The final book in this explosive series was incredibly fast-paced in tempo, there was non-stop action and danger throughout and it was like a runaway train to the grand finale. We finally get answers on the whole tangled mess and the chaos crew now go all out here to topple the final monster and orchestrater from his high throne.

The bonds between this family of killers are all solidified here and you could definitely feel the emotional connection they all share. I was happy with the eventual closure and where we ended up this series has been a hell of a ride and I’ve enjoyed every minute. Well-written addictive reading that has easily managed to retain its momentum.

This was a satisfying ending to a fantastically enjoyable series.
I would’ve liked a tiny bit more from the epilogue, maybe one more sexy tryst between them all, but otherwise, I loved it.

The plot throughout the entire series kept a fast, action packed pace that I had a really good time with.
It was full of secrets and mysteries that kept me glued to the pages and wanting more as every new answer was revealed.

The characters grew and healed each other along the way. Bolstering each other’s strength, and tying themselves closer and closer together.
It was extremely satisfying watching Dess and the others learn how to share their lives and love.

The sex was hot and steamy with a hint of roughness and power exchange throughout that I really liked reading.

And the ending.
It was basically perfection. Other than my greediness when it comes to having all the smut, all the time, I couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to the series.

Im really glad I picked this series up. And even gladder I waited until it was all released so I wouldn’t have to agonize over some of the more dramatic cliffhangers.

Book: Killer Reign
Author: Eva Chase & Harlow King
Recommend: Yes
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Age recommendation: 16-30+ Years

Plot:
After Descima kills off her family for being killers and finding out the Viper has been controlling her every move she choses to end him to.
Des and her men, make plans to get at the Hunter and find away to kill him. They attack his work places, find out about his human trafficking ring, find out he has another daughter to replace the one he lost and go for his weekness.
They manage to kill her other family member and kidnap her brother In the hope they will be able to change his way of life and thinking. They manage to all work together and kill the hunter which then gives her his role and job in the twelve.

My feelings:

Ok so what I discovered after finishing this off, this that is book goes with Crooked paradise. It covers the underground Twelve who run the city’s and countries. I didnt realise this going into this series, but now that I know. See the little eggs they had all laid out.

”A family built on strength, respect, passion, and a healthy dose of chaos. Just let anyone try to tear us apart, and I’d be happy to prove to them that love could win all over again.”

I also didnt really enjoy this series at all. It filled in the gaps while I was waiting for another series to come out, but I wouldn’t say I would highly recommend or read again.

I like Crooked paradise so im shocked I didnt like this one.

This is an incredible ending for Dess and her men. The storyline has been exciting, gripping and gritty, The characters have been good and bad and extremely likeable and this final book has answered our questions, kicks some ass and gives you an ending worthy of this series! Explosive, action packed and full of danger and surprises, I have loved this series since book one and thank the author for a great finale.

Dess's family is not the perfect picture of a crime fighting group but a bunch of individuals who believe kidnapping, torturing and killing the children of low level criminals is the way to stop the influx of crime in the world. They actually believe that the children are sacrifices they have to make for the greater good and that Dess should join them or be excommunicated from the family by way of death. Clearly they underestimated her. When Dess kills her family in cold blood she finds out that it had all gone according to someone else's plan. Someone has been using her as their tool for her entire life and she is just now realizing that she played right into their hands. They wanted revenge on her family so they kidnapped her, trained her to be a killing machine, and let her loose to take back the pound of flesh her family had cost them. Even if they manipulated her for revenge, Dess may have been able to move past it if the dirty dealings of this person didn't come to light which made them on the same plain as her evil family. Now Dess has a new enemy to bring down and this one is going to be the most complicated of all.

This book was definitely a means of wrapping up all the loose ends of Dess's life and the mysteries that surrounded it. The men were still there, fighting by her side but they seemed to really take a backseat to everything else. There were no more realizations of feelings other than Dess finally catching up with the rest of the class so it was just an flat experience where the romance was concerned. Of course they found time to be together sexually even while chronically on the run but other than that... it was mainly about Dess finally reclaiming her life for herself. Don't get me wrong, it was a good ending, but I wish that the romance would not have plateaued in book three.

I found Dess's brother to be the most annoying brat I have ever had the misfortune of reading about. Granted, I know he was going through a lot losing his entire family and being kidnapped by his sister who murdered them, but... he had to know what they were doing was wrong on some level so why did he fight so long to remain in denial? It's a good thing Dess has a heart because I was kind of waiting for her to just cut her losses and off him as well.

