Cupid spreads love wherever he goes… And someone is going to great lengths to stop him. Book shop owner and amateur sleuth, Alice Maguire, loves summertime, particularly when romance is the focus! It’s June in Blue Valley, and that means love is in the air. This year, the picturesque little town is hosting its first-ever All’s Fair In Love Fair, featuring vendors selling everything from chocolate-dipped strawberries, to candles, to handmade love notes delivered to your sweetheart by Cupid himself. The highlight of the weekend takes place at midnight on Saturday, when lovestruck couples can gather on Main Street to renew their wedding vows, or even get hitched for the first time. But when Cupid gets sick on his rounds, and love note recipients start dropping like flies, Alice and the gang will have to get to the bottom of a whole new mystery—and fast. Will love and sleuthing save the day? Find out in this exciting Cozy Mystery!
Murder Loves a Fair is the last one in this lovely series and that makes me sad. I enjoyed every one of these books and I will miss Alice, Franny, Owen, Ben and Luke and the beautiful community of Blue Valley, TN. Another cozy filled with twists and red herrings which kept me turning the pages. I was only a small step ahead of Alice in guessing who the culprit was that had attempted to poison several men in town. Oh, and Owen got his love match, too.
This one is the most exciting yet! Two major events occurred amongst the Fearless Five…actually it’s more like the Sovereign Six! (I’ll need to work on that title…)
Love is in the air and Owen is playing Cupid, but when a few men in town are poisoned and one of those men is Alice’s dad, she knows she needs to find the culprit fast before they strike again!
Alice is feeling ill, dizzy, and tired. She may be a victim too and when the culprit shows up in Alice’s room shoving poison in her face, will Alice be able to reach a weapon in time or will her fate be death by flowers?
After all is done, Owen shares a surprise and Alice has a secret, too.
I had been afraid this might be the last in this series, and after reading a couple of other reviews, I'm guessing it is, but it definitely went out on a very awesome note for all our favorite characters! I've really come to love all these characters and was so happy with the outcomes for everyone at the end. Possibly just to keep it lighter than murder for the last book, there wasn't actually a murder, but it was still a really good mystery. I had a feeling I knew whodunit after a little while, and I was right!
I'm going to miss my monthly trips to Blue Valley, but I heard the author is starting another series, so if this series is any indication of her storytelling, I absolutely can't wait to start reading the new one!
I love this series!!!!! Alice, Franny, Owen are now checking out Blue Valley Community Center for the towns "All's Fair in Love Fair Festival for the weekend. It's a weekend for couples to rekindle their love to each other with a special weekend. They even had a Cupid delivering love notes to each couples partner with gift cards for the couples to share, but something went terribly wrong, and it started to spread. Alice, Franny, and Owen had to find out why and who would do such a thing on a very special weekend? Then it really hit too close to home for Alice and that really got the gang in gear to find answers and quickly. It is not making any sense until the wrong person got hurt. Now you get this book to find out!!!! You won't be disappointed !!!!
This is the final book in this twelve book series. I'm going to miss these characters and their small town. This book was well written with a well plotted mystery.
Alice has planned another fair for her hometown, this one revolving around love. Everyone is excited by the activities that are scheduled. There's even Cupid to deliver love notes and gift cards. On his first day of Cupid's deliveries he collapses after smelling a bouquet he is delivering. He's been poisoned. Then other men in town are struck down. It's up to Alice, Franny, Owen, and the police to find the poisoner and stop them before they strike again.
A satisfying conclusion to the series. All three friends have found love and are married. Another baby is on the way. All is well in Blue Valley. I really enjoyed this series because the characters felt like friends, the police were competent, and each book was filled with twists and turns to hold my attention. I will miss reading about Alice, Franny, Owen, Ben, Luke, Michael, and all the people of Blue Valley. I will be checking out other books by this author.
This book in the absolutely addictive cozy mystery series set in Blue Valley, Tennessee sees Alice very much involved in running one of the many fairs the town has. A very special event is happening at midnight, wedding vows can be renewed and also people can get married!
Cupid is employed to deliver love messages around the town, but when he falls ill, the team have to find out what's going on, and fast.
Each book is a standalone mystery and is easily read in a couple of hours. The books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
A completely addictive cozy mystery series, it's so hard to put the books down.
I have enjoyed the entire series up until the end of this one. As a Christian I look for clean books which are rare. I had my suspicion s early on about Owen but kept hoping. Why did you have to ruin an interesting and delightful series by bringing in something that the Bible CLEARLY condemns. Homosexuality is not natural or attractive as you have pictured it. I will DEFINITELY not be reading any future books by this author.
Someone does not like Cupid as he suddenly gets sick which starts a string of love note recipients mysteriously dropping dead. What was supposed to be a fair to celebrate love becomes a deadly event. The rooftop gang will once again use their skills to solve the case.
All good things come to an end...even a wonderful series like the Rooftop Garden. Such a great group of characters. Alice, Franny and Owen are truly know how to have fun and solve crimes while doing so. Thank You, Thea, for so many hours of relaxation.
Another fine installment in this wonderful series. The old gang is back with more new quirky characters. Was very fast-moving. Summer Romance. A good plot. Lots of laughs along the way. And it kept me guessing right to the end. Plus a couple of surprises at the end! Sure am going to be sad when this series is over!
I really like this series. I love the rooftop gardens, the small town atmosphere and most of all how the 3 best friends ends up to be 6 best friends. A short quick cozy mystery.
This series quickly became a favorite. The fantastic setting and characters felt like you were visiting old friends each time you picked up a new book. I am sad to see it end but the ending was beautiful.
Three men poisoned due to one broken heart. Alice and the gang solve the crime. This is the last book in series and it had a happy ending for everyone.
A quick read with well written characters and a small town setting. I’d recommend reading the series in order since the characters’ lives evolve through the series.
