5 🌟 because I have to. Because it nearly killed me with all its cuteness. Because the artstyle is everything!
*I will keep re-reading this series every year if not every month or so.
The whole story is divided into 3 seasons. My most favourite one is the first one and I feel the last two seasons were made with the pure intention to torture the readers with excessive cuteness and yes, skinship. There, I warned you.
The story is based on two characters Haebom (who is way too sentimental and soft) and Taesung (who is way too aloof and awkward). Haebom has been living together with Taesung and his mom (the ultimate confused but strong and sensitive mom of all times!) ever since the passing away of his mother when he was a kid (the kid versions of Haebom and Taesung are what made me go crazy and had to put down the manhwa several times because I had to breath). And no, they haven't been brought up like siblings. Haebom is well aware of the fact that until he is eligible to move out he is staying in his mom's best friend's house.
It is almost like an enemies to lovers trobe. They attend the same school where Haebom is bullied a lot by a group of three classmates. I would like to highlight the parts where Taesung actually protects Haebom in his own aloof manner. I wish every young person has a clear head like Taesung's. The story is basic young adult, school life boylove in which the main characters face homophobia, having to come out ultimately and face everything together. I like the side characters too! Even the third wheelers! They seemed so real. I love their common friend who has been supporting them from the very beginning of their relationship. I shipped him more sometimes because he was really understanding and mature and we all need a person like this.
Overall, I love love love this series! 90 chapters including side stories and extra ones. It's the artstyle, I say that made everything so swoon-worthy.
Let's be honest. This webtoon was cute definitely but where was the plot? Nothing really happened in the story. And characters were very unoriginal and naive. I didn't felt anything while reading it for most of the parts. Surely some scenes were cute and some had me blushing and grasping. There were several coming out scenes which were really good. Side characters were completely sided honestly. There wasn't even a single character I cared about.
Read S1 and S2 only. And I am not planning on reading S3 as I read in several reviews that it's nothing but skinship which at this point I don't care about much because the couple didn't really made me feel anything.
And now I get why it's getting a series adaptation.🙄🙂
I started the year with some LGBTQ+ material and looks like I'll be continuing with it too. The second book for me for the year is another comic. This time around a webtoon. This too was up in my recommendation list based on the novels that I've read the past few months. As far as the artistry goes this did not stand out for me. As this is a webtoon and not a novel I will be focusing on the key points in it. True, there were moments where I did squeal and blush just looking at, and some moments that were really adorable but other than that not much stood out for me in this webtoon. The story felt mediocre and slightly rushed. We do get through the story later on that Taesung actually had a crush for 12 years (I mean they were 19 years when they started their relationship so a bit skeptical about this) and the plot of true love always works out sounds slightly cliché here for me. I'm sorry I like the slow burn much better and the manhua that I read prior to this was much better in terms of character development and having a solid plot so it is inevitable that this would be compared by me in my head. Unfortunately the former came out the winner and this ended being just a mediocre webtoon about first love for me. I dropped it after the end of the third season cuz they seem to be doing nothing much but having sex. There's literally no plot (not absolutely missing. There are few elements such as coming out to the mother and friends and such). Thus I have to give this webtoon a rather abysmal rating. Hoping for a better one next time.
THIS WAS ACTUALLY SO GOOD. i had some small problems though but still, i enjoyed the fluff, the cuteness, the drawings, and i loved haebom and taesung. istg they are so so adorable together. i couldn't take the wholesomeness-
marking it as dnf even tho i read it cuz u don't wanna add it to my gr challenge
Taesung have been in love with Haebom since forever. But it seems Haebom hates and ignores him for some reason and every time he turns away, he break Taesung's heart a little more. Does Haebom actually hate little Taesung? Or is he hiding some other feeling from him?
"Best blossom is cherry blossom and best man is a warrior."
I loved this manhua as well as the series. I understand if this was not everyone's cup of tea but as for me I have a soft spot for this series as it was one of the very first 10 BL mangas I've read. The characters are quite naive and sometimes can be seen really soft, but as an Asian myself, I totally understand why they seem quite unoriginal. It's quite rare to find truly LGBTQ accepting societies in Asian countries. The law might sometimes be in favour for them but it wont change every person. You can't truly expect this to be a typical Western gay romance, for cultures and views of both Western and Eastern are very different. To me I found this more realistic, since it did portray what it likes to be gay in an Asian background. The struggle, longing, passion was short seen but for some reason had me hooked. Loved the story, the bond of the male leads and the happy ending!
s1 : 3 stars s2 : 2 stars s3 : they finally fucked and that is it. thats the plot
theres some cute scenes but no plot no angst which was why it lacked smth for me overall. i said overdramatic drama are not welcome but these boys got together pretty early on (end of s1) but the story dragged on for too long (4 season, 100+ eps bruh and for what)
I really really enjoyed this series. It was a treasure trove for cuteness and fluff. Both of the main characters were very adorable. It's too easy to fall in love with them. I loved their romance. From childhood best friends to high school sweetheart, nurturing their love for years, graduating together, getting jobs in the same company and then finally getting married - it was an amazing journey to witness. My heart got all swoony....
Now, getting back to the actual question- why am I rating it 3 starts?
