kade owned.
With this happening, he immediately thought she needed fixing, but Becca is stronger than anyone he's ever been with and with his past issues, almost lost her love.
A must read!! Happy reading!!

Great Romance & series starter. I loved the way this book starts, with feisty Becca down on her luck – but not ‘out’. Enter (seeming) mechanic, Kade who discovers her sleeping in her broken-down car on his garage forecourt. The sparks fly between them from the very start with some amusing and well written sarcastic banter. I liked the way that the groundwork is set in this novel for what promises to be a very readable series about a group of men who have become ‘brothers’ through adversity. I enjoyed the development of Becca & Kade’s, sometimes rocky, relationship – where both of them have their demons to overcome; I particularly loved the fact that Becca is no shrinking violet, and is comfortable in her own body and ability to take care of herself. Can’t wait to read the next books in the series.

So, so good!

This book has just about everything. Compelling plot, fascinating characters, big emotions and lots of humor! I love that Becca is tall, big, beautiful, and strong. Her strength isn’t determined by her circumstances. Despite what’s led her to meeting Kade and the others, it’s just one small part of her life and it doesn’t define her. She has a wonderful, big personality and the heart to go with it. I love her interactions with Kade as well as with his brothers. I absolutely love that she develops strong friendships with the other guys without Kade turning into a caveman. Don’t get me wrong, I can enjoy a possessive male character, but I prefer it when trust is present and not jealous rages over nothing. I’m super excited to read the next brother’s story!

Intense breath of fresh air

It’s rare to read a story where the main guy character is not absolutely perfect and only has itsy bitsy flaws. Jenna Myles brings to life an absolute broken man and a put together woman and it just works. They story was Goldilocks speed, just right, and at no point did I feel like I needed to role my eyes and just get it over with.

I love Becca. She was a smart mouthed, confident woman who just is down on her luck due to grief and I really connected to her and Kade! I can’t wait to continue the series and learn more about this cast of characters.

Hot hot hot

Oh my gosh I love this book! Getting started in this world with these brothers. It's amazing! I love how open and honest the characters are with their feelings and thoughts. I love how they learn to love. I adore Becca and wish I could be her such a badass and confident in herself. And not just confident in herself but in her skills and acknowledging her limitations and working around them. Kade is definitely a sweetheart but he was slow to learn what was necessary and what patterns he learned in life. But they do make a great couple together and I can't wait to see what the other brothers have in store.

I started this book thinking that the "pile of orphan men now billionare brothers" trope was swiped from another series that i loved- So i was going in judgy... but this series is amazing and unique on its own outside of that premise. I ended up reading all the books in this series in 4 days-

Jenna is solid in her portrayal of real shaped women with different personalities and baggage. they don't take any shit and have realistic conversations with their men. the banter in this first book with Becca and Kade is exceptional and is my favorite so far- but they all will get 5 stars from me- i can see returning to these books again and again-

amazing kick off to my fav new series!

Watch out … I have a new set of book boyfriends … and it’s a group of obsessive billionaires… do I have a lllllooooonnnnggg list already for my TBR? Of course. ARC deadlines looming? Yep. But this Facebook ad caught my attention and the description drew my attention and demanded I dive into this series more than anything looming in my KU or screenshots of other books I want to read (IYKYK).
The fight and grit in Becca is one I wish I had in myself. Her determination gave me butterflies several times. Their dirty talk and banter didn’t even make me realize that there was no spicy stuff til the end.

don’t waste your money

Im so disappointed I spent money on this. The entire relationship happened in past tense. Three weeks went by and the things that happened were explained after. An entire relationship changed, in two couples, and we didn’t see any of it. I want my money back.
