NJ Moss worked as a fiction ghostwriter for ten years before he turned his skills to his own work. His latest novel is The Husband Trap.

When he is not working on his next thriller, you can normally find him walking his dogs (Loki and Gizmo, a Jack Russell terrier and a Chihuahua), rollerblading up and down the promenade of Weston-super-Mare, or spending time with his lovely wife.

An intriguing read right from the word go!
Liam is on cloud 9, he has just proposed and life couldn’t be better….but then his life changes, in an instant, enter Madeline, a cruel, narcissistic psychopath who has her own plans for Liam….the game has begun
The story is well told and although an adventure/psychological thriller actually deals with very serious and real life problems, and they are dealt with in the authors well known direct and unabashed way, this gives the reader an entertaining read coupled with a very poignant set of thoughts regarding the matters raised and how they are dealt with in society
You cant help but put yourself in Liam’s shoes and wonder just how you would cope with what he has to endure
The acknowledgements I think are the longest I have ever read in a book, almost a mini book, will leave it up to you to see what you make of that part!
A well crafted book, dark ( of course with this author ) at times tense and claustrophobic and a book you won’t forget

THE HUSBAND TRAP is a gripping psychological thriller by the talented author NJ Moss.

His novels include:
All Your Fault (2021)
Her Final Victim (2021)
My Dead Husband (2022)
The Husband Trap (2022)

This is my review of The Husband Trap.

Liam, a dog trainer, has just proposed to his eight-month pregnant girlfriend, Emily, and she gladly accepts to his delight. Rocky, their Jack Russell also wanted to be included in the celebration.

Emily suggests to Liam to go and pick up some beer for himself to celebrate their engagement, even though she couldn’t drink, so he races to a nearby store to buy the supplies.

But on the way…Liam gets abducted and is drugged…and wakes up to a nightmare.

On a large estate in the middle of nowhere, Liam wakes up in a stone cell with the doors and windows locked, greeted by a butler with guards watching over him. He finds himself the object of a woman’s twisted affections—The Lady of the House.

He was a boy toy for this crazy rich sociopath woman. She was looking for love.

Liam needs to escape as their baby is due in a week.

Will Liam ever escape and recover the life that was stolen from him—or will this prison be the last place he ever sees?

This well-written dark psychological thriller, with well-developed relatable characters had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Highly recommended!

Many thank to the author and Bloodhound Books for my digital copy.

Ok so I want to give this book 1 ⭐️ and I want to give it 5 ⭐️. This book is insane. Unbelievable? Yes. Cringeworthy? Yes. Disturbing and dark and disgusting? Yes. In a good way? Yes.

So … I went with 5⭐️ because even if I didn’t feel happy while reading this book, you best believe I was LIVING this story. I might as well have been a character in the story I was so into it🤣

And PLEASE for those of you who have read it… what the HELL was that last line??? Did I miss a significant twist?? Or was the author just like, “Welp, I’m done with this book, and I’m going to stop right here with this random-ass sentence.”

Another great read from NJ Moss.
The book begins with Liam proposing to Emily but when he pops out to get some beer he’s kidnapped.
When Liam wakes he’s in a four poster bed with no idea where he is.
His nightmares are about to come true as he’s held against his will by a psychotic woman who wants him all to herself.
Madeline wants Liam to be her perfect partner and when he doesn’t do as she wishes he’s brutally punished.
She is a truly frightening character as she can’t see that she’s doing anything wrong.
This is a gripping thriller that will definitely have you hooked.
Thanks to Bloodhound Books for the opportunity to read this book.

Just finished this story and it was so messed up.... but in a completely good way.
You never knew what was going to happen with any of the characters.
This is the second book I've read by this author and I cannot wait to read more.
I rated The Husband Trap a 4.5 only because I there was a few little scenes that I wish were in the story. I also felt the ending was a bit rushed, maybe needing an Epilogue

weird book

I wanted to know how this book ended so I read until the end. Very unsatisfying ending. The torture in this book was difficult to read and I wondered what would possess a person to write about this? Not great writing, but compelling enough story that I stayed with it…just barely.