I think that with the drawbacks of the romance becoming a bit stagnant and the brother being annoying as hell, it was still a middle-of-the-road book that I am glad I read. The series overall was a good one and I would recommend it to anyone who likes romantic suspense with a bit more heat but that doesn't skimp on the actual storyline to do so.

My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book.

It's finally here the final instalment in Decima's story, having learned the identity of the person responsible for her kidnapping when she was a child and who has been pulling the strings for her whole life Des is asked to join his team, or see the downfall of the Chaos Crew and perhaps herself. But The Bloodhunter badly miscalculated the loyalty and love shared by her and her guys, but how are they going to take down the Blood Hunter. Or this time have they bitten off more than they can chew?

The first step is for Blaze to dig into the man's many businesses, where he discovers that the Blood Hunter's organisation is responsible for the kidnapping and selling of women of all ages, as well as many other horrendous crimes. Whilst trying to stay on the move, out of the reach of law enforcement and their enemy's clutches, the Chaos Crew attempts to stay one jump ahead as they do their best to strike where it will hurt the Blood Hunter's business most and bring his dealings to a close. But will it be possible to find just the right angle to bring him down for good?

The storyline is action-packed as we've come to expect, the interactions between Dec and her guys are hot and heavy as each one of them makes their own commitment to stay together no matter the cost. The ending was good although unexpected, but I don't know how else this story could have ended.

The narration by Vanessa Moyen and Stephen Dexter was excellent, they have continually portrayed the characters and the action beautifully.

I'm pretty proud of myself for getting through all the books in this series. The mystery of Desima and how she ended up being a trained assassin for a group of bad people, her roots, and who was behind all this kept me interested. Until this book.

When the mystery started to become clearer in this ladt book, this series fell apart.

I won't reveal the answers. Suffice it to say it involved ritual human sacrifice, a global conspiracy, and at least one megalomaniac. It felt like the plot spiraled into a super complex, hard to swallow series of altercations that just got crazy.

The ending of this series didn't do it for this reader. Three previous books were a lot to live up to as each ratcheted up the tension while adding new characters and challenges. The ending seemed to try to top all the previous events. Maybe that's why it just spun out of control. I never felt there was a clear story on the human sacrificin' family or the super criminal group. Since these were crucial parts, it left me with lukewarm answers to important questions. When I realized I'd been frowning for a good part of this book, I knew I was done.

The series itself had what was supposed to be a romance involving a reverse harem. I guess this was really a "dark romance," which I think is code for a lot of painful sounding sex. Maybe that's not really true, but it seems to be how it turns out. I did get that these folks all connected on a deep level, but the sex just made me hurt, not get hot.

I think this series had a ton of great potential. It just didn't reach it.

What a great conclusion to this action packed series. I was in suspense the whole time because the Blood Hunter seemed to always be a step ahead of the Chaos Crew. I had no idea how they were going to take him down, but the little steps they took along the way seemed genius. The ending was the cherry on top though. The finals steps the Chaos Crew took to free themselves from the Blood Hunter were so imaginative. Never saw any of it coming, with the exception of the bait.
There weren’t a lot of sexy scenes in this book, but i didn’t mind it at all. It would have seemed over the top if there was because they were running for their lives, sometimes changing locations daily. So good on the authors for recognizing that and keeping it more about the plot and badass fighting.
I really enjoyed this series because it had a good storyline. There was no extra fluff and it flowed really well. I love when a female can take care of herself, and Decima did just that throughout the whole series. She never cowered from a task and always came out on top.
The epilogue was so great. I feel like there can be another series tied to this one with Decima’s new role. I’d love to read more in this world and find out more information about the Devil’s Dozen.

This is a review for the entire series.

Ok so I came upon this series from booktok and usually I am left disappointed or eh about many of those recommendations. That was not the case here, I sped through the first book and immediately downloaded the rest of the series and read all four books in a day and half — insomnia for the win!

What I liked: the writing was well done, and purposeful it wasn’t advanced, there wasn’t an abundance of over description and useless passages that had no bearing on the story. Assassins and hit men ❤️ aka strong characters who make progress and have odds set against them that is reasonable and entirely believable, not only that while there was a “romance” between the characters it didn’t feel vital to the story or most importantly overtake the story. The action scenes, complete with murder and mayhem were on point 👏🏻👏🏻

Things I could have lived without: fast track romance, honestly the story didn’t need it for me but it was easy enough to pretend it didn’t exist and move on 😂

If you are in a reading slump and like action and stabbing then this series is quick, easy read that will pull you out of a slump.