Yes, it was a really nice web series. But it supported some problematic stuffs. The author tried to justify a very sensitive and problematic content; only because it was the bad guy who suffered through it. Now, listen, I do understand that he was an evil person. I hated him, all right? But that doesn't mean that he deserved such treatment. The author was being insensitive which made me very angry. They literally made it seem like a joke and said that the bad guy had it coming. It was extremely cruel of them.
Chapter 137 was a nightmare straight up from hell. It was just so sad. The whole series was close to perfection but 1 chapter ruined it all.
This story was incredibly sweet. Both of the main characters were adorable, and I couldn't help falling in love with their story.
Season 1: 3.5 stars I thought it was unrealistic that they lived together for 12 years and hadn't once discussed what was happening to their relationship or what Haebom overheard Taesung tell his mother. For the sake of the story, I just went with it and I ended up really liking the way it turned out.
Season 2: 3.5 stars I enjoyed watching their relationship deepen and seeing their friends and family react to their relationship.
Season 3: 4.5 stars After the 16+ rating of seasons 1 and 2, I was completely caught off guard by the amount of smut in damn near every episode. 😳 It wasn't raunchy or anything, just them exploring their boundaries and making love. It got spicier as the season progressed, but nothing like the typical ott scenes that you usually see in these manhwas.
Season 4: 4.5 stars They're full-fledged adults now and seeing how they continue to stay loyal to each other made my heart melt. I thought there would be more drama with Taesung's father, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Overall, this story gets 4.5 stars, rounded up. I'm currently reading the epilogue stories and am enjoying g them as well.
Headlines: Didn't want it to end Quick addiction Adorable characters
Need a heartstopper-esque fix? Here's your solution. Bamwoo brought the characters, the feels and a solid plot. The characters were 19 but in college/high school.
Haebom was orphaned at a young age and taken in by his mother's friend who had a son (Taesung) the same age. In their late teens these two had a confused relationship or rather, a lack of one. This story was about their connection, friendship and a lot of vibes.
Haebom was bullied at school and much of the plot focused on his experiences and Taesung realising and standing up for him. It was cute and these two were pretty adorable. There was no on-page affection but definitely some bubbling chemistry.
When it finished, I was left wanting more. This graphic novel was so easy to get into, to like and I really enjoyed the artwork. I appreciated that the size of the book was A5 not bigger, it was comfortable to read in all the ways.
Thank you Inklore Books for the review copy. You have made me a fan!
I've been stressed all week with work. Hectic schedule and all, I didn't even have time to breathe. Now, this fluff is curing my lonely, tired, and drained soul. Thank you, Bamwoo! I FRICKEN ADORE IT SO FAR. In terms of the plot though, there's nothing really new here. Same old generic bl—BUT THIS ONE'S SQUEEZING MY HEART SO FRICKEN MUCH
I finally finished this manhwa. I will admit, I enjoyed reading this and liked how we follow the main character, Haebom and Taesung, and see their growth as a couple and how their relationship developed overtime. At first, I read this because it was tagged as Shounen Ai but halfway through it changes into a Yaoi (?) it got a lot of explicit content and I was taken aback because of it but it was bearable. Their relationship is healthy, I feel fuzzy while reading this. I smiled and giggled like an idiot.
I may like the story but unfortunately, I wasn't that attached to them. I found it kind of cliché but this is a good manhwa to pick up to pass your time if you're bored or if you want to read something romantic with a touch of smut to make your single life colorful. If you like childhood friends to lovers trope then this manhwa might be your cup of tea!
The characters are pretty one dimensional, predictable and stereotypical (bordering on bland tbh). The storyline is pretty cliché, no surprises whatsoever, with a clean-cut problem -> miscommunication -> solution -> happy ending.
The art style is really cute, perfect for romance, and it gets better with every chapter.
Oh, no. He descubierto el mundo del manga/mangwa/manhua. Ya nadie podrá detenerme nunca.
En fin...
¡QUÉ COSA MAS TIERNAAAAAAA!
ADORABLE
Las dos primeras temporadas son azúcar con miel. SO CUTE.

AMÉ PRINCIPALMENTE A YOONGHE (😭💞😍✨💖)
Aaaaasudjsks basta
Bueno...
Bye.
This was very cute. I loved both of the characters. The side characters were adorable too. And I'm happy that everyone accepted them for who they were. However there were times when I found certain scenes problematic. I still have some issues with Haebom's character.
Loved so many of the characters. The two main characters were ADORABLE and had so many wholesome moments that I lost count. Also, huuuuge shoutout to Jia who is a badass female character that doesn't give a crap about other people's opinions when it comes to her and her male friends. I can't tell you how much I appreciated a side character like her in a BL comic. Not only does she not fall for any of her male friends, but she shows just how tiresome it is for people to just assume she's dating a friend just because he's MALE. Like lord forbid that a female and male become nothing but friends and never once had feelings for each other amirite? *cue eyeroll*
On another note, the friendships in general were just as great as the romance. I loved seeing Habin go from being shy and timid to being much more confident and relaxed. His interactions with Taesung were EVERYTHING and so were his interactions with their mutual friend group.
Uggghh there should be a limit to how much cuteness can be rolled into one story <333
Espero que la tercera temporada tenga algo de trama, and maybe even some spice..?