Thank you for the opportunity to read the amazing ARC
Another 5⭐️ book from the talented NJ Moss. I do not know how he does it time and time again. This book had me gasping and on the edge of my seat. Gripping from the start and took my breath away few times. Dark, sick, atmospheric. I could feel every emotion of the main characters. The atmosphere and places were described so well that I was there with the characters. I could even smell the green places and dark dungeons. Well done NJ Moss, love every page of this fabulous book. Few hours of pure terror

OMG! Sit on the edge of your seat and prepare to hold tight! Liam has just proposed at last to the love of his life Emma who is expecting their first child in the next week or so. She insists that he go out for some beers so he pops to the shop using a shortcut he has told Emma never to use. On his way he gets attacked and feels a needle go into his neck. He awakens in a bedroom somewhere he doesnt recognise and finds himself prisoner to a woman who wants him for her boyfriend. Thinking of Emma, he refuses but the heavy guards won't allow him to disobey and make his life very uncomfortable. Who is Maddie Pemberton and can he escape back to Emma and his own normal life?
Oh wow! I should have known with Nathan's books that I was in for a rollercoaster but this one took me by surprise. It's so well written that, excuse the pun, it's totally captivating and real life and time slipped away from me as I kept turning and turning, wanting to find out more. To me this shows a truly excellent skill of writing and planning with an excellent plot and I liked Liam very quickly. Rather dark at times but showing that yes some humans, as Natan explains after the end, will do rather strange things. Sometimes when pushed and sometimes part of their nature sadly. A page turner of a read and one to that kept me enthralled.

The Husband Trap, A new baby coming, A marriage proposal to his love Emily Taylor that he should have done a long time ago, Liam Knight will never forget obsessive Madeline Pemberton and her butler and guards.
Dark twisted story that turns into a nightmare.
A woman with a twisted affection goes all out to get her man as a psychotic kidnapper, gruelling accounts that hit mostly in the library.
If only Liam had not gone out for those beers poor man.
A well played psychological thriller, this author always surprises me, two books are never the same with twisted stories that left me gasping, with a few added humours.
He goes through hell will he ever see his new son and love of his life again.
I just had to keep reading on, so the only thing I don't recommend is a bedtime read especially if you have a early start the next day that was a bad idea in my case.
It's addictive mind-blowing powerful and unputdownable in every chapter.
I really did expect Liam to wake up in the shower, and it was all a dream.
With a message from the author to a higher degree, sort of like a bargain bin squid games.
I could add so much more but I don't do long reviews so will leave it here with a simple five stars.
That's it I'm happy once again.

After reading Nathan's last book, I couldn't wait to get started on this one!
This book is completely different to My Dead Husband but it still had me compelled from the start and I had to keep reading to see what happened next.
When I stopped reading it, it was one that still played in my head as its a pretty messed up storyline - In fact I actually said to one of my book friends, that it's such a messed up storyline but I am really enjoying it - not sure what that says about me to be honest!
Great read - would def recommend.

I love this authors books he has a very dark mind and has not Disappointed me or his readers on this one has delivered a very gripping addictive book I read it in a day you wont be able to put down .Liam and Emily are expecting there first child . Liam wants to do the right thing and marry her he proposes and Emily says yes he gets the non alcoholic champagne out .Emily tells him to go to shop and get himself some beer .but he never gets there someone outside is waiting for him dressed all in black with balaclava Liam puts up a fight but there is more of them next thing the needle comes out and he wakes up in a strange room . where a butler walks in and is escorted also with the men in black where he meets the lady of the house and he has to do everything as he is told to survive he is degraded in the worst possible way . its so dam good but sadly this does happen to men a lot of authors never address this in a story and you would do what Liam did to protect everything you love . this is not for the faint hearted .but I so so recommend .