Dess did the unthinkable and yet now has discovered that a puppetmaster has been pulling her strings as per his own plan. Now both she and the crew will not let him get away with his actions, but they are just five people against a crime lord and his vast number of connections. He will push them closer and closer to the brink - how much will they lose as they try to end his reign?

Wow - this was definitely an explosive end to the series as Dess and the guys worked through layer after layer trying to find ways to hit the crime lord and exact their revenge on him. I thought the final approach was inspired and suitably convoluted. The final ending was a bit of a surprise and I can imagine another series by the authors. Contains lots of danger, drama and at times violence. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Such a great conclusion to the story. Everything came to a close. The relationship with the crew was good and a little steamy but could have used a little more heat throughout the story. What happened with the brothers that let them use the house in the side of the mountain since it was destroyed? Thought that there would have been a little more info on the things that were found in the secret room. Did it ever come out to the public what they did as a family? Were they able to give any of the families closure? The story itself had me on the edge of my seat most of the time and I found myself taking any opportunity I could to read just to see what happened next. I would like to have figured out how the Hunter was able to find them so fast when everything should have been hidden he still found them.

I thought for sure she had a tracker in her neck.
That would've made the most sense. It would explain how he was able to find her no matter where they went, how he knew exactly where to find her when she walked off on her own in the woods.
In book 1 the guys mentioned that her tattoo had a little bump when they were checking her over and it was never really brought up again. I didn't think anything of it until he found her in the woods.
Like ... how else did he know? But they never mentioned anything about that. Never questioned how he was able to find them so easily.

It was a crazy good story. I would've loved a bit more spice, but I always want more spice in my books. I just love a good fuck. ;)
Anywhooooooo

Great wrapup of Decima's story as she and her guys try to take down the Blood Hunter. This is the man who had her kidnapped and trained to be an assassin who he then used to rid himself of his enemies. As Blaze digs into the man's businesses, he discovers that the Blood Hunter is grabbing and auctioning off women of all ages, among other things. As the Chaos Crew tries to stay on the move and out of their enemy's clutches, they do their best to ruin various of the Blood Hunter's business dealings. But can they find just the right wedge to send the man off the rails for good?

Lots of action in this one. The ending is a bit unexpected. Enjoy. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Riveting mystery romance
This is a fast paced series to be read in order. I just loved all of the characters, they can be bad and good at the same time. A great representation of teamwork, trust, loyalty and love. Several well done steamy scenes not to be missed as well as plenty of violence, not for the weak of heart.
This is the final book of an ongoing series that needs to be read in order. A great heroine that is strong, independent but not stupid enough to know when she needs to work as a team. The writing was very well done with a great plot and flow. I love how the reader gets such a feel for the characters personalities and what they are thinking Highly recommend to read this series. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.

The only reason I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars is because there were two instances that were a bit frustrating for me.

Before I get to that, I will say the smut is GOLD. I cannot fathom how all of them are unquestionably okay with having orgies or foursomes or whatever you call it with no apparent conversations about it. But also, go Dess! I thought the sex scene after Julius and Talon were shot was hilarious.

The only two things I was frustrated about were 1) they took way too long to figure out that Brittany was the Blood Hunter’s weakness and 2) no one explained or questioned Dess’ dad “rising from the dead” towards the end.

Anyway, it a great book! Definitely worth the read.

What a perfect way to end this series. Decima/Dess and the Chaos Crew finally get to sit back and relax. Julius, Talon, Garrison and Blaze make the perfect companions to Dess. They've had each other's backs through thick and thin, beating out their aggressors and rival crews. They've beaten the Blood Hunter at his own game and taken back their lives. Dess didn't let her family stop her from getting her justice and rescued her brother in the long run. What utter perfection this whole series has been. A kickass woman who showed her men that she could take care of business just as well as they could and protected them as well as they did her. It took four of them to love just one of her.

I have been hooked on Dess' story since book 1 and it sunk deeper with each twist and turn. My jaw dropped at the end of book 3 and I could not imagine what was instore for book 4. It was perfect. The chaos crew is on the ropes, but they are far from being down and out. They rise to the occasion and their ending was beyond fitting. Getting to see the after was surreal.

I am not ready to let this group go yet and am hopeful that there may be more to their story.

A series I will definitely be purchasing the boxset of once available.

I received an advanced copy of this story and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a great end to the series!!! I loved that I could still be surprised, I don’t think I could have ever predicted the last two chapters of the book.

It was a great wrap to their story but I’d love to see Dess step into her new role. Nonetheless it was a nice ending.

I think it would be absolutely great if Carter got his own series👀👀 he would make a wonderful main character.