My best friend approached me and asked if I'd be interested in reading this with a group and writing a review for it by release date. I had never heard of the author before but agreed without hesitation - while I don't read a ton of thrillers, I know when I do they are usually fast paced and fun so why not?! Well, I'm happy I said yes because this was a helluva ride! I didn't want to stop reading once I got going and was left feeling a bit creeped out and claustrophobic many times throughout the book. Moss may have been a new author for me with this read, but he will definitely be a repeat one from now on!

They are a pretty ordinary couple living in a one-bedroom flat in Bristol. Liam is setting himself up as a dog trainer and Emily works at a call centre. After being together for six years and with her merely a week away from giving birth to their first child, Liam finally proposes to Emily. Overjoyed, she says yes and he goes off out to buy something to celebrate with. Only he never makes it home. Down a dark alley three men accost him, inject him with a substance that knocks him out and whisk him away to some vast manor house occupied by a butler, several masked and well-trained guards and a deranged damaged psychopathic woman who craves love – from Liam. He soon finds that if he doesn’t act and speak as she wishes he finds himself beaten and locked in a bare prison cell. What kind of twisted sick game is the woman playing? How far will Liam be prepared to go in order to stay alive and try to make it home to his fiancée and new baby? And will they still be there waiting for him if he does?
This is a story of true love versus twisted love, full of gruesome shocks and surprises. It’s very well written and incudes some thoughts from the lady of the house herself which serve to give an insight into her bizarre life and actions. This is a completely gripping and absorbing dark thriller that certainly puts a new and original slant on the premise of modern slavery. 4.5*

Another fantastic read from N J Moss. The Husband Trap was as dark, twisted and messed up as I’d hoped and expected it would be.

When Liam goes to the shop to pick up a few cans of beer to celebrate proposing to his pregnant girlfriend the last thing he expects is to get in a fight and wake up kidnapped in a manor estate in the middle of no where. The Husband Trap takes the reader through Liam’s nightmare as the Lady of the House goes to all and any lengths to win his affections.

An absolute must read for thriller lovers that enjoy a good twist and a gripping story. I couldn’t put this down and was hooked from start to finish. Thank you to the author for an ARC of The Husband Trap in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure what to make of this book at first but then I became hooked on it even though I found it deeply disturbing, very dark and, in parts, very sad. It is a very twisty addictive read and the plot is intense which did keep me on the edge of my seat but I felt very sorry for Liam and his family. I can't
imagine what he went through and I find myself still thinking of him.

I don't think I have ever read a book with the Acknowledgements as long as they are in this book, nearly a short story in itself.

Something I rarely think about, female abusers of men. But this book certainly opened my eyes to it. It was an amazing read, Nathan certainly knows how to put you there and make you feel what the victim was going through. I was totally hooked from beginning to end. I adored the ending, as soon as I finished all I could say was thank God!!! I hope there are many more books from this author, I will certainly be reading them!

Wow! This is quite the intense, dark, thriller. It grabbed me right from the first page and wouldn't let me go until the conclusion. Some of the characters are written to be disturbed and dark and the others in contrast are your regular everyday people showcasing a couple of sides of human nature. There is definitely some gore and gruesome descriptions in this book that lend the story its' dark factor description. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author to read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

This is one of the most mind-blowing stories I have read in a while. It shows the reader how some people can be and how mentally sick they are. Was this story my 'cup of tea'? No, but I had to finish it to see how things turned out! I read it all the way to the end -- or is it? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was my first book by this author and it was interesting. I did get confused and then looked at some of the reviews and decided to continue. I am glad I did but it was definitely different and I am glad I did but still not sure about it.

I was given an advance copy by blood hound books but the review is entirely my own.

I’m a huge fan of this authors work, and boy has NJ Moss hit it out the park again with The Husband Trap.

This is such a gripping and thrilling book, where your heart is always in your mouth wanting Liam to escape the clutches of his vindictive and psychotic captor.

Highly recommend! Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

An epilogue would have been nice, truly! I read this in one sitting. No doubt the atmospheric vibe created by this author is beautiful. It’s like I was part Liam. The ending, however - WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? I would love to read an excerpt on how the cops punish Madeline and save Harrison.