I also just want to shoutout Eva and her ability to write in both dark contemporary and fantasy. Her bound to the fae series is one of my favorites and I just absolutely love that she can branch out and do all this other stuff. So good!

Chaos 4

Decima is one seriously lethal female, she was trained since she was two years old. The Blood Hunter has manipulated her whole life. He is one sick man who likes trafficking and takes children to be his slaves too. Decima and her crew had a hard time dismantling his trafficking all the while on the run for their lives, with her brother bound hoping to save him from the lifetime of cult indoctrination from their family. Such an explosive book, much action, lots of blood, bodies and chaos. An apropos ending and a surprise I didn’t see coming. Great story!

Great Finale to the series

It's over... What else is there to say, no more Dess and her guys.

I loved this series from pretty much the first page of the first book and was shocked at some of the twists and turns it took toward the end of the series!!

This book is as action packed as the others, the guys and Dess are solid and make a great team throughout.

Plenty of heat a HEA well happy for now and hopefully they may crop up somewhere else in this interconnecting world that is being built.

Loved it!

Wow what a perfect ending to the series! Decima learnt that her whole life had been ruled by one person, the one person you could only call the devil incarnate. Dess and her crew fought tooth and nail in this dangerous and exploitative situation, whilst trying to stay together and more importantly stay alive. Granted this isn't the most "romantic" of the four books, but there were still moments where you had to fan yourselves haha! How the series was finished,it worked really well,it all fitted together and I seriously cannot wait to see what comes next.

Book 4 in the series and the end of it . The authors threw a wrench in the story. Right when you thought, you figured what’s happening, you get the new villain shows up .
Heroine is Decima/Dess. Heros ( her men ) Julius, Blaze Talon, Garrison are perfect for Des. They have a plan for the Blood Hunter, does it pan out. Grab it and find out

The performance of Stephen Dexter and Vanessa Moyan are perfect, you can’t get any better. They did the tones for each character great

LOVVVEEEDDD

I absolutely loved this series. It’s not anything I’ve read before and it was amazing. There were so many twists and turns. Lies and deceit. Truth and revelations. Ugh perfect combination of everything. Decima and her men are just 😍. I really really really hope we get a crossover with Mercy. Like the Devils Dozen comes after them both and they work together to dismantle it all and then control everything themselves. That would be awesome! Perfect conclusion to their story!

While there were a few things that were questionable or made me roll my eyes- overall this book & series is a WINNER!! I didn’t expect much when I picked it up, but I’ve been both surprised & excited since I started. This was a great conclusion to the series. It still dragged a little in spots, but not anywhere near as bad as the middle books. The characters had nice growth. The mystery was nicely unfurled. The battle won realistically & I loved, loved the ended of her being a boss ass bitch, because that more than anything is why I adored this series!

Decima has made her stand. She might be an assassin but there has to be rules and those that brake them must pay. When she finds out that she has been a pawn in a game, she has to flip the table. Be careful of what you want… or it might come back and stab you! They made her a killing machine, with Julius, Talon, Blaze and Garrison at her side, they are almost untouchable. She won’t hesitate to make that decision and the Hunter must pay. She has killed her own family.. he will not even compare!

I absolutely loved this series. The plot line was incredibly intricate and hard to predict, the characters were epic and the relationships between the main crew were undeniably well written.
By the end I found I had several unanswered questions, all be it they were small and relatively inconsequential but I felt I needed a little closure on places, I also felt, as a reverse harem series, it had a major scene missing. Yes at a couple of points they all got busy together but never in mega hot and steamy way!

I listened to this on audible over a couple of work weeks so I probably didn't get as into it as I could have, but I did enjoy it. I think this might be information heavy enough that it's best to binge it, I own the series and will definitely revisit. It's a very deep plot and there were some connections I missed.

The characters were great but I didn't care for the narrators, I read enough on page to appreciate them though. It's a rough series and the shadows are pretty dark. I was happy to see it all work out and I had to smile with the ending, these guys are sweethearts. 🖤

Fab ending to a series. Lots of action, it was just one thing and the other. It was nice to see everyone come together fully and get answers/to the bottom of everything. As much as a crew they were, I definitely felt like dess brought them together more, sometimes it seemed like the crew was divided down the middle a little. Would have love an epilogue of just maybe a few more years down the line. Did love the ending chapter of how things were a few months later ❤️

Dess and the boys are back and this time plan to wrap it all up and beat the evil mastermind behind it all. It was an awesome read and so entertaining with all the action, danger, surprises and the ending. I enjoyed watching Dess come into her own and how she and her boys got closer and learned to work so well together. Glued to the end to see how it would all play out and just how Dess would come out on top. Loved it.
